Mana

First off, don’t care about the ones writing crap about it comparing it to Montale or whatever. They have either not tried this, are clueless about what to expect from different notes or, like someone said - are paid by competitors to bash other perfumes. Below is my take. I’m by no means an expert on perfume but rather a amateur with a big interest in perfumes. My only credits in this field is the books by Luca Turin (Secret of scent for example) and a few sitting with actual pros who’ve answered my questions. So don’t take anything I write as “truth”. 1st question: is this similar to Ombre Nomade? Yes. I really like a few of the Louis Vuitton offerings and Ombre Nomade is one of them. This is 90% similar. 2nd question: Is the oud in this a clear synthetic accord? No, I really don’t think so. I have Ensar, Bortnikoff, pure oud flakes and a bunch of other very authentic aged ouds. I also have a few Amorouds and Tom Ford for example that has synthetic accords. This is not the latter. If anything, this leans slightly barnyard in the opening. 3rd: Is it worth having this if you have ON or over ON? Subjective of course but no. I have this instead of ON but more out of accident (a blind trade) than anything else. But I won’t change it for ON or buy the latter. There’s a few differences between this and ON. ON is IMHO heavier on the ambery aspects of the scent. Mainly due to the use a certain Symrise component. But more on that soon. This also does not have the fruitiness of ON (raspberry mainly). The wood in this is guaiac (and a bit of sandalwood) where as in ON its birch accompanied by a heady dose of amberwood or ethoxymethoxy cyclododecane for those who prefer the chemical term. This is the ambery part of ON. And I’m guessing it’s used extensively in ON. I don’t get that in Mana. The dose of rose is similar between the two (even though I’m not sure it’s the exact same type of rose). However, a rose accord has about 50 parts so it can be the same but slightly altered. Guaiac wood in Mana adds to the leathery, smokey aspects of the perfume and paired with the (synthetic) castoreum you get a slightly more animalic feel of the perfume overall. I like that. I find Mana a tad more spicy (although not in a gourmand sense of the meaning of the word). I do, however don’t experience Mana as much smoother or well rounded that ON. They are about the same in this aspect. I like ’em both! I have about 10 oud/rose fragrances and this is a take I really like!

Blind bought ut even I had ombre nomade from louis vuitton which is similar. And after the first sprays .. yes it is similar its the same family, but what if I told you there are tons of perfumes in the same family around the middle east? So let's skip that and let's talk about mana. It opens quit beautiful with that saffron and beneath immediately a beautiful animalistic smokey accord. I assume it's real Oud because it's holding the opening the mid and drydown together like it sticks on the whole skin and doesn't evaporate the whole thing haha. That being said it does project crazy and leaves an gorgeous silage. The drydown is bit more airy, bit more animalic musky touches but it does not change much from the open and mid. I don't think that was the goal of the perfumer anyway. I think what makes this one special in this family is that it holds that strong oriental vibe along the journey. So back to comparison.. yes o have ombre nomade which is also beautiful, but this doesn't have sharp edges on that animalistic smoky touch from the oud and leather accord. It contains real Oud, it smells smoother more refined and keeps everything together. Unfortunately with ombre nomade that I like the opening, quick fades in to the leather fruity with some rose touches. The oud accord dissappear to quick for me where this fixes that and also contains pure oud and you can feel smell and understand that... real oud can make you calm somehow at least it feels very spiritual to me.. don't forget it was a real trea so a lots of energy anyways! 9/10 I love this line since I've them all now. This one is second after nefs for me, and not a 10 because of the fact that I miss something. Yes it's profile is familiar but this is perfect, but just because of that I expected nishane to be a tiny bitt different but still great artistic perfumery. Def. Try it out even if you dislike this kind of perfume

Since I started collecting fragrances, I have been looking for the “one” to be a statement maker... This is that fragrance. Two sprays is plenty. 3 will fill a room. Lasts for days on clothing. I bought this for 194 dollars on jomashop and am delighted. You get what you pay for. When I first smelled it, my reaction was... this will take me a minute to wrap my nose around. I still smell new subtleties occasionally. It’s so complex and interesting, while simultaneously being the basic Arab oud, rose, saffron combo (with a leathery tinge from the castoreum/suede/oud). Let me elaborate. When you first spray it, you get a spicy opening that doesn’t last very long. You may also notice some base notes pop up here or there early on, like the olibanum/labdanum/sandalwood. The Black pepper sings on my skin, and the cardamom and ginger provide support along with a slight citrus and which I can only contribute to the labdanum. The castoreum is the first note to pop its head out of the mid, followed quickly by the rose and saffron. The castoreum lingers throughout the scent leaving behind leathery scent trails. By the time the mid notes present themselves, the spicy opening is no longer detectable. The rose here is masterfully presented. It’s clean and creamy - which I can attribute to hints of sandalwood. The oud here is leathery and not horribly challenging, animalistic, or barnyard-y. I’ve worn this to work in winter and gotten compliments- it won’t be an every day wear but it’s top tier perfumery whenever I bust it out. Works best for events or places you want to be noticed.

