Victoire

Just received my bottle of Victoire EDP from Nicolai Parfumeur Createur direct from Paris. If you’re unfamiliar, perfumer extraordinaire and brand owner Patricia de Nicolai created this limited edition fragrance from her inspiration for the upcoming Olympic Games in and around Paris. Comprised of Citrus (Yuzu, Bergamot and Mandarin) Green Tea, Green Notes, Oakmoss, florals (mostly gardenias), Musk, Guaiac wood and Amber. Complete transparency, I’m an enormous and very enthusiastic fan of the house of Nicolai Parfumeur Createur. Some of my favorites are from this house and personally, i find her creations just as beautiful and inspiring as Guerlain (she’s a Guerlain by birth but not given an opportunity due to the companies “male oriented” corporate practices). Victoire is soft, fresh, uncomplicated. An easy comforting reach for anytime or occasion except perhaps for the coldest of days. It leans slightly feminine, and although it can be dressed up, i find Victoire more of a casual daytime wear that’ll be just as comfortable in the office, gym, running errands or casual dates.

This is a very nice new Nicolai inspired by the 2024 Paris Olympics. Very bright and citrusy with a huge initial blast of Yuzu, bergamot and orange. There is a tiny bit of woodiness, amber and florals on the drydown but the tea is more prevalent. A little bit of mint/green as well. This leans feminine but can be worn by anyone. Excellent spring/summer fragrance that is hard to dislike. It has surprising longevity and projection for a citrus forward fragrance. Great for office, vacation, etc. This is well priced at €49/50ml and arrived in Canada from France in 5 days. Not my favourite Nicolai, but a very solid release.

Fresh, green, easy for summer. Nothing like the experience of the review below on me. Not groundbreaking or exceptional. Aqu DP do this better but I will def wear and enjoy it the rest of summer on hot days.
