Pachuli Kozha

PATCHOULI 'SKIN' as the translation from Turkish denotes. Opens with a prickly, herbal bite of davana and mixed florals that evokes for me hair standing on end. Conveying a touch with a jolt of electricity, davana continues and transitions to the black pepper & earthy, dark & gothic patchouli heart, and patchouli is the real star of the show in this beauty. The skin warms, as patchouli deepens into the drydown taking on additional earthy, woody, incense, honey & leathery tones. Seekers and collectors of patchouli scents will not be disappointed. Contrast to Amber Absolute Tom Ford: These are different, but there are similarities with deep, rich & sweet woody incense. Pachuli Kozha has a more forward patchouli, while Amber Absolute has the more forward amber and in this aspect is more similar to scents like Ambre Sultan Serge Lutens. Both have outstanding performance. Contrast to Noir Patchouli Histoires de Parfums: These are different, and Pachuli Kozha doesn't have the soapy quality present in Noir Patchouli (especially in the opening of NP), but they both have that same rich, dark & gothic patchouli with a bite in the drydown. Noir Patchouli's bite is bigger after the soapiness fades, while Pachuli Kozha is sweeter with a near-honey facet. Contrast to 1740 Histoires de Parfums: These are different, and 1740 again has the same rich, dark & gothic patchouli with a bite in the drydown. 1740 has a bigger bite again and is closer to Noir Patchouli than Pachuli Kozha IMO, although it also doesn't have the soapy aspect of patchouli present in Noir Patchouli HdP. Contrast to L'Eau d'Issey Noir Ambre Issey Miyake: These are different, but there are some similarities with rich, dark & sweet incensed leather. L'Eau d'Issey Nuit Ambre is more leather forward, while Pachuli Kozha is more patchouli forward. Rougly equivalent performance, or slightly better for Pachuli Kozha. Contrast to Bentley for Men Intense: These are different, but there is a similar rich, dark & sweet vibe. Bentley for Men has a more forward rum note, while Pachuli Kozha is spicier with a more forward patchouli. Although both have excellent performance, PK outperforms. Overall: Has an amazingly good scent profile, longevity is great, with moderate projection, however, projection increases after the skin heats it up as it's an oily extrait de parfum. it's a love for me. Winter fragrances are like duvets. There are some duvets which are just too thin: a single layer of synthetic filling, which allows the cold to penetrate and renders them useless as winter protectors. At the opposite extreme, there are luxurious multi-layered creations, plump with the lightest, loftiest and most sought-after quality down. These not only keep out the cold but they provide a total immersion in sensations of luxury and ease. Nishane's Pachuli Kozha is the olfactory equivalent of a 18-tog, 100% white Icelandic eider down duvet: warm, deep, long-lasting and guaranteeing an excellent return on the initial investment in terms of a great sense of wellbeing. After an initial tussle between spicy and fragrant notes, this fragrance enters a stately dry down : the honey burns off and great wafts of patchouli and incense layer the air. I don't get any off-putting animalic or leather notes, just that deeply comforting aftermath of winter warmth, like air in the corridors of the Sultan's palace after he has completed his public audience for the day and retired to the pleasures of the harem. One word of warning: a little goes a long way. I was delighted to hear my partner say this fragrance was a "like," but then heard that, as with the famous duvet, it can envelop a wide area in a short time. I must remember next time to rein in my pursuit of total immersion in the interests of domestic harmony!

I haven't been high on the house of Nishane like I was when I first discovered them six or seven years years ago. They have some great fragrances but I got bored and sold B612 and Ani, and I go nose blind to Hacivat very quickly so I sold that one as well. FYF is is a great release but I never picked up a full bottle; same with Zenne, and I've never bothered any of the X fragrances. The only one I kept and still wear to this day is Sultan Vetiver. A friend sent me a decant of Patchouli Kozha and it's got my blood flowing. I've never been able to try Tom Ford Amber Absolute but if it smells like this, it's a winner. Really great fragrance that I don't think is for beginners. The opening I pick up mugwort and chamomile mixed with the patchouli right away. It's very herbal, medicinal, and slightly camphoric. The herbal opening reminds me a of something I can't recall, but it might be HDP Ambre 114 or maybe even Jubilation. It also reminds me some of Laudauno Nero in the heart. Beyond that it starts getting into animalic honey territory with some nice smoke and an tannic leather. Very interesting, and in true Nishane fashion, extremely potent. Ok I LOVE this!!! I love the opening (unlike many people!), I love the middle, and I love the drydown. I would wear it to work, for a special event (ha, like we have any of those anymore, thanks to Covid!), or just around the house to make me happy. I am not the biggest fan of leather, but this has just the perfect amount. I also get a decent amount of frankincense from it. To me, it smells rich, earthy, and perfectly sweetened. I don't find it harsh at all, and in fact I keep looking around to see who smells so good, since I can smell it in the air around me (and I'm constantly delighted to discover it's ME causing that amazing smell!!!). I only bought a tiny sample vial of this, but I can definitely see a full bottle in my future! If you enjoy sweet and earthy scents, I highly recommend you get your nose on this! I am female, and I find this totally unisex, possibly leaning toward the feminine side (because of the sweetness). I have tried this on a chilly day (about -2C outside, but room temp inside), and I think that might be the perfect temperature range for this--it could be too much on a hot or humid day.

