Vénus

Venus is a contemporary rendition of a classic chypre. While its notes are far from avant-garde, the scent is so beautifully blended that it manages to honor traditional femininity without feeling dated. The bottle design is a nod to Art Deco architecture, and the ad campaign heavily relies on the ancient Venus archetype. Maybe Venus (the fragrance) could be described as old-school glamour for the 21st-century nose. It is a classic fantastic—poised, like the confidence of a woman who has traded the anxiety of inexperience for the quiet reassurance of her own history. Not trying to reinvent herself for others, but confident in who she is and what she brings to the table. As it develops, it becomes vaguely reminiscent of Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb Tiger Lily, but this is deeper and prettier (and not coconuty). It’s soft florals suspended in a creamy concoction of comforting vanilla, balanced by a sophisticated dose of patchouli that prevents the sweetness from becoming cloying. Not generic, but also not groundbreaking; a beautiful fragrance nonetheless! Day or night, with very decent longevity. Not an everyday fragrance, in my opinion, but more for going out, date night, or for personal pleasure. Definitely signature fragrance material (at least in my book).

I just received it and I really like it ,I love Libre EDP but Venus doesn’t make me think of it, it s lighter, more subtle, a pretty creamy scent, with a hint of florals..longevity isn’t great but I don’t care..I don’t get why a perfume can’t be simply beautiful, when so many niche fragrances smell bad to my nose.. As it dries down, I detect the magnolia, just a pretty one I am happy to own.

At first I wasn’t sure of this fragrance. Quite a change from her usual flankers. I sprayed the tester on my arm and to my surprise, throughout the day I kept getting whiffs of it, and by the end of the day it had grown on me. Sophisticated scent, I feel like it’s wearing well on me. I am into strong fragrances. Longevity and projection 10/10

I really can't imagine anyone disliking this, it's so dang pretty. To me this is warm ambery vanilla, orange creamsicle, and nondescript florals. So extremely feminine. I think this would be an incredible gift because it's such a universal, girly, yummy crowdpleaser, while also being in such a stunning bottle!

It’s beautiful! I don’t have JPG Divine that one gave me a migraine so I can’t say it’s comparable in smell. It’s a beautiful vanilla, I get jasmine and magnolia straight away. Zero patchouli. For me it’s a win and successful blind buy. A+ for presentation.

Bought this alongside its intense flanker. They are both amazing in scent, projection and sillage. I've gotten many compliments every day I wore these fragrances. My literal new favorites.

Wow - quite the range of opinions here about this one! Regardless, I blind bought it anyway of course! Based on the notes, I honestly thought this would be the standard fare vanilla that we are all getting so accustomed to these days. I was pleasantly surprised. I find this to be unique and interesting. It might be the magnolia/orange combo that gives the vanilla a nice tangy twist. Agree on the opening being an orange floral. The vanilla definitely takes a back seat all the way down. I do get a pretty strong honey note, which I don't see listed. I get zippo jasmine. Longevity was about 6 hours. It's pretty and pleasant and not overwhelming in any way. This is an all season frag, I'd say. Altho I haven't had opportunity to wear in the heat yet. As far as the patchouli? Well, I despise patchouli and get absolutely none of it from this fragrance, anywhere along the journey. The bottle? It's not 'cheap' IMO. I have the one with the gold front and back. The cap is very similar to the Armani Prive line. Smaller. The shape and style of the bottle are unusual, but obviously meant to stand out. It's heavy, solid. Decent atomizer. I've spent way more money on bottles with less quality glass and crappy atomizers. Think Bianco Latte, Escentric Molecule. As far as handling an 'awkward' shaped bottle? Consider literally every CH Good Girl ridiculous shoe. Can't hold and spray without 2 hands and the atomizers are trash. At least this one fits in my hand. Anywho, this one is a thumbs up for me. Glad I added it to my collection. Tough to find, but worth the search.

