Pear Jam

I love this perfume personally! it doesn't last a very long time, which is a bit disappointing considering the price tag, but I still love it. it's dry down doesn't do anything strange on my skin personally, so i'm shocked to see it get this much hate lol. I do wish it would last longer though.

Some of y’all’s reviews are absolutely sending me. Musty? Stank dishwasher? Dusty closet? Baby... what kind of appliances are y’all smelling? Because I’m getting none of that. To my nose, this is fresh, fruity, musky, slightly green, with soft rose-water vibes floating around in the background. It actually reminds me of those Suave shampoos and conditioners—but in the best way possible. Clean, glossy hair, fresh out the shower, main character energy. Now I will say, I can see why some people claim it isn’t “special.” But at the same time... it kind of is. It’s a really unique take on a pear, rose, and soft woody scent profile. I personally don’t have anything else in my collection that smells quite like this. I originally picked up the travel size and tested it back in August 2024. Fast forward to March 2025, I revisited it—and yeah... I’m sold. A full bottle will definitely be joining my collection. To me, this one will shine the most in spring and summer. Light, fresh, pretty, and easy to wear. I personally love how it smells on me—and my husband is a fan too, which is always a bonus. And as always... remember: fragrance is subjective. What smells like a dusty closet to one person might smell like fresh shampoo heaven to someone else. 🦋

The best way I can describe this is VS Pear Glace being drowned in a very musky version of OG Caress bar soap and melted plastic. I've had old musky perfumes that weren't stored properly, and they get this intense musky undertone with a bit of melted plastic. It's hard to describe that particular musty scent. I'm hoping if I let it sit uncapped the pear will come out being juicier and less overwhelmed but musk. It's sad, because it has potential, the pear note in here is very shampoo-ey, it leans a little juvenile and the rose/raspberry reminds me of Delina. It could also be body chemistry, I'm on medication so it could be messing up my skin ph, but others seems to share a similar sentiment haha. *I bought my bottle off of the official website btw, so it's 100% legit.

I truly enjoy this fragrance. A sweet, musky fruity, tart floral. I get a sweet pear along with a very tart raspberry or that could be the bergamot from the top to the mid very strongly. The patchouli is just as powerful as the fruits. I think that is what most is getting when they say it has a musty or mildew scent. It must be the mixture combined with the osmanthus. The fragrance is beautiful to my nose. I don't have anything in my collection similar. A slightly sharp, musky but sweet pear. A great Spring Summer fragrance IMO, moderate longevity and sillage.

This reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana's 'L'Imperatrice' Eau De Toilette. That is a fragrance I love. That one is fruity but not cloyingly sweet or artificial. 'Pear Jam' is kind of like that too. It smells like fresh pear which is nice. Its sillage and longevity are somewhat moderate. Overall, it is a nice fragrance.

Honestly anything with pear is a green flag for me! Pear always smells lovely and sweet, but never the same between perfumes and this one is no exception! A sweet floral that honestly I could see myself using a springtime scent! Definitely a little goes a long way though.

It's smells like Pear Glace if it was expired in a melting plastic bottle that has sat out in the sun for months. Truly rancid to my nose, and I am not sure why! So disappointed, I have a full bottle, too. :(

Bright crisp pear opening in combination with florals. Love the opening. It is not a unique DNA, but quite pleasant because it smells "clean". Not experiencing the complaints mentioned in previous reviews.

Going with that fun soft pear with jolly rancher scent with white florals. While beautiful for me not full bottle worthy. Sample was just fine. Specific to spring and summer for sure.

A nice, nostalgic pear fragrance: fruity, clean, floral!

