Sacrebleu Intense

I blind bought this fragrance after reading cat615's review about the perfumer Patricia de Nicolai below. I reviewed the notes, read the reviews, and the price was reasonable. Never did I ever imagine that I would find my perfect fragrance. I smell these fragrance notes all wonky. In the opening I get strong carnation. The fruits are there, but the carnation is the main note. It is an unusual likable fragrance note to me. A strong floral that is a hint green, a hint spicy, that I find exceptionally pleasing. Then I get the mandarin orange. Golly, I love orange in fragrances. It's like smelling the outside of a fresh orange. A little sweet, and a little bitter. Then the tuberose comes in, but it's not your typical bubblegum tuberose. It smells like an orange tuberose. Reminds me a little of Elie Saab's Le Parfum at this stage. This is the happiness other reviewers have mentioned. If you have ever wondered what happiness smells like, look no further. As the fragrance warms on my skin, I start to smell the cinnamon and incense. Reminds me of Shalimar. The fragrance maintains that happiness, but becomes very classy and expensive smelling. That is when I notice the waxiness that other reviewers mentioned. Not like a crayon to me, but like a candle. An orange tuberose scented wax candle. I can even smell the burning wick. It sounds WEIRD. But it is actually... beautiful. Delicate. Comforting. Fucking fabulous. In the drydown I get a hint of the civet, spices, tonka bean and vanilla. Such a sophisticated beautiful fragrance, and exactly how I want to smell. Named after a French curse word. So fucking perfect.

Love. I would never have tested this based on the notes, however, my friendly fragrantican (pusher/enabler/ruiner of my credit score) gifted me a sample and now I am harbouring fantasies of burgling her house if this is the calibre of her stash. You know that scene in Chocolat where Comte de Reynaud is rolling about in the shop window, gorging on chocolate and confection to the point of sugar coma? Yeah. That's me with the sample of Sacrebleu Intense. To hell with the notes, this is what I got. Massive blast of Narcissus Cheerfulness, deep, waxy narcotic floral which belies the diminutive little flowers. I have loved these since I was a tot. I remember plunging my little face into a patch of them in the garden and thereafter every time I pass a florist's bucket full of them, I'm there, face down with greedy gulps and inhalations. The perfume is also stem snappingly green, no ooze, no resinous trails, just *crack* and wet with spring's delight. I can smell the warmth of the soil, the dappled rays of sunlight streaming through the budding trees making everything look like a monet painting. I have a sneaking suspicion the vanilla has kick started the florals into this seductive mode, and the cinnamon has rounded off the clove aspect of carnation so beautifully, taken out the sharpness and replaced it with pure *swooning on cushions in a seraglio* indolence. I am at once delighted and terrified. When will my love affair with fragrance hit the wall? I suspect, never.

Some accords in perfume aren’t possible to describe because they rather evoke a feeling or memory than an association to a raw material or general smell (like “powder” or “leather”). Sacrebleu intense is all about those accords. It smells of beauty and coziness and it’s very emotional, like a soft embrace of someone you love very much. There are sweet fruits and tuberose and a very warm, slightly powdery burst of love and happiness. When I wear it I feel beautiful. It reminds me a bit of Worth’s Courtesan, but I haven’t had a sample of that one since 2009 so I can’t make a comparison, but the fruits suggest I’m not so far off in that. The carnations give it a quirky twist. You get the whiff of tuberose and jasmine and think “this is jasmine and tuberose” and then sniff your wrist and every time the carnations jump out and surprises you with something new and intriguing. This is what makes it stand out among other warm florals. My only issue is the drydown. It’s very weird. It’s like you have been feeling so pretty and feminine and warm and then all of a sudden from out of nowhere it’s just very weird. This doesn’t affect the overall quality of this special scent because it lasts for so long and if you can feel like love and happiness for a whole day then maybe you can accept some weirdness in the evening.

