October

When I was searching for what I most wanted in a fall fragrance, I ended up with exactly one result and it was this. I just got it in the other day and wore it yesterday, and unfff aw yeah. There is a LOT going on in this fragrance and I was curious whether that would, y'know, work, especially with things like pine in the mix, which I wasn't sure how it would mesh for what I was going for ("all the / fall things"). But yeah! It was love at first sniff!! Just immediately, so spicy-fruity. The apple hits you, and there's a rounded but very prominent cinnamon, then pumpkin, sugar, orange. The tiniest backdrop of a forest. It goes together so well yet I could pick out almost each note distinctly without it interrupting the whole, which smells a lot like mulled cider. Ths wore on me almost completely linear, the main change being that the apple prominence gives way to a cinnamon prominence, but I've zero complaints that it doesn't stray too far from its start, and the apple does actually remain for a long time. The pine is there but never overwhelms, and mostly I just get incredibly sweet smells. Someone said they didn't think it was very sweet, but I disagree. It's not cloying, but hnnngg sugar. The sillage is pretty decent, projection's moderate, and it lasts a long time. I remember reading someone comparing this to a candle scent and I can see that (I would buy it), however, I also find this fragrance wearable, drinkable (oh! I want to drink this, you don't know, my dude), and generally wonderful. I like this on skin and think it would lose some magic on fabric, though not all. It does feel like it hugs the unisex and feminine range. I would also only wear this in fall and winter, based on the weather, and I think it could be a day or night fragrance about equally. This is a love for me for sure, and I do want to spring for a bottle as well as get some more samples. Overall, I think I'd rec October to anyone who wants to smell like mulled cider or the good parts of a fall festival, full of caramel apples and cinnamon twists. There's no pastry smell here but it's such a delicious, food-and-decor coded thing, I can't not think of something really tasty. This is sugar and joy and so cozy, I want to get lost in it. Signature fall frag material in my book, so glad I decided to try it.

October... What a lovely construction! More than October I would have named this “December at the chalet”. It is a warm, spicy fragrance. Don’t think oriental when I mention spices, as it is not. This is more a cozy scent than an oriental/diva one. It would be ideal in the winter months as it evokes the coziness of a room heated by a fire, while drinking some mulled wine and eating cinnamon biscuits or an Apfelstrudel. Indeed the initial blast of cinnamon, mixed to orange peel oil, apples cooking, clove and cardamom evoke that; at the very beginning, for just a second, there is some green note (or citrus?) but it is almost unnoticeable. Almost no flowers are present in this composition (NM mentions carnation but I was not able to isolate it from the others). The base is a blend of woodsy & resinous notes: cedar, pine, frankincense. After an hour it morphs into a soft, subdued smokey/resinous scent... very charming and comforting, but be sure to love this type of fragrance (think Ambre Narguilé), it is nothing for the summer or for cologne-only lovers. On my side I really appreciate it; now all the series is really an unicorn....

No reviews?? This one is perfect! Warm, cozy and feminine. Reminds me the smell of spicy cookies dunked in coffee with a hint of woodsy notes that prevent this scent of beeing totally gourmand. Developes into something sweet and pathoulish. The lasting power is great are you sure about edp? I think it's parfum and the label says the same. I love it :)

I love this perfume and it's autumn, spicy incense vibe! I'm looking for a bottle if anyone wants to swap it!

From the description on this website, October sounded like the perfect perfume for me- exactly what I was looking for! I ordered a small sample from the Neil Morris website, and was so excited when I got it in the mail. It even came with a little signed note from Neil himself! However, this fragrance is not one I would recommend to wear. It smells like a heavy blend of myrh and incense, with the apple disappearing within a minute and a half. October is definitely more suited to a home fragrance than a perfume.

I so wanted to love this fragrance.I'd been waiting so long to try it,and Neil Morris' delicious frankinsense and orange bomb "Afire" is one of my favourites.I expected this to be similar but with apple instead of orange.But..oh dear. Rather than smelling like baked apple covered in brown sugar it's more like putting your nose into a cup full of TCP.It's too heavy on the cinnamon and myrrh,giving it an overwhelming medicinal pong which swamps all other notes,including the apple. Oh well.Now I know. I'm still very keen to sample other Neil Morris perfumes which are always unique and intriguing,including this one.It's just not my cup of tea,that's all.

I received a sample of this to try because the notes and description sounded great to me. Unfortunately, this was a scrubber, and I could hardly get it off of me. It’s so strong and long-lasting, which would be good if you like it. I only got a very bitter, sharp orange smell and strong incense with cinnamon. It stayed that way from opening to dry down, and somehow only got more masculine smelling as time went on. It's masculine leaning and I didn’t detect any sweetness. The smell actually began to bother me as I was wearing it. It reminded me of walking into a hippie shop where they burn strong, heavy incense. I thought I liked incense, but I don’t in fragrances. I’m not a fan of orange in fragrance either. Not for me, but I can see how it might be for some!

From the beginning, please forgive the possible incoherence in ideas. I write them exactly as they come ... I will definitely come back with some additions and further edits ... Neil Morris called it October. I would call it November or December. This man does not make niche perfumery, but rather indie. It is experimental as someone said when he first described it to me. It is a perfume of state, of life, of emotion rather than a perfume per se. It's clearly unisex. For me, wearable. Although someone else on .com claims that it would be an ambient, home fragrance. I wonder what the performance of the extract would be, if the edp is like this... wow! I would describe it as linear, without special transformations after spraying. It has caramel and pumpkin, but it's not sweet. It is resinous from opoponax, pine and myrrh, but it does not lead at all to churchy or to Christmas tree aroma as you would expect. It is complemented by carnation but it has nothing floral, it is more like an essential oil of carnation. The bitter orange is strongly felt from the beginning until the drydown with the same intensity. It's like a tincture, boozy and resinous. I was impressed by this creation and ,you know, that not many perfumes impress me anymore. Blow my mind! That's it ! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is truly "Autumn in a bottle!" Gorgeous notes that conjure up New England in the fall - leaf note, cinnamon, pumpkin, patchouli, apple, caramel etc. all combine to captivate the nostrils. I have a strong feeling that this long-lasting, strong scent would make a nice pot pourri or candle and I am therefore a bit unsure about wearing it outside the house, but it is stunning nonetheless.

Very accurate imitation of October smell. Apple is quite prominent - but don't expect sour apple, it's warm apple stored amongst other harvest, perhaps even baked and coated in sugar. The fragrance is sweet, I can smell pumpkins as well as cinnamon and caramel. Lasts long.

The moment I sprayed this on my arm, I could envision October's bright blue weather. I loved the apple note and the myrrh and incense blended so well with the cinnamon and vanilla. This lasted on my arm for many hours. What a gem this is.
