Santa Barbara Strawberry

Instant love. Like eating one of those little strawberry bon bon candies that your grandma always had in her purse. Super realistic sweet syrupy strawberry jam with a hint of shampoo. It projects just enough without being too in your face. My first impression was that it smelled a little perfume-y, but it get juicier and sweeter as it dries down. Perfectly toes the line of being too juvenile, appropriate for all ages. This is what I wanted Strawberry Letter to smell like. The perfect strawberry for me and it may be too early to say, but this might be in my top 10 perfumes. Nest is so good, but they need to hire a new social media marketing person because I heard nothing about this. I instantly purchased when I saw it on Sephora's website. Edit - I've been using this now for a few weeks and it's so nice for layering. I've layered with tea scents, musks, vanillas, etc. It's extremely versatile and the longevity is great.

I’m not usually a fruity-scent lover, but this was a rare FB purchase at first sniff. No regrets, loving it immensely. On me, it is a strawberry that doesn’t feel childish, which is odd because it is reminiscent of the kiss-kiss Strawberry Shortcake doll I had when I was little. There are florals and a slight woodiness mixed in to give it substance, but it is a natural, bright strawberry that just sparks joy. All the mango scents out there just haven’t been working for me because they come off with an odor on me, but this fruity has none of that. I ordered the oil version to help longevity, but the spray version alone does last at least 4 hours with noticeable projection. I love the bottle- so easy to fit in my bag, and I love they have travel sizes, too. Will update once I get more wearings in, but, so far, I love wearing this. Even if no one else likes it, this one’s for me.

Such a nice fragrance, it reminds me of those children's strawberry lip glosses, very sweet and fruity, almost nostalgic. I love it, but I would not describe it as a photo-realistic strawberry scent. Definitely find it to be a summery, daytime fragrance, maybe a little childish for someone looking for a mature scent. I love wearing this during the summer, just going out and running errands. The smell makes me feel so energetic and girly, but be warned this only lasts about an hour on me before it starts to disappear, which is very disappointing. For spending around $100 for only 1.7 oz of product, I was expecting a longer lasting scent. After only having it for maybe two months, the dent I've made in the bottle from constant reapplication is a little alarming.

Sooo bright and uplifting. I've wished for this ever since I started using the perfume oil almost two years back. So happy to finally have an EDP with a sprayer, it smells almost identical to the oil, but it is much stronger. It is a bit overpowering, one or two puffs is enough for me, but it's a gorgeously sweet strawberry that the likes of Her and Miami Shake fall short on by mixing in so many other notes. I prefer adding my own base to this ripe strawberry based on my mood, I find it pairs beautifully with anything plainly milky, musky or powdery.

Snatched up the body mist version so fast! It's a really fruity and sweet, clean strawberry scent. Almost like I accidentally spilled strawberry syrup/juice on me. The sweetness dissipates in a few minutes and the scent lingers on clothes quite beautifully. It's not musky, but the dry-down smells like what I imagine others describe as "clean-musky" to smell like, because musky perfumes otherwise smell like old dust on me. But this perfume is just gorgeous, not too juvenile, not cloying, just perfect clean fruity, sparks joy every time I sniff it.

I just bought a mist version of this because it's much cheaper. Of course it's not as long lasting and it seems to be creamier compared to perfume on dry down. And I prefer the perfume version honestly because it's more crisp and radiant. Also if you buy a mist expect a blast of alcohol in the beginning, but this is normal and it doesn't bother me, because it disappears quickly and it smells amazing after that. Overall this is a great scent! 🍓 @fragrantica could you please add the mist version to the database?

smells like a porcelain doll with a red gingham dress and a basket full of strawberries, the strawberry scent isn't too photorealistic, as opposed to fresh stemmy berry you get the smooth plasticky, lipglossy scent, the comforting scent of kids makeup from childhood, but also smells very bright and summery, definitely perfect for a holiday. I don't usually like strawberry scents especially not heavy milky ones ( which this is not) but this is unique and quite atmospheric in a way.