This is what spicy (piquant) woody balsamic ambery dreams are made of! I'm wearing this perfume (although it's a pretty warm spring) and needless to say I'm feeling myself. I was looking for such a fragrance for a long time and my wishes conveyed the Universe to give me this masterpiece: piquant from the spices, but also from the carnation and some white flowers (with their own spicy twist), but rounded beautifully with the warm resinous woody notes and a touch of amber. Dare I say it's even better then Grand Soir by MFK? For me, yes! The king is dead, long live the king! Sillage is enough to keep me walking in this euphoric cloud all day. Longevity is wonderful, I can feel it on my hand all day and the next days on clothes, leaving this waxy note(although not listed), but in the best, natural way possible. Definitely unisex, some might say more masculine, but that doesn't stop me from wearing it, I feel so daring and alluring when wearing it. I will definitely come back to revisit this review just because I'm in love with the perfume and it deserves more words than I have right now.

A beautiful, extremely generous bouquet of captivating pink and white flowers, enlivened with a little burst of fruits on a sweet bed of vanilla, resins and soft woods. It’s immediately a luxurious, full on, sensual experience with a touch of eroticism. What a glorious opening! The name is entirely correct, it is indeed intense. It would work splendidly as something gorgeous to adorn oneself in before going to bed, especially if with a lover. Equally it could be enjoyed alone for some special me time, it’s such an utterly exquisite indulgence. I don’t find the cinnamon too much, for me it never overpowers the florals, especially the heady tuberose, which outlasts everything else. It’s a strong juice with powerful projection and ample staying power. In old fashioned conventional terms it leans ultra feminine but gender rules are made to be broken and men shouldn’t miss out on this delightfully decadent fragrance. It’s not old school it’s completely timeless.

Call me nuts, but the topnotes on this smell like a blend of Guerlain's L'Heure Bleue and Smarties--you know, those colored, super-sweet candies that come in a roll. It is melancholy but energizing, sweet yet with a great mellow depth, really a mezmerizing fragrance. After an hour or two, the tonka bean, patchouli, sandalwood and olibanum lilt along the edge of a vanilla that is neither quite sweet nor spicy. It feels rich, sensual and downright sexy. It reminds me of late afternoon sun drifting through the curtains after a lover's rendevous. There is something hypnotic about this blend, and I find myself lingering with my arm up to my nose long enough to wonder how long I've held this pose. Suddenly I feel as if I enjoy the longing for past lovers for pure memories' sake. I cannot at this point decide if it is slightly melancholy (L'Heure Bleue?) or if it is rather dusky and languid. Oooooh, how I love it! This goes on the "must have" list.

For a very long time, since we first met in a candy-box perfumery in Salzburg decades ago, L'Heure Bleue was my absolute favourite scent of all. With all due respect and nostalgia, the Blue Pefume Queen's Throne in my heart is now occupied by another sovereigh: Sacrebleu. (Especially that L'Heure Bleue's new formula does not have the perfection of its predecessor.) It is the softest, most embracing, soothing, calming scent about, and I absolutely enjoy its elegant velvety dark character. Mind you, Sacrebleu's darkness is not menacing, it's mistery is not dangerous. It is a peaceful night, when you know you are safe, loved and can relax without a hint of worry and care. To my nose and mind this scent is so perfect, that while wearing it I never once try to isolate it's notes...it is a perfect harmony, and I don't care the least what single notes make up this wonderful olfactory symphony. Truly wonderful!

Simply a little golden poem and being so it can be destined both to kings and queens! I consider it more a spicy oriental fragrance than a fruity one (yes, there's also a touch a fruit but always keeping the right measure). Sacrebleu Int. is beautiful because of that huge amount of carnation and tuberose together with a quantity of smart, soft and fine vanilla which seems to me a little dusty, tender/sweet BUT no sugary at all, and that's why I love it. Mainly suggested to all those patient perfumistas: the components here are mostly natural (look at the colour of the liquid so avoid the contact with clear shirts!) that's why it takes its time to "warm up" and consequently to be appreciated as it deserves. For your good: avoid quick choices! ; ) Great during the middle seasons not only in winter and lasting also.

