Sultan Vetiver

I was never a big fan of vetiver throughout my fragrance journey. I could appreciate it from the distance, but I stayed away from vetiver-centric compositions as I often got lightheaded from them. But that's because I was smelling the wrong vetiver fumes. With little help from Guerlain's Vetiver Eau de Toilette too, Nishane's masterpiece here completely changed the way I view the note. And there's arguably no other fragrance that could've done that but the sultan of vetiver itself. Before the vetiver pushes through with all its raw beauty, the fragrance opens with very strong spicy-green blast of herbs. The Absinthe is responsible for this, where I'm getting anise, fennel, and even some licorice lending some mild sweetness under this complex bitter botanical opening. The Peruvian pepper contributes with the spiciness and aromatic edge, and I even manage to spot a squeeze of citric bergamot for two-three minutes. Be aware that if you're not particularly accustomed to such intense green herbaceous openings, you might not sit well with this one. Then, what we've all come for begins to show itself in all its glory: vetiver. But it's not just vetiver; there's four different vetiver notes in here: Java, Bourbon, Haitian, and Brazilian. They all share largely the same accords, so it's not like you can tell them apart when mixed together. But each of them brings the best they have to create the ultimate vetiver scent. Java vetiver has a more rugged smell, more smoky and roasted, and intensely earthy. The Bourbon variant seems smoother and more refined, yet still covering the earthy, rooty and woody facets of every vetiver variation. I also get a more damp earthiness, reminding me of oakmoss quite a lot. The Haitian vetiver keeps things from going overboard by adding a cleaner and brighter tone, with less emphasis on pure earthiness and more on dry woodiness and green, grassy edges, as well as mild florals, pairing nicely with the neroli here for a touch of white floral sweetness. Speaking of sweetness, the tonka bean does a great job here at appending a nutty undertone with faint sweet aspects; not really vanillic. And last but not least, we have the Brazilian vetiver, which is more vibrant with somewhat fresher earthiness. Absolutely stunning. Along the way in the dry down, some warm but gentle traces of leather can also be sensed, although your olfactive receptors will probably still be too busy processing the complexity of the various vetiver facets. It really is an absolute beauty, blended masterfully and projecting quality through and through. A must-try for any vetiver lover. Unfortunately for me, I do not get much performance out of Sultan Vetiver. My skin simply loves punishing me by making many fragrances that I love perform poorly on me. I probably deserve it. Regardless, I get about 8 hours of longevity with rather mid projection. The first hour it pushes pretty comfortably at around1.5-2 feet, after which it settles for a much closer bubble around me, still getting whiffs of it even after 4-5 hours, but no one else will unless they sit uncomfortably close to me. So I'm free to overspray, but most others seem to be getting significantly better pushing power, so unless you're cursed like me, there's no need to go overboard with the sprays... but you should still do it. It's no surprise that vetiver can be quite a challenging scent at times, especially for newcomers into the hobby. And given the sheer volume of vetiver notes and distinct facets that you get here, this should be one of the most difficult vetiver scents, even for me. But it isn't. And not only that it isn't, I'd actually rock this on a daily basis as my signature scent without an issue. There's nothing challenging to my nose about it, which is weird given my early experiences with vetiver. So versatility will really depend on that, as this can do as a daily scent for spring or autumn just fine for some, or as a more special occasion pick only for those times you want that unapologetic vetiver complexity. There's no two ways about it: Sultan Vetiver is one of the finest vetiver fragrances on the market, and there's no escaping it if you fancy vetiver. You'll eventually stumble across it, and maybe you'll find it too rough and powerful for your tastes. In that case, the Sultan will banish you back to your friendly, slightly grassy vetiver servants. Or maybe you'll fall in its trap, getting lost through all the notes and accords of vetiver, loving every bit there is and not getting enough of it. In that case, you'll pledge allegiance to the Sultan, and you'll be welcomed into a never-ending journey of searching for a contestant who dares to challenge the Sultan and dethrone him; a never-ending journey because there might be no such contestant, as no other vetiver fragrance comes close to Sultan Vetiver. Nishane Sultan Vetiver opens with a moderate projection of intense anis and vetiver. In just a moment, the pepper joins the blend with a prominent spicy note. The notes are crisp, clear, and bright, the opening is very impressive. The bergamot and the neroli create a soft citrus accord whereas both vetivers, Bourbon and Haitian increase even more the vetiver accord of the opening. The resulting vetiver note feels dry, very aromatic, and well blended but not as strong as the anise. As the fragrance commences to dry-down, a soft leather note joins to boost the existing accords rather than to add itself. The tonka bean is also just a soft aromatic touch. The amber enters the blend creating a faint powdery but projecting touch. The most significant change from the opening to the dry down is the fading of the java vetiver oil note, which initially has a soft oily touch, and towards