1+1 Kraft Gommé

This one's a little odd on me! Definitely an atmospheric scent...clay...cedar...cardboard...a light sweetness. Those who say Le Labo's Poivre smells like cardboard have NOT smelled this one! It's fascinating, but I generally find myself spraying it and trying to figure it out. I'm not sure I come to any new conclusions each time I try it. It's hard to commit to putting it on skin for a full wearing, since it seems as if it might drone on throughout the day. I'm definitely fascinated by how maybe some of the raw materials might create the scent--the balsams, beeswax, and some cedar aromachemicals that, in isolation, do have this kind of dense, woody feel. I know if it were airier, it would feel more accessible and wearable, but probably would be further from the brief. Not sad I own it, but it's definitely a delicate balance picking and choosing the time and place to wear it.

Yes,this is the aroma of Art School! Eraser gum, wood lacquer, brown paper that has been wet. It’s really very close to the School Supplies cabinet, if you minus the metallic graphic those always have. Woody pencils, paper stacks, sweet erasers. More beeswax and linseed would be great to get a truer version of print class or oil painting class, but it’s fun anyway. Overall a woody cardboard pleasantry, but to wear it as a personal fragrance I would want something added, like an herbal of light floral note, just to lift it out of the Supplies Cabinet feel.

Sweet and resinous, this really does remind me of being in an old classroom with the scent of varnished wooden desks and art supplies. Pencils, beeswaxy erasers, books, craft paper, etc.. Tobacco is too well blended to notice. My favorite Nez scent thus far. Glad I bought it. ✨
