Les Monstres de Nina Ricci Luna

Wow... Until I looked at the notes here I never suspected this "Monster Luna" to be so different from the regular Luna. I had Luna on a wish list for my birthday a couple of years ago and my coworkers got me a "monster" flanker. I thought that the perfume is the same, only in a funky bottle. I loved it and sprayed the whole bottle dry within a year. I got that very same candy-sweet fruity caramel scent I was expecting when I put Luna on my wish list. Now it turns out I never smelled it, lol. Anyhow, Monster Luna was a hit with me. I enjoyed it and it felt very gourmand. Sweet, comforting, uplifting - for me it was a very versatile scent. I wore it for office, for parties, and for weekend urban hiking. Hence, the whole bottle gone so quickly). It might be a bit weak for winter - I would want something richer and warmer and went for ID Parfums Passion Latine. In the height of summer heat I would go for something lighter and brighter like Oriflame's Elvie. Yet overall, Monster Luna is for all weathers and for all seasons. Never detected a pineapple, only general fruitiness and sweetness. Loved every minute.

Caramel and pineapple That is a fantastic combo. I detect a high-pitched quasi-sour sweet aroma. This aroma smells like it has a hint of patchouli in it. Top notes include pineapple and lime; middle notes include floral notes; and base notes include caramel. Projection, silage, and lifespan are sufficient. Sweet and acidic fragrances are well matched.

I got sucked in by the kitsch packaging , the fume is dissapointing. Neither pineapple or caramel particularly stand out for me, just a general non descript sweet smell If recommended passing on this unless , like me, you like kitsch tat and having your perfume bottles on display.

In the opening there is nothing sour or sharp as you would expect from Pineapple and Lime - rather just a generic citrus, maybe Bergamot and Tangerine, and very fleeting. Disappointing as I was looking forward to the Pineapple (even a canned Pineapple would have been welcome). For anyone wondering, the "Floral Notes" is a straight up non-indolic Jasmine. And no Caramel whatsoever. As essentially a Jasmin soliflore it is actually quite pleasant and if you crave some caramel go ahead and add some - I added some Demeter Caramel oil on top and the Jasmin pushes right through. Am I tearful of the money spent? No. Would I repurchase? No If anyone cares: the packaging is rather cheap with a plastic molded insert. Kudos for including the clear cap in case of travel, although those leaves sticking out on top will definitely break off at the slightest jostle in a handbag. The stem sprayers on the old Lolita Lempicka bottles were weird but fine, but this sprayer is just awkward. Detachable fake fur pompom got detached promptly.