Most people in the comments are new in the fragrance game that hear what Tiktok has to say about perfumes so they tried out Nefs.. Most of them are allured by Nefs and naturally want to try some other creations from the Prestige line.. The problem is.. Nefs is a truly likeable and mass appealing scent that you don't need to have a "matured nose" to appreciate; however Mana in the other hand.. is not as likeable and as smooth and as linear as Nefs. I consider Mana Nishane's masterpiece. Most people that call out "synthetic" notes in the reviews below have no idea how a perfume is made.. and there is nothing wrong with that at all.. but please get informed, every perfume niche or not has synthetic notes to it that completes the perfume.. Most perfumers when that exact question gets dropped in an interview they all say that chemistry and synthetic notes are essential and absolutely necessary, think of it like an alphabet without A, C, and F, or Do-Re-Mi without Do, Fa, and So. In my opinion the oud in this is not synthetic you can pretty much smell how good the raw material is in this. This is a luxury product, you either have the means for it to be intended for you, or you don't, and there's nothing wrong with that. And as I said in an older review below.. this is real niche perfumery. I don't know how sad you can be as a person to just press "hate" on a perfume just because it's expensive. People are reviewing scents here, not prices.

Its complexity reveals nuance hour after hour—smoky, sweet, spicy, then dry and leathery. In my view, it’s a perfect 10/10. A fragrance that doesn’t just wear—it performs. It’s artistic, memorable, and unapologetically powerful—a true expression of meaning, just as its name suggests.

This is a beautiful frag. (Imo) The performance is amazing. (+12hrs) The silage is pretty big. 99% of ouds in frags are fake so why is everyone complaining? Yes, the price is high so check discount sites if you really need this in your life. If you don’t then bro just pass and chill. Yes, it smells like other frags but not an exact match to Ombré Nomad. Yes, Ombre Nomad will probably suffice. This scent is not what I would call a blind buy.. sample first obviously. I would call this pretty unisex. I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily a cold weather frag but definitely not a midsummer frag. However, be bold who may. The packaging is well made, beautiful and the bottle is lovely and makes up for some of the price tag (if that matters to you). Hopefully that helps someone.

Rank: I love it and think it's actually different then the other rose ouds on the market. Once again everyone saying it's overpriced is buying 15 percent concentrations for 200 and thinking this is fair. This has 35 percent concentration and 10p percent uses real oud. And to say nishane is a disappointment baffles my mind as it's a top three house for me. Yes they use chemicals but not at the cost of the quality like most designers imho. In fairness I'm a big Christian provenzano fan as well so I like most of what he does. If you have smelled nebulous by boedecia this is like that but less skanky. Disregard anything dude below me said this is a masterpiece and I have 300 high end niche full bottles in my collection

A beautiful Rose Oud combo scent which it took me a long time to understand its beauty. Smells exactly like how I would imagine a young arabic prince: extremely elegant, sophisticated and also bold This scent captivates a beautiful blend of high quality oud, rose, saffron and in the base, a smooth leather/suede. Nuclear performance, filled my entire apartment with 3 sprays and had 36h performance (im not joking) Perfectly unisex I would say, if it wasnt for the suede in it, would’ve maybe leaned masculine If you love oud fragrances, this is definitely worth to check out 10/10, one of the best oud fragrances I’ve ever tried for sure

Ok Mana, you win. Game over. Fit for a king. Nothing like it out there. Masterful blend, smooth, complex, elegant - and worth its weight in gold. Didn’t think oud/leather could come much better than Oud Stallion, but this truly is one of the most regal things your nose could ever get a whiff off. A week later after initial application, the sillage from my jacket is so darn good it beggars belief. The price is high, but then again you pay for what you get - quality and exclusivity - not many will ever smell this good. I want this poured into my coffin for when I depart this world because there’s no better way to leave.

