Ani X

Having just received half a dozen samples of niche fragrances I've been wanting to try for a while, I was especially excited to rest nishane ani x today when I was getting ready for work. I had a monthly board meeting that I dress well for and knowing the original ani well, felt it was the right situation to take it for a spin. 1st off, the fragrance is beautiful, but especially the opening. The fresh blast of citrus that greets your nose the second you trigger the atomizer is such a perfect compliment to the original dusty vanilla base that's still here. However... The opening fades quickly and while the heart of this fragrance is nothing short of beautiful, it's lacking compared to the OG's performance. More importantly, I realized that to my nose, it dries down to a less impressive twin of another fragrance I own... One that costs less than $50. I don't see it in the "reminds me of" section above, but I've tested it side by side on skin and on paper and the majority of the wear is strikingly similar to Rochas Moustache edp. The opening is night and day: Moustache opens with a strong bergamot facet that's less exciting, fresh, or loud than the lemon and ginger smack across the face from ani x. After 5-10 minutes, they both settle down and I could barely tell them apart. This is where you're probably thinking that I'm some punk kid or and idiot to compare a remake of one of the most decorated niche vanilla fragrances of all time to what is essentially a YSL tuxedo clone (albeit a damn good jus in its own right!). I can be an idiot at times, but I've been around the block and put my nose on a decent number of fragrances. I'm telling you, they're 90% the same on the drydown. What's worse, the Ani X begins to fade quick while the Moustache almost picks up momentum at around the 30 min mark! Right now, you can get a tester of Nishane Ani X for $99 on jomashop. It's sitting in my cart right now! But I'm conflicted... I'm so tired of loving a fragrance and buying it only to bring it home and find I own at least one or two other fragrances that essentially do the same thing or smell too similar not to be redundant. I don't have the world's deepest collection by anyone's standard, but I'm running out of unique, but still versatile, profiles. It's usually too late by the time I realize a new fragrance I want to purchase is too similar to something at home and I just keep building a collection of dozens of fragrances that are cumulatively just multiple versions of twenty actually unique DNA's. In closing, I love Ani X. The opening is incredible and removed enough from the original to get me excited to pull the trigger. But that fades quickly and I'm left with... a clone of a clone of a designer fragrance? Is that right? Is my nose broken? $99 is a great price for a nishane frag of this quality...

For whatever reason I find that I enjoy wearing Ani X layered with the original quite a bit. There’s also something to be said about truly unisex fragrances because I personally think the original leans a bit more masculine and X is a bit more feminine but so many people think the opposite which I find fascinating (and kinda cool) I feel like that means this scent is really for everyone. There isn’t a single note in Ani that isn’t in Ani X, so the true differences lie, for me, with the lemon oil and the melon. I don’t outright get apple or lavender but I think they really just power up the lemon. Almost like they sacrifice themselves so that the lemon could live on. 😆 On my skin, the lemon and melon stay around the entire life of the fragrance despite them being top notes. This is an extrait de parfum so it’s not only going to last a while, it’s also going to be different from person to person. I’m only saying that because I feel like the melon doesn’t come out as much on others as it does on me. Frankly, as I type this I don’t think anyone’s reviews talk about the melon nearly enough for it to be such a standout note for me. I like melon but I don’t think I liked it enough when I first smelled X. I like Ani so much that I am going to wear it in the summertime but I also really do enjoy Ani X. I think they’re different enough to have both, but I literally can’t decide which to wear when, so I just wear both. Guess that’s what it is to have a signature scent. I literally can’t pull myself away from them. They give me comfort and I literally can’t go a day without spraying one or both on me at some point.

The spices are dialed up, the vanilla is creamier and more luxurious, and the overall composition feels more opulent. Compared to the original, Ani X leans less green and fresh, and more toward a warm, spicy, and resinous gourmand. As it dries down, the amber, sandalwood, and tonka bean create this silky, addictive warmth that just clings to the skin for hours. And when I say hours, I mean it—this stuff lasts forever! Easily 10+ hours with strong projection, making it a statement fragrance that gets noticed. If you love bold, spicy vanilla fragrances that feel both comforting and seductive, Ani X is a must-try. It’s perfect for fall and winter, special occasions, or anytime you want to feel confident and luxurious. It takes the best parts of Ani and cranks them up to the next level.