Seems a lot of reviewers havent tried actually the fragrance. Starts with a strong blast of flowers over a patchouli bed, wonderful, very potent opening. Then dries down into a little sweet woody scent with supreme quality ingredients, with some play doh feeling and a light gunpowder note, then settles into a woody incense with some sweetness with spices making a dance all over it. All in All a pretty awesome woody perfume, the patchouli is not as prominent as the name suggests. My signature BTW. loving it from start to end. (about the fecal thing on the beginning, i dont get that, not even close) 2-3 sprays, powerful stuff dont overspray or you will kill people around. sillage: high (basically everywhere you walk, somebody will be able to find you by duration: 16h+ proyection: 2 meters the first 3-4 hours then it gets to an arm lenght

I love this, it's the intersection between original Material (which has been killed by reformulation, vintage Ambre Sultan (which I love but is unwearable for me in most situations) and Absolue Pour Le Soir, but still has its own unique charm. It's chocolaty patchouli, but it's prevented from entering gourmand territory by the flirty florals and a crackling bonfire billowing out woody smoke. It becomes more leathery after an hour or so, a clean, cold leather which accentuates the minty aspect of the patchouli (or maybe vice versa). I can't believe this doesn't get talked about more. Perhaps it's because you really have to love patchouli, but if you do, this is a must-sniff! It's up there with Psychedelique and Horizon for me, these are now my patchholy trinity :)

This one is kind of LOVE and HATE as i feel the struggle between the harsh henna note and the honey sweetish note! kind of hot and cold, harsh and delicate. It is weird to be honest and not bad thou but not the kind that i'd kill for as i sense something harsh that i can sense in reckless by Roja dove but less strong here! i don't know ... honestly i am confused a bit with this one here! Maybe the Ylang Ylang is busting the whole juice in parts makes it confusing to the sniffer! i guess it needs more time to develop and i should give it more time to grow maybe!

Agree with the the people down below. Don't judge it by the opening. It is a very strange perfume that I didn't get the top note list at the opening. I do get a lot of leather, little of patchouli and honey added with spice from peppers in the opening which make this fragrance dark and harsh. Until 30-40 minute the top note such as Ylang-Ylang, Chamomile coming up which will show up the characteristic of patchouli more. This make the fragrance become sweet and smooth in a Goodway. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! Deserves to be call as a Niche perfume.

Actually this is 'Patchouli Leather' from the Bulgarian translation (including the Mockva (Moscow) translation) sorry Suzanne. Anywho, this is spectacular. Initial opening is a strong, green, earthy patchouli with a hint of tobacco (even though its not listed), reminds me slightly of Tom Ford's Tobacco Oud, minus the tobacco bulwark. This quickly transitions into a gorgeous honey, patchouli, leather blend that lasts forever. Very masculine and highly addictive, much like TF Tobacco Oud. Love it. ✌️ Get through the opening and live the drydown!

Sweet honey patchouli jam. This is sweet and dense. Initial spray smells edible like something you’d spread on toast. It’s yummy. 6 sprays - surprisingly not as strong as anticipated. Guess we’ll see how it ages. Wears wonderfully in a 25 degree light breeze ‘cuz it swirls around you, though it may be even better in warmer spring-time temps. Sweetness subsides, but scent is the same from the start until whenever it decides to end sometime tomorrow. Reminds me of Laudano Nero. Not identical, but similar neighborhood.

My 5th Nishane. And what a banger this is. Boozy, smoky woods, patchouli and leather with a nice balanced sweetness from the honey. The pepper adds to the zing. Yeah, the bitter green opening takes a bit of getting used to, but after 20-25 minutes that dry down is luxurious. I’m picking up a familiar dusty, spicy note that’s not listed here, and I can’t place where I’ve smelled it before. Straight 5 star frag. Fantastic. Edit: Cumin? It’s pretty strong up close but not as noticeable at a distance.