the dry-down is overpowered by different types of dry vetivers that come up with a soft powdery touch. Once Nishane Sultan Vetiver has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a bold, moderate projection, intense anise fragrance with vetiver and pepper spicy accords. The fragrance feels bold, dry, earthy, exotic, high-quality, masculine, mature, modern, piquant, slightly powdery, sharp, very spicy (high anise, moderate pepper), strong, unique, warm, wild, and pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020. WOW RATING: 9/10. The intense and pure combination of anis and vetiver is are impressive. DISLIKE RATING: 5/10. The anis is a strong note, also the vetiver is traditionally associated with mature men's fragrances. It is highly likely that people will find this fragrance overly offensive. UNIQUENESS: 10/10. The combination of anis and vetiver is unique, this is fragrance is easy to recognize. MASS APPEAL: 3/10. The anis and vetiver are not mass-appeal notes. PROJECTION: 4/10. Good, about 4 feet around the wearer. SILLAGE: 5/10. Very good, about 5 feet behind the wearer. APPLICATION: Two to four atomizations. LONGEVITY: 4/10. About four hours with moderate consistent projection. SEASONS: Winter, spring, and fall. Spicy fragrances are ideal for mild to cold weather. OCCASIONS: Formal events, outdoor gatherings, office, business, holidays, casual, clubbing. In moderation, this is an office-friendly fragrance. VERSATILITY: 7/10. The anis and vetiver create a relatively versatile fragrance. GENDER: Masculine. The vetiver is a masculine note, the strong anise and pepper feel masculine. AGES: 30 and above. Vetiver and spicy fragrances are better suited for mature males. RECOMMENDATION: Nishane Sultan Vetiver is a highly unique fragrance, a wonderful combination of accords that create a very different and great scent. However, this is not a mainstream fragrance, it feels more like a fragrance for connoisseurs; enjoying the strong anise accord requires an acquired taste. If cost is not a problem and you enjoy the anise note, this is a jewel. BLIND-BUY: No, sample it first. SIMILAR: Montale Red Vetiver and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver are in the same genre. Montale Red Vetiver has a stronger cedar accord whereas Tom Ford Grey Vetiver has a stronger citrus/musky accord; Cartier Declaration Essence features vetiver and softly floral, citrus, and green accords. SUMMARY: A bold, moderate projection, intense anise fragrance with vetiver and pepper spicy accords. The fragrance feels bold, dry, earthy, exotic, high-quality, masculine, mature, modern, piquant, slightly powdery, sharp, very spicy (high anise, moderate pepper), strong, unique, warm, wild, and pleasant.

I just got a little decant of this to test along with a few other niche frags I've had my eye on. Out of anything I've ever worn or even smelled off a tester strip, Sultan Vetiver is by far the hardest to decide if I like. Actually, it's not even whether I like it it or not: I either love it or there's just something in it that is both beautiful and too difficult/dirty to pull off. It's also the most photorealistic scent I've ever smelled. Something about it instantly takes my mind to a scene I don't recall ever seeing, but it has so much detail, I feel like I can touch it when I close my eyes while smelling this fragrance off a tester. I know that sounds nuts and I've always rolled my eyes when I read similar comments from others about fragrances (sorry, but some descriptions are just over the top!), but I'm about to do the same because I've never had any fragrance experience like it. The smell takes me to a warm jungle either in the south Pacific or somewhere in southern Asia. I'm standing on a dirt road, really muddy and messy, that goes through open farmland, but surrounded by small green mountains with bigger ones rising up behind them. There are oxen or some sort of bovine animal nearby and I think that's where the funk that's noticeable comes from... But even that smells beautiful and natural and somehow part of the whole experience. There's a smell of hay everywhere and the pepper in the opening is incredible and invigorating... Now I'm rolling my eyes at my own damn review... I don't know how to explain it: this juice literally takes me to some memory in a past life or something. I don't know if I like that or not, but I don't think people around me will feel the same nostalgia I feel if I wear it to the office or just out and about. They'll probably just think I smell like I work on a farm. I'm really confused by this one. Update: 5/26/24 Ok, I bought it. It's best in the heat. It's just something you can't help but be fascinated by and slowly conditioned to love. If anyone spends enough time, even if you hate it at first, if you have a sample, you'll start to want to remember what it smells like now and then. Then, maybe a month later you reach for something else and quickly look over the collection while feeling really bored with it all and you'll say, "you know what? Fuck it, I'm wearing sultan vetiver! Who fucking cares what people around me think!". And while you wear it, it sinks it's hooks into you and you quickly burn down the remaining sample while starting to panic a bit that you don't have the full bottle... And then you let everyone on fragrantica know that it's ok not to give up on this one. I didn't know what to make of it at first and there isn't a moment I wear it when I forget that I'm wearing it - it just has a presence you can't forget. So if you tried it once or twice and you hate it, you might as well buy the full bottle if it's on sale, because if you let it into your house, it's playing the long game and it'll get you eventually.