Opens very sweet with fruity notes, sweet like candy. Then, sweet tuberose, a bit of jasmine and a bit of cinnamon. Carnation gives the scent a bit of a soft leathery texture. I smell resins in the base, benzoin probably. Sillage and longevity are moderate on me, but on the short end. This scent reminds me of a certain kind of sweet cinnamon candy I used to eat as a child, with added tuberose. Very nice, very sweet but not too sweet for me, like the modern gourmands. This perfume makes me happy, a classic smelling perfume with candy notes. This one goes on the want-list.

I think Sacrebleu Intense is one of the sophisticated and finest scents I have sniffed. Very feminine, I am sure Patricia have created this together with Divine Feminine Energy. So good is this indeed! I do not get candies from Sacre Bleu, but sacred feel yess. I have also L ́heure Bleue and this might be kinda sister, but they are standing quite far from each others. Sacrebleu is more sensitive.... but eaven if she is sensitive do not take her to be not strong! Sacrebleu is one of my favourite scent for autumn and winter time. At summer to Nights for Your Love.

This reviev is for Sacrebleu "normal", not intence, but intence is only more stronger so... I do get the cinnamon all the way from the start, first with berries, then with flowers. And its good thing if you like cinnamon in fragrance like I do. In some hours cinnamon/carnations fade and then its creamy white floral with soft base. I'm in love with this stuff right now. Not very lasting or strong, so maybe the "intence" is best option to buy.

♥️A very warm, cozy oriental with lots of vanilla and tonka bean and a little spicy. Longtivity and projection is good. Is it unique? Not so much just an ordinary typical sweet, spicy oriental. But a very nice one and like it very much. I have half a bottle but i will never buy me a full bottle for the full price. It's good but not unique enough to spend that kind of money. I will enjoy wearing my remaining juice. 😊

As @grafgr described it below, "this is L'heure bleue on antidepressants." But that L'Heure Bleue is wearing Poison. Two of my favourite fragrances came together to create another favourite of mine. Edit: Gets amazingly well with the summer heat. Tuberose and tonka dominates the scent when it's cold, but patchouli and carnation take the wheel in the summer and I very much prefer this soapy-spiceness.

Vanilla and white florals is something new to me When I first saw the notes I was suspicious I felt the florals will ruin yet another good scent But it was quite the opposite the combination of both previous notes made the fragrance very unique and enchanting I enjoyed it very much if I had a full bottle I would’ve showered up with the scent Longevity is good though projection was weak

Sacrebleu! It is so muck more than the value of its components. Tuberose, carnation and jasmine done in a cheeky way. Sweet, never overpowering as the spiciness keeps your sweet tooth at bay. It has a long staying power, days om clothing. I really do not know how to describe Sacrebleu, it has to be experienced. Such a feminine power caught in a bottle, and not in any traditional way.

Takes a while to get where it's going - 30-40 minutes - but, oh man, once it gets there, Wow! What a beautiful, fruity, resinous woody thing it is! Oh, and tons of tonka. Update: Upon second wearing, I noticed how much carnation is in this one, and I'm surprised carnation isn't much higher on the pyramid. For anyone looking for a modern carnation, this might be the one.

I got this sample from the lovely Carnation. I smell hot spice! This is warm and intense and perfect for me. There is a sweetness to it that could be vanilla but its not cloying. This is a perfect combination of the things I love, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vanilla and Spice (must be the cinnamon) I love it!

No fruit at all for me. Some mandarin notes in the very beginning. Mostly intense resins, wood and frankensence all day long. Some resemblance to many variations of Tauer perfumes. Cannot detect either tuberose or carnation, but some light jasmin. Very long lasting on my skin with moderate silliage.

Another beauty from Patricia de Nicolai. Not very strong but the scent is gorgeous. I get a reminiscence of my dad, or one of my uncles, after shaves from the 60s. Always have been partial to barber shop smells, so that doesn’t bother me. It’s a love from me ❤️

Not sure if there are any left, but Jomashop has Nicolai's gigantic 250ml bottles of this for around $140 US shipped and a 250ml of Incense Oud for $170 US shipped. I grabbed one of each. Can't beat those prices short of having someone gift it to you :)

I wear it only in wintertime. Its like a glug of a good Scotch , because it makes you merry and warm at the same time.