Just a word of advice, don’t judge this one from a card or from the top notes, you need to test it on your skin and be patient. Hadn’t worn it in over a year so revisiting today, 1pm I sprayed it and thought yeah it’s nice, it’s now 11pm, I showered at 8pm and as I reach for the remote I catch the most amazing smell on my arm, it’s developed into something truly beautiful and the ridiculous longevity justifies the price as far as I’m concerned

After one wearing all I can say is wow! This is patchouli bliss! After sampling a few patchouli scents I know that I only like patchouli when it's paired with a sweet note such as in Rodkin Gothic II and Molinard Patchouli Intense. Nishane has taken it to another level with the light floral hints and the smokiness. As mentioned before, all day longevity and sillage. Nope I don't own a bottle,this was from a dab on sample vial.

After i sampled this from a LS sample i immediately smelled something very animalic, im assuming the honey?, but after about 30 minutes or so, the animalic quality dies down, and WOW, just a beautiful smell! I get mostly honey, then maybe pachuli.. full bottle on the way! Words to describe this? Elegant, class,bliss, unique. Close to the gourmand side but not fully there thankfully! Not too sweet, just perfect for me!

I definitely like this one. The patchouli is clear in here, however it is subtly wrapped in leather and incense...but the best is yet to come! after a few hours on my skin those notes develop into incense and honey. To put in few words, it feels like two fragances in one: the warm and wild Patchouli-Leather combo quietly evolves into the smooth and sweet Incense-Honey: lovely and definitely worth to try!

An amber leathery fragrance which is all about leather and incense and patchouli. A dark and mysterious scent which is meant for mature souls. Not sure where people are getting the “funk” opening smell from, it just smells heavily of earthy patchouli with a honeyed herbal facet to compliment it. Similar to Ex Idolo’s Ryder or like a darker version of Lush’s Lord of Misrule. Very patchouli forward, pretty sweet, slightly herbal. Big yes for me ☃️

Sweeter and smoother version of Amber Absolute by Tom Ford. This one is more versatile.I was planning to add amber absolute in my collection until I met this boy. I think I will add this one. Performance is amazing above 12 hours, very oily brown liquid. It leaves stains on white shirts so be careful .

Great Please dont judge this scent by the opening.Wear it cold weathers. I always smell honey, leather , soft patchouli and just a little bit smooky (incense). This is for guys ; who want to smell mysterious and dark. Sillage is very good , longevity perfect. Great job from Nishane and Lee.

GOURGEOUS Pachuli Kozha is pretty much natural, because some people discover themselves allergic to some components in it My assumption: it's fair for the majority of Nishane fragrances But it's a precious delight, I strongly recommend it!! <3

In cold weather this one just smells so much nicer than when I first bought it in summer Ridiculous longevity and develops into a really smooth scent, prepare to keep sniffing yourself

Beautiful and unique. Gives a grandpa's basement vibe, where he kept dried leaves and flowers for tea, honey and leather goods, with a bit of a dusty smell.

I’m extremely surprised to see that there is no Labdanum in the notes list. This smells almost exclusively of Labdanum to me. It’s amazing.

This one caught me off guard in a good way! If you would ask me to describe this perfume in one word I'd say: religious.