Okay so I finally caved and picked this up after seeing everyone rave about it, and yeah... it lives up to the hype. The opening is this super bright, zesty citrus and ginger punch that honestly wakes you right up — feels fresh and clean without being boring. Then it slowly settles into this creamy vanilla lemon cake vibe that I genuinely can't stop smelling on my own arm. Sounds weird written out but trust me it just works. What sells it for me is how versatile it is. I've worn it to the office, on dates, on random summer errands, and it fits every single time. It's fresh enough for warm days but has enough warmth and that cozy vanilla to carry it into fall/winter too. Legit an all-year, one-bottle-does-everything kind of scent. Performance is no joke either — lasts me all day on skin and I can still catch it on my hoodie the next morning. Gets compliments too, which never hurts. Is it a little pricey? Sure. But it smells expensive and unique in a way most stuff out there doesn't. If you want something fresh, creamy, and just a bit different from the usual crowd, this is an easy 10/10 for me.

If I hadn't known what I was smelling, I could not have made any connection between OG Ani and Ani X. Both spicy yes, but this one is sparkly, jolly unlike it's almost gothic, grumpy parent. As I don't really enjoy the OG, I find myself craving for this one, flirting with the idea of getting my own full bottle. Still not decided yet though considering the price...but the fragrance itself it's interesting enough Edit 1 week later: this has become my favourite vanilla of all the vanillas I have tried. Fresh and citrusy like Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee with which i associated Ani X the 1st time I smelled it but not as boring since Ani X has the perfect spices balance to keep it fresh but to make it extremely interesting. Ani X has become a love for me after 1st time wearing it. For the 1st 15 min or so, it has some earthy touch which I'm not crazy about but soon this touch dissipates and lets the fragrance shine. In the end, it becomes an extremely cosy vanilla. What a love for me! Big big love!

Ani X is a wonderful blend of a sweet citric opening romantically blended with an inviting and addicting dry down, Ani X opens up with an array of citrus's that soon get intertwined and replaced by a spiced Ginger, Cardamom and with a hint of Patchouli, almost gives the impression of a Lemon Meringue, the mid-dry down is seriously addicting, I go nose blind very frequently for small periods due to constantly wanting to catch a waft lol, it's definitely Unisex but I'd it sways ever so slightly masculine in a way I cant really explain? This is most definitely an all year round scent and its versatility cannot be understated lasts roughly 8-10 hours on my skin with a medium-strong projection that's prominent for 3 or 4 hours, the dry down to me is very much a smooth blend of vanilla, musk, cashmere and a faint Rose. Overall I'd personally give Ani X a 9, I don't think its a masterpiece, but it certainly isn't that far off, mass appealing, unisex, versatile, alluring, and addicting, cant ask for more

Very confusing reviews, almost as if one was not speaking of the same perfume. To me, on skin, this is: On opening - A bergamote and citrus blast with a dash of cardamom. A zesty and gorgeous waking up of the senses. After a bit you can catch a whif of tangy sweetness, maybe from the ginger an melon, but it's the pepper that stands out. Very realistic pepper, and one could be forgiven to think that you had a peppercorn stuck up your nose. The middle and base, to me, are kind of indistinguishable. The middle or heart notes don't seem to make an appearance, except for the apple and patchouli - a weird choice for a middle note, but that does in fact make a short lived appearance. Only problem is, that now I really want a lemon + cardamom + green apple + patchouli perfume. That being said, and arriving at the base notes, this is vanilla lemon powder at its finest. POV: If you are looking for a Lira adjacent, but less gourmand, look no further.

