Eau de Fleurs

used to buy this for my mom..can't find it anymore..it was divine!!!! update--did find it..so risky to buy though..you may receive a rancid bottle as the older formulations are a treasure to us, vintage collectors but some kept them in horrible conditions. The opaque bottle versions of the same also can be a problem to purchase (talking about second hand purchases as that's your only option) Always ask the seller to show you a photo of the content left if they can open the bottle..Some open, some don't. This is for this one, the L'air du Temps, and all the other that were introduced with dove figures.

I have this and the Fleur de Fleurs. I think this (the edt.) is much stronger than the Fleur de Fleurs. Even in a comparison of the edt to parfum strength Fleur de Fleurs, the Eau de Fleurs is much stronger. Also, the beginning notes are way different, which probably has to do with the fact that their notes are different. Fleur de Fleurs starts out with a light, airy floral infused aldehyde, with the first predominant notes a citrus tinged ylang-ylang and greens. That quickly changes as all the other notes delicately kick in and you are surrounded in a gossamer cloud of clean, clear, powdery flowers. It is never overwhelming. The dry down is soft, anamalic, musky, and woody. Projection is good but longevity poor. It lasts about 2-4 hours on the skin and disappears after a few hours and must be reapplied. This is really a spring and summer scent. You’ll barely smell it and neither will anyone else in the winter outdoors. That is the strangest thing I've found with Fleur de Fleurs. The scent practically disappears in cold weather, but the composition of Fleur de Fleurs is more appropriate for spring and summer wear anyway. Unlike some other fragrances, it should be applied a little more liberally than normal and reapplied throughout the day. This is an office friendly scent that won’t kill anyone. Eau de Fleurs is another beast entirely. It starts out with a highly chemically plastic blast (surprising since there are no aldehydes in this) that dissipates slowly (you just have to deal with it) to a citrus infused orange blossom. That changes as very crisp, clear, sharp flowers come through, (barely any powder here to soften it), with green notes and rosemary, and that scent stays pretty linear throughout with the rosemary becoming more pronounced at the end, eventually dwindling down after many hours to a musky, woody skin scent. This fragrance has HUGE silage and great longevity. This is also a scent more appropriate for spring and summer wear, but you should be judicious in applying this because it can become overwhelming and cloying. Both are wearable anytime of the day, though neither is really a night out kind of scent. Amazed that they behave differently considering that both share almost the same notes. Fleur de Fleurs - Top notes – Aldehydes, Bergamot, Green notes, Lemon Mid notes - Cyclamen, Lilac, Hyacinth, Iris, Jasmine, Magnolia, LOTV, Rosemary, Ylang-ylang Base notes – Sandalwood, Musk, Civet Eau de Fleurs - Top notes – Bergamot, Lemon, Green notes Mid notes – Cyclamen, Hyacinth, Jasmine, Lilac, LOTV, Magnolia, Orange blossum, Ylang-ylang, and Rosemary Base notes - Sandalwood, Musk I just want to add that lotus and Jasmine said this is the edt version of Fleur de Fleurs. She is mistaken. Fleur de Fleurs came in edt and pure perfume strength. Eau de Fleurs came in a edt strength. I don't think I ever saw it in an edp or pure perfume strength, though, on that point I could be mistaken. But one thing I am positive of is this is not the same fragrance as Fleur de Fleurs even though they share many of the same notes. Just as in recipes ingredients can be the same but measurements different, so it is with these two fragrances and in that sense they are very different.

No notes listed above so here is what is printed on the back of my box: "This strongly scented toilet water is a really new fragrance. Hyacinth, jasmine, May rose plus notes of fruity ambergris and voluptuous iris give it a young, original, attractive and engaging personality". Very pretty, feminine, and fortunately not too sweet. The box is quite correct - it is definitely strong. If you are wondering what the difference is between this and Fleur de Fleurs, Eau de Fleurs is the original. Fleur de Fleurs is an enriched and more concentrated form of it, according to the back of a Fleur de Fleurs box.

Nice feminine floral in the iconic Ricci style - I got a bottle on eBay that was included in a vintage lot - and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Wonderful for spring, can't wait to wear it then!

I have a decant of the edt. Glad lotus and jasmine listed the notes. I never would have guessed them. Not really my style but recognize its classic beauty.

This is the EDT version of Fleur de Fleur. While the EDT is hard to find, the EDP version is plentiful (as of 4/17/15). The notes (as they aren't present on this page) are: "Top notes: aldehydes, green notes, bergamot and lemon Middle notes: cyclamen, rosemary, magnolia, iris, lilac, jasmine, hiacynth, ylang ylang and lily-of-the-valley Base notes: sandalwood, musk and civet" -this quote is from Fleurine, over at Basenotes. Sorry not to post a review, but as basic info is lacking, and I had to go searching for it, I felt it would be valuable to others, as well.

My mother was devoted to Nina Ricci. She started with Fille d'Eve, way back when it came out in 1956. That was by far one of the best scents ever made (there's a new version of it, but it doesn't begin to compare with the original; not even). Fleur de Fleurs was one that she wore after showering. She used to buy it at our local pharmacy and it was relatively cheap for such a prestigious brand. I always think of mom when I see Nina Ricci. But she would hate the new sickly sweet scents.

I remember - I had this one, my father gave it to me for my birthday, must have been 15 or 16...I completely forgot about it, I only remember I liked it ...too bad there is no detailed description here, I would like to remember how it smelled like

Another great creation of Nina Ricci. Too bad that House has stopped the production of timeless perfumes. Good, old times have passed forever.....

My mom had it also. She loved it, me too - it was maybe 15 years ago ;) Fruity and classy for that time. Vintage already.
