NILUFER Extrait De Parfum

REVISITED AGAIN: As I have lived with Nilufer for the last few days in a row, it has grown on me; I've come to love this almondy fragrance of great performance. REVISITED: Upon testing weeks later I find the almond is more apparent! Proving once again that fragrances deserve a second chance. * * * Nilufer extrait de parfum was launched in 2021. Upon first sniff comes wonderful almond, quickly replaced by greens and lavender to create a masculine-leaning fougère. Then come hazelnut and heliotrope as a welcome relief. The fresh and nutty notes provide an interesting contrast, but I long for that warm almond sensed in the opening.✿ Scent family: Amber Fougère Longevity on me: super long-lasting

Very nutty and gourmand fougere that sets itself above the rest. If you want a delicious, high quality and unique take on a fougere, that I personally haven't seen since D&S Durga Burning Barbershop; and Beau du Jour, Fougere d'Argent or Fougere Platine from Tom Ford, then get this fragrance immediately. Most fougeres that I've preferred, fill me with confidence for the day and make me feel like a high exec businessman. This is the only one so far that I want to wear on date night or potentially in a swank lounge. I owe my knowledge of this one to Sabastian, the Perfume Guy. Impressive.

Mmmmmm so underrated, gorgeous perfume. Nutty, sweet, lavender and vanilla. Definitely full bottle worthy.

I’ve been on the lookout for a masculine leaning nutty fragrance and this is the first that’s been a love at first sniff. This is a softly spiced, sweet nutty fougere, to my nose. It gives a wearing experience similar to Naxos, replacing candied nuts for honeyed tobacco, but maintaining the warm glow and gentle accents of lavender and citrus with just a dusting of cinnamon. The blending here is just as accomplished at a fraction of the price. This is not a challenging fragrance and so also quite versatile. Very happy to have found this hidden gem.

You need to love lavender (I don’t). Leans too masculine and lavender for me. Nutty lavender vanilla, well done. If I liked lavender I would probably love it. I’m going to give my decant to my brother.

This is similar to Tom Fords Lost Cherry, minus the cherry of course. Very nice nutty fragrance.

I have fallen for Une Nuit Nomade "Jardins De Misfah Extrait" but I'm searching for a more affordable alternative. Sebastian The Perfume Guy raved about Nilufer by Nilafar du Nil and somehow, I thought the fragrance might be an okay option to Jardins De Misfah. I got a relatively good deal online, so I jumped at a nearly full x 100ml bottle. So, for me Nilufer is somewhat of a disappointment. Given the notes and the few online reviews, I expected a heavy, sorta syrupy, Middle Eastern style, gourmand-floral, almond vanilla bomb. For starters, I'm not fond of the opening, which is citrusy and spicy. I do not get a lot of lavender, nor do I get much geranium. After a relatively nondescript opening, the extrait develops as a rather linear, dry, somewhat dusty almond vanilla fragrance. And I do not get a real, fougere "barbershop style" wear with the fragrance, which is fine. I was fearful Nilufer might lean too masculine on me, given the description of "barbershop fougere with lavender notes." However, my real complaint is for an extrait version, Nilufer performs more like an eau de toilette. And even after spraying and over spraying the perfume, 10-15 minutes later I barely detect any fragrance...perhaps just a wee-bit of almond essence. Will likely sell my barely sprayed 100 ml bottle on eBay.

It's gorgeous sweet almond oil close up, and from afar and on drydown it is an amber fougere heavy on lavender, citron, and cedar. I do get a tiny bit of an herbal minty-ness, a touch of spicy cinnamon, and noticeable sharp geranium. In the beginning it's maybe a tiny bit feminine due to the sweet opening, but upon dry down it is 100% male. On that note, I would ADORE this smell on a man. I could not purchase for myself because in the end it is definitely a smell associated with typically masculine fragrances.

It's a meh for me. There is nothing about it that stands out for me. Average longevity, average silage, and very average scent profile. I was so excited about this but when I got it I was very disappointed. Definitely sample before buying it. For what it is, it's overpriced.

@madonnatella Nilufer or more correctly Nilufar (نیلوفر) is a Persian/Sanskrit word and not Arabic. That might have been the reason why they were not able to register the name in Egypt.

Despite of the listed notes I find it 100% similar to vintage Pi

in the site it says: "Nilufer was the intended name for the brand, the name is the ancient Arabic name for the lotus flower, but we faced difficulty registering the name in Egypt so we moved on with our current name Nilafar Du Nil a name that we are very proud of as it reached heights beyond what we initially expected in a very short period of time and used Nilufer as our logo. Attractive, upscale for a grown up man formally dressed. It is not an exaggeration to describe it as an incredibly upscale fragrance. When i read the ingredients i though it will be just another sweet gourmandish fragrance but it excelled all my expectations it is truly a great fragrance with superbly balanced formulation, this is exactly my taste in mens fragrance This exactly what i desire in mens fragrances if i was directing chris i would have never thought of something better The unisex aspect is suitable only for a grown up women A blind buy worthy for gourmand lovers whom doesn't prefer ultra sweet fragrances

I recieved a sample from the Perfume Guy Sebastian and this is a big love❤️. It’s an unique blend of nutty,vanilla and lavender with hazelnut in the background blended so nicely as an amber scent. Shipping was high $35 so I added a sample set for $40 and got it free. Packaging is lux and the bottle is much nicer than appears in the pix here the top on mine is silver juice isn’t as dark. High quality as always TPG has picked a winner.

Vintage Givenchy Pi + lavender + more power in projection + "amberness" in dry down.Superblend + perfomance. I really like brands philosophy.
