Nejma 7

I recently purchased this fragrance and I am adoring it ! Firstly I must say that out of the whole Nejma line the no. 7 is the only one that appealed to me, the rest I found quiet horrible (apart from no. 6, which is basically a softer and fruitier version of no. 7 in my opinion) and I am normally very open minded and like a large range of fragrances. I do not know why no one has mentioned here but to me this smells like sweet almonds. It is literally the only thing I am getting and even throughout the day I get whiffs of sweet almonds. I am incredibly surprised to see that the top notes are citrus as I do not get any of that at all. Maybe it works completely differently on my body chemistry. It is a very comforting, warm, cozy scent. It is a gourmand, however definitely not cloying or overly sweet. Incredibly long lasting, which is why Nejma is worth the price for me. Now that the weather is turning colder I am enjoying it even more. I believe it is very well suited for a winter perfume. Personally I imagine it could get a little nauseating in the hot and humid weather as it quiet strong and sweet. Nonetheless I am truly loving this perfume. 2 sprays goes a long way ! The bottle design is also to die for !

Wow, really conflicting opinions on this gem. I have a 10ml decant of this that I am dreading hitting the bottom of because it is far and away one of my favorite summer scents. It's the scent I crave, the one that gets spritzed on when I'm sad or the weather is grey and crappy. Nejma 7 is different than anything else I own. It is sweet, without being sugary, rich without being suffocating. It's everything that shouldn't work in the summer but that is when she sings. On my skin Nejma is coconut, citrus, and beautiful oud. I don't get any cocoa at all I'm afraid. It's oud dipped in honey (though that isn't a note, perhaps the combination of mandarin and coconut create this illusion) dripping and succulent. I feel like royalty when I wear this, it feels like I should be wearing a crisp white dress, napping in the shade surrounded by the grounds of a palace garden thick with blossoms and buzzing with bees. It's rich and addicting. The fragrance lasts all day and a few sprays is all you need. I can't imagine that being a bad thing (who wants weak watery perfume???) but be gentle if you are an over sprayer.

People who voted Nejma 7 similar to Truth or Dare: please stop. Or check both fragrances again. It's like comparing McDonald's to a high end restaurant. Now, don't get me wrong, I like Truth or Dare but it is nothing like Nejma 7. I see the cocoa note could be what makes them somewhat similar but that's about it. The Oud in Nejma 7 is really amped up and natural, it is mouthwateringly juicy and sweetened by the creamiest coconut and fully ripe citrus. As much as gourmand it is, cocoa is not chocolatey, it is full flavor cacao beans, albeit subdued in the background, but everything is so well blended together and smooth, it is hard tell which note is the most prominent. It is a safe choice for those who fear the rubber-like harsh, sometimes medicinal oud, this oud is tame, cultured and wearable all year round. Leans slightly feminine in my opinion, but a man can absolutely pull this off too. Honestly I can't stop sniffing my arm when wearing this. If you like Tom Ford Noir or Noir Extreme, definitely check Nejma 7...

Nejma 7 is a very special fragance. It has the oriental vibe that we can find in Many other fragances with the oud and the patchouli but mixed with a very tropical and creamy character given by the coconut. The cocoa give ti the fragance some sweetness and the neroli and the citrus notes some freshness, very noticeable at the opening. The longevity is good and the sillage is moderate, with a medium projection for a long time. It is unisex although maybe It Will be liked more for women. This can be a nice oriental option for summer nights ir even for daytime. During the daytime on summer It is a bit sweet but i cant say still that It really wont work since the coconut and the neroli make me think of the beach and the Sun. As much as the opening may be harsh, the drydown is to die for, believe me. The coconut has an immaculate feeling to it because of everything that supports it in the background. In the opening you get all the citruses mixed with coconut and cacao a little and after around half an hour you get to the deal. BOOM coconut, BOOM more coconut, BOOM coconut supported by patchouli, AND BOOM coconut with both patchouli and oud. Lovely, lovely, lovely. The performance dissapointed me, I can not lie. I expected more sillage but after around 2 hours with 6 sprays it turns into a skin scent. It stayed on my skin for around 6-7 hours which is good but with enough sillage, OH MY GOD WHAT WE COULD HAVE ACHIEVED! 8/10