Among the few last Nishane samples that I had to go through, I re-stumbled across Pachulí Kozha, which seems to be getting little attention from the community. But I think it deserves more. It's a very nice blend and easy-to-like too, but I will say that you shouldn't come expecting patchouli endgame because you won't find it here, despite the name maybe hinting otherwise. For the opening, Pachulí Kozha sets off very medicinal, with a strong resemblance to cough syrup that you might've taken as a kid, forced down your throat by your mom. It smoothly transcends into a honey-sweet and heady chamomile, with a very mild earthy support and similarities to hay or herbs. The mugwort adds this camphoraceous facet to the composition, while also strengthening the herbaceous edge. I don't really get much ylang-ylang or hyacinth; the chamomile seems to overpower them in presence. Then the supposed soul of the party steps in, only it doesn't take the spotlight. The patchouli here is hardly strong, but neither undetectable. It adds its sweet and slightly woody touches to the scent, as well as keeping that medicinal tone alive, but not much else, while on the side I do manage to get very faint black pepper spiciness. Regardless, the chamomile and sweet, medicinal amber still seem to drive the scent, while the patchouli serves more as a passenger that is not to be neglected. As things settle down, the honey sweetness (which is being kept in check, do not worry) and frankincense give the scent a resinous/balsamic undertone, with the faintest whisper of smoke. Also faint is the leather, which offers more of a grounding effect rather than a leather-driven base, giving things a warm touch of its unmistakable aroma while the honey is slowly drizzled on top. It's ultimately a pretty simple fragrance, without much evolution, yet it is still a very nice blend of ingredients that's easy to appreciate, unless you don't vibe with medicinal scents. I haven't yet smelled a more medicinal fragrance than this, although all this praise goes for the short-lived opening which packs most of the punch. I didn't expect much in terms of longevity, maybe around the 6 hours that's on par with most other Nishanes. And yet throughout the whole day, I kept sniffing my wrist, thinking, "It must've gone now for sure", but there it was still. It reached about 14 hours on my skin, which is an excellent showing. But regarding projection, it wasn't as successful. The first two hours it was going pretty strong, alternating between 2-3 feet of projection. But rapidly afterwards, projection would dip in strength significantly, and the scent would reach skin scent status by hour ~5. Nothing that overspraying a little couldn't fix, though, right? Pachulí Kozha isn't really a fragrance that you'd tend to wear often. It doesn't exactly feel like something you'd use on a daily basis or for running errands. More special occasions would be fit, regardless of season, unless it's extreme high heat (but even then it could still work fine). It's also perfectly unisex. I don't think I'll ever commit to a bottle of Pachulí Kozha. Not because I don't like it, but because it's not exactly my style, and I probably wouldn't wear it much because of that, making the capital spent not all that well-spent. But I absolutely think it is worth a try, especially for honeyed chamomile lovers. For hardcore patchouli enthusiasts? Still worth trying, but this is not the best depiction of patchouli that some might hope it is. There's plenty in there to not go unnoticed, but I'm not sure if there's enough to name the fragrance after it. In anyway, an underrated piece from the Turkish house. Presentation: 9/10 Scent: 7.5/10 Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 5.5/10 Versatility: 7/10 Value for Money: 5/10 Overall: 7.3/10

A gorgeous warm confection of a fragrance that never quits your skin, this amazing sillage monster from this wonderful new Turkish house showcases patchouli, leather, incense and honey with some other minor notes such as black pepper, hyacinth, ylang-ylang, artemisia and chamomile. This is a bright, happy, glowing, warm juice. A perfect cozy scent for wintry days. Not particularly original but ummmm just delicious. Perfectly unisex with tremendous sillage, projection and longevity. In Turkish, the name translates to patchouli skin and the fragrance is jus that. It feels as if your skin is radiating the patchouli and incense all over the world. Please use the spray button with caution. A few extra sprays and this can become heavily overpowering. Bold, unafraid personalities will be suited for this big happy 'monster' of a fragrance as one friend puts it. If you are tired of your Manceras and Montales and long for something with that sillage level and more class here is your solution. Enjoy!

I dabbed from a sample bottle to my forearm. The opening is super strong, dark, and funky. First impression was an immediate no way. After the initial potent shock it was clear to me that there is a piece of Tom Ford Black Lacquer in here. Dark, inky, vinyl, funky/animalic, patchouli but without the heavy church incense I love about Black Lacquer. As it dries down the extremes of the opening mellow back to reveal a dry, incense and leather. As it dries down further there is much less of the opening present and a light hint of sweetness to compliment the leather and incense. I'd say this is a sophisticated scent. Deep in the dry down phase it's actually sexy. Probably piss off and annoy a lot of people before it gets there.

First impression: Opens like a remix of Laudano Nero. It is a dark earthy sweet honeyed scent, but veers into green herbal territory with the artemisia which has a parsley-like quality to it. That green leafy garden herb quality mixed with the patchouli makes it smell a bit like a damp herb garden mixed with honey. I like it. I think Laudano Nero is better but there is something enjoyable about finding that herbacious note in there with every sniff, amongst the dark patch, leather and honey. I could grow to quite like this. It performs much worse than Laudano Nero and seems to die on skin quite quickly for an Extrait.

Potentissimo patchouli corposo, pastoso di miele, tabacco, incenso. Giacinto e ylang-ylang ricoperti da una coltre d'incenso, sontuoso e spesso. Forse un profumo più maschile, data la forza preponderante della nota. Comunque molto interessante. Per chi ama fragranze raffinate ma ferme, senza cedimenti o romanticherie dubbiose. Una bellezza sicura di sè. Edit. Con il tempo l'incenso perde austerità, trascolora e acquista una calda nota ambrata. Mi appare il ricordo di Amber Absolute Tom Ford e questo profumo da bello diventa splendido, splendidamente femminile.