Sacrebleu Intense wants to take you for a ride, not a particularly long journey but certainly an interesting and exciting journey. The vehicle you are buckling into is tuberose. Buckle-up tightly. In SI tuberose is extremely bright and energetic by emphasizing the flower's headiness and massively camphoraceous green notes. Don't expect tuberose to be creamy, sweet, rosey, languid or baroque here, as the flower very often can be. It took a fair amount of time before I began to even recognize what I was smelling as tuberose since the camphoraceous aspect is so loud on my skin, making me think of a wintergreen mint/geranium type accord more than tuberose. Granted, it's easy to get a bit distracted by the fruit salad notes in the opening - like warning lights blinking on the dashboard, taking your eyes off the road ahead. The sweetness of the fruit pulls your nose away from the crystalline sweetness of the tuberose that can help you identify it. The cinnamon and carnations that flank the tuberose in the heart don't help with this either, with the cinnamon presenting a spicy and peppery woodiness and the carnations only amping up the pepperiness. The floral-rosey qualities shine a bit more in the dry down but all the way to the end this is a bright, high energy sprint race to some arbitrary finish line you have no idea where. Tonka bean and patchouli in the final skin scent seem to apply the brakes a bit, but you're still going fast. The tonka is bright, bitter, bordering on herbaceous and vegetal, and the patchouli fully leans into its green camphoraceous and peppery side - pulling down the green and pepper notes very accurately and precisely from the heart while rounding everything out with a quiet and very gentle earthiness and woodiness from sandalwood and incense. Just like the old school French expression of shock in its moniker, Sacreableu Intense is an exclamation, and it will make you make a statement that ends in an exclamation point. It's an unusual, head rushing, yet excellently composed and wonderfully compelling piece of work.

Oh this is right in my hitting zone. A big feminine floral bursting with jasmine and tuberose that is deliciously sweet without being cloying. The opening cocktail of fruity accords are distracting, but only briefly so, before conceding to a spicy cinnamon and bright carnation lending warmth to what is essentially a heady white floral composition. Calling it “quintessentially feminine” feels both accurate and a little lazy, if I’m honest. Our ideas of gender in fragrance shift so quickly that any attempt to pin it down feels redundant before the sentence is even finished. In any case, it’s beside the point. The floral journey is not protracted and we land rather quickly at a base of creamy sandalwood and vanilla accords that become the final skin scent for the remainder of the wear. I enjoyed wearing this, without question, but I don’t feel the pull to own a bottle. If you’ve spent any time around vintage perfumes, you’ve encountered this profile many times before. That’s not a criticism, quite the opposite. It’s well done and satisfying. But for me, trying to keep a tightly curated collection, it’s an easy one to admire, enjoy, and ultimately pass on without feeling like I’m missing anything.

What an interesting scent. Each stage is quite different and lovely. First spray contains many of the fruity elements. To my nose, I get a sort of green citrus. The tuberose quickly becomes more prominent and the powderiness develops in the heart. The tuberose subsumes the fruit notes at this point, creating an almost bubblegum floral that manages somehow not to be too sweet. The latter heart and drydown is really sublime and smells like kyphi. Resinous, honeyed flowers with wine-like fruits and the sacred tang of frankincense. At first spritz I was disappointed, thinking I didn't really need another tuberose. For a moment I was struck by an astringent soapiness, but I think that was an artifact of it being shipped in the cold. But this is well-crafted and really an experience. A resemblance to L'heure Bleue is apparently in the powdery stage, but they're miles apart really and I'm surprised not to sense much cinnamon at all. This fragrance reminds me of Houbigant Raffinée, if that were a sacred kyphi incense burning in a temple to love. Sweet and holy.

