Balinese Coconut Perfume Oil

Beachy, tropical, exotic, floral, lush, sweet, creamy, fresh, musky, powdery, salty, warm, feminine, chic, sensual, alluring, nostalgic, versatile On me this opens with a photorealistic coconut scent that’s slightly sweet, musky, a bit nutty, somewhat green, and with a touch of sea salt. As it dries down it becomes sweeter and more tropical smelling partly thanks to the exotic white floral sweetness of the Tiare flower. I also get some of a soft and natural monoi oil like scent, which makes sense considering the coconut and Tiare flower notes. I don’t pick up on any sun tan lotion scent, so this is a great choice for those who enjoy coconut fragrances, but prefer more natural smelling ones as opposed to the sun tan lotion like ones. This is fairly simple and linear scent, (although not completely linear because it does develop somewhat as it dries down, but not to the degree that a lot of perfumes do) but that doesn’t mean that it’s not beautiful, or somehow a lesser fragrance. The simplicity of it actually makes it rather appealing, unique, and versatile. Sometimes you don’t want a super complex scent, and just because this isn’t overly complex also doesn’t mean that it’s cheap smelling either because it’s definitely not. However, if you do want it to be more complex it layers extremely well with other fragrances, especially the other Nest oils. I very rarely ever layer my perfumes (other than with matching, or similarly scented body lotion), but this is one of the few that I do actually enjoy layering sometimes. I particularly enjoy it with Madagascar Vanilla (it adds a lovely sweet, warm, and creamy vanilla scent that also has its own touch of coconut) , and I also sometimes like to add South Pacific Sandalwood with them as well. I own all of the Nest perfume oils, so I’m looking forward to trying more combinations, especially with the Indian Jasmine and Seville Orange. To me, Balinese Coconut feels feminine, and like it can easily suit women of all ages. I prefer wearing it the most during the warm weather of late spring and summer. I think it’s a pretty versatile scent, so it’s suitable for the majority of occasions including work and/or school. I’m a big fan of Nest fragrances, so I own all of the perfume oils, and 3 of the regular perfumes (Sunkissed Hibiscus, Vanilla Bourbon, and Golden Nectar). My favorites are the 3 perfumes with Sunkissed Hibiscus being one of my all time top favorite perfumes. My favorites of the perfume oils are Balinese Coconut, Madagascar Vanilla, and South Pacific Sandalwood. I’m also a huge fan of beachy/coconut scents, and for reference some of my favorites include Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Kilian Sunkissed Goddess, Replica Beach Walk, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, Yves Rocher Monoi Eau des Vahines, JHAG Lust For Sun, JHAG Vanilla Vibes, Bobbi Brown Beach, Kayali Maui in a Bottle, Kayali Maldives in a Bottle, SDJ Coco Cabana/39, B&BW Coco Paradise I get great performance with Balinese Coconut. The longevity is very good, it lasts all day on me. The projection is nice, it radiates out at least an arm’s length from me.

I love coconut as well as the other Nest perfume oils, so I couldn’t wait to try this one! It wasn’t quite what I’d been expecting, but I still love it! It’s more of a green coconut smell if that makes sense. It’s a bit sweet, but not sweet like other coconut fragrances. There’s also a touch of Tiare flower and salt that I can pick up on. I didn’t love it at first, but after letting it sit on my skin for a little while it had become a prettier and slightly more sweet coconut! These Nest perfume oils are really great for layering (possibly because the scents aren’t too complex?)! I found that layering Balinese Coconut along with Madagascar Vanilla creates the kind of scent that I was expecting more with Balinese Coconut! I think these perfume oils are excellent for layering, especially if you’re new to it like I am! A little goes a long way with this! I get great longevity, it lasts the entire day! It also seems that people can smell me from about an arm’s length away! Balinese Coconut was my choice after buying the Sephora Favorites perfume sampler. The rest of the scents in the sampler were pretty blah to me (Daisy, Dylan Purple, Missing Persons, Gorgeous Gardenia, and Clean Reserve Skin), and Balinese Coconut stood out as something quite unique, so that's the one I chose for a full-size (30ml) bottle. Being an oil, it does sit fairly close to the skin, but it's long lasting on me. Balinese Coconut is VERY gourmand, and it is a man-magnet (or maybe just a human magnet). I can't even begin to describe how delicious this is, but to me it's like a baked coconut dessert, very warm and sweet. It's less like a tropical drink like a lot of summer coconut scents that lean gourmand rather than lotion-y. If you want to be the yummiest thing in the room, pair it with Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 71. The two combine to make some kind of spectacular tropical dessert. Like warm coconut rum cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chopped macadamia nuts (now I'm hungry).