This one is intense and also sweet, with a strong melon note right from the start. The first time I smelled it, I instantly fell in love with that juicy melon vibe. For me, it somehow smells like bubble gum—I’m not sure if anyone else gets that, but I absolutely love it. There’s also this creamy vanilla and other sweet tones I can’t quite describe, but together they’re just amazing. I actually bought a decant first, sprayed it twice... and within five minutes, I was online ordering a full bottle. That’s how much I liked it. If you love sweet fragrances, I think you’ll fall for this one too. It reminds me of how I wear Althair in the winter—Ani X feels like the perfect summer version of that kind of vibe. I haven’t tried the OG Ani yet, but honestly, I’m already seriously in love with Ani X. It feels very unisex, super happy and uplifting, and honestly—if I smelled this on someone else, I’d find it really sexy.

This is an absolute masterpiece! All year round signature scent worthy, I couldn’t recommend this enough! If I had to rebuild my collection this would definitely be one of my first purchases. One of the most beautiful and mass appealing niche fragrances I’ve smelled. The vanilla, cashmere, sandalwood and cardamom gives it that luxurious smell along with the fresh citrus opening that gives it that perfect all year round effect and that melon note is just something else that you can’t get from any other fragrance! this is truly one of the only niche fragrances I would recommend to any guy just because of how versatile and unique it is really just gives you what you pay for. The only thing I would change is the lavender note for iris just to make it smell even more luxurious I feel like the lavender doesn’t add much. Other than that it’s a solid 10/10 even taking the price into consideration!

Ani X is really special. It doesn't remind me of anything in particular - just the fact that times are moving and all we can do is reminisce. It gives the sense of falling into a trance - having your best memories flash before your eyes, before returning to reality and wishing to experience those memories one more time. Makes me wish I could travel back in time to when everything was simpler, without responsibilities or people to take care of, when the worst thing imaginable was the teacher giving you homework, when everything seemed to be taller and more saturated than today, before having our dreams and ambitions dulled out by society's norms and expectations. Never thought a scent I've never smelled before could evoke such emotions. Yet here we are. Needless to say, I love this fragrance - it also doesn't hurt that it has amazing performance.

Nishane Ani is one of my most complimented perfumes ever. I bought OG 3 times, Ani X 2 times. I always come back to quality, durability, safe hand, which has been tested and proven. This perfume is seductive, long-lasting, tickles the nose, but not irritatingly, but sweetly and seductively. The perfume is complex due to the number of notes in it, but it's as if each note makes sense and forms a whole. For my fellas, women generally like Vanilla, this Vanilla is sexy, eatable, squeezable. Every girl will crawl under your shirt and smell you and feel safe. [8.9/10] All Year Signature Scent Certified - A Modern Classic Ani X is the closest I've come to finding the perfect all year-round scent. The scent, blend, sillage, and performance is exceptional. Incredibly versatile and mass appealing, this could be your one bottle collection. This is essentially an uplifting Ani, rounding off the heavy sweet vanilla by adding some bright citruses. However, I still think citrus and vanilla is an odd combination smelling slightly sour at first but blends in the dry down. You basically smell like a lemon cake. If you struggle to find a high-quality year-round daily signature, but this could be it. If you're looking for a high quality versatile vanilla scent, this is one of the best. Only negative is its overpriced for a slightly different Ani.

⭐ 5/5 Stars Ani X is absolutely incredible, and I can't sing its praises enough. From the very first wear, I was completely hooked. Out of all the fragrances in my collection, this is the one that consistently gets me the most compliments. Every time I wear it, someone asks what I'm wearing. The performance is outstanding beautiful projection, impressive longevity, and a scent trail that gets noticed in the best way possible. It has that rare combination of being both sophisticated and attention-grabbing without feeling overwhelming. This is one of those fragrances that instantly earned a permanent spot in my collection. I honestly can't imagine ever not having a bottle on hand. If I had to narrow down my collection, Ani X would be one of the last fragrances standing.

This is a lil bit stronger than the OG on the new batch. I tried to compare this with the OG from batch 2022 and 2023, X won, but not by big margin. I'll try to left it for a month to see any improvement, as i just got it today. Anyone who says this is weaker than the OG prolly compare it with the old batch before it got reformulated. Scent wise, this is just a bit more green on the opening, but on the dry down it smells the same as the OG to my amateur nose. If u love the OG DNA but disappointed with the new batch, get this, its slightly better in the performance.. Somehow i feel that the extrait concentration on Ani is a big BS. I have several extrait concentration from the other brands, they're way more oily than Ani, and lasts longer by big margin.

