Jannatul Firdaus

It's like an Indian shop with shelves filled with all kinds of incense, and another one is burning, leaving a divine trail of sandalwood plus something. The incense mixes and forms a blend of all scents together making them an indistinguishable mess, but somehow divine. As long as i know Jannat ul Firdaus means "the smell of heaven", and if heaven exists it probably smells like this. It's totally intoxicating. I never wear attars as "serious perfumes", it would be weird walking around smelling like an esoteric shop and there is nothing Western in them, yet they are better than any Western perfume ever made. I cannot live without them and always wear them before going to sleep of when I come home to relax. Since they are oils and there is no alchohol in them they can be used in the vaporizer, and have the same efffect as incense, just without the toxic smoke. They are works of art, just in an Eastern style. Nemat attars are also incredibly cheap. I paid around $8 on each bottle. They are very small bottles, but one drop will overpower the whole room.

I detect a gigantic sudsy bar of pure white soap. For straight up aldehydes, try Nemat's Gardenia. However, if it is fresh, creamy white bubbles you are after, Jannatul Firdaus is as soapy as they come. Yes, there is indeed some green sharpness at the opening, but it is nowhere near as sharp or shrill or synthetic smelling as Kuumba Made's Zen Rain (though I do think both scents are in the same family). I would love to be able to compare Nemat's Jannatul Firdaus with other brands' renditions in order to see how quintessential this version is. Forgive me for not being able to draw any comparisons in that respect. However, for those looking for a perfect unisex bar of Dove facsimile perhaps with a hint of Irish Spring, don't rule this one out. I wish I had know about it sooner. Doesn't smell cheap or plasticy like much of the CLEAN, and Philosophy brands of similarly soapy scents. I also prefer it to the Demeter brand's assortment of soapy offerings.

LOVE IT. I can't believe I've just now discovered Nemat oils. I bought this plus the infamous Amber and mixed them together. This combo is a stunning summer fragrance. I find this particular scent cooling and refreshing. It's like if citrus and floral had a baby. Or maybe it's simply citrus fruit plus citrus flowers. There's a punchiness or sharpness to the note, but I don't find it distressing in any way. Nor do I find this just like a bar of soap! A generic soap scent I would categorize as yawn-inducing in a way, whereas this feels invigorating and potentially cleansing. For reference I bought the 5 ml bottles without a roller-top. I put one wrist on the top of the bottle, turned the bottle upside down, then rubbed my wrists together. (Did this with both Amber and Jannatul Firdaus.) I'm DELIGHTED. The pair of oils was under $20 with tax. I'll be buying more from this brand for sure!

I think this was my first encounter with aldehydes and oh boy, it clicked for me. There’s something too proper about it to be an entirely soapy-soap fragrance, but it’s still clean. It’s also a bit masculine, (thanks to the citrus, I believe?) which is lovely! It makes me picture someone reading next to an open window in the springtime. A breezy day when the air is starting to smell lively and warm again!

I fell in love with this immediately. It takes me to citrus groves on a beautifully warm day: not just the fruit, but the leaves and the woody tones of the trees. As the drydown develops it does become soapier, but its heart remains the same. I've no qualms in wearing this about town; it's neither the smell of a headshop or a hippy shop. Just a beautiful, highly affordable fragrance that merits its name.

I have been searching for the soapiest fragrance imaginable and I finally found it one day at the natural foods co-op of all places. Someone else said pure white Dove soap and that is a perfect description. Dove soap, dry floral, and powder. Not very complex and doesn't last very long, but clean as can be.

I bought this because it reminded me of church incense. Now I recognize the aldehydes, one of my greatest aldehydic perfumes! It's more masculine (cologne-like) than the likes of White Linen of Chanel No 5 - I think you will love this if you love aldehydes. Super strong and long-lasting.

Fresh soapy, lightly tinged with church incense fragrance. Skin scent even though it lasts a while. Dries down to a light soapy wood. Very pleasant and inoffensive.

This is very soapy and VERY strong, and this isn't my scent profile, but I definitely can't call this scent bad. It's very unique and even refreshing in its own soapy kind of way. I respect Nemat's decision, and if you like this and can rock this, kudos to you! This could also be good for layering to achieve some unique combos.

I decided to try this because of a review I saw that said it smells like Irish Spring Soap and it sure does. I wanted to try one of Nemat's more masculine scents and to me, this one matches what I was looking for. The opening is very soapy and warm. It's not a light, soapy scent like Himalayan musk (which I also like.) It definitely has a punch to it, but I like it. I gotta say the best part is the dry down. I noticed a subtle sweetness come out of nowhere and it just smelled so good, clean, and masculine. I love this one.

crisp, clean and sweet- sometimes it's really refreshing to smell like soap. This approaches a screechiness that might give me a headache in a different orientation, but stops short. I layered this with snif sweet ash on a whim and it cut down some of that screechy note and made a creamy sweet blend that I prefer over both alone.

This "green garden of paradise fragrance" has a ton of aldehydes in it. And, as a reviewer below correctly notes, Jannatul Firdaus by Nemat bears a striking resemblance to Irish Spring soap and body wash.
