Akigala Mandarino

i rarely glaze fragrances, but this one deserves every second of my time to get reviewed; To start, i personally wear it at night mostly. I've worn it now a few times going out to the club or just a casual night out, and to me it seems like those are the best moments to wear it. Also perfect for going out on a date, a bar or a restaurant. For going out i usually wore my initio side effect or angels share OTR but this has dethroned those and is now my first pick if having any plans. When i first smelled the atomizer on the bottle in store i hated it, but when i sprayed the sample at home on paper i immediately knew that i judged incorrectly and too fast. So then i sprayed it on skin, and i was pleasantly suprised. For me ganymede walked so that akigala mandarino could run. Adding some fruitiness to akigala wood makes it SO good. Projection is alright, nothing crazy but surely noticable. longevity on the other hand is very good as it lasted about 6 hours where you could really notice it, while it still being there the day after as a skin scent. New notes, i'm not the biggest fan of your scents, but this one is a 10/10 masterpiece. Please continue in this manner and more will be added to my collection.

Ganymede walked so Akigala Mandarino could run. Now when I smell the former, it feels kind of incomplete. The akigalawood alone is not enough anymore, here it dances perfectly in a duet with the mandarin note. I have to say that both notes are very synthetic smelling, but that's also the charm of this perfume. I have never smelled anything like this. The sweet, fruity notes complete the plasticky, weird akigalawood note and together, they create magic. The longevity is also very good (lasts half a day) and the scent stays very linear without crumbling into pieces, which is great. We need more perfumes that explore the potential of akigalawood combos. This is a successful example. Thumbs up to New Notes.

This is oddly good to me. I don't smell any of the top or middle notes. This smells like a desiccate pack for clothing. That sounds weird but it is a sterilized clean smell. I agree with the review that says this smells like a Banana Republic store also. This is quite strong and last. Wearing this gives off the essence of being a life size action figure fresh out of the packaging. Or, being in the future in a containment area with sterilized air for the few survivors not infected with the zombie virus.

NO it‘s not like Ganymede, not even close!! Ganymede for sure is very unique & I like it...more & more, but Akigala Mandarino is something new & it is really unique too, I tested it for a Week & fell in Love with it, there is no Sweetness, just a really subtle Mandarin, Akigala, Suede Leathery warm & cozy Note. I already got soooooo many Compliments for it. It suits me🥰. I do recommend not to „Blind buy“ it. Give it a Try & let sit for while.... enjoy it. It’s perfekt for this Season.

Opens with a fruity combination of sour green apple and raspberry Soon joined by mandarin The sweetness dominates over the sour vibe and turns a bit synthetic, almost bubble gum like I normally don't like synthetic notes, but i this case it works beautifully The fruity notes are accompanied by more leathery and dark notes in the background It's an unusual and rather artificial combination but i find it super unique and addicting - absolutely obsessed with this

For me, this is a very beautiful scent! 🤤 Yes, it is similar to Ganymede, but at the base (on my warm skin) it is a beautiful warm slightly sweet amber and juicy mandarin with a pleasant tanginess 🍊 The scent is very beautiful in humid cool weather. It has a long-lasting trail 🌬️ I grabbed a bottle for myself, sprayed it twice on the back of my neck, and just enjoying the fragrance 🥰 This time the brand pleasantly surprised me!

This smells very lovely!! Extremely fruity and kinda juicy, but I feel like for me it could be a bit much to smell all day round. I do love it and I can see a lot of people complimenting me if I ever were to wear it. Nothing crazy in terms of evolution, it smells the same throughout the day in my opinion, which isn't a problem cuz that smell is so pretty.

Love it, absolute masterpiece. In the same boat as Ganymede and Encelade, but with the most delicious smelling mandarin. Smells like candied mandarin mixed with the woodiness/sweetness of the Akigalawood aroma molecules. Very good performance, super high quality, loved it. Bought it for a gift and the receiver fell in love and wanted a backup bottle.

