Space

Going through my Nicheend sample set. Space. This one kind of puzzles me. I would have thought this one would be very airy and light, kind of a "background" smell, since you know, space is black and all-encompassing and such. But nope! Here what we have is a DNA very reminiscent of TF's Lost Cherry, without the almond and with a much more prominent "winey" smell. At first spray I get a very fruity wine smell which then moves on quite pleasant honestly, to a more vanillic cherry. It'll be one for the ladies for sure but I can see some guys pulling this off honestly. It's not really my cup of tea but if you're into cherry and vanilla, this will be right up your alley. Longevity is great, it's a bit loud though and very sweet so maybe more suitable for cold weather. It's a very "happy" smell, either way.

I received two decants as a freebie included with a purchase. I see why they are giving this stuff away. The opening on this is very, very cheap synthetic air freshener. It doesn’t get better. The cherry is too artificial. Think cough syrup. Nose to skin, mediocre leather at best. I am off for a shower. A shower will not take this off. It is now wearable but I still don’t like it. Leather and cherry but the opening is not tolerable.

Space -described by the perfumer, this is a “dark, dense space,” and I completely agree. There’s very little air in this composition—it’s thick, moody, and almost claustrophobic in the most intriguing way. It’s not a “daytime” or easygoing fragrance to me. Instead, it paints a very specific setting in my mind: a bustling restaurant at night. You’re seated near the bar, and the atmosphere is electric. You smell the polished wood of the bar counter, the swirl of various drinks—some citrusy with a lemon wedge, others darker, spiced, peppery. There’s wine in the air, laughter around you, and not much room to breathe, yet somehow, everyone is having a good time. Space isn’t for casual wear. It’s a social, moody, and immersive scent—almost like a memory bottled in low light. If you’re looking for something airy and pretty, this isn’t it. But if you want to smell like the energy of a crowded room after dark, it just might captivate you. Ps. With that being said, I do not see myself personally wearing it, but it could be the right thing for someone.
