Nejma 2

Having worn NEJMA TWO now through about one-third of my 100 ml bottle, I can say that I really love this perfume. The rose is voluptuous and the oud is detectable but not at all rank or rubbery or scary, as I have found some authentic oud notes to be. It might be that the oud is being tempered here by the sandalwood, but whatever the case, this simply smells great. This particular combination of these notes reminds me a lot of some of the Montale rose oud perfumes. There is just a touch of the musty old attic scent in this composition (as in WHITE AOUD and LOUBAN), but it is more in the background and does not crowd out the rose or the oud in the least. To me this is a perfect middle eastern rose scent: rich and full and opulent. Although I have criticized the oud madness currently underway, I truly believe that both Montale and Nejma know what they're doing and have earned the right to peddle their oud wares. Long after all of the fly-by-night niche houses and their pseudo-oud perfumes have been relegated to the dustbin of history, I expect Montale and Nejma to continue to produce their splendid and authentic middle eastern-inspired perfumes. On my skin, the longevity of this creation is excellent. I love to wear NEJMA TWO to bed and awaken to the lush scent of dark roses wafting off my warm body in the morning. The scent does not decay or degrade over time, and even smells better eight hours after it is applied, as it seems to blend well with the natural scent of my skin.

It's the singularity of notes balanced like an Ikebana flower arrangement in Nejma Two that makes it work. Thus a carefully measured creation has resulted in a simple complexity. Sounds like an oxymoron, I know, but that's how I experience it. Very rosy and 'attar' like, of course, and that's what I was expecting. Bought blind from a discounter it utterly delighted me. It is quite linear in developing, lacking the competing cacophony of too many notes thrown together in the interest of 'exotica' and novelty, found in today's perfumery. It's lasting power is average, sillage not a sledgehammer. It's settled down to a fluffy cushion filled with dried rose petals which exude breaths scented with santal and gentle oudh. Montale's 'Attar' is a slightly more curvaceous version of Nejma Two. All in all, I'm rather pleased with it and will wear it throughout the year. Wish it would last longer though on my skin.

Nejma 2 is a beautiful rose and oud scent with a distinctive arabian style, air and presence. The start is slightly medicinal due to the oud that takes centre stage for about 30 minutes; a gentle bulgarian rose makes its entrance and lasts for several hours until the sandalwood drydown kicks in slowly but surely. The whole experience is beautiful, peaceful and very soothing. The scent is very powerful so 2 full sprays on your chest are enough to keep you perfumed for most of the day. Great longevity and sillage. Big thumbs up!

The pyramid isn't full here, I also feel either cloves or carnations, aldehydes in the opening, lots of powdery ylang ylang (which makes this perfume so attractive: rose and the powderiness of ylang, yum). There is also patchouli in the base. Indeed it reminds me a lot of Regal, however Nejma Two is a richer, stronger composition. Basically it's a loud powdery woody rose. I would say this perfume and Three are the best from the line.

Just bought it blind based on the reviews below. Got a good price. This is truly an amazing composition. Opening is strong but blends into magical dry-down of Rose and Oud. Not Feminine, not masculine, just an an amazing scent, that could not be dismissed or not appreciated by anybody! Yes, Rose is the dominant component but you can not stop wanting more! Lasts 8+ hours on my skin. Sad that the brand is poorly represented in the US
