The Opening

I can define the NEH concept as an equilibrium of the senses with the parts of our self, with the roots, with the family, with our pleasures and with the communion with nature. A balance in which each perfume reveals a meditative and contemplative state of mind and brings out parts of us that we have forgotten or have not seen yet. This mindfulness journey is perfectly reflected in this concept - the soul and the spirit connected to our six senses. The Opening - grounding - is an aromatic woody fragrance, meant to connect you with nature.

NEH The Opening is such a beautiful and intriguing fragrance. It starts off fresh and slightly spicy, then softens into gentle floral notes that feel warm and comforting. The woody base gives it a grounded, elegant finish that lasts all day. It’s sophisticated without being overwhelming, and I love how it feels calm, refined, and a little mysterious at the same time. Perfect if you enjoy woody, aromatic scents with a subtle spicy touch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Almost hypnotically aromatic, and very grounding, with the cardomom and pink pepper start, lavender/orris midsection and woody base. I attended Taraneh's scent ceremony (armed with a discovery set) which was very relaxing and provided space to enjoy and explore my reactions to NEH's scents. The Opening really spoke to me so I ordered a full bottle, and it came with a further discovery set, which was very generous.

I love the blend of this perfume, and I never get tired of it. At first, you immediately notice the spicy and woody notes, but after a while the floral side appears and every layer of the fragrance reveals itself. I can’t really connect this perfume to a specific journey; for me, it feels more like the beginning of a new chapter in life. It gives me the feeling of change, confidence, and a fresh start.

First impression; super piney and peppery with violets, like a dense forest with violets growing on the forest floor, and freshly ground pink pepper snowing down on top of everything. I got this same mental image both test wears, and I kind of like it though it's a new type of fragrance for me and therefore a bit of a challenge to wear. I also get fairly strong spa and sauna vibes from it. I find it relaxing and refreshing but I think I will have to be in a certain mood to wear it, not for everyday wear, at least I'm not there yet. So far it's a strong like. Unusual but it leaves an impression.

The opening first presents itself as a spicy fragrance thanks to the cardamom and pink pepper. Then, the violet, iris and lavender step in, enveloping you in a soft, powdery blanket while the woods create a long-lasting, dry and elegant base. Very interesting scent with a nice evolution throughout its lifetime. It has a similar DNA as Santal 33 by Le Labo but I find it to be less sour and a safer option. Really nice scent paired with a unique concept around mindfulness !

For me this is a Gin Tonic with cucumber and black pepper captured in a bottle. Fresh spicy definately but I can't really smell the woody notes in it.

Spicy potpourri, black pepper, vague florals on a woody base. Nice but nothing special.

At first all I got from this was freshly ground black pepper. Trying it again, I do smell the sandalwood with a hint of violet underneath. Even so the scent leans too sharp on me for my taste. It's warm, woody and dry with a refreshing spicyness. It's currently summer when I'm trying it and it's likely a better scent for colder weather, but I'll have to wait and see. Had a decant from Sniph and gave it to my sister. She said she only smells cedar wood.

The Opening reminds me of opening the door to a cedar closet that has mostly dried out. It has a few lavender sachets hanging on some hangers. It’s pleasant, I guess. It’s a very dry and clean woody scent. The comparison to Santal 33 is valid, although S33 is a little more complex.

The opening is a refined blend of sandalwood, cedarwood, vetiver, papyrus, gaiac wood, and sage, creating a warm, woody fragrance with plenty of depth. The combination feels smooth, earthy, and sophisticated while remaining balanced and easy to wear. Its elegant woody character makes it a versatile choice for both everyday wear and special occasions.