I love the bottle as well as the name of the perfume. On the other hand, I'm a little disappointed by the juice. Everything remains pleasant but I was expecting something much more sensual and much more original. We are here on a creamy exotic perfume with a very clear smell of pineapple and coconut (some speak of fig milk, it's entirely possible). I've seen (on the web) a lot of people comparing it to Divine by JPG and it's true there's a bit of that, but I nevertheless prefer Venus which I find less aggressive, better blended, more creamy and more pleasant. Furthermore, I don't find it has a salty/marine smell and that's a good thing because I don't like it that much. On paper, only the exotic aspect stands out, on my skin, after an hour, the patchouli becomes quite strong but remains pleasant, surrounded by the other notes. The bottle, the name, the advertising had given me great hopes, I was expecting a 'risky' perfume but in fact no, we stay in the 'exotic perfumes' trend (Divine, Scandal Absolu, Fame and so on); I'm terribly disappointed. I can't say it smells bad but it's so 'déjà vu' that it becomes boring. As the simple, but elegant bottle suggests, this perfume isn't about spectcular variets - it is about few exclusive notes. Green and citrusy opening is quickly replaced by jasmine and magnolia heart. It is indolic, creamy and goes well with vanilla-sweet base. Patchouli adds depth and reminds, that mytical Venus is vivid and joyful as paradise. There is sensuality in flowers, but moreover the perfume is soft, feminine and graceful. It is cozy, tasteful scent, very likeable.

I blind bought this for two reasons: I was looking for a magnolia fragrance and the bottle is stunning. Even if I didn’t like the juice, the bottle is art. Heavy, like brass and iconic design. I don’t find the scent to be groundbreaking but the florals aren’t too heady and the patchouli I don’t even notice—and I like patchouli. I don’t even get much vanilla. Overall it’s a pretty, designer like, floral vanilla. I would like to wear it on warm skin. Feminine and classic.

A typical design scent in my opinion. Beautiful but I have smelled this scent so many times in other perfumes. A blast of mandarin in the opening which I loved 😍😍 but then it settled down to the typical salty warm vanilla with some florals (I get a little jasmine) that we smell a lot now. A little similar to “Divine” by JPG. Beautiful though. I like it ☺️.

Agreed, the bottle looks gorgeous, vintage, just different to today’s offerings. Therefore, I hoped that the juice is also something outstanding and daringly different to what the designer perfume market has to offer. However, no, not at all. The opening is fruity, followed by a floral vanilla, that is it. Unfortunately, Vénus seems a bit redundant to me, in a market saturated with that exact same fragrance profile. In a nutshell: unremarkable and unmemorable.

From the nozzle it smelled so amazing. I got vanilla instantly and had some complexities to it. But on my skin, even after many hours all i got was scents of an airport duty-free, powdery, sort of like a mens aftershave, a hair gel or deodorant. It even stayed on my skin after i showered.. not pleased

Smells cheap. Like Love2Love Orange musk. Starts with a powerful bitter orange then morphs into a screechy synthetic vanilla. Then settles into an orange creamsicle. The bottle is pretty. But it's bulky. Again it Doesn't smell anything like Bvlgari Magnolia Essentielle or Parma Magnolia.

I think it's a cross between Libre YSL and l’interdit by Givenchy, and/or perhaps a pinch of the latest JPG Divine. Absolutely lacking novelty. It's wearable but only if you don't have anything from the perfumes mentioned above :)

This one is a blind buy disappointment for me sadly. Sounds great on paper/write up and the good noses behind it made me feel quite comfortable in my purchase. In reality, for me personally - it's nothing groundbreaking nor exciting. I do not enjoy this at all. It reminds me of perfumes like Olympia Solar / male version of 1 million etc but I'd argue that they are far better in their development. The vanilla in this one is not to my taste at all - it's quite synthetic and it gets there very quickly. I don't get any floral to speak of and there's nothing fresh in this. It smells heavy and quite fusty on my skin. It might actually work better on a man. I feel like I've smelled this 100 times already in various iterations and I really can't get past the idea that it smells like my teenage sons bedroom. I don't feel this is well named and it definitely doesn't invoke Venus in my mind nor does it make me feel like I'm embracing my inner woman or that it is celebrating my femininity. I wanted to love it but sadly I don't. Worthy of note also - the 30ml bottle is plain glass not the metal robed beauty shown.

