Santa Barbara Strawberry Perfume Oil

To me, this hits as a hyper realistic strawberry scent. Sends me straight back to picking strawberries in Florida a few years back. If you're used to the more tart & starchy typical grocery store berries, this'll probably be too sweet for what you're looking for. Layering it with a green woody scent brings the essence of the whole plant together and perfects it IMO. It only has a moderate longevity in my experience but I live in a warm climate and scents tend to suffer a shorter lifespan as a result. I do feel like it's priced a little too high; 6ml for $35 is pretty tough for my budget. I would only buy again during a good sale, but I would snatch it up in a second in that case. Hoping they release an EDP!

I LOVE this strawberry. The best strawberry perfume I have ever smelled, actually. It's juicy, sweet, fresh, not at all plasticky to me. A little artificial like candy but not nauseating. The peony notes shine through after some time and it smells soooo fresh and nice even after a long day. I've been looking for a good strawberry perfume. Strawberry Letter by Phlur is too plasticky, headache-inducing, and artificial and the Burberry Her Elixir becomes too powdery like a grandma scent (IMHO). Strawberry Poundcake by BBW is absolutely horrendous to me too. Nothing compares to this one, I really can't get enough of it.

Forget the toys - this is 100% strawberry jello!!!! Like the kind made from packets ;-) And I'm not mad about that as it's such a nostalgic scent for me ;-) It's fun, playful, and good for layering ( I love it with Chanel Chance eau Tendre edp and I bet it would be great with Miutine - hello!!), but for the cost it does not last long enough! I'll be happy to enjoy my time with this one but won't repurchase - at least not in the oil form. Curious to smell the edp version though! Update - finally smelled the edp today and I'm in looooove and it definitely lasts and projects longer! Dying to buy!!

This is my favourite perfum! I was looking for a beautiful realistic strawberry parfum for years!! This is very realistic, fresh , ripe strawberry!!! It last all day long and this do not smell artificial! They extract the oil from strawberries that’s why it’s more expensive ́ ́o through sustainable extraction ́ ́they say and clearly smells natural! On my clean skin I apply the body spray which makes the skin so soft then few drops of the strawberry oil parfum. I smell all day absolutely incredible, exactly like a ripe fresh strawberry! It’s so calming and beautiful

Delicious Strawberry!!!! Like addictive and beautiful, happy and refreshing, sweet and juicy! I have a couple of strawberry forward scents from Coach to B&BW but this might be my favorite. Strawberry is hard to get right sometimes, as it can lean cloying or juvenile. NOT the case for Nest Strawberry. I find it would be suitable for any age. It smells EXACTLY like strawberry jam. Like you just opened your homemade jar of strawberry preserves and took a big whiff. Very linear but that is okay with me because I LOVE strawberries. I love how direct this fragrance is.

At first I got a sweet strawberry and then it turned into a fresh almost citrusy clean scent with a dash of a berry note on me. It’s like if strawberry shortcake grew up and had a clean girl aesthetic, and just got out of the shower. Strawberry shampoo basically after it dries down. Then like 2 hours after the first spray it turns into straight up a strawberry marshmallow. I love it but I think it’s a hefty price for what it is and how little it last after hour 3 it’s gone.

I find this comforting. I use the body spray version out of the shower as it’s infused with baobab oil and then apply the perfume oil to my wrists. It’s a very gorgeous sweet strawberry to me with vague hint of raspberry leaf (I know, weird!). It makes me feel happy when I sniff it. The oil is really a personal sniff - and does work well when layered over the body spray. Not a huge projections- but I can smell it all day on me.

juicy, artificial strawberry. sweet and bright, very strawberry forward but a hint of tart raspberry and a floral (on their site, peony) that rounds it out just barely from being underwhelmingly one note. however, the latter might be true on its own, but i love it for layering with other fruits or vanillas. also could be great for layering with a photorealistic strawberry for a dimensional scent.

(Body mist) A strawberry that’s slightly overripe with a little bit of peony on the side. It’s way overpriced but it’s just so intoxicating to me... longevity is horrible on skin, okay on clothes and hair. Before buying the body mist, I tested it against the perfume oil—it seems the body mist lasts longer than the oil? Odd. I really wish Nest would make this into something more long-lasting.