For those who want a realistic description of this perfume: It smells really nice at first. Smells fruity, but definitely has the complexity that makes you go "Yeah that's a perfume". I think it's the patchouli coming through, but it smells like a floral fruity perfume (the fruity part being very pear-heavy). Now here comes the BUT. I don't know what it is, but when I sniff this in, it smells like I described, but the moment my nose exhales, I get a really unpleasant scent. It is SUPER faint, but I don't like it. Wanna know what it smells like? Egg. I'm not talking scrambled eggs. Have you ever grabbed a raw egg and then smelled your fingers afterwards? THAT is exactly what that unpleasant smell is. It's probably the most specific thing I've smelled in a perfume, but I'm serious. It smells like egg shells. I'm sniffing it right now and the more it sits on my skin, the more artificial it gets. Very strange. Don't love this ☹️

Man, this is a bummer. I was so excited to try this out, as the notes include a lot of elements that I love. Instead, this perfume...smells like perfume. Like, when you were a kid and you first smelled an old lady sprayed to high heaven, maybe in church or a theater, and your face burned. Back before your nose was sophisticated and you couldn't spell "laconic." It just smells like perfume. Strong, chemically, elderly, blah. I didn't get a whiff of any fruit, instead I just was beaten over the head with the rose water and jasmine. Very, very, very grateful I got this in a variety sampler, 'cause spending $40 on a blind buy might have pushed me over the edge lol

I enjoyed the first whiff of this but found it to get a bit musty. I didn't like the way this lingered on my clothes. I found the scent to be a bit childish, like what you buy at bath&body works as an 11 year old girl. The price was too much for the quality of the product

I was expecting this to be really fruity and juicy based on the notes. However, this is very much a clean pear perfume that’s vaguely sweet and not much else. I really don’t smell much of the other notes. I don’t dislike it, but I’m kind of bored with it.

I expected so much complexity after reading the description and inspiration of this fragrance. It only delivered a generic pear shampoo. It’s sweet floral, and nothing stands out for me, unfortunately.

It's a safe, average fruity fragrance that is not unisex at all, in my opinion. I'm so bored.

This was a blind buy, which I don't know why I continue to do. I own The Vanille by Nette & that is a hit for me, so I thought I was safe to blind buy this since I love patchouli and pear. It smells ok at first. Kind of abrasive, but I had hope. Very "perfumey" from the jump. I love patchouli, and I love pear, and I didn't get either of those at the start, middle, or end. Just sharp, painful rose. The only note that sticks out for me in this is rose. This should have been branded a rose perfume, because I don't get fruit. There's also something strangely "sharp" here, and very artificial. I thought this would be a no-brainer, but it truly isn't. I'm mad I bought this. Don't love this, and I wouldn't recommend ☹️

On paper, I loved the fruitiness of this. It was juicy and fun. On my skin, I don’t understand what’s going on. I’ve had fragrances ‘turn’ before but this one is something of an extreme. When I first heard about this people raved about how great it was, but now, looking at fragrantica, it seems like the negative reviews are recent and the experiences mimic mine. This has a weird rottenness to it or dustiness/moldiness that doesn’t sit right with me. This makes me wonder if the positive reviews at the start were all PR hype or whether something bad happened batch wise. Either way, I’m sad because I can see the potential for this fragrance if it were tweaked a bit.

This was such a weird perfume, because it smelled good the first 15 seconds after I sprayed it being hit with a whiff of pear (albeit, it was extremely synthetic pear to my nose), and then I was immediately hit with what I think was the peach in the base note, because I started smelling overly ripe and having already turned brown peach skin/peaches. Musty, rotting, and mildewy.

Victoria’s Secret Pear Glacé... at least for the first 30 minutes. Smells like shopping for Christmas gifts with my dad when he would inevitably purchase all the fruity lotions and call it a day.

