Nejma 5

After experiencing this perfume in the Mojave, the bergamot mostly evaporates and the nectarious fruit and oud harmonize very well with the Bulgarian rose. A beautiful desert wear. Like Nejma 4 though, the bergamot sometimes encroaches in the manner of sprezzatura. A bitter citrus opener. After that, once things heat up, there is sweet nectarine, blackberry spice with a soft rose. It is more like fresh blackberry granita with nutmeg and an oud krumkaka waffle cookie than anything crema. There simply is nothing lactonic about this; no butter, no vanilla, no mysore.

NEJMA FIVE is a fairly old school, slightly sweet floral perfume with a big emphasis on narcissus. I happen to like narcissus, so to me this is rather appealing. Anyone who dislikes big fat floral fragrances more generally, or narcissus in particular, will not like this composition. A very feminine and golden oriental--matching perfectly the bottle--NEJMA FIVE is best suited to cooler weather, whether fall or winter, and probably is better for night than for daytime wear. I do not catch very strong wafts of oud in this particular member of the series, certainly not as strong as in NEJMA TWO and THREE, which combine rose with equal strength oud. But I like this one, for what it is. In order to appreciate this creation, it must be applied sparingly. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it is closer to pure perfume than eau de parfum. Does NEJMA FIVE smell like "flyspray", as another reviewer maintains? No, not at all. The materials here are of high quality, according to my nose. Comparing this niche perfume to flyspray makes it sound as though it is a gross vat-produced synthetic juice, which this certainly is not. My suspicion is that the reviewer simply hates big fat old school floral fragrances, which this one certainly is.

Nejma 5 is an old-fashioned kind of perfume to my nose, but I mean that in a positive way: it's rich, complex, luxurious, mature, very feminine. It's not something that I would have sought out myself, since I tend to go for brighter, more modern and often unisex scents, but I got a sample of this one by chance and I do really like it. The opening is just a little sharp, or maybe just too much "classical perfume" for me, but it soon settles down, and for the next couple of hours the combination of warm, soft oriental notes with the peach that is the main star of the fragrance is very nice indeed. It's the kind of scent that can make me feel like another person, someone more ladylike than myself - which can be very nice from time to time, although I'd never get very much wear out of this one since I do prefer to be myself most of the time (luckily!)

This is a gourmet of fragrance, SO complex i could hardly pin down all the notes, but they're VERY high quality. A poetic, complex Oudh, more on the sweet fruity side, Not linear like some other Oudh oils. Tturns slightly acidic later on. Dry down is a sweet precious fruity musk.... Now that i realize, it reminds me of Pi Givenchy in this sweet amber like thing Very well done. #5 is a nice one.

This is an evening fragrance all the way, best worn during late fall and/or winter. Deep fruity-floral smell rounded with accords of amber and oud.