Synthetic oud bumhole pong (not a problem for me) with delicate rose and some sort of pissy índole reminding me of narcissus or chamomile. It's sort of like Oud Silk Mood without the clinically pristine facet and with a more realistic seeming barnyard oud accord and a more spicy zesty shimmer from the ginger and olibanum I guess. It's nice but these scents are ten a penny. Or perhaps ten a grand. Update: the drydown gets aggressive and scratchy. It's too much, which I guess is in keeping with the brand. If you like fragrances that scream and choke people out, this is right up there.

The 500 individuals down voting Nishane Mana's similarity to LV Ombre Nomade are insane. I own a bottle of Ombre Nomade and it is among my favorite scents ever. Yet, even I can admit Nishane Mana is a SMOOTHER version of Ombre Nomade. There are SUBTLE differences, but this is VERY similar. The leather/oud accords in Mana is highly similar to the oud/incense accords in Ombre Nomade, while having a distinct leather aspect to it, but it subtle. The overall feeling is one of 90-95% similarity, with noticeably more smoothness in Mana. Unfortunately, they also share similar price points

There are like 4 or 5 people below saying this is synthetic oud lmao. If they really believe Christian, one of the kings of bringing eastern scents to the western world, would attach his name to a thousand dollar perfume that's synthetic, they obviously know nothing about perfume or oud. Nothing about the oud is synthetic or overly barnyard. They are just westernized to think synthetic oud is real. This is not only unique for a rose oud, but I would say it's the best one I own. It's also 35 percent oil concentration, hence the longevity and projection.

HOLY S**T, this is a sexy ass leather fragrance. A mastered piece of art that I fell in love with instantly. Opens almost airy from ginger and adds some spiciness that ignites your senses then the suede, oud and rose take over the show and collectively combine together to form a beautifully blended fragrance. Not one material is outshining the other, you can smell the REAL oud and it’s not overpowering at all but it will let you know it’s there. Def a 10/10 for me and I smell the similarities between LV Ombré Nomade but this is just better 🤷🏽♂️

I never thought I would want to smell like poop but yes. Super intense and dark, resinous, spicy + horse manure mixed with hay. Unisex but for mature people. Lasts for 2 days on skin (you can feel it after showering too), super strong projection. I would not dare wear it during day or in small spaces. It is magnificent but I will not be buying the full bottle because I refuse to pay this price, and I would not finish it in 2 lifetimes. IMHO perfumes like this should come in 10ml bottles - 30ml max.

Ahhhhh Mana, you are so good. This perfume has a very fare review section. Yes it is over priced, yes it smells like ombre nomade, yes it is very strong with eternal longevity. I also heard someone say it is linear, and this is also true, although I prefer the word reliable. But if you tried it and loved it, everything will make sense and none of the above can change that. This is a fragrance that I can never get sick of, and never regret the purchase.

Bought a decant for testing and was blown away. It's a big fragrance, really big. It's also pricey, but I have trouble finding fragrance that lasts any length of time on me, and this one does, so I got a bottle, and now I want to wear it all the time. Fabulous scent that the women where I get my hair cut just loved. And they told me they could still smell it after they were closed for two days. It's that big.

I feel like a broken record on fragrantica. THIS PERFUME IS ONE 45 PERCENT CONCENTRATION. So the price reflects that. Along with real Thai oud and is what contributes to the high price tag. Anyone who wears it and smells it on their clothes 2 days later will understand what I'm talking about. But keep spending 250 on jo molone colgnes that are 15 percent oil max and keep reapplying all day.

I can't with all these reviews? One is edp one is an extrait with almost triple the juice, nomade doesn't touch this in my opinion, to think this is more synthetic is laughable. Ugh Ps- just so everyone knows a lot of these brands competitors pay reviewers to shit on frags, so take what you read on fragrantica.com with a grain of salt. Most have never even put their nose to them

Very close to ombré nomade. Can’t be mad at the price with the quality that you are getting in Nishane! Over 30% concentration and real oud being used here. 12+ on longevity leaning masculine. This is more rounded and complete compared to ombre nomade. Beautiful presentation and bottle! You can pick up on Jomashop for a huge discount! Sample before purchasing.

It smells exactly like Ombré Nomade but I love this scent so it’s fine with me. It has the same Oud to Rose balance which makes it masculine leaning compared to other oud rose combinations. Owning both is very redundant though so I would skip on this and get LV Ombré Nomade instead since it comes in a bigger bottle and can be refilled at a cheaper price.

Love it. Bought it because I got a probe of ON from LV and didn't see a point in buying a bottle for over 500 bucks. That is ridiculous and since I have other Nishane which I love like Sultan and Flames I decided to get it. No regrets. It's a dupe 100% and for me better in its own way since I like supporting the Turkish brand. LV is too shady.