I recently spent time in Miami. While walking around downtown Miami and Miami Beach, this scent would often waft by that smelled like coconut and vanilla. It was on the people who walked by and projected from the hotel lobbies. I told myself I needed to find out what this scent was. I went to Ulta when I returned from Miami and decided to test Balinese Coconut. Something about this scent reminds me of what I was smelling everywhere in Miami Beach for 2 weeks. Obviously this isn't what everyone in Miami was wearing, but it's close enough that it reminds me of my time there. I have tried both the perfume and the perfume oil and it seems like the spray lasts longer on me than the oil somehow. It's definitely on the weaker side but it smells amazing.

This smells so yummmm, I feel so luxx wearing this, and I'm so excited to wear this during the summer. The scent is a rly nice salty coconut that reminds me of swimming at the beach for way too long and still feeling the waves hours later at dinner. I have the travel size so It's easy to just reapply when needed, but I feel like it has pretty good projection and longevity for its price. Unlike other coconut scents this one dosen't smell like play doh which is a big plus lol. I've been searching for my perfect coconut musk, but I don't think this is the perfect match in that regard, it's not woody enough and it's too tropical. Regardless, this is a gorgeous, easy to wear scent.

i could not get enough of this when i first got it. it totally blossoms on the skin and envelops you in a warm, musky bubble. whoever thought about putting coconut with musk together i need to kiss u. think dinner in the bahamas, in a slinky dress. moisturized. selina kyle would smell like this id imagine. i even bought the body spray!! wore it religiously in the summertime. it’s been a couple months since august and putting it on now... it’s a bit simple? more floral? the richness of it seems to have disappeared. like it doesn’t have the bass in its voice anymore. hopefully it comes back or i must find a dupe that survives maceration

Compared to Madagascar vanilla, Balinese coconut is much more sweet and less musky/Smokey. It’s slightly salty and kind of like a breath of fresh air but with coconut trees all around. This isn’t an artificial sweet sickly coconut type of scent. It’s fresh, comforting and sophisticated. It’s not super in your face but you can definitely still smell it throughout the day. It’s like a whisper and not a shout. It’s really nice! I would have to say that this may just be my favourite out of the collection! Edit: I could see myself mixing this into my lotion all the time and making it a semi signature scent!

I think coconut is one of the most difficult notes to compose for in perfumery. Capturing a photorealistic coconut, without it smelling like sunscreen, tropical fruits, sickly sweet vanilla, or sugar water is very challenging and seldom done right. Balinese Coconut is one of the rare compositions that do coconut justice. It's coconut in all its glory; flesh, water and husk. The best coconut scent I've tested to date. Pure and perfect.

I’ve previously concluded coconut is one of my least favorite notes. I adore marine notes and fig, but have written off so many samples I’ve tried because I hate how those notes mix with coconut. I received a sample of this and am absolutely shocked that I love it? It must be the simplicity of it. I think it is comforting and just nice, like a bedtime scent. I doubt I will purchase when my sample is done... but maybe?

I am addicted to wearing this. It’s simple, but I get all the notes. It definitely gives me tropical vacation vibes, but not sunscreen and not too sweet, just a little. I love skin scents and I love things that don’t smell perfumey, but I do get wafts of this throughout the day so it does have some projection on me. And this is the first scent that my partner really loves. I’m going to get the sandalwood next.

I got this as a sample with one of my purchase's through NEST. I really like it! It's a sweet but mellow scent. You can smell a smidge of the sea salt, but overall it's mostly coconut. It's very subtle but lasts a long time, so you'll be smelling it throughout the day. I definitely recommend putting it on pressure points for the best effect.

