The Light

Notes from the brand: "I remember that I can choose the light and cast away the heavy." Recently I attended NEH’s virtual Scent and Sound Ceremony and had the chance to meet founder Tara Derakshan. She explained that The Light captures the flaws or "cracks" in our lives (our flaws, hardships, etc.) which allows our "inner light" to shine through (our kindness, strength, resilience, etc). The scent encapsulates the polarity of light and darkness, similar to Angelique Noire. We have a bright tangerine note, accompanied by tart, juicy rhubarb, juxtaposing a rich cashmere wood base, strengthened by modern woods and tonka bean. The pink pepper is noticeable here but it feels well supported by the woody notes and cinnamon, so I actually really enjoy it here. Longevity is moderate, with strong projection. This cashmere wood accord is super duper cozy. This scent paints vivid scenes: sunbeams parting charcoal-grey nimbostratus clouds, cascading droplets of an ornate fountain catching the glow of nearby streetlights, and long winter nights spent by a crackling wood stove. The Light is the brand’s most reviewed fragrance on Fragrantica, and I’d say the hype is well deserved 🥰

The Light is a unique and interesting scent ! It's fruity at first but the rhubarb and tangerine also give it a distinct tartness. I love it because while being a fruity perfume, it's absolutely not cloying. To my nose, I smell a lot of plum accompanied by rose and the vanilla/tonka combo. I think it would work best in colder weather or on a summer evening as it's a warm, comforting scent. I love the message NEH wishes to convey with the Light : " The Light invites you to choose the light and joyful path. When you acknowledge your whole being from a place of love, you can cast away that which doesn’t serve you and release your burdens. Open the door for your true essence to shine through. Prepare to bathe in your own light and let it guide you on your journey forward." Completely deserves to have been named finalist at the UK fragrance foundation awards ! Much love to NEH !

I can define the NEH concept as an equilibrium of the senses with the parts of our self, with the roots, with the family, with our pleasures and with the communion with nature. A balance in which each perfume reveals a meditative and contemplative state of mind and brings out parts of us that we have forgotten or have not seen yet. This mindfulness journey is perfectly reflected in this concept - the soul and the spirit connected to our six senses. The Light - light - is a sweet fruity fragrance, which reminds me of bliss, the pure happiness you feel when you connect with the sun.

This perfume is my new favourite! The tartness of the rhubarb combined with the sweetness of the plum and the rose gives this perfume something that makes it unique. It smells like stepping into a luxurious and peaceful spa in the middle of a verdant forest. It's probably better for fall and winter but I feel like because of its distinctive notes you could probably wear it all year round and have people compliment your scent. I'm also in love with the house's vision of mindfulness and well-being; the discovery of the year for me!

NEH The Light Parfum is fresh, soft, and really comforting. It has a clean, glowing scent that feels light and elegant without being overpowering. It sits beautifully on the skin, becomes a little warmer over time, and lasts for hours. I’ve even had people ask what fragrance I’m wearing. A perfect everyday perfume if you like something fresh, soft, and effortless. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s not that typical overwhelmingly sweet fragrance. Rhubarb is very distinct, tart, with significant amount of pink pepper and cinnamon which remind me of an incense, but in a good, non-standard way, slightly bitter

Tart, zingy fresh, uplifting but also relaxing. Gorgeous! It also feels a bit smokey or woody, I feel like im taking a beautiful, relaxing, zen walk in the forest.

Ooh I love this one! Citrus and pink pepper and that tart zingy rhubarb! It’s quite like Ame du Coeur which I also enjoy. Distinct enough to own them both

For me, Neh perfume feels like a real journey through scents. When I close my eyes and smell it, I feel like I’m walking under the sun with its warmth caressing my skin. I think Neh Light is truly addictive; you just can’t stop smelling it, and it feels very comforting. It also lasts really well on the skin, so you don’t need to reapply it all the time.

I can smell the fruit, but the mid also has a strong leather note to my nose. There's definitely some vanilla in the dry down. I think this would make a great evening or fall scent.

A fruity fragrance with some tartness.

I don't think this is sweet or fruity at all. Spicy and woody. The pink pepper is strong. And the tangerine makes this slightly bitter. The vanilla is somewhere in there. An interesting scent. Strong and longlasting. But not for me.

I really thought this one WOULD BE THE ONE I’d been looking for, but I TOTALLY get Vicks menthol rub from this too!!!! UGH. Such a bummer! It’s too bad to even try on skin. Bleh. It’s got to be a bad batch from my subscription service.

I was so surprised to not enjoy this perfume. I’m not sure what it is that gives it a camphor smell but it kind of reminds me of Vicks vaporub. It must just be what my nose can pick up, but it’s not for me

My favorite discovery off the year! Love the concept and the story behind each fragrance. Ordered the discovery set and The light did something to me on a emotional level. Very beautifull, calming and long lasting! Its in my top 5!