Powerful, masculine, with a nuclear midrange/heart for the first couple of hours, while being sweet and honied. Feels like lasers emanating from my wrists. Reminds me of other quality rose/oud combinations such as Nishane Nefs and Xerjoff Alexandria II, but this is its own thing. Dries down to the thickest-smelling leather.

Smells like a synthetic Montale oud base, the exact same one used in Oud Pashmina, which is a bit more rosy and less leather-y. I got the Oud Pashmina for around $90, so the $600 price tag on the 50ml Nishane is laughable. Save your coin, find a Montale oud you like, and stink up the place with a lot more satisfaction.

Beautiful Rose Oud fragrance, very potent and pleasing. I get the comparison with Ombre Nomade, but Mana is not as animalic. I find it much closer to More than Words. Now, is it worth the asking retail price considering that the rose oud combo has been done thousands times? I would probably pass and prefer the 2 above.

A powerhouse. It's in that spectrum of Ombre Nomade and Gucci the Voice of the Snake, but Mana is superior to both of them. The notes are well blended and it's very sophisticated and luxurious. That said, although it's a gorgeous parfume, it's quite hard to think of an occasion when and where to wear this

Stunning! It’s like a stronger leather based Ombré Nomade and more masculine. The leather is smoother and milder than that of Tuscan Leather and blends well. I love it. Above average performance and for evening wear and special occasions. Shukran Habibi!

Blind bought this. Rough, animalistic, spicy leather off my skin. Absolutely love it. It’s rated unisex, but I would definitely say it’s far more masculine than most people are saying. That being said I couldn’t possibly recommend it more. Easy 12/10.

LV Ombré Nomade + Xerjoff More Than Words (not as fruity as Xerjoff). This fills a room, so whoever enters long afterwards will be smelling it the moment their foots in the door. Highly recommended. 10/10 masterclass.

There are very few times a fragrance blows your mind. This was one of those rare occasions for me. This is a masterpiece in my opinion. I look forward to those special moments that I can rock this

Spray it on your clothes in July and it will be on them until March. Very high concentration of perfume. Smells like a luxury leather shoe store with 2-3 bouquets of roses. A true premium oud.

This is so similar to my nose to Ombre Nomad with the edges softened just a bit. Its just as good, lasts just as long. But for the price, I'll buy the Ombre Nomad and save $300.

I find this fragrance so intoxicating and sexy. Very expensive but if you can afford it, why not indulge? Lasts forever on skin. Incredible quality. Try before you buy.

A sexy wild perfume, which after a while is tamed, gives an eternal smell. If you want a wild animal perfume that ends with rose and saffron, definitely try this.

@slobonmycob- Yep totally agree. This is much better and better performing than ombre for sure. On my skin it lasts over 15 hours and on clothes 7 days easily.

For me its kinda smelling like Initio Side Effect. Only the sweet jammy cherry is the Turkish rose. Its sweet and dark in the same time. I like it...

This is an absolutely stunning scent, but I guess I'll stay with Ombre Nomade as the budget option here.

Whilst certainly not for everyone, it is leagues above Ombre Nomad in terms of quality.