I totally blind bought a travel size of this as I’m a sucker for sunscreen type scents. Love this it’s not too loud and just what I was looking for. The notes aren’t screechy and blend very nicely with each other and while coconutty the note doesn’t drown out the musk and salt making it balanced and very wearable. Love this

This is the best pure coconut scent in the market. There are a lot of scents I wouldn’t repurchase because I get bored easily.. but this one, I will absolutely continue to buy over and over again. It’s not creamy, it’s not sweet, it’s just the most realistic fresh coconut fruit smell that includes the husk. Highly recommend

Finally found the true, fresh coconut I was looking for! I don’t get much sweetness in this scent, it’s more beachy without being too sunscreen-like. Smells like drinking out of a coconut! I love wearing it alone or layering with a light fruity EDP.

The smell is really good, I like coconut fragrances, this is one of the best so far. I have received already 2 compliments, and, yes, how strange it sounds I can not remind when was the last time when someone complemented my perfume.

this quickly became my favorite fragrance of the summer. it’s also my favorite coconut note! if you want to smell totally edible, pair it with the whipped coconut milkshake body cream from bath & body works.

It does have the same type of coconut note as in Alien Goddess but doesn’t necessarily smell anything like it in totality. Very basic but nice young coconut scent. Great for layering also.

This coconut is very addicting, and smells super luxurious to me for some reason. Like a nice vacation. Also really good for layering. I wish there was a perfume spray version!!

you think you fell out of a coconut tree? 😝🤪 applied some on my arm about two hours ago while i was sampling different perfumes at the store today and this is the one that caught my attention. came back home and washed my arm with soap for a hot minute but i can still smell it on me and i haven’t been able to stop sniffing myself lol. i’m really liking it, it’s the coconut i’ve been looking for! Can smell something salty which i like, it’s not sweet, but it’s a little synthetic. Definitely not something i’d suggest to anyone, it is one of those scents that many grow tired of and i can see how it can give some people headaches...anyway i like it so far and might go back to purchase the travel size. i think this will pair nicely with something beachy and sunscreen-like, like the sol de janeiro 87 spray! 🏖️

this is a really lovely coconut, and I don't really like coconut. it's really fresh, like you just broke open a coconut. it's salty and sweet, but mostly salty. I don't reach for it often, but when I do I really enjoy it. I looove single note oils for layering, and nest will always be a staple in my collection. the longevity is awesome, the projection is ok. remember yall, oils are for longevity and sprays are for projection! two of my favorite fragrances to layer with this one are 000 and Britney spears curious. the coconut and sandalwood in 000 are warm and rich together, and same with the vanilla in curious. it's almost like it intensifies other base notes? anyway get all of nest's oils yall, they're so good. I actually love Madagascar vanilla and Seville orange the most :)

Sweet coconut, salt, and a very generic tropical floral. Basically, this feels like a slightly sweeter, more coconut-forward version of all of the salty floral/coconut/beach frags that have hit the market over the past couple of years. But! The drydown reveals a really beautiful cookie-like vanilla on the skin. It’s delicious but not overly gourmand. It’s just a little something that makes it different from the others in this family of scents. For my part, I already have a few coconut scents, and I don’t necessarily like applying fragrance oil, so this is not on my wishlist. But it’s a great scent with decent longevity, so I would still recommend if fragrance oils are your thing.

Simple, summery, and fresh! This is coconut without going too sunscreen-y. A little salty, a little musky, and just a touch floral its like drinking fresh coconut water after a day on the beach, your skin still warm and salt-kissed. It's lightly sweet, but definitely not gourmond. It's pretty linear (but, what do you expect with four notes!) and it sits very close to the skin. It doesn't have great longevity for me, but I got a solid 4ish hours out of it. Still a nice, fresh solar scent for summer that would be great for anyone looking for a not-too-sweet, true coconut fragrance.

Saw this on sale at Nordstrom Rack, the travel size roller ball so I blind bought it as well as Madagascar Vanilla as there were no testers out. These need to be worn on a vacation in the sun. When wearing them inside you can barely smell them. But I noticed when I stepped outside on a work break I got a luscious waft when the sun hit my wrists. I always wear the two together because IMO Madagascar Vanilla is better and more coconutty than the Balinese Coconut! Paired together the smell reminds me of that colorful Zinka sunblock from the 80s.

I've really enjoyed layering this with more Spring-y floral fragrances to give them a little bit of a tropical flair for the Summer. I don't particularly love how it smells on its own (I suppose I'm not a fan of salt notes, but in general something with this doesn't sit well on my skin after a couple hours), but I can definitely see the appeal.

very linear. smells great just nothing shocking, very light. unisex but leans feminine. i wouldn't invest, This is more of a base layering fragrance but for the price its pretty shit for what you get. Projection: shit Longevity: good smell: great price:$100 overall as an investment 4/10 if it was around $30-50 this would be a 7.8/10!!!

