Mochi Banane

nette actually ate with this one omg. smells so mild and beautiful. a unique offering if you want something tropical that deviates from the ylang ylang/tiare/coconut/sunscreen profile we see all too often

Honestly when i started my foray into perfumes with more unique notes, this was my first “bigger” bottle blind purchase (travel size was alot bigger than i thought!) I went through an emotional rollercoaster with this one, first spray test: ADORED IT smelled milky and ricey and the banana and vanilla made me think of an ube-esque scent! Then a skin test... not my favorite, it became heavier and more rice forward and lactonic on me (not in a good way) but after a while, i decided i did enjoy it! I probably wouldnt spring for the full bottle but i would definitely buy the travel size again ! I know i read that someone thought it smelled a bit acetone-like from the banana and 2 it was more like plantain smelling vs a ripe sweet banana and tbh, i do agree that the banana has a more astringent quality to it, but it totally works to make this not overtly sweet! Everyone that has smelled it around me (shout out my coworkers for dealing w me forcing them to smell my perfumes) has found it inoffensive so id say go for the travel size if you want a unique perfume to show people and to wear on occasion to intrigue ! Edit: BTW on clothes this is crazy long lasting , my shirt still smelled a bit like it even after a wash hahaha

I got a new travel size from Sephora and tried a couple of times, so here's that: The banana is very soft, quick, and immediate. Then it dries down to a vanilla adjacent classy floral chic. It lasts a while, there's a bit of starchiness from the rice, overall it's a nice perfume but nothing that is super unique. I get a lot of mochi/vanilla/creamy-rice adjacent and not enough banana. Might be good to pair with JHAG Banana Rush! That one is a super realistic banana.

First spray is a thick, sweet banana, starchy smell. Banana doesn’t smell too artificial, it smells like a vanilla banana cookie. Then it slowly dries down into more of a sweet, starchy hibiscus skin-smell. Unfortunately something about the hibiscus isn’t doing it for my nose, can be somewhat headache inducing overtime, especially in the heat but overall the fragrance isn’t bad. Powdery, sweet, girly.

Powdery, starchy, very floral frontal. I only get a hint of banana for the first few minutes. Despite this though, I quite like it! I love hibiscus and love how well it goes with the starchy rice note. Not sure if I'd wear this often, let alone spring for a full bottle, though. Definitely a spring scent, and even a bit more vintage/mature (in a good way ofc!)

Here are the notes listed on the Nette travel spray box of Mochi Banane. Top: Blue Banana, Rice Milk, Mochi Accord Mid: Hawaiian Hibiscus, Magnolia Flowers, Toasted Sesame, Orris Absolute Dry: Vanilla Madagascar, Sandalwood Australia, Akigalawood, Tonka Bean Smells more clean, powdery and floral than gourmand. I can really detect the magnolia.

This is just my first impression, as I just received mine and I immediately tested it out Initially, I get a warm, soft banana smell...like slightly over-ripe bananas- ones you would bake with! Next, I got almost a boozy smell...like rum...it was possibly the vanilla and rice water and mochi? Idk, but it felt warm and delicious mixed with the banana, and I was thinking how it might not be great for me, but I would love it on my boyfriend! THEN...like 2 minutes later...it turned really bad on me. It REALLY reminds me of "unscented" lotion- but specifically when it's gotten like hard and crusty... it's like a musty smell. Maybe it's the hibiscus, but yeah it's really giving a strong powder now. It doesn't have a huge projection radius, (although I only used one spray), but the smell that does hit my nose is now giving me a mild headache Overall, it's definitely unique and interesting (imo) and worth a smell! I could see how someone that liked the dry-down of this might really love it! Especially since the initial notes were so different! (Although, what's the point of having notes in an fragrance that the only one who will ever smell it is you in the 20 seconds you first apply it?)

I think this is pretty accurate to its notes. It's a mildly sweet, musky, floral, and *very* starchy vanilla with a bit of banana. It's very powdery, depicting the super-fine rice starch that coats a mochi confection. The banana is actually pretty strong for a few moments immediately after spraying, but very quickly dies down and blends into the florals and vanilla base. Still detectable, but not necessarily banana-forward - it's a little more green and naturalistic than other banana scents I've tried. It's vaguely tropical despite the powdery profile. This is not a very strong scent and I would call it a powdery floral before I'd call it a fleurmand. I don't think this would be good for summer since it's borderline aggressively powdery. I like it on my clothes, but unfortunately, it goes a bit acrid on my skin.

