Dark Season

I wish I could find a full bottle somewhere because I love this! Dark Season is all over the place, which (in most fragrances is not always a good thing) in this, it's what keeps it so mysterious. It's definitely sweet but not sickening. My description is going to sound very strange but it's what I smell. Dark Season takes me back to some pleasant memory in my childhood but I'm not exactly sure what. It does remind me of outdoors in the Piney Woods of East Texas. I can smell the cold air blowing through the thick woods with a mix of all different types trees and lots of pine. I get a slight hint of mushrooms and gasoline fumes that is a good smell. I use to get in trouble for smelling my dads zippo lighter but I loved the way the fume smelled and would sneak a tiny quick sniff every so often. I can smell that too in the background of this fragrance. I smell the inside cellophane from a brand new unsmoked pack of my dads Kent 100 cigarettes. I get cinnamon, patchouli and vanilla that comes and goes the whole time from first spray to the dry down. I'm telling you Dark Season is all over the place...but in a good way. I am so thankful for my sample and the opportunity to try this! I would have really missed out on something really unique. I'm trying to savor every last drop since it can't be found!

To me this is the perfect fall fragrance. The scent to me is a vivid memory of going to Micheal’s (craft store) in October. The first thing you smell is the cinnamon mixing with the oak moss and pine, a sweet and spicy mix that lingers for the entire wear. Patchouli and labdanam make their presence known a few minutes later and provide a sophistication to what would otherwise be a simple one note fragrance. As it fades the warmer notes of “dark” vanilla (not gourmand, more tonka like) and myrrh mix with the lingering cinnamon/moss and leave a calm scent in its wake. This fragrance has amazing projection and lasts all day. One of my 10/10 fragrances especially for the fall.

This is brooding, introverted, spicy, and dark. I'm picking up a lot of cinnamon, but thankfully, no apples. I'm loving the way the myrrh, oakmoss, patch, and labdamun are playing off of each other, but the fir isn't letting it sink too far.

Dark Season is a smoky woods/rich, dusty amber scent that smells of the dramatic tenebrism of all those old, spooky gothic novels and musty 19th-century weird fiction, of ancient landscapes and loam, the soot of pine logs, ghostly smoke and sifting snow in a strangely lit field, a somber ochre, an umbral amber, frost-rimmed branches scraping a scrim of leaden sky, footprints vanishing in freshly fallen snow, the creak of the wind whistling around standing stones, something terrible let loose in the dark, something that eventually fades until it's nothing more than an unquiet feeling or a cold shiver on a warm day.

I have to agree with Baseeta. I get major cinnamon from this. Not a bad scent at all. The dry down is awesome.