i tried ombre nomade, jean lowe noir and mana and here is a comparison: -Longevity: Both Manna and Ombre Nomade last 24h+, and I feel like the samples of Manna I have could last for three generations after me. Jean lowe noir lasts about eight hours at best on the skin, but it’s 100 ml and double the volume of Manna, so it can be reapplied during the day, which for me is not a problem considering its double volume compared to Manna. -Scent profile: Manna’s scent is a little more complex than Ombre Nomade, but overall the scent is similar. The main difference between the two is at the start. Manna opens with a stronger oud note(woody and slightly toasted feel to it) combined with castoreum creating a nice warm and animalic vibe. though the animalic feel lasts only a few minutes on my skin, the oud here is combined with cardamom and spicy notes. The opening of Manna reminds me of oud-based creations by Xerjoff like Luxor and Alexandria II Anniversary. After about half an hour, the oud kinda lightens and the other notes become more prominent. The same "artificial" oud accord found in Ombre Nomade (woody, leather, smoky, and gasoline-like) is also in Manna albeit the castoreum and labdanum make the leather feel more natural in the manna, along with the rose accord from Ombre Nomade (a reconstructed rose and geranium accord) the real rose can also be felt in mana just like the ombre nomade. Ombre Nomade has about 15% natural ingredients, in mana I personally sense a higher dose of natural ingredients. Notes like cardamom, aromatic peppers, more oud, resins, and castoreum in small doses make Manna’s scent feel a bit more natural, polished, and softer than Ombre Nomade. Ombre Nomade is a blend of rose, fruit, leather, and wood, but Manna seems to have taken that scent and added a yellowish filter of warmer spices, faint resinous notes, and a bit more oud. The resinous and spicy notes in Manna do not at all turn towards a "spice shop" feel , which is a positive point for me. also manna got iso e super unlike the ombre nomade that has none. If both were 100 ml, I would have said mana was better, but at the other hand ombre nomade is 100 ml and its longevity is like mana , overall both have low purchase value at retail prices imho, and I feel there’s no clear superiority here; personal taste and the ability to get either at a better price decide which is "better." -Jean Lowe Noir is basically Ombre Nomade without the low dose of real rose and oud, and its scent quality is slightly lower. Manna is higher quality than Jean Lowe, with a higher dose of natural ingredients, and its scent feels smoother and more polished. In the world of scents, the higher the quality of oils, the softer and cleaner the scent, with less sharpness and less “harsh” character. Jean Lowe noir scent is sharper and rougher on the nose compared to Ombre Nomade and Manna, indicating the oil quality is good but not excellent (like Manna and Ombre Nomade). though, for six hundred dollars, the quality have to be top notch. Overall, the more expensive perfumes you smell, the more you notice the milder and more polished feeling compared to cheaper ones that feel harsher. But for its price, Jean lowe is a much wiser choice compared to Manna imho, and personally, I prefer good and affordable quality over excellent quality but a exorbitantly priced scent. thank you for reading, hope you have a great day.

Mana from Prestige collection of my favorite Turkish house Nishane is one of their latest releases. Expectations been set high knowing my most favorite NEFS and SHEM that was also very unique to me. Unfortunatelly Mana didn’t follow previous excellent releases. I don’t mean to say the perfume is bad – Mana is high quality western oud/rose/leathery type of fragrance with stunning performance and silage and I love the smell but the issue is Mana didn’t bring anything new to my nose nor to the market. To me it has 95% (if not more) similarity with Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade which I love. From Mana I would expect they eventually use the ombre nomade base but try to bring something new into it – like adding prominent fruit note or sweeten it up with honey ore peru balsam. Considering its price tag and it’s 50ml – it was a mistake to purchase something that smell almost identical but costs 3 times more than already expensive ombre nomade (maybe if I wouldn’t know Ombre Nomade I would be obsessed with Mana smell but unfortunately it’s already in my collection and smell is well-know in fragrance market/community. I will look forward for new Nishane releases especially in their prestige collection but won’t blind buy bottle that costs 530EUR if they won’t come with something new.

Where to start with Mana? The comparison to Ombre Nomade is understood, but this is much more than that. The first 4-6 hours, this plays a good stand in for Ombre Nomade, less sweet, less "synthetic", more of a "flat" bassy foundation with the castoreum. Mana really packs a punch. But it's after the 6 hour mark that really gets you, when this unexpectedly dries into a... Cypriol bomb?? Think a less spicy Amouage Journey Man, or a less fruity Frederic Malle Promise. To flatten this perfume as "redundant with Ombre Nomade" sells both fragrances short. They both have their place. If you can only pick one: I find Mana to be more "wearable" even with the heavy castoreum opening, whereas Ombre Nomade has more of a tendency to cloy with the sweet, synthetic, smoky aggressive top and middle notes. Mana takes the wearer on a journey, Ombre Nomade is more one dimensional. Is there a conclusion here? I'm afraid not. Sometimes life is like that. Just open strings of occurrence, subject to interpretation. Mana is good. Get it on discount.

Deep. Dark. Dense. Robust. Heavy, yet Smooth and fresh. If you're into Oud and suede/leather, this is a good one. It's got much going on, and is clearly made with high quality naturals. I can detect how the notes, especially the Oud and rose, develop from opening to far into dry down. It Oozes quality. Some times, i get a hint of something sour. Not so i'd call it a sour scent. It has freshness despite being a heavy dark and dense fragrance. I wouldn't hate haveing a bottle. But i'll never pay the amount this collection is going for. I am Impressed. I'll save my sample for those rare occasions i'dwear a scent like this. But those are years apart. Personal score: 8/10. It's spectacularly made. The ingredients are of the best quality. But, i don't see myself wearing this a lot, and the price is outrageous.