I wanted to like this scent, the opening reminded me a little bit of of Dolce & Gabbana Women's and Love Don't Be Shy by Killian. It's quite rich and has a creamy orange blast but then it simplifies down, the vanilla disappears, not a whiff of patchouli. It's ok as a generic go to scent but nothing stands out as a signature. Though I would have been quite happy with it just as that, it wears off after a couple of hours to that horrible indolic base that a lot of modern perfumes are over doing. Maybe it's my nose (not my skin I always spray clothes/fabric.) The bottle is beautiful but I can't seem to make friends with this scent at all for that. I'm tired of that icky poo base in fragrances. For an idolic free version of this a good one is Venice by Noted I will stick to that. Sorry Nina.

There is something stank about this fragrance, and unfortunately it is the patchouli. I really like and enjoy patchouli, but the patchouli in this is pungent and rancid. It overwhelms the entire fragrance, and lends itself unwearable. It smells like the Kalamata Groves in Greece, coming off as a rotten scent. Sad, because the bottle is beautiful, but I am trying to declutter this.

I don't know why Venus is not available in all countries, the same happened with La bomba from CH. Both are viral. It looks like the more innovative a bottle is, the slower it gets released abroad. So, let's brake down Venus because with such a nice bottle, promising name and something new from Nina Ricci my attention was hooked. The star of the show supposed to be magnolia and I really appreciate it as a white flower, but I totally disagree with those who think that Venus is similar to JPG's Divine. Divine is an aquatic, salty gourmand where magnolia is used perfectly to shine all the way. Venus is a classic, safe, warm, almost sunscreen-y vanilla scent that starts promising but soon it softens to something you have smelled before. Magnolia just supports it for an hour. It's strange but it gives me 90's vibes. The patchouli adds a light spiciness instead of being earthy. Yes, JPG's Scandal Intense belongs to the same category (warm-vanillic-soft spicy). It could be a soft version of Allure Sensuelle from Chanel or the Intense version of Vanilla from Theodoros Kalotinis. A great gift idea for women 30+ or at least a bit mature, a safe 'office' scent, a 'serious' vanilla that doesn't fit the super-gourmand era. As I said, something that opens loudly giving the impression this is totally an evening/date option for colder seasons, but it can easily be a summer go to since it softens quite fast. Let's call it the firework effect. Venus (even as a Goddess) doesn't demand attention, it has it and she also has everything in max. That means lasting power is better compared to sillage. Imagine something new (as a release) but being at the same time vintage/classic. Very soon I will review the Intense version of it and I have a feeling I will like it a lot. For now it's a 'pass-Thank God' because my wallet needs a brake and I am finally at the moment where I start decluttering my collection. Ten is the golden goal/number. Sorry Venus, you won't be part of the family but I would gladly gift you to a beloved person of mine.

What exactly is a chypre about this....? Nothing. Olivier Cresp, please, I expected more. 🫩it’s such a basic, creamy, designer scent. I feel like with this supremely beautiful flacon they could’ve made a scent that is still approachable as they clearly tried to make this, but much more nostalgic or perhaps sensual— taking that creaminess into the Blanche bete route, or a resinous vanilla route, I wish some Francesca bianchi perfume could be in this bottle. Angel dust with some of the DNA of under my skin in this bottle would be an insane, sensual, nostalgic, femme, romantic combination but instead it’s just bland, boring, and doesn’t last. I stood at Sephora asking my fiancée— do I? Do I? Because the bottle is truly one of the most beautiful launches of the recent years, together with the recent balenciaga launch of the historical bottles, but it’s just so boring that it’s feel humanly disappointing, like a book cover that’s gilded in gold leaf and marvelous etchings but the story is soft porn.

It's a beautiful fragrance but a very generic one. What I like about it is that it has a strong sillage and stays on my skin for so long. It's a beautiful scent and everybody likes it, it's a people pleaser perfume. If you just want a fragrance to smell nice and for it to smell strong then just get it or you can buy it as a gift for any girl, the smell is very likeble, any woman could like it. I even asked my mom, my girl friends (around 18) and my aunties (30's) they all liked it and said it was very nice. I even asked the opinion of some male friends (19-23) and they also said it was a very feminine and beautiful scent. I don't regret buying this perfume, I quite love it.