Sampled it, liked it and then my wife fell in love with it. I bought her a bottle and she wears it almost every day. In my opinion it's better suited on a lady than on a man. It smells excellent and projects strongly the whole day. The opening is amazing. The price is a bit steep for 50ml, but being an extrait, a little goes a long way. 8.5/10

There is something about this fragrance that I find addictive even though I shouldn't because I prefer fragrances with more natural ingredients. I think it would be great for a hotel or a business to use this as their signature scent sprayed in the air. It's fresh and yet a bit substantial at the same time.

I get why some might hate it but might need sometime getting used to it. It’s really unique from the usually citrusy scent. I like it but def not for everyone. I can see myself using this even for formal events.

Very similar to Blue Talisman, with hints of Ganymede.

This is a beautiful fragrance. It opens with a slightly synthetic, sweet raspberry note, citrusy mandarin softened by some woodiness. It definitely reminds me of Ganymede. If I had to put it simply, I’d call it a fruitier, less loud version of Ganymede. There’s also a subtle creaminess to it, and to my nose, it leans feminine. Even though it’s an extrait, I only get around 4 to 6 hours of longevity, which is a bit disappointing.

Ganymede with orange, the end. Impossible not to make that association, if you can’t detect it you’ve never smelled Ganymede. Another niche brand trying to capitalize on popular DNA. New notes? More like old notes recycled.

I do like it, but it's absolutely redundant if you own Ganymede alraedy.

Blind testing this, its initial opening came across as familiar, sweet, almost a fruity bubblegum feel (but knowing that's not it, and a lack of better familiarity) there is something light and candy-like about it. Floral, with candy like top notes of sweetness and freshness. It's light and sweet but refrains itself from being “pretty”, almost innocent, as if it doesn't yet know its own sexuality can be used in adult and perverse ways for good or evil, for self benefit or profit. So, yes - refreshing. However I'd have to fall on the side of it feeling feminine. Looking at the notes, they are all present and the play between the Mandarin and other notes somewhat mask it's true identity, but I feel that hint of Crush now. However, I don't get the wood. I'm sure it's there, but it's just as light and feels too much like darker fruit. Not being familiar with the house, I noticed passion fruit was listed as a note on their website, not apple (somebody should fix that). Performance wise, It stayed pretty much a skin scent all day, there upon a whiff but it didn't make itself known to me otherwise. As a mildly sweet fresh fruity floral, I could see this as an easy gift if the price point didn't have so much competition for things that have more to say.

The opening has a blend of pleasant fruit notes, like orange and berry, mixed with the unmistakable sent of akigalawood. It makes for an almost orange candy-like smell. Not the sweet kind, but the unbranded, somewhat synthetic candies that come wrapped in a waxed wrapper. Predictably, the fruity notes fade and the akigalawood dominates to a disappointing extent. There is a vaguely floral, vaguely sweaty character buried deep in the scent but I really had to huff it to detect this. Performance for me was ok, maybe 6 hours. Projection seems modest. The idea of this fragrance sounds good, but I don't think it is well balanced. Akigala has such a strong, plastic and wood smell that it just dominates this perfume and I don't think it works to be honest. I love Ganymede, but there I feel like the notes complement each other to form that weird, metallic, alien suede smell (in a good way), whereas in Akigala Mandarino they fight each other. I got a 5 mL sample and will wear it all because this fragrance is far from bad, but I will not go running back to it once I'm done my mini bottle.

I sampled it at a beauty shop and loved it right away. I think that was because it felt completely different from what I was expecting. I was expecting something boring, fresh and light, but the scent came across as dark, sophisticated, unique, and deep, so I bought a full bottle immediately. Now I regret that decision. I realized I couldn’t differentiate between being surprised by the scent and actually liking it. I know it doesn’t have any leather, but I smell leather very strongly not oud, and I agree that it smells like gingham. The sweetness comes across synthetic and plasticky, reminding me of the same feeling I got from red wine brown sugar (BOHOBOCO). I will probably end up gifting the bottle unless I manage to make it work through layering. If anyone has good layering combinations for this, please suggest them.