I love this because I have many perfume it layers well with. This is such a good strawberry smell. I read some people saying it burns the nostrils, I say it hits them just right! I got the free sample from Sephora. Tbh idk if I will purchase yet but it's good.

I found it stuck much better to my hair than my skin, I ended up with a bit at the end of my braid and it was a fun strawberry jam scent, clearly altered by humans, a bit sweeter than freshly picked strawberries but not artificial in the typical sense.

omgg this perfume is sooo fresh and juicy but not in an artificial fruit kind of way. for some reason it's kind of tea-like for me, like a strawberry iced tea from chattime.

This is a perfect summer fragrance not overbearing not too sweet. It’s a beautiful adult strawberry smell grown and very sexy. Great buy

Not a fresh strawberry scent, but I personally love it and feel amazing when I wear it.

I got a small sample little rollerball of this in a free gift with purchase at Sephora. When I smelled it, it was an immediate love! Something so nostalgic about it which I still can't put my finger on, and no, it's not the 'doll's head' smell as I'd never owned them. Maybe that strawberry lip balm from the late 90s you used to get in the Body Shop, not sure. It really is just a sugary artificial strawberry scent, no airs or graces about it, and nothing groundbreaking. I went ahead and got the full-size anyway. I will say that for a scent oil, the longevity isn't great, which is surprising; even with moisturiser on the skin beforehand, it still disappears in an hour or so, and for that reason, I wouldn't recommend it for this price point. There must be something that performs better out there, but has this exact scent profile. The scent itself I really do enjoy, but the performance and the price really bring it down, id give it a 5/10 for this reason.

This scent transports me to my childhood in the 80’s 90’s. I cannot put my finger on what the scent reminds me of. I’m having visions of summer at the pool. Is it a sunscreen mom used to put on me? A lotion, a shampoo? Strawberry short cake doll, strawberry lip gloss, strawberry candy? Initially smells like floral artificial strawberries and honey. As it fades it’s just pure artificial strawberry. Inoffensive & safe scent. If you’re looking for a spicy, exotic, mature, sexy fragrance this is not it. If you’re a girl looking for a blast to the past try this!

I like this but I wouldn't say its a realistic strawberry. its smells a bit artificial but I would say its done in a pleasant way. it reminds me of something from my childhood but im not sure what it is. its sweet and yummy! it doesn't smell niche or high end but rather smells like a bath and body works body mist and that sort. but theres nothing wrong with that, and i do think its a crowd pleaser indeed.

Probably an unpopular opinion because the notes aren’t the same but based on how it smells on my skin it’s pretty much a dupe of Libre Intense. Maybe a touch of strawberry added to it but they smell the same on me. I love that scent so I’m definitely not complaining and the sillage is less strong so it lets me wear that fragrance to work without worrying about it bothering people.

This is the best strawberry scent I've come across. It's light, but sweet ripe strawberries without going over the top. It does smell the slightest bit "synthetic", but compared to most it almost smells natural. As natural as a candied musky strawberry can smell anyway. Love it layered with Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar or Blanche Bete or any good vanilla really.

To me this smells exactly like strawberry scented body wash / shampoo I used as a child. Very fruity and sweet, but not overly sweet. I wouldn't say it's a photorealistic strawberry scent, but it's still not like those plastic strawberry scents. Perfect if you aren't a fan of heavy gourmands. Fresh and simple fragrance oil!

this reminds me of what hollister used to smell like I could be imagining wrong but I swear it does not what I expected I thought it would be like a juicy fresh strawberry it’s still nice but people need to stop lying this is not a photorealistic strawberry it smells like a sexy date night strawberry perfume instead

This is what PHLUR's Strawberry Letter wishes it was, if it didn't immediately fade into a grassy scent. It's straightforward strawberry, not full-on strawberry candy but closer to that than realistic strawberry. As with all Nest's perfume oils, I was left wanting a bit more, but it's a decent scent.