Patchouli powerful and smoky due to incense. Leather is very pronounced here,honey scent gives the look a little amber, making it warm and a little sweeter, but continuing to be spicy. I think it's more on the masculine side... Overall a good scent, but I have yet to try out in the cold months! The sillage is enormous, incredible longevity (20 + h). Not bad.. I like it! I’ve had a sample bottle for about a year now. At first it smelled like a farm with horses and cows and a lot of dung. Now it smells like the pinnacle of man! Very particular, very niche, very masculine. Definitely not for under 36/40 year olds in my opinion and certainly not a blind-buy for anyone. I am growing to like this scent more every time I bring out the sample vial, but probably won’t be my first nishane buy...

A dark incense fragrance It was a good scent I didn’t love it but it was alright If you like incense with a little spice it’s the fragrance for you The closest thing I smelled that is really close to it is from house “titiziana tirnzi- ludano Nero” Longevity is eternal projection is normal Not the best of the house but I couldn’t hate it

Pachuli Kozha (Patchouli Leather) opens with noticeable chamomile along with a green/herby accord which I assume is the mugwort. Didn't get any florals. As it dried down, a musty, blended woody accord appeared. The scent didn't strike me as a strong patchouli but more of a blended combo of patchouli, leather, incense and honey. When I smelled it, it immediately recalled a specific incident from a couple of years ago. At that time, I volunteered along with a friend to help a church remove their old pipe organ which needed repair. I think it was about 70 years old. Anyway, the wooden boxed airways on which the pipes stood and the pipes which were made of wood all smelled like Pachuli Kozha. Weird, eh? It's not an unpleasant scent - sorta like musty dusty varnished wood, but not something I want to smell like. Masculine fragrance. Performance is a beast with very good longevity and projection, but not for me.

#1440 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. I do a "try-before-you-buy" with all $100+ scents. This is a high quality, long-lasting, strongly projecting scent, like many Nishane scents. I'm not a big fan of Ylang Ylang, Lichi, and similar notes in my scents, so this won't be a bottle buy for me. But it's certainly a potent, spicy, incense-focused, all-day fragrance, which would otherwise put it on my list. I reminds me most of Paris Corner's "Qissa Blue", which I blind bought recently and ended up giving away, again because Ylang Ylang is just not my jam. But it is very similar notewise to this Nishane scent, though not in performance. However, Qissa Blue is $16, not $160, so you might accept reapplying midday to save the big bucks. By all rights, I should love this fragrance due to its dark and heavy leather and pepper notes. However, this one is going to take some getting used to. I do not dislike it - I just don’t like it. As the name suggests the patchouli is prominent. It will do well in autum and winter but patrons may wish to layer it with some of the more spicy fragrances. I am not sure I’ll buy this again but time will tell. Update: it’s been 6 hours since I put it on. The drydown is pure leather. Takes some getting used to. It does not last long on my skin though. Lasts longer on clothing. Rating: 6.5/10 UPDATE - It has grown on me, particularly due to its leather, smoky, earthy and woody notes. I am revising the rating to 7/10

Thought I was going to be a fan of this but it turns out I’m not.. don’t get me wrong, a scent has to be absolutely horrible for me not to like it. Not saying that it’s horrible by any means but it’s like I picked up a chamomile tea bag and then proceeded to pour honey on it with mild incense dancing around in the background. It’s okay I guess but not fb worthy for me, it’s just not my cup of tea (pun intended)

I had a 2ml decant which I tried out today. Starts off with strong earthy Patchouli. Then the spices start to kick in after 15/20 mins. Longevity is 10 hours on my skin & projection/sillage is average. Performance is ok, however, I did not like the scent itself. I am not looking forward to buy a full bottle of this.

Strange perfume. Unwearable if you ask me; I wouldn't dare to put this on at a place where other people could smell me. That being said, I have to admit that it is interesting and particular. Dusty chamomile and some animalic sweetness I get. I have never smelled anything close to that. 6/10

Difficult to wear, Pachuli Kozha has an ugly, messy opening with a strong fecal note. I almost washed it off. Pachuli Kozha smooths out in the drydown with a stronger, sweet patchouli dominant note. But by the time I got there, I don’t think it was worth it.
