Master of Platinum

This is not my original review, I'm editing it because I gave it a use today, almost two years later, and changed my opinion about it. Yes, it's very similar to Bois D'Argent, very powdery and a little more feminine than Dior perhaps? Today I felt it very powdery/strong/white chocolate iris. On my wife's skin it's much more resinous/creamy/vanilla and I like it way better. For this price this is a steal, great quality. Unfortunately, I don't like dusty/powdery fragrances, but this one resonates with me as much as Dior Homme Intense. This is a very niche fragrance, if you're used to designer and commercial stuff, don't buy without smelling it first. Projection: 2-3h Intensity: ★★★★☆ Duration: 6-8h

On first blast, you can immediately tell that this is a Bois d'Argent clone. After a few seconds though, the defining characteristic of this version emerges; a powdery vanilla note that is most akin to the stuff you find coating the outside of a marshmallow! A metallic tang is present for another couple of minutes, then it slowly settles down towards "Bois d'Argent - Marshmallow Powder Edition"! Having owned it for a while, I just haven't worn it - it's not close enough to Bd'A. On Bd'A Clones: The Perfume Parlour one is my favourite, this one comes second (it's different but in a good way), then Rosa Salas comes third (similar but rather blurred and vanillic). On New Brand: I have this and Venezia, and both seem like very good value. Venezia in particular is a really well executed fragrance and gets regular wear. I'm keen to try more of their offerings, particularly their takes on Givenchy Gentleman Only Intense and Guerlain L'Homme Ideal. Any more New Brand fanboys out there!?!

Bois d'Argent is more woody Bois d'Iris is creamier, and both not as powdery in comparison to this one. It's marketed towards men, but I find it as unisex as the perfumes I mentioned. Did I mention woody-powdery ... well it is ... If you don't mind those fragrances, as well as Soleil Neige (I actually like them a lot), for the price (less than 10 euro! smells like much MUCH more), you can't go wrong here - Master of Platinum is a must have. You'll thank me later. Great to layer with light, fluffy or bright musks.

A Bois d’argent clone for 12 bucks? Can’t really believe it. I think I ordered the very last bottle that existed on the internet. Since it’s from 2017, I am pretty sure it’s the very last one. Sorry.