This smells like I walked into a Lush and somehow got every bath product on myself and then left - or the smell of the store when you're anywhere beat one in a mall. I’m not a fan

This is so musty dusty and crusty I CANT Original: At first spritz, this scent is a total showstopper; a uniquely vibrant, fresh-picked pear that feels so lovely and FUN. It opens with that mouth-watering, juicy 'it-girl' vibe that I absolutely adore! But then... to my dismay, it changed.... While the opening is all jammy goodness, as it dried down on my skin, it settled into a distinctly old, dusty smell. Not powdery (which I like), just... dusty. It was such a bummer because I was obsessed with those first notes! But I don't want to smell like an old, dusty closet 😫 It’s so wild how everyone’s skin chemistry reacts differently, though. 🧪 I’m Hoping that was just a weird one-off and my skin was just having a day! I’m definitely giving it a second chance in different weather or something to see if that gorgeous pear stays juicy next time. It’s such a creative, fun scent; it deserves a redemption round!

As much as I hate to even say this, given my absolute love of Coco Fleur and The Vanille, Pear Jam indeed has an underlying “mildew” or dusty library accord that completely corrupts the entire fragrance. Seeing the first review saying basically the exact same thing, definitely confirms my own experience. It starts off so hopeful with a very vibrant and strong punch of pear, but in seconds that initial impression is then replaced with a very dry and unpleasant ammonia meets mildew accord; it’s not remotely close to a juicy pear. It’s so astringent and dry that it made me physically recoil..and not being overly dramatic, but damn this was a straight assault to my respiratory system. Not sure if it’s the akigalawood or some other offender (black currant?) but either way, for what it’s worth? SAMPLE this. Not one I can recommend. Ever.

I have a sample of this, so today was the day I decided to try it out. That was my mistake. I was hoping for fruit, especially some pear, with some other fruit, tampered by a bit of floral and woods. What I got was floral notes that are sharp, unpleasant and overwhelming. One spray on each wrist, and I am actually nauseous. I can smell the rose and jasmine, and though I love a good rose perfume, this is not one. For my body chemistry, this is not only a "No thanks" but a "Please, no thanks". An hour and a half later: The floral overload has calmed down, but there is such a slight mix of a fruit scent (the florals are still there), it is more like the perfume is fading out than changing on me. I really got no patch or woods and not sure if they'd show up later, because I am scrubbing this off now.

Straight up floral. I didn't get a single hint of pear, let alone any other fruit. I need some complexity to any floral-forward fragrance, and I'm not getting it here. Too sharp for my nose, and the longer it goes on, the more it makes me irrationally annoyed. It's all I can smell, even with one little spritz on my wrist. If you like a floral fragrance that lasts for hours, this is it.

The pear note in this is exactly like the pear in Kayali's new Plush Pear scent, which I also did not care for. They both have this funk to it, almost like a pear that's gone rotten, but this one is less sweet and that honestly makes it worse lol. Aside from the pear I mainly smell the blackcurrant, rose water, and peach. Ended up being a scrubber, disappointingly.

This was so headache inducing my nose was overwhelmed with too many notes, mainly a strong rose note to my nose that wasn’t pleasant. It smelled like 30 perfumes thrown into one . It’s very potent. And perfume-y. I was hoping for a juicy sweet pear based on the name but it is nothing like that. Luckily I just had a sample.

This smells like pear and mildew (wet towels, musty books). Unfortunately the mildew is the star. UPDATE 6-21-24: I was cleaning and getting ready to toss the bottle, when on a whim I sprayed it and the mildew note is significantly milder. Maybe it needed to macerate?

Absolutely repulsive. I tried it in store and thought it smelled like literal jolly ranchers. Purchased a travel spray and when I tried it at home it smelled like thick dust that had been sprayed with a pear perfume. Disgusting. My first scrubber.

I really wanted to like this one, but something about it just smells off to me. Like a pear starting to go a bit rotten at the bottom of a bag. I keep smelling my wrist to check if it got better, but no luck.