I suspect there are more fragrance notes to this than strawberry, but it's a pleasant scent. It's like strawberry dryer sheet kind of fragrance but not in a bad way! I think it is good for all seasons and occasions. I probably wouldn't buy again but I will def use the one I have. solid 7 out of 10.

Wears subtly, no projection. Like a strawberry skin scent. Reminds me of strawberry shortcake toys and books, a very sweet but not cloying oil. Smells like your hands after picking strawberries minus the green aspect. I enjoy this despite not liking fruity or overly sweet scents.

I enjoyed it! But it's too similar to the strawberry letter and not that long-lasting. I wouldn't call it too sweet; the strawberry is kind of fresh, especially compared to the strawberry pound cake by Bath and Body Works. My husband also complimented the scent.

it's a sweet, fruity and cough syrup vibe but i wouldnt say in a bad way. the scent lasted a long time on my skin. it kind of reminds me of those strawberry candies and pure seduction by victoria secret.

A more natural but still sweet strawberry. Almost smells like those strawberry candies my grandma has at her house. I don't get any floral notes. It's not quite as sweet as strawberry letter imo

Strawberry hard candy and florals in a fresh, noncloying way

The notes that I found listed are: fresh strawberries, beeswax, creamy vanilla, soft musk Fruity, sweet, fresh, bright, juicy, warm, musky On me this opens with a fresh, sweet, slightly tart, and juicy strawberry. As it dries down I do get some of the waxy and sweet beeswax that adds a richness, and gives it a honeyed strawberry scent. Further into the dry down the warm and creamy vanilla comes in along with the soft and powdery musk, which round out the scent by balancing the sweetness of the strawberry. I feel like I’m picking up on a little bit of peony too, but I don’t see it in the notes. The strawberry is definitely the star here, and stays very prominent throughout the whole wear. I got a mini bottle of this with my recent Sephora order, so of course I had to try it. I also love some Nest fragrances, but I’ve never been a huge fan of strawberry, although I do have some fragrances that I love it in, especially Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow. Unfortunately, this one isn’t a love for me. I don’t dislike it, but I just find it ok. I have all of the Nest perfume oils, so I might try layering it with them, particularly Madagascar Vanilla. To me this feels feminine, and like it’s best suited for the spring and summer. This feels like a more casual scent, especially on its own. Like I previously mentioned, layering it with another one of the Nest perfume oils might be fun though. I get great performance with Santa Barbra Strawberry. The longevity is really good, it lasts throughout the entire day. The projection is nice, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. For some reference my favorite Nest fragrances are Sunkissed Hibiscus (one of my all time favorites!), Golden Nectar, Vanilla Bourbon, Balinese Coconut oil, Madagascar Vanilla oil, and South Pacific Sandalwood oil. The strawberry smell is synthetic, which was a bit of a let down given that Nest's other fragrances are more true to what they're named after. That being said, I enjoy the smell. There's no sillage or projection, but that's kind of the norm for Nest fragrances. What disappoints me the most is that it barely lasts. Like, the scent is almost totally gone after two or three hours. Overall, this fragrance smells good but don't expect anybody to notice you wearing it, or even expect to smell it on yourself unless you put your nose right where you applied it. I might use this fragrance now and then, but I won't be repurchasing it. My search for a good strawberry perfume continues.

Not the type of scent I normally go for, but I got a free sample from Sephora. It's decent. It's by no means a photorealistic strawberry, but it's a pretty good strawberry-flavored-something scent. Artificial, but edible. I do also smell the similarity to artificial grape flavoring. It doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is, which is like when your hands are sticky from a melting strawberry popsicle in the summertime. Unpretentious and will absolutely scratch that itch for people looking for a summery strawberry scent. Not something I will reach for, but sometimes you just want to smell fruity like a Bath and Body Works in 2003. 6.5/10.

I’m not surprised that I’m not into this scent. It feels a little disjointed from the other oils, the others are very complex and stunning but the strawberry was very underwhelming for me. I was hoping for a fresh and tart strawberry, but it’s very candy sweet. Kind of reminds me of strawberry air fresheners that you put in your car. It becomes softer and isn’t too bad, just not my taste.