When venturing into Nishane fragrances Sultan Vetiver piqued my interest right away. I read and watched multiple reviews and I kept coming across phrases along the lines of "If you're a vetiver lover this is for you". Many considering Sultan Vetiver' to be among the greats. Some hailing it superior to all vetiver fragrances. Including the beloved, benchmark vetiver by Guerlain. Then there was the other side where the expressions of opinion are equally as strong. Using adjectives like horrible, awful, nasty, rotten and the likes to describe the fragrance. Leaving me with the warning that this may stink beyond belief and I probably should stay far away. And the full assurance of fellow vetiver lovers that this would be a safe blind buy. After seriously weighing both sides I decided I would try this revered & reviled vetiver. And at the price I found it for, it definitely was a safe blind buy. In my review of Guerlain Vetiver, I wrote about my vetiver tour where I sought to familiarize myself with this particular note by sampling various vetiver fragrances. I came away from this with references and a hightened ability to trace the smallest amounts of it. I became a bonified lover of this note. Sultan Vetiver takes me on that tour and then some, all in one fragrance. This is vetiver beginning, 1st middle, 2nd middle and end. It's note breakdown is fairly simple but there is an interesting complexity offered between the four types of vetiver. Between the four, the earthy, dirty, rooty, damp, smoky, clean, dry, airy, fresh, soapy, green, nutty, bitter, sweet, creamy, spicy, boozy, woody and leathery facets of vetiver all come forth at various points. Sultan Vetiver seems to dance on the skin and rides the waves of the four vetiver types dirt, texture, complexity and elegance. As to put on displaying all the beauties of vetiver in a masterfully way. I saw someone here and on YouTube mention what I'm about to say. I won't lie, in the first 30 mins or so of the fragrance I do smell slight similarities between this and Polo Green (another polarizing fragrance I love). Since smelling SV I've been able to smell the vetiver in Polo Green more clearly. Comparatively SV has significantly less notes than PG. The two only sharing 5 notes (vetiver being one). There is to my nose some combination of notes in SV indirectly mimicking the green piney effect of PG though to a much lesser degree. But it is there. And I love it. Despite this, Sultan Vetiver is it's own thing entirely and is overall more modern and obviously more..vertiver-y. I absolutely love this fragrance. It smells amazing. The quality and composition are top tier. It grabs attention in the air too. So far, I've gotten nothing but positive feedback and compliments from the first day I've worn it. I love my Guerlain and I don't doubt that the vintage version is far better than what I have. But at this moment Sultan Vetiver is hands down the best vetiver in my wardrobe and has a happy permanent home here:)

Starting in the name of Allah, to whom all praise belongs. Some fragrances impress, some stay memorable but very few define your entire journey. For me, this is that scent. “This is, by far, the best scent I have ever smelled.” Considering the thousands of fragrances across the globe that I have tried, sampled, or owned over the years, this stands as a clear and undisputed winner for me. If I were ever forced to own just one fragrance, an impossible scenario, but still, this would be it. If only one perfume could survive the harshest regulations and restrictions, this would be it. If there is one fragrance I wish to never see discontinued or reformulated, this would be it. And perhaps the only scent for which I would break my personal rule of “not owning more than I need,” I could easily justify having a hundred backup bottles of this. This is also the one fragrance I would use to explain to a newcomer the true epitome of perfumery. There are many reasons behind this admiration let me share a few: Scent Profile: A truly complex composition that unfolds layer by layer, revealing natural-smelling accords in a seamless progression. There is a remarkable transformation a full 360° shift from the top to the heart, and from the heart to the base. Each facet of vetiver, from different origins, feels present and distinguishable. The composition is beautifully balanced with subtle florals and leathery nuances, which tame the inherent sharpness of vetiver. The experience evolves through the day: The first half carries a clean, refined vetiver profile, reminiscent of classic interpretations like Guerlain Vetiver. The latter half unveils the darker, earthier, more “dirty” side of vetiver in its full character. Uniqueness: Rarely does one encounter a fragrance that seamlessly integrates sweetness, spice, dryness, and depth, allowing each facet to shine independently without overshadowing the other. Every phase feels intentional and complete. Versatility: To call something the “most complete scent” demands versatility and this delivers. It fits effortlessly into formal settings, social gatherings, personal wear, or statement moments. It adapts without losing its identity. Performance: A full-day performer even in Karachi’s demanding weather. Strong presence for the first 5–6 hours, followed by a graceful dry-down with excellent longevity and noticeable projection.

