Rose Rose

I discovered the small emerging brand Neus Parfum during SNOUF 2026. I was particularly struck by the kindness and calm attitude of the founder and perfumer, Eugenio, who guided us through his creations. Let me start by saying that I really like the brand’s philosophy. In a perfumery world where many brands try to appear sophisticated (and justify unjustifiable prices) by stuffing everything with dreamy storytelling—also known as marketing—Eugenio chose to focus on the jus itself. We sometimes forget that what we actually wear is just the juice: that is the perfume, not the surrounding narrative or the packaging. This philosophy clearly reflects in all his creations. The packaging is neat but simple, and the fragrances convey luxury and care without requiring you to sell a kidney to buy one. I really appreciate that approach. Even his more opulent creations, like this one, maintain a very elegant taste that I would describe as distinctly French. ROSE ROSE is a fantastic spicy rose, very much in the vein of Portrait of a Lady. So yes, it’s opulent, but perfectly wearable and suitable for any rose lover. It does resemble Porpora a lot, which I own in full size. Comparing them side by side, I realized the main difference lies in the opening: Porpora is stronger and reveals a slightly synthetic/plastic note that is absent in the Neus fragrance. During the development—when the rose gradually gives way to a beautiful earthy patchouli—they are practically identical. So if you own one, you probably don’t need the other. That said, this one costs about a third of Porpora, and its performance is honestly on par with an extrait. Excellent perfume, undeniable quality. Great for lovers of spicy roses in the PoL style: not particularly original, but priced very fairly.

This is for the rose lovers. Opens up spicy rosy and dries down to a rose, patchouli ambery scent. Worth sampling if you like earthy rose fragrances. Female leaning for sure.
