Spicy Galanga

Olfactive Diary Entry #41 I just came across the entire range of Neo Cologne fragrances, which was a delightful discovery. My overall impression is that they are simplistic, yet, well-blended fragrances, that deliver way more than the classic definition of "cologne" usually would. The staying power is great. On skin, they last up to 6-8 hours, but on hair or clothes, they linger for 24 hours. The sillage is intimate, so the scent stays close to your skin. The whole range is alcohol-free, unisex, and contains a minimum of 85% natural ingredients. The bottles are refillable and recyclable. Spicy Galanga is an instant like! It is a bohemian, romantic scent, with pleasant aromatic notes. The person wearing this is bright, care-free, yet deep. The galanga comes through well, and is contrasted with the sweetness of Ginger Flower. Nothing mind-blowing going on here, but it is very likeable, warm scent that transports you to a spa in a warm country.

I really like Spicy Galanga about 20 minutes after the initial spray. It opens up beautifully into a spicy, sweet, sheer, nothing too common, delightful scent. However, first minutes are extremely challenging, as all NC creations open with a certain unpleasant, rancid initial blast. At first I was concerned it may last, but as I kept wearing both Spicy Galanga and Pomelo Glow (another fav by NC) I realized it was gone. If you're one to bear these very stressful minutes, Spicy Galanga will not disappoint. I personally got both Spicy Galanga and Pomelo Glow at a decent price and they are worth it, IMO.

The opening is great, freshly cut ginger, very natural and realistic. I find the dry down to be meh, there isn't a lot left and feels a bit generic. I only used one spray, it could be that this develops differently with more perfume used.