This one is rich and long lasting, and it reminds me of the way some Bortnikoff fragrances are built. Very solid woody base with a narcotic/spicy heart. (Unlike most Bortnikoff fragrances though, Sultan doesn't contain Oud). I feel like there's sandalwood at the base even though it's not listed. How does it smell? Some are comparing this to the original Guerlain Vetiver, EDT, and I get that; HOWEVER, this only seems apparent at the far dry down. What I initially get is a nice bergamot/clear citrus top and a green note. It has a sparkle and fizzle to the top, very mild and pleasant aldehydes to support the citrus. The opening ever so slightly reminded me of a classic style frag. It immediately transitions into a kind of honey note (the anisyl alcohol and other anise compounds are quite apparent, giving it a honeyed-narcotic feel without going too narcotic floral). This doesn't remind me of the datedness of Polo Green or the green Paco Rabanne offering. Anise is the heart of the fragrance, and it buries the vetiver for quite some time, but it also has Schiff's base (neroli there, but not super prominent). It doesn't smell harsh licoricey either, After watching some reviews, I was led to believe it's super smoky, I was thinking something like Encre Noire Extreme or something, BUT it's nothing like that. It isn't harsh, woody/smoky like Hacivat X, for example. It's cool spicy/anisic/honied, and it almost seems like they're going for a heliotropin accord, but again, it's not really floral. It's not a projection monster, and it's not as harsh as was expected by listening to some reviewers. Still, it's not going to be mass appealing. DO NOT BLIND BUY. It's for a seasoned nose. The far dry down is where people will enjoy it the most, as far as mass appeal goes. At that point, it's a slightly creamier vetiver (and slightly smoky). I also reminds me of the Guerlain Vetiver Parfum dry down. The problem is that you have to wait quite a while before the mid and top notes fade before you can smell the vetiver. Craftsmanship is excellent, but likely not a work fragrance, more for the evening. This is my first review after only one wearing, will update later as I get more time with this fragrance. Wearing Sultan Vetiver is like wearing a two-hundred year-old castle in the early Fall season English Middle Ages. It is warm with hay, fur, and natural candles burning over pounds of leftover wax from generations of previous candles, next to spice barrels imported from somewhere far away, while the smell of moisture-laden moss on the outside stone walls drifts in. The (synthetic?) Neroli, which has a honeyed part in its character, is well-blended with (and amplified by) the amber and vetiver. For me, this gives the overall impression of a delicious and potent beeswax. Surprised that nobody has mentioned that across many of the reviews immediately below, but a couple do mention honey impressions. #subjectivity Leather or other notes are barely apparent to my nose. Out of several vetiver-based fragrances I tested recently (Amouroud Lunar Vetiver, Le Labo Vetiver 46, Montblanc Vetiver Glacier, Perris Monte Carlo Vetiver Java), by comparison, Sultan Vetiver has a significantly lower actual vetiver scent -- or at least much less nuttiness. Therefore is surprised me to see Sultan Vetiver's declared high count of vetivers, and reviews below calling this a "vetiver bomb" (for example). To my nose, this fragrance dominates with the floral notes and the amber. It should have been named differently, rather than focusing on the (legitimately cleverly integrated) multi-layer vetivers. A couple of hours in, a menthol / camphor synthetic that was likely added for fragrance "lift" stands out a bit more than the otherwise balanced presentation across time. It is slightly questionable, but not nearly as much as all Mancera brand (for example) fragrances like Instant Crush or Holidays. But after an additional hour, the menthol withers down to mix well again with the rest of the notes. Girlfriend said it smelled "dated" -- which might be the Neroli. Her comment likely came from the same place as the mentions of "vintage" or "old carpet" in reviews below. Such references did broaden my perspective regarding how this could be interpreted as an old lady 1970s perfume (overly full-bodied flower). But to my nose, it is boss-ass masculine and refined. I am prepared to piss people off via its potency.

