1+1 Ambre à Levres

A beautiful, cosmetic violet-rose with a gorgeous balance between its floral, amber, and leather notes. Conceptually speaking, it's not super far away from others in the genre like Putain de Palaces, Misia, and Lipstick Rose. I do, however, find this one perhaps the most well-orchestrated. The slightly juicy rose and chilly violet are floral to be sure, but it's not a super powder bomb. The amber is sweet, but not to a toothachingly sweet degree. All of it is tempered with a subtle sueded leather. I actually might venture to say I prefer this to all of those mentioned above for everyday wear. The ELdO scent of course entertains with the bold shock of animalic crassness and, in their own ways, both Misia and Lipstick Rose read as more "elegant." That all said, this is the one I'd feel most comfortable turning to in a pinch. It has the sumptuousness and old world feel of all of the above with a grounded, leathery earthiness.

I love the dry, bright violet + suede opening. Not to long after, it does get quite powdery, but then I get a healthy dose of jammy rose. Perhaps it is just me- or my skin- but I get a cherry note here? It actually reminds me of Guerlain Homme EDP after some time on skin (a more feminine leaning version, albeit). This is pretty addicting stuff to me. Shoutout to Nez for some great customer service when I had issues with my order. It’s a 9 out of 10 for me.

Why this was never sold in a larger bottle puzzles me. This is one of the best amber iris lipstick fragrance ever produced. As much as I enjoy Lipstick On, Luxury, and another 6 or 7 I own, this version always seems more soft, more like a lipstick according.

Absolutely love it ! Need a bigger bottle . Reminds me JHG Liquid Illusion - sweetness. It’s like a second skin . Good in all seasons . Sits close to the skin .

I have a small bottle of this and it's heavenly. Nothing is too much: the balance of amber and lipstick notes are gorgeous. Now I need a bigger bottle!