Certainly more apple than mandarine (mandarine is lost immediately after the end of familiarization phase with perfume - 15-20 min), imagine floral variant in form of hard rock candy, so more sweet than zesty or juicy, stabilised green apple with scen colour getting more to yellow than fresh green. Jasmine and lily of the valley in ending like appendixary scent. Interesting, light, bit more feminine, bright fuity, significant longevity.

This would be sooo nice, but the Akigala accord is too heavy on the cumin. I like the citrus note, it doesn’t read as specifically mandarin, just a sweet, slightly powdery citrus/green apple (not zesty at all). But the cumin makes the whole fragrance unpleasant for me :(

i tried to force myself to like this one, because it is pretty basic and shouldn't be bad, but i couldn't do it. the akigalawood is metallic, and it just makes it so weird. 4.5/10

Fruity Ganymede. Fresh, versatile & unisex. However, not blind-buy safe. This is one of those that smells better on others. Shukran Habibi!

Sampled extensively - April/May 2025 - Akigala Mandarino: A weaker, less interesting Ganymede Thanks to influencer mind control hype and Youtube, I got suckered into purchasing a sizeable decant. Damnit! Will I never learn? Thankfully, I didn't blind-buy a FB. As a Ganymede-lover (one of my signature scents), I had high hopes for this and thought, oh man, this is going to be good. But sadly, after repeated wearings, I can confidently say there's no compelling reason for this to exist. It's simultaneously MORE expensive than Ganymede ($200 for 30ml!!!), which it undeniably mimics, while boasting worse longevity and silage, poorer blending, and an overdose of synthetic citrus notes, without Ganymede's mineral sharpness to cut through the air-freshener fog. Another wag wrote "Ganymede Sport," to which I would say, yes, exactly. But sport without any sporty-ness. It lacks energy and sits very close to my skin. Orange, mandarin, with vague synthetic cherry-citrus accord. Some woods. Some musk. Blah It'svery very average. Save your money and buy Mancera Amerberful or even Bois Imperial, which are both less expensive and far better performing. Disappointing.

#1659 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Scentsplit sent me a spray sample of this along with the bottle of Pierre Guillaume “Intime-Extime” I ordered for a friend. I think we all know fragrance for men with freesia in the formulation isn’t a thing. Yves de Sistelle tried it with a mess called “Incidence Pour Homme” which has disappeared as it should have. Kind of the worst aspects of a Chrome flanker and D&G "Light Blue Summer.” This is definitely a light fruity fragrance for women, not unisex. This kinda of reminds me of O Boticario “Elysees”. That scent is even more floral-fruity, BUT it has iris, sandalwood, cedar and tonka, which take the edge off the freesia, which to me always smells like acrid sweat. With this the freesia begins to disappear about a half hour in, but still doesn’t smell good. The quality overall is fine, but not something any man is going to wear and not something I’d find attractive on any woman. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

A Blind buy and a massive dissapointment, the notes make it sounds great right but its synthetic and cheap smelling with an extremely fleeting citrus orange top that is supposed to be mandarin but just smells generic orangey citrus then almost immediately a gross base, i guess thats akigala wood, yuck, supposed to be extrait too yet longevity and power is abysmal which i guess is a good thing here, i also bought a discovery set of this brand and I was not impressed with any of them, won't be buying anything else from "new notes"....more like crap notes.

Synthetic sweetness that stays the course. Apple and mandarin along with woody notes but nothing outstanding about it for me. Tried on hand yesterday alongside Ganymede and it’s safe to I know which I like better, by a long shot at that.

Nothing like Ganymede or Bois Imperial! Opening is a very sweet and synthetic fruity note, I'm not a fan. Drydown get better but the opening lasts a long time.