Yeah, Ive been really wanting a scent that showcases the note of Vetiver. I have the 3 Encre noires and I ADORE all 3, but I want a something dryer, sharper and more "classic" smelling. According to reviews, Ive landed on either Guerlain's Vetiver Parfume or Nishane's Sultan Vetiver. I (thankfully) purchased a sample of Nishane's Sultan vetiver and I now see why folks are so divided on this dna. Now, just for referance, I've seen a ton of reviews on other types of fragrances where people claim they're too challenging, medicinal, "rubber tire like", and I laugh to myself and think "What wusses", some of those fragrances are absolute masterpieces that can sometimes be a bit much in the opening, but soon change into something gorgeous. And it sorta erks me how folks dont give fragrances a chance bc they just go by the opening and make up their minds. But this? This is a different story! Now, I do believe that my pallette may just not be ready for this type of "niche parfumery as I'veonly just started seriouslycollecting about 2 years ago, so this may just be a "Masterpiece " fragrance which I'mNOT ready for, but on my skin, it just smells so unpleasant! It smells like straight up medicated, herbal muscle rub of some sort. I dont mean an icey-hot type of scent, I mean pungent, herbal , camphorous and unpleasant. Whats wierd is that on tester strop, it smells great, but on my skin if where it just smells "wierd " honestly like some sort of medicine, NOT just "medicinal ", but straight up homemade, boiled down herbal remedy medicine. Now when this reaches the far dry-down hours and hours later it smells so fresh, pleasant and just fantastic. Its just that it takes way too long for me to be able to enjoy it, and at that point, it doesnt project as much as id like it too. Maybe someday I'll learn to appreciate this scent, but for now, it a hard pass. Super unique tho, performance is beyond beastmode. Just try before ya buy! Again, I'm probably just not ready for this and some other folks should recognize that in themselves as well, and NOT put down a fragrance and other people's taste just bc they dont like it! For a change, lets start today with Recommendation. If you are vetiver lover, buy it. This review is for those people who must be wondering as to why Sultan Vetiver by Nishane is considered as an ultimate vetiver fragrance. This fragrance is supposed to contain FOUR (Yes, you read it right) different types of vetiver. It may sound exaggerated to some but when i read properties of each of those types, i began to realize that it just might be true. It is a very complex structured fragrance showing different aspects, behaving more like a puzzle box. It opens up very brightly with mint on top which soon recedes to make space for earthy and wet nuances. Scent at this stage feels like what you feel right after the rain (ETERNAL BLISS!!) and of a fresh clay pot. As fragrance dries down, you get a scent of burning wood which is not very pleasant at all but it actually is a prominent characteristic of a Haitian Vetiver. This burning wood scent comes and goes which is strange and equally beautiful. In between these, scent turns slightly boozy and grapefruity sweet indicating towards usage of Bourbon and Java Vetiver. Towards the end, i felt that burning scent gets more constant with green earthy backbone intact and this is how it eventually ends. By the way, in case you are wondering, Brazilian Vetiver is the fourth type. Performance is as good as any Nishane fragrance lasting for about 10-12 hours on skin and even more on clothes with above average projection. This does not feel overwhelming or heavy at any stage so even if you are in habit of over spraying then you are still good to go. In my opinion, this fragrance would do wonders for you in summer specially in high heat but if you work in a closed office environment then it will work well irrespective of season. So again, Recommendation? Sultan Vetiver by Nishane in my opinion is the ultimate vetiver fragrance and is rightly hyped in fragcom all over the world. It does not feel synthetic at any stage and ticks all the right boxes of a niche fragrance. So yes, i would highly recommend everyone, irrespective of their love for vetiver, to try this and save up because you will surely want a bottle for yourself.

