Nag Champa

I like this a lot. At first, I wasn't sure.. there was too much of a yellow floral dominating, like a magnolia honeysuckle mix that was a bit too screechy, but it mellows out, and then you can appreciate the green honey dew covered leaves mixed with a floral bouquet that it turns into.. not to mention it does start to smell like the Nag Champa incense sticks.. but in a clean way, without the smoke. Oh it is a lovely attar. I believe that it will get better the longer it ages and macerates. I will revisit it in a few months to see how it develops.

Strange, I can’t really describe how this smells. I’ve worn it quite a bit and it was my go-to for classes, but I’m admittedly unfamiliar with nag champa incense so I don’t have much to go on. It’s flowery, a bit powdery and oddly reads as somewhat cold to me. This doesn’t smell quite deep or warm enough to read as murky-headshop-incense to me. It does smell like something old though, in a really pleasant, airy, and mellow way.

My Bal D’Afrique decant is low so I reached for this instead. They’re quite similar. Nag Champa is like an oiler, greasier version of Bal. The floral and green notes are strong and I get a hint of fruitiness too. The oil lasts on the skin pretty well although I don’t think it makes much a scent trail. I think this fragrance is great when you’re feeling artsy and creative. The dry down is similar to Nemat Amber.

Idk....It smells like when walk into an incense / smoke shop store. It radiates a long way but not too big of a fan. If you’re a fan of very airy / smokey scents then this is the one for you.

I get Ylang and Sandal. Yet, the notes are talking about tuberose and lily of the valley... maybe they changed the notes. Idk... if you want real Nag champa that smells EXACTLY like the incense sticks get Gothic ii or DelHi. But forewarning Gothic ii turns into og edp Shalimar on the dry down. Go easy on DelHi 1 spray!!
