The High

discovered The High at the Enhala Perfume Expo in Bucharest. I actually wanted to purchase it on the spot, but unfortunately they didn’t have it in stock at the time, so I ended up ordering it afterwards. To my nose, this is a lovely aromatic scent that feels uplifting and refreshing. I get a bright mix of citrus and green aromatic plants, but what makes it interesting to me is a soft sweetness that reminds me of powdered sugar sprinkled on top. There’s a gentle sourness from the citrus that is beautifully softened by this sugary feel. I don’t see sugar listed in the notes, but that’s exactly how it comes across to me. It’s the kind of fragrance that simply makes you feel good — fresh and positive. The bottle is also beautiful in is simplicity: clean, minimalist, and very elegant. Overall, it’s a fragrance I’m very happy to recommend.

Very nice light citrusy scent paired with a soothing greenness from the litsea verbena and the eucalyptus. Then, the Cannabis note starts to slightly appear, giving the perfume more greenness while still staying fresh and citrusy. The High is a very uplifting fragrance which is perfect for the warmer weather. The High is also the one perfume from NEH that resonated the most with me, thanks to the affirmations and sounds paired with it. Being always stressed and overthinking everything, taking a moment to breathe and view life from an elevated perspective helped me realize that I need to focus on the present and take things slow. I can define the NEH concept as an equilibrium of the senses with the parts of our self, with the roots, with the family, with our pleasures and with the communion with nature. A balance in which each perfume reveals a meditative and contemplative state of mind and brings out parts of us that we have forgotten or have not seen yet. This mindfulness journey is perfectly reflected in this concept - the soul and the spirit connected to our six senses. The High - air - is an aromatic musky fragrance, which connects me with the air, wind and dust.

NEH The High is fresh, uplifting, and effortlessly elegant. It opens with bright, green, and slightly citrusy notes that feel invigorating, then softens into subtle florals and warm woody tones. I love how it manages to feel light and refreshing while still leaving a gentle, lasting impression. It’s perfect for everyday wear or whenever you want a fragrance that feels modern, clean, and confident. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I think this perfume reflects a true passion for nature. When I smell it, it reminds me of a journey through a forest in the rain. It feels like a way to connect with the wilderness. I also think this perfume is the perfect example of a truly genderless fragrance.

Notes from the brand: "I remember that I can choose to live life from the high." Last week, I attended NEH’s virtual Scent and Sound Ceremony and had the chance to meet founder Tara Derakshan. She explained that The High was inspired by emotional regulation techniques and the practice of observing thoughts rather than internalizing them. Tara shared that she intentionally chose a green scent profile for its ability to evoke peace and a sense of illumination 🌿☮️ It reminded me of an impactful book I once read: Clearing Emotional Clutter: Mindfulness Practices for Letting Go of What's Blocking Your Fulfillment and Transformation. Lemon verbena will always hold a special place in my heart 💛 Its lemony brightness, paired with a green, aromatic edge, feels so joyful. It brings to mind dappled, diffused sunlight pooling across a meadow when filtered through the tree branches above. Here, the lemon verbena is accompanied by litsea and bergamot, which enrich its citrus sparkle. Eucalyptus adds a soothing, camphorous quality, while a hint of cannabis introduces a subtle animalic, even slightly fecal edge. Unlike civet or oud, I don’t find the cannabis unpleasant, but it’s definitely noticeable. Beyond this, I struggle to detect many of the other listed heart and base notes. Longevity is weak, though this is typical of fresh scents like this. While The High is enjoyable, when it comes to lemon verbena fragrances, I’ve found myself preferring Aqua Media Cologne Forte by Maison Francis Kurkdjian or Verveine by Fragonard.

I sprayed The High on, and waited a few minutes - could not smell anything. No citrus, no eucalyptus, nothing. Odd, I thought; wonder if I got a duff tester. Went and had a nap, and woke in a cloud of beautiful aromatic fragrance that had bloomed while I slept and continues to do so now. The herb notes and orris are dominating, while settling softly into the clean wood and soft leather base. The cannabis note is not detectable to me, fragrance name notwithstanding. I have asked my husband to do a test spray and report back, as a combination of misspent youth and medicinal cannabis use for chronic pain puts him in a better position to comment on that one.

This perfume smells like a combination of honey, maple syrup, as well as gin all in one. I would love to wear it on a warm summer day in july. Perfect for everyday wear as well when in a good mood.