Coconut & Cacao! Yummy gourmand goodness! Right off the bat I get delicious, creamy coconut & sweet cacao. The coconut being a bit more pronounced. A few seconds in I smell the citrus notes, but they're only there for a brief moment before they fade again. In the late dry-down I detect the oud, but very faintly. I'm not a fan of oud myself, but in Nejma 7 it's really subtle and only makes for a solid base for the coco & cacao mixture to hold on to. It works perfectly! It has very good longevity and strong to moderate sillage. It takes 3 to 4 hours before it gets close to the skin and even when it does, it's still very noticeable! Wonderful fragrance for gourmand lovers, excellent quality! ♥♥♥♥♥

Nejma 7...On fist whiff, I swooned. The notes, Green Mandarine, Citrus of Calbria, Pink Grapefruit, Neroli Flower, Cacao, Coconut, Wood of Aoud, White Musk, and Patchouly (notes taken from the sample card) would have drove me away if I had simply read them. I don't like patch or chocolate, and I never understood the fascination with putting citrus with chocolate. Until now. This chocolate is not cloying or heavy or too sweet. It's lifted up from the depths by the citrus. The patch gives it just a hint of herb and the coconut, again a note I would have dismissed, seems to keep is from being too formal.The oud is unobtrusive and doesn't draw too much attention away from the other notes.

Got this as a free sample and was so amazed by how gorgeous this is. Grabbed the 100ml. online with a huge discount (buy 1 get 1 for 50% off) A bit of lemon in the opening, and right away it develops to a sweet coconut cacao comforting bubble with some white flowers, perfectly balanced by the oud. I find it to be truly unisex, husband and son wear it too. However, after 2 hours the scent is barely there... very subtle skin scent.. The sample lasted longer, maybe it was the extrait version? I have no doubts about the authenticity of the bottle.

This is a really lovely fragrance. Glancing at the list of notes above you would be forgiven if you expected a sickly sweet confection. The perfumer has managed to beautifully balance the opening notes of cocoa, orange, coconut and oud. The oud here is not too strong or but it plays its invaluable part enhancing and grounding these three main notes. I do detect the citrus notes in the opening and they definitely help to not allow this fragrance to get heavy and cloying. Impressive sillage and longevity.

This Fragrance is a Needle in a Haystack. It was recommended to me by someone who works at a Perfume store, i wore it for a wedding not to long ago, and got ask about it a few times, Its a unique blend of Fresh citrus, Coconut and Chocolate all round into one. Very elegant/formal - better in the evening/night - Preferably colder but warn can pass. Long lasting +7hrs, (better on clothes), Projects within and arms length. You'll defiantly get noticed, as I haven't smelt something like this before. 9 /10

Gourmand heaven. Chocolate, coconut, citrus, patchouli - this is a scent I have been looking for - for a long time. This might sound very strange, but if you combined Colours by Benetton from 1992 with Angel from 1995 and Samsara from 1992 - this would be the result. Familiar, creamy warmth but with a modern twist. It’s a must for me. Unisex maybe, but it’s very sexy on me. I can’t get enough of it. If you like coconut, you will love this. New favourite. Well - after Over The Musk by Mugler ;)

Doesn't have lemon, in a man smells amazing!!! The fragrance its completely different than any other kind of sweetness, its sensual and chic!

This is such a nice scent but it's gone in 60 seconds.