This reminds me of the Strawberry Shortcake Dolls that I played with in the '80s. It's not sweet like cake but it has a fresh sweetness. It's bright and beautiful for a sunny summer day. It's fun to wear and have that hint of nostalgia.

I love this one. Many Nest fragrances are just too strong for me but I enjoy this. I think it's a nice strawberry that does not smell juvenile. I tried to perfume oil at Sephora and it lasted a lot longer than the spray FWIW.

I haven't tried the oil version so I can't compare the two, but this is a sweet and fresh sugared Strawberry jam scent. Not too artificial or juvenile, but still playful and fruity. In the same wheelhouse as Her,Coach Love, or Strawberry Letter though the strawberry note is far more prominent in Nest with a much milder floral aspect. I don't pick up much of the peony or woods,maybe a slight undertone in the drydown. I wish the longevity was a bit better though, I'm only getting 3 or so hours from it. It may perform better in warmer weather, so I'll keep playing with it.

To me this is a great spring scent that would layer well with other vanillas or strawberry scented body lotion!! It’s not nauseating or too sweet imo it’s almost like a “clean girl” strawberry vibe which I enjoy a lot. Not crazy strong or in your face which I kinda like. This would be perfect to wear on springtime sunny days. Not sure if I would purchase as fruity scents are not my favourite.

This scent really disappointing :( I smelled the oil version at sephora and fell in love, and even tested the full bottle spray on paper, and decided I really wanted it. I bought the travel size but apon getting home and spraying it on me it smells a lot different. Its a lot more alchol-ish and medicinal, with a nauseating floral tinge to it that i just HATE! after letting it sit on the skin for an hour or so it becomes mostly powdery and floral, which are also notes I hate, and the strawberry is completely lost. Im just confused how the travel size smells so much different than the full size/oil. The rich summer strawberry I fell in love with is no where to be found. Maybe it just needs to marinate on my shelf for awhile, i guess well see.

Was deeply excited to try this when I went to Sephora, so I took a huge whiff immediately got strawberry robitussin with a little wood thrown in. Not my scent, some may like it, but it wasn’t a cloying strawberry, nor was it a tart strawberry, it was deeply medicinal.

So yuck. The solar and wood with strawberry makes this boozy, medicinal scent. Bleh

Nest’s Santa Barbara Strawberry feels like sunlight with a pulse. It opens bright, but not sharp. The strawberry comes first, ripe and red, carrying that soft sweetness of fruit warmed by the sun rather than chilled in a glass bowl. It feels juicy, but not sticky. Sweet, but not childish. There is a freshness to it, like walking past rows of strawberries after the heat has touched them, when the air smells alive, green at the edges, and almost golden in the centre. Then the dewy pink peony begins to bloom underneath. It softens the strawberry before it becomes too playful. The peony gives the fragrance a gentle floral skin, delicate and slightly wet, like petals holding morning light. It brings elegance to the sweetness. It stops the scent from becoming only fruit and turns it into something more graceful, more feminine, more quietly polished. The solar woods sit beneath everything like warm driftwood. They do not make the fragrance heavy. They give it shape. There is a sun-dried softness to them, almost like pale wood resting near the sea, warm from the afternoon but still carrying a little breeze. They ground the strawberry and peony, keeping the whole scent from floating away into simple sweetness. Together, they create something that feels youthful but not naïve, pretty but not forgettable. The strawberry shines first, the peony wraps around it like a blush, and the woods linger beneath them both like skin after sunlight. It is a scent that feels happy, but there is still a little elegance in the happiness. A little flirtation hiding beneath the innocence. The sillage is airy and inviting. It does not storm into the room. It moves around the wearer like a soft breeze, noticeable enough to make people turn their head, but gentle enough to feel natural. It leaves a trail that feels clean, sweet, and sunlit, like someone beautiful passed by and took a little warmth with them. The longevity feels moderate to softly lasting. It begins with its brightest strawberry moment, then slowly melts closer to the skin. As the hours pass, the fruit becomes less sparkling and more tender. The peony becomes a whisper. The solar woods remain like a warm trace left on the wrist, soft but still present, especially when the skin moves. This is the kind of fragrance I would wear on a bright spring afternoon, a garden lunch, a day near the coast, or a warm evening where the sun is low and everything feels a little more romantic than it should. It belongs to linen shirts, soft dresses, glowing skin, and conversations that start innocently but begin to linger. The allure it creates is not dark seduction. It is radiant temptation. Santa Barbara Strawberry gives the wearer an aura of sweetness with confidence behind it. Approachable, but not plain. Playful, but not careless. It makes someone feel like the first warm day after a long season of grey, easy to notice, hard not to smile at, and even harder to forget once they have walked away.