The bottle looks nice in pictures, but in real life, it's very unhandy to hold and to spray, and looks like cheap metallic (matte) metal. The bottle had some faults in the store on the metal part. Does look cheap to me. And the scent. I guess if u like heavy, very sweet scents (preferably Nina Ricci), you'll like it. I hated the heavy beginning, dry down was lighter and nice. But the start was almost overpowering, guess I like a watery magnolia more than a sweet heavy one. Definately a winter scent. Scent is very generic synthetic to me. I'ld also say, for more mature ladies.

Wanted this so badly and finally blind bought it. Worth every penny just for that beautiful bottle, it is just gloriously elegant. The scent itself is pretty feminine, red carpet black long satin dress with a red lip eating a vanilla cupcake 🧁. The magnolia , citrus and florals balance the sweetness of the vanilla. I am not a vanilla lover and this one won me over ! Is it groundbreaking - no Is it worth it ? This is so worth it in my opinion ! Just love seeing this in my collections, I imagine myself wearing it in the fall/winter on a night out.

I blind bought this fragrance and my brother was present when I smelled it for the first time. Immediately loved it, it’s a warm amber floral that just reminded me of a warm hug. Extremely feminine and sensual. My brother passed away a few weeks later so now every time I wear this perfume I’m reminded of him. I also loved the fact that he liked it which motivates me to wear it so much that I’m half way through the bottle and haven’t even had it for a whole year yet.

Oh, just received and as I said below, is true, impressed!!. Glorious and bright floral, which very balanced I can clearly smell the fig milk, sweet creamy all in a clean base of its “white” patchouli, like musky, vanilla also gets importance. Is soft and strong by times, a pleasure!.. Very updated and re- newness from the brand. It has something just a tiny tiny magnolia vibe from L’air Nina Ricci, less powdery, less pronounced, but it reminds in some way, imo.

If they gave 1/10th of the thought that they had given in the bottle design, to the juice itself , they would have come up with a far better composition than this one. Even Nina Ricci Perfumes, which practically has not a single accomplishment than L'Air Du Temps 50 years ago, would end up with sth better than a magnolia-vanille cologne. This is an insult to the Venus' role in Mythology, the bottle looks like a brothe'l house deco btw.

Already the Intense version is out, and I've still not tried this one. .... Its still not in any of the shops..... I see many others saying the same. Come.on Nina Ricci, this is your first big new standalone/non-flanker in years, and hardly anyone is getting the chance to test it!! Why is it not in all Boots stores , UK for instance? They carry the other Nina Ricci s ?

I am really impressed!! From a reliable website official notes: Magnolia | Pachouli (Indonesia) | Vanilla (Planifolia) | Jasmin (Sambac) | Fig Milk | Mandarin | Magnolia leaves. Fig Milk over all, creamy, is really quite intriguing!. And the patchouli, as I read, they want to make a new updated patchouli, white and bright. Really in love in advance!!.

Avec un aussi beau flacon ils n'ont pas intérêts de se rater sur le jus chez Nina Ricci ! Sinon ça va être la douche froide.... Je me méfie tellement des grandes marques désormais et tellement déçue par les dernières créations trop commerciales que je me suis tournée vers les parfums de niche....

Hell yeah! I can tell this is going to be a masterpiece by all the details put in it, from the name, bottle and packaging. Nina Ricci is bigger in France than in the U.S., I bet it will make big bucks on first week of launch. I love the name and it even has the French accent on the letter "e".

The black lid doesn't match the bottle. It matches the intense version which is NOT refillable. That's so frustrating 😅 Can someone tell me please which of the 30, 80 and 100 ml bottles are refillable indeed? Thank you.

The bottle looks good only on pictures. In reality it's a cheap crap, so unpleasant to touch that I even decided not to test it. Maybe the juice is OK (I doubt) but... sorry, Nina Ricci, and sorry not sorry, Puig.

When I'm use this perfume I feel like Venus.At first I'm struck by the flowery tangerine, then for the rest of the time I feel magnolia and a little bit of Yasmine.

So in love with this fragance, femenine, sexy, not to intense. Very creamy makes me feel like a interesting woman! plus beautiful bottle