This was on my radar years ago, but I couldn’t sample it so I moved on. Then I saw it on Fragrancenet for $100 so I blind bought. I’m a sucker for anything tropical. I’m a bit mixed about how I feel with this scent. On the one hand, it’s a great blend, very intoxicating, sweet, rich. It just isn’t very strong. I let my bottle sit for 3 months hoping it would improve, but it’s a scent you need to overspray to smell, and even then it’s quite soft and mellow. It’s currently spring weather, I feel like this poor baby would burn right off in the summer sun. When I initially test sprayed I got most of the listed notes. I really don’t get much citrus from this though, which is strange. Definitely oud and patchouli, mostly a sort of toasted coconut musk that comes of like the “cashmere woods” note that dominated summer flankers of designer scents over the past few years. After letting my bottle sit awhile, I gave it a proper test and I upon sniffing the nozzle and myself after spraying, I KNEW this scent already... then I realized this smells like, 90% similar or more to D&Gs The Only One Intense for women. That flanker has nothing to do with any other D&G the One flankers, or the mens version, and the names are confusing as hell, but it’s an awesome scent that is very close to this. Another scent this reminds me of a bit is Muglers Alien Goddess, except AG has Alien DNA where it’s somewhat synthetic. 7 smells less like AG but I do feel like they’d be in the same genre. The Only One Intense is much closer, the notable differences are that TOOI is a bit sweeter, a bit more femme, it’s musky base is more “cashmere woods” than the patchouli musk in 7, TOOI is also soft but can be oversprayed to perform better and once done, it’s rich and long lasting through the heat and will last on clothes for a few days. 7 can’t really be oversprayed and it vanishes rather quickly. I’m guessing 7 was reformulated sometime when the reviews went from boasting of the eternal lasting power to the more recent ones saying it’s short lived. Ultimately I’d recommend D&Gs The Only One Intense for Women for people still looking for this scent. If you’re male and want something a bit more unisex, you could try layering a light nice patchouli over TOOI to make it more similar to 7. I’d recommend TOOI both because it performs better but also it’s half the price, if 7 is still around that is, because it seems like it may be discontinued. I’m undecided whether to resell my bottle. I may just use it instead of TOOI until the true summer heat sets in. It does smell so nice, it’s just redundant in my collection.

Lots of perfumes with coconut notes get it entirely wrong, and you have to be careful the notes you pair it with, white florals neroli and jasmine and it can resemble cheap sunscreen, too gourmand a line up of accompaniments and it gets too sweet and cloying. Put lime or fruity notes with it and it becomes a pina collada or summer Exotic cocktail now I’m not saying all of these don’t work rather that it has to be a balanced use of these elements which can be said for perfume compositions in much broader terms. Anyway....Nejma 7 gets this coconut centric blend absolutely and entirely correct. Opulent, sweet and gourmand yet tempered with bitter cacao and a hint of patchouli with good quality woods and oud in the base, this is a really decent and relatively long lasting gourmand. Not quite interesting enough to love but a definite like and something gourmand and certainly coconut lovers should try because you’d be hard pressed to find anything with more quality. This is perfectly wearable for a man but I still have a instinct that it’s more feminine. Reminds me a little of Odin Roam 10 I even get a bit of the smooth, opulent and spicy ebony wood from this too.

Didn’t get much citrus, straight into warm, sweet coconut on my skin. With a smell of orange blossom. And a warm woody, patchy base. You can smell the touch of oud, it’s not animalic or barnyardy, it’s just that very strong rich woody scent. There is far less citrus in this than in Virgin Island Water. And there’s no chocolate. Not even bitter cacao. The coconut is slightly synthetic smelling, but aren’t they all? I have lots of coconut fragrances and this one is nowhere near as chemical smelling as Mancera (Coco Vanille and Holidays) and nowhere near as synthetic ‘sunscreen’ smelling as Holidays. Although the coconut and neroli (smells like orange blossom) and lack of strong citrus does give it a bit of a sunscreen vibe until the drydown after at least 30mins, so if you’re not looking for that I’d look elsewhere. Basically a coconut orange blossom fragrance until they drydown, then coconut with a warm sweet woody-patch base, that lasts due to the oud. Edit: dries to a coconutty warm amber, with a hint of floral still lingering.