I cannot believe how much this smells like my mom's vintage 80's Ciara! It took me a bit to nail down the fragrance memory. Then I pulled out her vintage bottle and boom. I came here and saw that others already made the connection. It is a very sweet raspberry, amber, carnation, Hubbabubba bubblegum confection. But where Ciara gets deeper at the end of the sniff, this goes lighter and lifts up. This is not for the sophisticate, but it is a fun, pretty scent. Edit: 2 hours in: sweet and skanky. It has been a few years since I smelled Musc Koublai Khan but the dry-down is that same sweet civet smell. This starts out like a sweet young thing heading out for the night all lovely and dolled up and the dry down is the morning after with our darling stumbling home with a broken heel, smelling of debauchery. Sacrebleu! Patricia de Nicolai's sence of humor is evident and this is aptly named. I can't pull it off, but hats off to someone who can.

Sacrebleu is an old French swear word to express shock or astonishment, however I’m not so sure how that translates to this scent. This is a sweet, fruity and gummy tuberose fragrance with little to no relation to anything along the lines of profanity or blasphemy. As stated above, the tuberose is right at the front of the scent - giving you this massive heady gummy smell which is sweetened significantly by peach. A soapy note of Jasmine alongside rich carnation provide a robust floral heart, resting on a deliciously creamy base of vanilla and tonka. This fragrance is definitely attention-grabbing, so I suppose it has that link to the name as it’s a statement maker, but overall smells incredibly appealing and quite lovely. As tuberose fragrances go I would find it hard to dislike this one.

I have on Sacreblieu intense on one arm and Sacrebleu, which i was able to find a sample of on the perfumed court, on the other They are not the same, though similar Sacrebleu, besides being quite a bit stronger than the non 'intense' version I find to be something of strong strawberry or cherry craft/holiday candle scent. Like a bright red yankee candle Very strong and waxy fruity with holiday type spices strawberries and creme (a candle version concept of this, not the real thing) comes to mind as does mulled wine The regular sacrebleu on the other hand is much more subtle, soft and well blended, giving it a more refined texture, creaminess and versatility (which i find the intense version to lack)

Mmhhh... the combination of tuberose, jasmine and carnation is really nicely done! The white flowers are only slightly indolic and never too strong, so that I do not risk getting a headache. There is also a delicious sweetness in the background that keeps the fragrance from getting too serious or old-school. During drydown, the flowers slowly fade away and a vanillic amber takes over. Sacrebleu Intense is a fragrance that takes you on an olfactory journey, from flowery summer to ambery winter. The only reason why I do not rate it as a love is the intimate sillage on me, which makes it perfect for wearing indoors, but it unfortunately fades into nothingness in the fresh winter air.

I have tried both Sacrebleu and Sacrebleu Intense. I prefer the original Sacrebleu because it is more versatile, elegant, and smells somewhat similar to classic Guerlain fragrances. Sacrebleu Intense smells very similar to Vanille Intense, also by PdN, which I already own. They both have a slight holiday candle vibe. Overall, Sacrebleu Intense is a very pleasing fragrance with cinnamon dominating the compisition, but just not as wearable or mature as Sacrebleu. It is wonderful though. Warm and luminous, waxy, spicy, like a cinnamon candle illuminating a window on a winter's day. I don't notice any difference in lasting power between Sacrebleu and Sacrebleu Intense.

Sacrebleu is a complex perfume. I typically do not like sweet perfumes, and when wearing this, the jasmine, tuberose, tonka and vanilla just grazes the border for being too rich and sweet for me. However, due to its expert composition, the subtlety of its layers, the woodiness and the dry carnation peaks out enough to stop the sweetness from being cloying. This is the type of perfume that smells like perfume, very French and opulent, with a powdery heart but blended to the point where no single note really stands out. I find this to be very wearable-- as long as it is applied lightly, as it lasts forever. Beautiful and can be worn day or night, in any season.

Somewhere down in the reviews, someone's mentioned that this is like L'heure Bleue wearing Poison. I see it but the combination that came to mind when I tried it today was actually L'heure Bleue and Vivienne Westwood's Boudoir! It's the sweet, sticky, bubblegummy tuberose paired with the LHB's foundation of carnation and spice. I do in fact prefer the sombreness of LHB but can appreciate the masterfulness of developing this perfume. Not an easy scent for untrained noses, I'd think!