I work somewhere that sells these and my coworkers all agree that it has a dried-down scent of a used, wet dish sponge

I really dig this perfume. This was a blind buy, and I did not look at any notes before spraying. I wanted to understand the scent without bias or predetermined factors. Based on that alone, I love the way it smells. HOWEVER, I do not think the notes listed are accurate knowing what they are now after the fact. Initial spray is thick jam, raspberry jam on toast, a toasted pear sat at a table with a fresh bouquet of roses and baby white blossoms. As it begins to dry, the fruit develops into a more mature and developed scent. I get light notes of pear, peach, and roses. Florals and airy sweets floating throughout the air. The more it settles the deeper it blooms. By the 3rd or 4th hour it evolves into sweet blooms and fresh air. I do get the shampoo vibe which i personally love. It smells clean, fruits, sweet, and inoffensive. To me, it is an everyday fragrance for sure. I've been complimented on this scent, and it really makes me feel confident. Leans very feminine and sweet. I love this and will always wear it, especially on shower days for that clean girl vibe.

I got the pear and rose at first spray, but not much else. I was expecting more pear-forward and fresh, like JHAG’s Pear, Inc or a jammy pear preserve, but instead I got something reminiscent of Chloé but more vaguely perfume-y and less fresh and distinct. It’s not bad, it just smells like walking into an Ulta or something. This impression is from my first time testing it. My opinion may change over time. UPDATE: testing this one again. It no longer bears any resemblance to Chloé. I am sorry for putting disrespect on her name. I can see how some people would like this one, but it's not for me. I think I'm getting more florals and patchouli than I want and also something like an ashtray. Overall it smells nice and perfume-y but not my thing.

The opening smells a lot like that Victoria's Secret pear fragrance/lotion that everyone was over the moon for about 15 years ago. Pleasant, bright, crisp pear, that to me is nostalgic. It kind of smells like a pear shampoo. Unfortunately, after the opening, it starts moving in a weird, musty direction. That pear note is still there, but there's something unpleasant, too. It's doesn't exactly smell like any of the notes listed, but I can see why a reviewer below stated that it smells like an old wet dish sponge. It is unfortunately kind of in that olfactory realm. I had a sample of this and ended up scrubbing it off. Uncertain as to longevity, but certain that this scent is a no from me. 3/10

I ordered the Nette discovery set this past winter and was very impressed. I loveee Opening Night, and The Vanille and Rose Parade... when Pear Jam came out I thought for SURE I was going to love it, especially after reviewing the notes. I finally found a Sephora that had it and sprayed it on my wrist... JOLLY RANCHER. Not a specific flavor but it 100% smelled like a juicy, fruity, super sweet, hard candy. I waited for it to change over time but it never did. This was a miss, as it felt too young for me personally, but if you love a super fruity scent then try it!

people in the reviews saying "it smells like shampoo" which I think personally is not a bad thing, in fact its really great and gives a clean shampoo biolage type of smell, I just wish it was actually a sweet "pear jam" type of fragrance as you think the name would state, not worth the 100+ price tag though

Very proud of my nose because when I smelled this, I said out loud "There's gotta be osmanthus in here", and, sure enough, there is! It's more floral than fruity; definitely not for people who (rightfully) expected something fruity or jammy. I have a sample; I'll probably layer it with a warmer scent.

i don’t hate it, but don’t love it enough for a full size. pear is one of my FAVORITE notes in a perfume and it seems the pear lasts 2 seconds which sucks! it just smells like perfume, plain and simple. I will just use up my sample so I don’t waste it.

why are yall hating so bad? not one good review lol ? its a pear jolly rancher! with a patchouli base - sweet and very similar to their other scents (the vanille). smells sticky sweet and the patchouli gives it a powdery earthiness. smells like green!

I really wanted to like this. But on me is just smells really bad fruity mixed with a wet mildew smell. It literally made me gag 😐 the notes are amazing I just don't understand what notes together are making it smell weird.

It really does have a shampoo smell but at the same time it smells like a faint whiff of a pear jolly rancher. Definitely a spring scent but I don’t see myself grabbing this one as much in my collection. 7.2/10

This is decently nice. I really like the top notes upon first spray; it's a potent jammy pear. But it quickly shifts to a vaguely fruity shampoo-y scent.