I have no idea how the original Ani smells like but this scent is truly something. A showstopper type of scent - impressive, multifaceted, and intriguing. From the first sniff, it's captivating and unique. I haven't smelled anything like this before, and I've sniffed hundreds of fragrances. What is special about this scent is that it managed to combine opposite type of scent profiles and make it work beautifully. It's deep, cozy yet fresh and modern. The number and variety of notes may appear overwhelming at first, but they were surprisingly well blended. I would imagine it being a great special occasion fragrance, but I wouldn't mind smelling it in an office. Unisex. One of the best scents I had tested in 2023 so far. Great stuff. I'm impressed.

I finally bought it... and now I understand the respect this fragrance receives. Ani X doesn’t just smell “good” it smells important. The original Ani is very good to me, but I found it to be too sweet and spicy with the vanilla and ginger. I really like it, but not full bottle worthy to me. Ani X smells a little different here. It still has that Ani DNA, but I kinda feel like it is inspired by Electimuss' Imperium because of how sweet yet bright it is. They both have that "brightness" or freshness from the citruses, but they also have that sweet vanilla. Ani X is more lemony and I can feel it from the opening till the near-drydown phase of the scent. That creates a great balance between the sweetness, spiciness, and freshness. Overall, I enjoy it more than the original Ani and Imperium. One of my favourite fragrances from Nishane.

I waited way too long to buy this. Every time I smelled it in store, I adored it, and I even thought about it often at home😂 When that happens, you know it is a truly special scent. I now own a full bottle, and damn, it is such and amazing scent. I was getting it mainly for summer, but this is so versatile. Can be worn any day, at any time. Signature worthy. Compliment magnet, seems like everyone loves this. It also has a personal resonance for me. Because it reminds me of lemon cookies at my grandmothers place when I was young. Creamy, smooth vanilla and beautiful lemon. Nefs was my favorite from Nishane, but that has now changed. 10/10, just buy it.

If you prefer citrus, peppery, and fruity notes with ginger over vanilla and spices, you'll likely enjoy this much more than Ani. While I appreciate Ani's captivating opening, it quickly fades, leaving behind an unappealing ordinary vanilla cake aroma with faint spice. In contrast, this fragrance maintains its vibrant opening throughout, complemented by a delightful blend of fruity spices and vanilla too. Ani X is punchier, prettier, and more refined for those who strongly prefer citrus and ginger over vanilla. It's potent, long-lasting, and has excellent projection, it's just Ani perfected, I love it.

Green, citrus, sugary, smooth and well bodied, Ani X has so much going on and does it with style and grace. Opening with sweet melon and lemon, this doesn't veer too far into fruity as the firey ginger and pink pepper give it a jolt. The green apple pops while the velvty vanilla is divine and gives a sweet dessert quality, however the well crafted floral notes stop this from becoming sickening or cloying. Theres so much in Ani X that is familiar but uniquely different. This is a versatile, "happy" fregance, that would not be out of place at the office or a formal event.

Wearing this feels like a trail of heavenly fragrance is leading me to destiny. I visualize a cartoon tendril of fragrance guiding me to a realm of lighter gravity. I am the wearer but Ani X is my counselor. If I pay close enough attention, I too might float effortlessly. I try to capture it by taking it deep within my lungs but remain earthbound. What luck to have my head in this gorgeous cloud, breathing deeply in splendor. It is so bright and effortless. Perfect for a long walk to clear your mind or make decisions, yoga class, giving grace.

After years of people whispering sweet nothings about Ani X in my ear, I finally succumbed and blind-bought it during Jomashop’s Valentine’s Day siren call. The opening cardamom hits me like it wants to have a very serious conversation, but once I survive that initial phase, the drydown struts in fully blended, polished, and f@cking fabulous. As an extrait, it absolutely knows it’s now THAT f@cking fabulous perfume in my collection and I’m very much looking forward to letting it make a dramatic appearance at a work conference later this week.