Prepare yourself to be granted a sweet redemption, to gain a second or third youth, to leave the ground and premises in bliss... Concentrate on happiness! Notes: Olibanum and Peru Balsam control the -harsh- tubereuse. Carnation and Tonka Bean rule over the omnipresent cinnamon. Mandarin, Jasmin and Sandal turn your face to the light! Sacrebleu Intense has lifted me with joy. I am in desperate need of a Top TEN favourite perfumes shelve.

Fun incense! Sacrebleu opens up with a blast of sweet fruit. Later on florals and incense join in. The base is very vanillic - a nod to the ancestry of the house? Despite incense this fragrance is a candy coloured ride. For those who like sweet and fruity fragrances and want to try something edgier.

nothing "intense" about it.. had to put quite a bit on to get anything... it's very sweet, but not in a "I-going-out-clubbing" way. It stays close to the skin, but I imagine you might brighten the day of whoever gets to hug you with it.

Holy CINNAMON batman.... I'm a man & can see this being more of a unisex frag than womens... I LIKE IT but a bit too much on the cinnamon. Very creamy, woody and warm with excellent sillage and longevity.

Like the reviewer below mine, I got the cough syrup smell, but it only lasted for a few minutes when I first applied. The opening is mostly fruit, a lot of fruit: specifically I’m picking up oranges, berries, peaches, apricots, and plum. And Jasmin and vanilla. Then I get more florals— Jasmin, carnation and the surprisingly Tuberose which is the weaker floral of the three—and vanilla in the heart. Base is incense and more vanilla, albeit lighter. Sacrebleu Intense has a lot of layers and at least three distinct transitions, it takes awhile to get through them and is a disservice to base a review off the first few minutes. To understand it, you’ll need several hours. Sacrebleu Intense is obviously mixed well with top shelf ingredients. I would first classify this perfume as a fruity floral, with more emphasis on the fruits. In my opinion, this is not Tuberose dominant. It’s enjoyable but not my style, hence this is not a down vote but simply a gentle pass.

Oh dear. It pains me to say it, but this is extremely reminiscent of the truly unpleasant and overrated JPG Classique EDT. The opening is nearly identical to me. Sharp strong icky white florals that would be cloying if sprayed generously. While Sacrebleu Intense does start softening and some spicy carnation hints come through after about 20 minutes, making it more tolerable than Classique, unfortunately it fails to redeem itself. Ultimately I find this is Classique that evolves into a spiced bubblegum. I can’t disagree with the cheap pink hand soap reference below either. Thank goodness, once again, for samples. Not a safe blind buy unless you are super into JPG Classique. This is a solid no for me unfortunately.

The opening to me is very heavily carnation. It smells almost exactly like the pink bulk handsoap you find at highway rest centers. That dries down then the fruit and other floral come out and smells like what your hands smell like after drying them from using that soap. A bit of a sense of a certain brand of hot dryer sheets too. And from there you start to add a smidgen of Rockets (Smarties in the US) candy dust. Zero cinnamon so far. I don't think I can get past the soap association to enjoy this.

I loved the original Sacrebleu, which was this gentle muted oriental. The Intense version amps up the vanilla and sugar, and adds tuberose which destroys the delicacy present in the original.

I don't like tuberose but in this perfume it's ok. On me I can feel carnation in the beginning and after that it's a beautiful creamy and a little sweet oriental floral. When I bought this perfume I missed that tuberose was one of the notes. It's not a love but I like it that much that I will keep the bottle, maybe it's a love one day..... Update: I like it in the beginning and after several hours after I tried to wash it off but not in between. It's all tuberose on me and I can't stand it. Will never be a love or like for this perfume. I got a little card with the notes in the perfume box and the notes are: Top Notes: Bergamot, mandarin, blackcurrant, raspberry, peach Middle Notes: Jasmine, tuberose, carnation, cinnamon, coriander Base Notes: Sandalwood, tonka bean, vanilla, styrax, benzoin, civet, castoreum, amber

Hmmm, no. Opening is sweet orange, then comes cinnamon that has a very synthetic feel to me. A whisper of flowers, then some Tonka in the dry down. Average longevity and projection. L'huere bleu made me realize that I have a strong desire to smell like carnations and I was hoping this would be an interesting, well rounded composition with a clear carnation note, but it seems to have been hidden by the cinnamon. So disappointed.