I wanted to post this quickly sonce not much has been said. This is very daytime/ strawberry shortcake/ Mukhallat by montale or a more distant strawberry fields forever from lush- scent. I’ve enjoyed day 1 wear. I think the sillage on this one will be really interesting, which is why I kept it. Layered with vanilla cashmere by EOS I think this can be very desert like and delicious. There’s definitely a candied almost sugary- syrupy element. On skin I’m almost getting a bit of Burberry her intense or phlurs homage to the note with strawberry letter. What makes nest a little different is there’s less depth and layers, strawberry really is the standout, and it’s an affordable price point with decent longevity. Not to mention nests packaging is beautiful and unique... Vanilla bourbon, Golden Nectar and indigo are my favorites of their line up. I also loved black tulip though I believe that’s been discontinued

🍓The strawberry is definitely strawberry-ing here 🍓 and I think the bottle is the cutest! Unfortunately this had very low promo so it may be overlooked. Not as earthy or deep as Strawberry Letter, and minus the oakmoss and other berries in most of the Burberry Her flankers. Not as "synthetic strawberry" as The Body Shop's Strawberry edp. Still doesn't top Fraagola Saalaata as my top Strawberry but definitely coming in at #2. Great longevity as per usual for Nest. If you want a straight-up candied strawberry (the wood and peony is very light here), this is your girl. However after purchasing Strawberry Jam, I do prefer it over this now upon comparison

This perfume is really strong, so get that first. Second, it's a synthetic strawberry floral. The use of the word synthetic is controversial in perfume reviews. I'm not saying this is bad, I quite like it. I think there are white florals in this. If you don't like jasmine, beware. I think it's blended well and enjoyable. I tried it this morning and bought a trial size in the same trip. I've washed my hands about a dozen times since I sprayed this on my hand, and its still there. If you wanted Strawberry Letter by Phlur but didn't like that it was a jammy strawberry vs fresh, or that it had such brief longevity, this is much better. 8/10

I've never wanted to smell like the produce aisle or a cookie. That being said, this Santa Barbara is lovely. I think the Peony saves this from being just another 20 something, I like to smell like the produce aisle fragrance. Get a sample and try it on moisturized skin. It really lasts through the day. Strawberry and Peony, who knew.

There’s a brand of cheap car air fresheners that come in a tuna can style package called “California scents” that they always have at pep boys.... Anyways this smells just like the strawberry one. Not a compliment btw. Why would you wanna smell like a cheap tacky backseat in a taxi

Don't judge a book by its cover. Intriguing, gothic strawberry bottle. Pure strawberry jam inside. If you wear this in summer, wasps will be queuing up to buzz around your head.

I adore the bottle, but the scent is coming across as medicinal. I can smell the alcohol underneath it all, and it's not as sweet as I expected it to be.

Smells like a bubble gum/ strawberry smoothie with a hint of banana? I love it! I don't know if it will translate well on the skin.

It gives scratch n' sniff strawberry. Super fake but I love it.