So... interesting. Very powdery & starchy. The rice note is definitely the most prominent to me, offset by a thick yet savory type of vanilla. Not great. Not bad. Just, interesting.

Smells like a more intense version of the green Daisy murakami on my skin. I love the daisy but I don't like this, it's too intense in an unpleasant way and at times can smell a bit soapy. After time it begins to have a fuzzy scent, like a dryer sheet. Like kenzo leau pure and murakami had a baby. Echoing the others, this doest smell like banana. Doesn't smell like mochi. I was hoping for a boujee marshmallow type thing with banana instead of strawberry. Boo.

I couldn't scrub this off fast enough. To give it a fair chance, I did let it sit on my skin for a good hour, but I couldn't take it anymore. This is SHARP, loud, and screechy in the way where I could "taste" the perfume. It was so bad, at first, I even thought maybe I received a bad batch, or maybe some kind of mix-up. I wasn't expecting a sweet banana mochi scent, as I know Nette likes to keep things classy and interesting, but man....what is this? Very vintage-y vibes and not in a good way.

This is foul. Absolutely no banana note, this smells like burnt plastic tires and mold. My god I don’t think I’ve ever had a fragrance that has smelled this bad. The “rice water” note is literally mildew water and mold and FUNK! Very gross. Hate it. So disappointed

This was an absolute SCRUBBER for me. Starts off with an initial blast of creamy banana than quickly disappears and turns into a peppery men's aftershave scent. Yuck

Just received this perfume! If you're looking for a sweet banana note, this is NOT it. The best way I can describe this is a clean, starchy rice water and mochi powder scent. Which I do love! The banana is also a blue banana, so different from the normal sweet banana. I can maybe detect a whisper of the blue banana, which gives the perfume a slight summery, tropical vibe. The floral hibiscus note stays throughout the wear and is evenly blended with the starchy rice-mochi; I think the floral is adding some sweetness, and tropical vibes. I mainly get rice, mochi, hibiscus, with little to no banana (maybe a dry banana if anything). Overall, not a gourmand, but a slightly tropical, clean starchy scent. Glad to have it in my collection due to it's uniqueness in an oversaturated market! Just a little disappointed because I wanted a little more sweetness/detection of the blue banana. Decent projection and longevity. Also should note this is my first ever Nette perfume! This one stood out to me based on the name and notes; so far I'm intrigued for future releases from the brand!

i wish mf’s would stop baiting us with a banana note when they can’t properly execute it. i have yet to find a banana scent that lasts longer than 5 minutes. this smells like a creamy powdery rice-adjacent heavy floral scent. it smells THICK and not in a good way for summer. the dry down actually smelled like a nice vanilla but i do not want to wear this just to get to the base 🙄 i’m gonna return my travel size. there is another gourmand blue banana perfume called Blue Java by Cerchi Nell’Acqua. it’s a synthetic banana note kind of like laffy taffy but at least it smells like a sweet banana 😒

I just received this today and I’m a big fan of Nette NYC. The main note that I got on initial spray is the rice water. It definitely has a Mochi vibe. Very “dough-like.” Do not expect a banana note (which I love) because this has a blue banana note. This doesn’t smell like traditional banana but in my opinion is very pretty. Now the drydown is very floral and that’s where the hibiscus note comes in. It does fade quickly but I like this. Smells very pretty and lactonic. Right up my alley!

I purchased a 10pen blindly from Sephora, and was very excited. I'm in a banana phase. Whomp whomp. OK, a slight creamy banana at first, but then I get a whole lot of vanilla-floral nothing. I get the doughy/rice/starch people talk about, but it's GONE in an hour. I think I smell NICE 2+hours later, I get a LIGHT cloud of sweet starch when I move around, but I'm disappointed. New travel size, will let mature.

This smells plain. Not plain as in generic—Quite literally plain, likely due to the hibiscus, which makes scents go flat if overused. Think starch + hibiscus.

This smells like you spilled trash juice on you and instead of changing clothes and taking a shower you decided to put an 1987 Avon floral perfume.