Smells like a car air freshener from the 90s. Heavy and a little nauseating.

This is such an unusual fragrance that I had to come and do a review. Blind bought and it definitely is not quite what I thought because I expected a sweet dominant scent, at least in the opening, but with the sweet fruitiness up front I get hit with a sharp spiciness that I am not quite sure what it is. The wood comes in shortly after the opening and is also very strong, both notes topping the mandarine and raspberry. The spiciness calms down during the dry down but never goes away and the sweetness and akigaliwood are more matched and soft. Like a reviewer below said, I swear I smell leather but did not see that on the notes. I like it a lot more in the dry down just because that upfront spiciness I get off my skin is sharp and hard for me to handle but it definitely calms down with the dry down. To me, this is a powerhouse, easily 10-12 + hour and for me the sillage is crazy. A very unique and interesting fragrance, I am thinking this may grow on me.

It’s a really beautiful and versatile scent. On my skin, it smells different every day- sometimes it’s bright apples and mandarins, sometimes more like caramel with a fruity touch, and other times I get something like jasmine with raspberries. But there’s always a hint of akigalawood in the background. Even though the notes themselves don’t sound that exciting, the overall composition is definitely worth attention, it’s an underrated fragrance. It lasts about 7–8 hours, with a strong projection around 4–5 hours

I don’t know...I don’t know..... on my very cool skin this smells like one of those molecular perfumes where you never know if you put on perfume or water. I smell it for the first 3 minutes offer spraying from my sample, but then it’s gone and I only get a very slight hint of something citrusy woody. With a hint of minerals. I guess if you are a fan of light molecular citrusy woody scents then this is something to try. But to me this is not a cold weather scent.

I read some of the other reviews comparing this one to a lesser Ganymede and I have to disagree. I see the comparison in the dry down because they’re very similar but the opening is so much better and fruity in akigala. Ganymede almost smells synthetic or medicinal on the opening in comparison. I sprayed them both and let me wife along with a friend smell and they both agreed that the akigala opening was superior

Obviously this brand is working with Givaudan, and no Givaudan perfumer except Bisch knows how to play with akigalawood therefore it sucks. In Bisch's perfumes, akigalawood is not just akigalawood, he builds an accord around it. Wouldn't buy if Bisch is not collaborating.

I blind bought this fragrance based on the reviews here on fragrantica, and it’s probably my best blind buy yet. I don’t think I’ve tried a fruity oud scent profile that’s been this smooth. From start to finish this fragrance does not disappoint.

For those who remember it, opening the mylar package holding le clic 35 mm film. With a small pretty floral, like your long slim camera had a limited edition scented film cassette. But, I can't stop sniffing. Nostalgic.

A well done akigala without Bisch, that's rare first of all, in addition to that, amazing fruity long lasting scent, sometimes I fell like it can be a bit synthetic, but overall, that's a really good one

Smells like the inside of a new airplane. Or the interior of a freshly washed car. There's something "vehicular" about it. It's actually quite nice...if you're in the mood for booking a flight!

Finally!!! A wearable Akigala fragrance. I find Bois Imperial toxic and synthetic. This is lush, akigala is there but doesn't try and steal (ruin) the show!

Everything with akigalawood dries down like peppery bug spray. Raid roach spray mixed with Deep Woods Off to be exact. I don't like it.

It’s fruitier, cleaner, and more pleasant than Ganymede. I’d pick Akigala between the two, though neither is really my thing.

Very, very woody, deep, but there is a weirdly refreshing base. Very hard to describe. I wouldnt compare it to Ganymede.

At first spray smells fruity with notable smooth fresh motes, however the dry down reminds me of Rosendu Matieu No 8.

It’s 100% Gaba by Hormone. I have both perfumes and I don't see any difference between them.

This is really good. smells like a warmer fruitier version of Ganymede.
