Nina Pop

I ordered a 50ml bottle of 'Nina POP'. Was lucky to find it on a discount website. This birthday edition bottle was released 7 years ago, so there can't be many of them in circulation anymore. I've never tested the original 'Nina Ricci' scent (which is the same than this perfume), or any other in this apple line, so scent-wise my expectations were purely based on reading reviews and asking about it in a perfume group. It was the cute bottle design that first caught my attention, but of course I want the scent itself to be something I can use too. "Light, fruity and fresh" seemed to be the theme, so I thought it's probably something I'll like too as I'm not into heavy perfumes. The scent at first sniff was not quite what I expected. I think I was expecting something more bright and vibrant, similar to Toy II. Like a refreshing sweet glass of sparkling apple juice, with a slice of lemon in it. It actually wasn't that sweet at all, or 'sparkling'. And then there was the strength. It was barely there. I'm normally sensitive to smells and a "1-spray" sprayer. But with this, 1 spray was barely noticeable at first. I then sprayed it on my neck too and more on my wrist ~ even then it was very modest and subtle, pretty much a minimal skin-scent from the get-go. But then something interesting happened. I had come indoors and was sitting by the computer, feeling quite underwhelmed about my new perfume. But suddenly the scent started to become stronger. It was like it had to settle with my body chemistry (or was it the room temperature?), which after the scent literally came to life. This is where I could really smell it well and I really liked it! I got the sour green apple and the citrus fruit, a multilayer mix of notes. (No obvious praline, phew) My first impression of being underwhelmed turned into a pleasant surprise! It just needed some time to settle. I'm still in the early days of testing this perfume, so I'm curious to see how it behaves in warmer weather. (It's still winter here) The bottle looks *exactly* like in the photos! Very cute. And I got to say I'm very happy with my blind-buy. I have a feeling this won't be the last Nina Ricci apple perfume in my collection. 🥰

This is perfection! I am amazed by it. It's a perfect combination of sweet and tart, fruity and floral. There's definitely a nice, fresh and tart undertone of lemon and lime in it. I also get the sweetness from praline and mild freshness from peony. I must say that this is not a remake of Nina, Nina l' elixir or Nina l'eau. These are all very different fragrances. The only similarity is, that they're all quite sweet. Anyway, since now, this is in my want list.

I bought this perfume today. Then had a nice evening bath, and spayed it on. It is so yummy!! I can’t stop sniffing myself!!

It's the same fragrance as original Nina, just in limited edition bottle, dedicated to perfume's 10th birthday anniversary.

The only reason I have purchased Nina Pop when it was released, was because of the dreamy, fun, cute, colourful, dotted white bottle! I do love a limited edition juice or packaging, not gonna lie. Nina Ricci had decently priced perfumes in the past. I wasn’t, and I am still not familiar with the Nina DNA, but this version is another beautiful example of a green apple with gourmand, citrusy and floral facets. Besides the green apples this is supposed to have an apple tree note?? A bit confused about that, I am not gonna lie.. The lime and lemon combo add brightness and freshness to the apple. The peonies and datura flower are mostly supporting notes, without too much impact on the overall smell. What’s most noticeable besides the citruses and the apples is the sugary sweet note of praline. It has a beautifully contrast between the sweetness of praline and apple and the tartness of the citruses. Nina Pop has a classic musky, woody base which dials back the fruity sweetness. Nina Pop is a very fun, optimistic, youthful and exuberant scent perfectly suited to a younger audience. Works well for day to day wear during spring and summer months! Performance is not amazing, but it’s not a weak scent. On clothes lasts for 8-9 hours. I would categorise Nina Pop in the moderate range with minimal sillage though.
