Midnight Fleur Soleil

I feel like no one would "get" this fragrance without first experiencing OG Midnight Fleur. So real quick: Midnight Fleur transports you to a dark, mysterious forest. Haunting, ethereal, untouchable, other-worldly. You just explored your way through the dark woods at night, only guided by the moon and some fireflies until you stumble upon a tiny clearing with night-blooming flowers to find a powerful, confident, but stoic woman. If a tree of a thousand lifetimes took the form of a beautiful young wood nymph. This is how I imagine a dark forest fairy or dark elf witch would smell. Not a fluffy, cute vanilla. It is a sensual, warm, seductive vanilla. Not 'sexy' because it's not necessarily youthful or flirty. It's like a magical, psychological magnet that pulls you in. I inadvertently command the room whenever I wear it. SO if you want this same magic to work in hotter / daytime weather, Midnight Fleur SOLEIL is the only viable option. This is EXACTLY the 'daytime' version of that magic. You are wandering through those same exact haunted woods, but instead, it is day time. You are guided by white beams of sun streaming down through the canopy. Humidity condensing into sweet dew drops on the flower petals. Birds are singing. Butterflies and iridescent dragonflies seem to be leading you in a particular direction. You're feeling refreshed and energized from your trek through the forest, but you are starting to feel a bit thirsty. You stumble upon a fresh spring, with a youthful- still powerful- fairy offering you sweet fruity nectar from a flower. The black amber has been removed to literally remove the darkness of night. The lotus brings the watery freshness of daytime, and the passionfruit brings the heat of the sun. Seeing as this is a more 'energetic' and 'vibrant' version of Midnight Fleur, i feel comfortable calling this 'flirty' now. You will still command the room with this fragrance, but in a much sweeter way. (But not 'sweeter' in a cloying way. Sweeter in a "lighter" less intense way.) In a perfect world, MFSoleil would be just as available as MF and I would wear them all year round.

Ordered this off eBay thinking I was going to get the original Midnight Fleur and I... did not! But who cares because this is delicious. The passionfruit really jumps out on first sniff and can be a tad cloying but it settles down into a beautiful and yummy scent. The woody note keeps this from being too shampoo-y or childish. Not for the same audience as OG Midnight Fleur — this feels a lot younger and brighter — but good for those who like summery scents.

I'm such a fan of Midnight Fleur, I blind-bought Midnight Fleur Soleil. It's faintly similar with the woods and jasmine, but has a very different personality. At first spritz it's juicy tropical fruit, mellowing out to a more sophisticated, subtly powdery floral and amber on the drydown. I'm not sure if it's coconut I'm detecting or a bit of vanilla; either way it blends beautifully into a lovely tropical scent. It carries over some of the deepness found in Midnight Fleur, but is more suitable for the daytime and warmer weather.

Nest bottles always make me happy. Simple and balmy. Sometime i wanna hug all of them and sleep with them. Gosh! Look at this purity...

The original is absolutely stunning. I hope I get a chance to sniff this before it disappears!