Nishane Ani X was love at first sniff! So many TikTokers and influencers describe this scent differently, and that's the beauty of it—everyone perceives it in their own way, but it's amazing every single time 😂 To me, it smells like a delicate lemon pie on a rich vanilla base. They combined contrasting notes so skillfully that it turned out to be a real symphony. On my skin, it lasts an eternity and survives any activity—12+ hours easy. Even when it settles into a soft skin scent, it still smells magical.

That's amazing. So where Ani is a punchy ginger cardamom Fire type pokemon carried by a foundation of vanilla, Ani X is an Electric type. Haha basically the ginger and cardamom is still there but it's more like a jolt now than a hot desert wave. It's so bright. The fruit is definitey more prominent and stays much longer on the image of the OG Ani than Hacivat X for example. There is still some heat dont get wrong, but it just rests on warm and never goes all the way like the original.

A beautiful, sweet-spicy dance that the wind was simply made to carry. This scent truly comes alive on windy days. The movement of the air catches the ginger and bergamot top notes, weaving them into the creamy, spicy vanilla base to create an intoxicating scent trail (sillage) that follows you like a golden shadow. It strikes a perfect balance—spicy enough to have character, but smooth enough to feel soft and inviting on the skin. All year round scent. Love it!

This scent caught me completely off guard. I blind bought it, so I wasn’t expecting much. The very first sniff didn’t wow me, probably because I already had another fragrance on that day and just couldn’t wait to try it. Later, though, I got to experience its citrus opening and that addictive drydown, and it is truly beautiful. The opening is citrusy, but not in the way you would expect. This is a full-on contemplative, feel-good fragrance. Just get it.

It's a beautiful blend of (notably) citrus, spicy pepper and ginger, layered over a creamy vanilla scent. A different supporting note seems to come into focus each wear, but no component ever becomes overbearing. It's just spicy enough, just sweet enough, just fresh and ctirus-laden enough, and I can't get enough of it. Lasts a long time, I can frequently smell it on my inner arm after 12 hours. Doesn't fare as well in the heat, but that's as expected.

Yes, "Lemon Cake" or "Lemon biscuits" smell, no denial about that. I would classify it as a citrus gourmand scent for sure. I also do agree with the Mancera Cedrat Boise comparisons but I have to say I prefer this Ani scent way more. This has something that is more addictive and less synthetic to it which made me tolerate this DNA. Perfectly unisex and I see it as a colder weather scent due to it being a great performer. I loved it.

Anything positive said about this fragrance is likely true. Smooth citrus and vanilla combo with fruity and musky nuances blended to an extremely fine quality. This is a quintessential fragrance to me that surpasses even the original, especially when you're factoring in performance. It lowkey smells like lemon cheesecake but I'm kinda into that type of thing personally. This fragrance resonates with me in a different way.

A beautifully fresh and airy fragrance that I truly enjoy every time I wear it. It carries a subtle elegance, never too sweet or overpowering, which makes it a great fit for my taste. I find it perfectly suitable for all seasons and occasions, whether it’s morning or evening. On my skin, the longevity is very good and the sillage is soft but noticeable. Definitely a fragrance I’d love to repurchase in the future.

I don’t know the original Ani but this one is something amazing. About 10 years ago a had this amazing lemon meringue tart in Thessaloniki and this fragrance is the liquid form of that sweet vanilla lemon meringue with a splash of cardamom and lavender. It s unisex but leans more feminine, good performance and silage, kinda of all weather fragrances, I am currently wearing it in hot summer and it’s great!

I have 20+ perfumes. I've tried 100+ When I tell you this is one of the best perfumes in the world, please trust my word. Masterclass, highest level of perfumery. Most original and unique. Quality beyond belief. Masterpiece, Masterclass, Mastered in all. Beyond what I imagined perfumery could be, above and beyond. This is the standard for high class fragrances and perfumery. Perfect score 10/10.