I got this as a sampler and I’m pleasantly surprised. I’m not a huge coconut fan but it’s been warmly emanating from my wrists and neck for around 7 hours now, and I can pick out the notes nicely. Not sure I would buy a full bottle but it’s been a nice detour from my usual scents. I’d be intrigued to try some of the other scents.

a very luxe and deep sweet coconut that still has a dark greenness to it, yet not too cloying or suffocating. reminds me of a high end spa. a lovely addition to self-care days, and this is coming from someone who usually isn’t a fan of coconut as a dominant note. not at all giving sunscreen vibes, which is rare for coconut!

A very beautiful natural smelling coconut with touches of tiare flower and soft musk. I don't find this overly salty which I am thankful for. I love that they have the body spray now that go with the oils so you can layer. I love this line and see owning them all at some point.

I have had this for awhile and it just works. Great linear coconut with some depth and sophistication. Excited to try the EDP coming out this year. Nothing crazy or snazzy about it, just sexy and intoxicating for what it is. The perfume oil has little to no sillage though.

This is another fragrance that smelled sweeter in store than when it arrived in the mail. Nonetheless, still a stellar coconut scent and thrives under the warmth of skin. Excited so use this in conjunction with the body spray and some of my favorite summer fragrances.

Their Turkish Rose is a favorite of mine, so I had high hopes for this. Coconut without the generic sweetness or dated florals of other fragrances (e.g., Bronze Goddess). Great for a day at the beach!

It’s nice but it kind of just smells like coconut oil. Not too much else going on. Good for layering if you want a bit more but also nice on its own if you want something simple.

im a killer for some good coconut and this was it. had a good mix of other tropical notes and vanilla so the cocnut wasnt overkill like many other cocnut perfumes 7.7/10

I like this as a nice tropical, beachy, summer perfume. It reminds me of The Vanille from Nette-- but the salt note in here is much more balanced and not overpowering.

This is delicious, but it only lasts a few hours before it's basically undetectable. It also sits very close to the skin, so nobody's gonna smell it but you.

Pretty clean straight up coconut. Not as sweet as Madagascar vanilla but its similar. However it fades quickly for an oil

Whether you will like this or not depends on what you’re expecting out of the coconut note. Do you like coconut cream pie? This isn’t it. Do you like pina coladas? (And getting caught in the rain?) This isn’t it either. Are you a fan of the solar coconut they use in sunscreen? This is it. Do I like this fragrance? Eh, it’s kind of mid, but I prefer sweet coconut. It’s expensive for what you get - very linear (not a bad thing, but don’t expect it to evolve), and it doesn’t last. I appreciate the deluxe sample I got from Sephora, but I won’t be getting a full bottle.

This smells like Afro Sheen from the 1970s and I can't unsmell it. Not a terrible smell but overpowering in the same way it was when it was used in my hair as a little girl. Even when layered with other fragrances all you smell is Afro Sheen. While it evokes lovely memories of a trauma-free childhood of the 1970s, it's not a scent I want on my body in the 21st century. I only have a travel size of this and I'm glad because I don't feel bad giving it away.

I want to say this is giving photorealistic coconut but I really don't think it is - and there is a decidedly lack of sweetness that I would associate with the name "balinese coconut". It's a natural sort of scent, almost like you found an old coconut in a coconut grove and can smell the old leaves as well. It kind of smells like expensive soap.

I love the smell of this oil straight on the skin. Pure coconut deliciousness, but for the price point I'm really disappointed by the longevity as the scent has faded away after 30min - 1hour. Poor performance.

This one was just okay for me. I usually really love a coconut fragrance, but this one is a bit too sunscreeny to my nose. Layers alright with some other stuff, but on it's own it's a no go for me sadly.

This is the only Nest perfume that I've liked, but I only liked it a little. After finishing a sample I was kinda over it. Coconut is a hard note- this one wasn't too sunscreeny though.

Wanted to love this but unfortunately very headache inducing and smells too artificial, it’s a very salty synthetic coconut not creamy or sweet enough for my taste