Nejma 7 is my first try from Nejma, and seemingly one of the line's more discussed entries, and certainly one that sounds like it'd be my alley, as a sweet gourmand. The experience is very much the same, as it's a coconut-dominant gourmand with darker elements as well. A mixed boozy feeling accompanies a mix of cocoa and and patchouli/oud base but for me, this is quite sweet still hours after applying. It feels tip-of-the-tongue sweet, though. A deep, rich sweetness is lacking, as is multidimensionality. It's enjoyable but leaves me wanting more. At $138 for 100ml at Macy's, Nejma 7 is a tough sell since, as far as gourmands go, it feels far less elegant that the higher-quality entries in this category. It feels far more analogous to Zara Tobacco Collection Rich/Warm/Addictive with its similar coconut dominance (at $20 for 100ml, granted, a steal for its quality) than it does a Guerlain Gourmand Coquin (at $260 for 75ml). Good but not great, and I'm content with a decant in lieu of a bottle. 7 out of 10

This gourmand oud reminds me quite a lot of Micallef perfumes. Not of any particular MM fragrance, rather of MM's style in general. Unlike the previous reviewers, I do regard the oud note here as quite a prominent one (in Western perception, of course). However, it is smoothed out by the (huge to be completely honest) amount of sweetness. Overall impression: Nejma Seven is a dark chocolate bar with some little orange peel particles... on a woody table ;) The base is relatively unisex, however, I don't see Seven on a man, because it's way too sweet. 7's ongevity seems to be about right. Give it a try if you are attracted to woody gourmands and classy caramels ;) Micallef fans might also find it pretty.

Two perfume buddies had told me that this is one of their all-time favourite perfumes, so I had high expectations and I was a bit disappointed. The opening is very basic to me and nothing special. The drydown is very nice, but overall the perfume lasts very little on my skin and I expected better longevity.

Coconut, cocoa, lemon. Whenever I vacation in the Caribbean, I will wear this gourmand fragrance. Fragrance: 8/10, Longevity: 9/10, Sillage: 8/10, Flacon: 7/10.

The opening is so harsh I almost didn't make it to the drydown, which is nice. I get zero softness. On me it's screechy and loud the whole way through. I do enjoy the creamy coconut but that's just okay, nothing special.

On first spritz I smell lots of sweet notes and some fresh citrus notes. Soon, the citrus fades a bit and I can smell coconut and hints of oud & woody notes. Then, musk, a light one, more fresh and sweet notes. The drydown is a sugary sweet scent on a base of woody notes with a hint of metallic oud. Sillage and longevity are moderate on me. This scent is a bit too sweet for me, it is almost like sugar on my skin. Also, it's powered by iso-e-super which is not my favorite. I'll pass on this one, but if you like gourmand ouds, give this one a try!

It’s pretty.unisex leaning feminine, men that like this one, but want a more masculine vibe I’d say Xerjoff Naxos 1861 is slightly similar. it’s nice but nothing groundbreaking. Very pleasant and easy to wear. A bit sexy. It’s compared on here to the unfortunately discontinued rarity Madonna Truth Or Dare Naked. Maybe a little but I actually think that one is better than this! This one is more mainstream than that.

Quite a gourmand opening with a little dab of the citrus leaves. Some well blended coconut and cocoa create the sweetness. Not very chocolatey but not strongly coconut either, both just discernible. After a while some shy patchouli peeks in and a barely there oud. I was hoping for more of a showing from the oud, but, sadly no. Mostly a gourmand oriental fragrance with a little patchouli thrown in.

To me smells similar to D&G The only one Intense with Paco Rabanne Fame. Very sweet. Tropical. I get coconut mango, (?) orange, neroli and a lot of sugar. The patchouli is not very obvious but you can detect it if you try. I still have to give it a proper wear (got a sample) but I think this is rather soft.

Getting some erba pura vibes, but this is a much better version. Tropical, fruity, but more fresh, more gourmand less pulpy than erba pura. I love the citruses in this. Coconut is not overwhelming, there is a nice musky undertone that makes it very unisex.

This is actually a very nice light gourmand. In the same ballpark as Zara tobacco I tried layering it with memo irish leather and it works beautifully!

I think "Le Rêve Nirmala Molinard" is better option. Much cheaper and better smell, more fresh, not so strong like this one.

The neroli is shy to appear here , but the coconut is bold to stand up while the citrus has a bold point

Cocoa...really? More like one of those fruitcakes that claim to be chocolate (similar to Angel)