Such a gorgeous more citrus take on the already perfected Gormand vanilla Ani. This is an upgrade to me. It lasts very long for a borderline gourmand fresh citrus scent. The dry down is also a lighter citrus vanilla with a hint of floral. Like a lemon cake. I layer this with original Ani or Oud Satin Mood and I have stalkers behind me asking what I’m wearing. One of my favorite fragrances

Even though I was wining below that i love it but it's too expensive...i did it! I got my own 100 ml bottle. I sold so many other fragrances to get it and even added more cash..it's worth it. I prefer 5-6 fragrances that are a love for me rather than tens of meh and nice ones. Days are too precious to waste them smelling nice. I want to smell awsome. This is awsome! I adore it!

This is so captivating, fresh, zingy, spicy, alluring. Uh I love it! Maybe I even like it more than the original. Another plus is how strong it is, old Ani was a beast compared to this but new reformed version is tame which is a letdown.. Definitely a chic hottie scent! I love this perfume, specially the melon scent. You can smell it but in a very refine and elegant way. The first time I smell this perfume I fell in love. So it is literaly, love at the first sniff. This perfume is ideal for the office and dates during the day. It is a long lasting perfume and it also projects. A great addition to your collection.

Creamy zesty lemon meringue done right, the fruity nuisances are beautiful and add a more youthful playfulness to it as well as a nice freshness making this wearable in the warmer months.Yet the vanilla and musks make this perform well for the colder months. Incredibly expensive but one of my favourite frags that I've tried.Addictive and edible.

It might be the best creation of Nishane. You can clearly detect all the notes. Especially lemon, melon, bergamot, ambergris, and musk are very prominent. After synthetic fruity fragrances, I’m sure this will feel like a remedy. If we compare it with the original Ani, I’m not sure which one is better, but Ani X is a perfect fragrance.

This was the first Nishane I bought. Blind bought too. WOW WOW WOW is it gorgeous! The best way, it’s an elegant blend of rich oils, that come together to take you thru an experience. It’s not just one or two notes, it smells elegant and creamy and rich! Settles into a tea scent with a hint of “middle eastern rich class”

this is just ani if it was focused on being more sweet and fresh than the spices we see in the normal verison. that being said, the vanilla mixed with the citruses and the added melon make for a great scent to me. will most likely get a 50 ml of ani and 50 ml of ani x when my 100 ml of ani runs out (probably soon) 9.5/10

For me this is slightly more masculine than the original which is a beautifully blended vanilla bomb, this one has a lovely citrus opening that’s seem to last throughout the wearing, when the vanilla does kick in it doesn’t overwhelm the opening. Perfect for the summer and seems to last forever with good projection.

Nishane's Ani X is an amazing fragrance that captures the essence of both elegance and warmth. From the moment my girlfriend applied last month, she talked about a smooth blend of floral and spicy undertones. It's perfectly balanced and has an undeniable depth that makes it suitable for both day and night wear.

The first time I smelled this as it was a blind buy, I didn’t really like it. But after using it twice, I have learned to love the scent. The vanilla scent is very pronounced on this one but is being balanced by the citrus during dry down. Also the vanilla on this one is very sophisticated and not overbearing.

This is my happy fragrance. Extremely people pleasing, absurd versatility, absurd performance for what is a relatively fresh aromatic fragrance, and is the perfect amount of sweet to elevate any day, even in the summer when scents like this can tend to be cloying. An absolute joy and one of my favorites ever.

its a perfect balance between fresh and a warm scent, the opening is very citrusy but after a while its comes down to a vanilla lemon cake smell, and its amazing really. From my personal view i dont think ani x is like the og ani at all. smell 9/10 longivety 8.5/10 sillage 7/10 Overall: Recomend

sprayed this on a sample paper and could still smell the strong vanilla after two days. enormous longevity , sillage not sure because didnt spray on myself started off lemony,melon, bergamot, then transitioned to lemon vanilla, absolutely beautiful scent, suggested for unisex

I think this is one of the cleanest freshest vanilla scents I’ve tried. Its almost feminine leaning on me but I would say quite unisex. Its not too much of anything really. Not too spicy or vanillic or dusty but just right. All season user friendly like a good pair of jeans!

One of the best offerings of the Nishane house. All seasons wearable, versatile, great for date night as much as it is safe for office use. Sweet but that spicy/zesty opening makes sure you will never feel suffocating in a vanilla bag. Go for it, safe for blind buy.