This is strawberry at first sniff followed quickly by grape similar to the grape flavor in gum rolls, complete with the mental image of the color deep purple. It's pleasant and definitely scratches your fruity itch. Decidedly feminine. Lasts 4-5 hours on skin. I wish it had more zest or even some soapiness to give it a refreshing kick. Sample before you buy.

Smells like Burberry Her edp without the iris, black currant and citrus. It's light, sweet floral strawberry. Its fresh and has no "tart" note, which is something I like about other strawberry fragrances. Its missing something to offset the sweetness for me. Sits close to skin and doesn't really evolve from sweet strawberry with a light floral touch.

A very juicy and green strawberry scent. The dry down is the tiniest bit too sour for me personally, but I can see lots of people enjoying it. Similar to Phlur Strawberry Letter which is just a bit more powdery and earthy. Has minimal sillage and only lasts about 3 hours on me.

IMO it's not fresh strawberry, it's strawberry candy. Very different from the "Seville Orange" perfume oil in the same series, which is like fresh citrus. I agree with the reviews mentioning Pez and grape candy. If I smelled this on someone I might think it is a shampoo or body butter. Not crazy sickly, but the sweetness bothers me too much to wear. I don't think I'd mind this on the right person, but I'm not her.

This is the worst of this line. I'm wearing a really good strawberry fragrance right now and put it next to Miller Harris Blousy is an insult. What a shame because this line has a few winners but this is a big no. Smells even more fake than Phlur Strawberry Letter. Which I have a decant of and plan on giving away.

I was optimistic for this one to at least smell like an artificial strawberry candy, but it unforunately smells like strawberry chapstick. Utterly synthetic. If you're curious about a blind-buy, I highly recommend visiting a shop that has sampling available. Definitely not blind-buy safe.

I'm not into it. Smells like bath and body works with an undertone of mildew. Don't pay nest prices for this DNA.

I had high hopes for this, but unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I grew up around strawberries due to my grandparents owning an organic strawberry farm in CA, so was hoping this scent would be reminiscent of those days, standing in the fields at peak picking time. This to me came across as an overripe strawberry on the edge of turning rotten, mixed in with a chemical smell I can't quite put my finger on. Back to hunting for a true strawberry fragrance.

I have the body spray version of this. I'm surprised that there are so many complaints of it smelling synthetic, as I find it to be relatively fresh smelling (compared to something like B&BW Strawberry Poundcake, which I thought was overwhelmingly artificial), though it's definitely not a bright, juicy type of strawberry, and it does have a "perfume-y" quality to it. I'm not sure why it's not listed here, but on my bottle, as well as on the Sephora listing for this oil verson, the key notes are "strawberry, dewy pink peony, solar musk," and you can definitely smell the peony.

tried this at the store and bought the body mist. the perfume oil is delicate and sweet, a pretty scent of strawberry and peony, though i think it's good, it's quite overpriced. it's not a fresh, straight plucked from the stem strawberry, but a sugary candy strawberry that is generally enjoyable. i find the santa barbara strawberry body mist a lot more worth my money than the oil, and i personally think it's more soft and delicious.

I'm on a quest to find a strawberry scent that doesn't smell of strawberry cheesecake or strawberry ice cream. So far this is the best. As others have said, it is a touch synthetic but when comparing it to other strawberry scents it's the closest to a straight-up fruit scent. I really like it. I wish it lasted a bit longer though.

I have a sample of this. It is nice, but it is not "photorealistic" strawberry. If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, this may remind you of one of the scented toys you had, but a slightly more refined. It's fun. I find it inoffensive and fairly light. It does give a juicy-ish strawberry, but they are fantasy, pastel strawberries.

This is flat shampoo-ish chemical something. Make an experiment - go to store with your friend and ask her to apply 4-5 fruity fragrances to a different blotters on skin, one of these should be this strawberry. And try find natural strawberry :) Ibet you will not guess, because it say's STRAWBERRY, but it's not

I don't get a natural strawberry smell from this scent. It smells very much floral and candy like. It is a pleasant smell, but somewhat screechy. I don't think I can wear it without getting a headache, actually it has a note/ingredient that burns my nostrils and if I don't wash this I will get a migraine...