The opening seemed promising...warm fruits and that tiny bit of toasty resin...five minutes later, I am wearing cinnamon perfume. Blech.

Fruity vanille with a hint of mint.

Oh what a scent! It's as if a grand duchess went into a time warp from the Gilded Age, now she's living with us, and she modernized her favorite scent, but kept it mostly intact for her own enjoyment and memory. This is beyond descriptions like "classy" or "elegant". It has that timeless noble quality but doesn't smell of times gone by like L'heure Bleue. The plushness and spices do remind me of LB, but this is so much more wearable and doesn't have that pensiveness/sadness of LB. This is all smiles albeit no teeth - Mona Lisa smile. The beginning is quite strong, lots of carnation and clove and spices. Clove and carnations meld into one to create some kind of a super spice that smells quite sweet with a medicinal lean. This part did remind me of Coco a little and I can see how this can seem 80s. I don't really agree with that. The notes individually and the powerful opening perhaps, but as a whole, it's too plush and velvet-like to be shoulder pads and big button earrings. My favorite part is the incense that lurks underneath the whole time and comes out more prominently towards the end. It's so so gorgeous. I love incense but a lot of incense perfumes focus on frankincense or oud. The incense here is quite sweet and amber which I LOVE. It is different so don't dismiss if it doesn't immediately appeal at first. It is fast becoming a favorite when I want to feel comforted and content, but still be entertained and stimulated by my scent.

Lots of very contrasting reviews about what notes come through strongly! Proof to try first, I suppose. On me, no fruit and no overwhelming cinnamon; I find it a balanced oriental floral. There is definitely a similarity to l'Heure bleue at first, with the carnation, vanilla, white florals (more jasmine and less tuberose, as far as I am concerned) and spice. However, where l'Heure bleue goes very powdery in scent texture, Sacrebleu is more waxy, and I am brought to mind of the smell of crayons (the only other scent to pull this trick on me is Nahéma, oddly). It lilts nicely between vanilla, floral, spice and balms - the whole thing feels well practised, confidently seductive and dusky. The sillage is ideal for an evening date or function, that is to say noticeable and inviting but not knock-out or anti-social. The longevity is excellent.

Smelling this on a blotter without knowing its name in advance, I'm trying to think who would wear it. I can't imagine a woman wearing it, but what type of man and for what occasion? It smells very classic to me in the old sense, but the vanillic/tonka vibes keep it from being too old fashioned. Still, however, I'm trying to figure out who would wear it, or why I would wear it if I ever did. It's predominantly a musky, slightly mossy lavender to my nose with some indols, some florals, and some sweetness, but it's just so utterly serious that I can only imagine it sitting in a library of old manuscripts with which everyone has to be extra careful. Not unpleasant at all, just not belonging in any time or place I'd be in.

Just drove to the mailbox @ midnight to get this one! Not what I expected...reminds me exactly of something from the 80’s...don’t know if it’s the white floral/spicy arrangement but am thinking Byzance by Rochas...anyone else? or is it Ysatis I am smelling? I love Mitsouko and Shalimar am a little disappointed, too 80’s, too sweet not sophisticated enough, really wanted to like this IDK, maybe it will grow on me. Others say to be patient. Will report back Update-yeah still hate it can’t imagine a time I would want to wear this.... Is so sweet, so young....and I hate to say it....well blended but unrefined....if that makes sense

This is also a rewiev for the normal version. Everything about this fragrance sounds good, the notes make me curios and interesting but when I try it, it dosn ́t really work on me. The berries turns out watery and bland, the cinnamon becomes a bit dusty and weak. I don ́t detect any tuberose in it at all. Something in it smells like schampoo. The best part in this fragrance is the carnation, it is spicy but not overpowering. On me it isn ́t so longlasting, about average (around 4 hours). I feel like it is more because skinchemistry, than that this is a "bad" fragrance. I guess it could turn out wonderful for the right person.