Alright, I’ve tried a lot of vetivers. Some fresh, some smoky, some grassy, some that smell like they were bottled straight from a swamp (not in a good way). But this one? This one is the vetiver. No contest. It kicks off with a crisp, citrusy pop of bergamot, slightly bitter but never screechy. There’s a touch of absinthe in there too, adding this green-herbal sharpness, like it’s warning you that this isn’t your standard, friendly vetiver. Then, boom—vetiver city. And not just one kind. You get the smooth, woody side, the smoky side, and that deep, earthy rootiness that makes you feel like you’re smelling the very soul of the note. The layering is insane. There’s also some pepper and neroli hanging around, keeping things interesting without stealing the show. But the real magic is in the drydown. The tonka and leather come in, grounding everything with just enough warmth and depth to make it feel luxurious, never just another green-and-done vetiver. It stays dry, rich, and slightly smoky, but without veering into harshness or sweetness. And let’s talk performance—this thing sticks. Not an aggressive, in-your-face beast, but a steady, confident one. It lasts all day, projects just right, and actually gets better as it wears. The opening is bright and sharp, but the deeper it settles, the more addictive it becomes. If you love vetiver, this is a holy grail. If you don’t, it might convert you. It’s not a generic crowd-pleaser, but people who get this kind of scent will recognize it immediately. And while a lot of vetivers feel locked into a specific season, this one just works year-round—the brightness shines in heat, the depth thrives in cold. Honestly, if vetiver had a king, this would be wearing the crown.

***This is my 1st (1 of 2) review of this frag. Please see my review #2. This is now my 2nd favorite scent of all time*** I thought I was really going to love this after all these reviews below. I adore vetiver scents, my absolute favorites. I recently ordered a sample and decided to spray it on when it arrived in the mail. I can only assume if you're reading this - your nose is maturing, your taste for masculine frags is growing, and you're ready for the next vetiver step up. Edit #3* Gave this another try, actually really like it for the right occasion. If you like Encre Niore, which by the way is EASY to wear vs this, is my (my #2 favorite to date), Chanel Sycomore (#1 by FAR), Hermes Intense Vetiver (easiest vetiver to wear, wear most often, even more so than OG Terre), or any other popular vetiver scents, this one is way way left field. Its not barbershop. Its not earthy. Meaning, you cant group them together. This is some strong different level shit. EDIT #1 - I sprayed this again today. I let me girlfriend smell it. I asked: "What does this remind you of? its a place right!? What is it!? I cant think of it...." She replied: "The smell of a "smokers" hotel room.... A/C blasting at 50 degrees, when you first open the door to enter your hotel room on vacation where smoking is still allowed." THATS EXACTLY WHAT THIS SMELLS LIKE. INTENSELY WEIRD (Notice the review directly below mine) EDIT #2 - I sprayed 1 spray in the little sample box it came in (frag liquid is dark pee yellow - strong) ... 0-30min =🤢 30min-01hr =😵💫 01hr-2hr =🥴 2-3hr =😬 4-6hr =🤔 6-12hr = 😯 12+hr = 🤤 Next day - amazing! FULL dry down is delightful. Feminine men need not apply.

I dedicate my second review for the Sultan Vetiver after my beloved Fat Electritian, it can project even more than the previous one. I love both of them. They are adictive in different ways. Both are Vetiver based, but one EdP and SV is extract of Parfum which declare its noticeable presence all the time, one of the greatest quality. The anis and Vetiver mix is so great, I would say I like more when it passes for the first Java vetiver stage, for me it is too smoky for the first times I tried, but now I have gotten used to it. The Bourbon and Haitian vetiver stage is wonderful, earthy but well balanced with tonka and neroli which give a wonderful twist, that my favorite part of the development and it lasts sooooo long. Highly recommend but not in its original price (or yes I don't know), I will try to buy more bottle with discount. I connect with these two vetiver perfumes most in my collection. Fat Electritian make me feel closed to people, but this one make me stand out in the crowd even in work place I can safely wear it. It doesn't bother like other pundgent perfumes. I have to address the drydown stage which is wonderful. A little kind of skin scent but continue projecting but shyly. The only vetiver remains in this stage is not earthy nor smoky, I think it is grassy or a little bit woody with wonderful aromatic scents (don't know what they are, floral or the lefting bergamot? Don't know. By the way, in the opening it gives a smoky vetiver aspect which normally I don't appreciate, but I think the perfumer he just blend it with anise and other which make it tolerable for some, and even to love it. Wonderful, what a journey I experienced.

Wow! This is a sophisticated force to be reckoned with. I sampled this amid my quest for a bold, spicy, smoky and assertive vetiver that outperforms Jovoy's Incident Diplomatique — this in no way reminds me of ID. I was caught off-guard at first whiff because this smelled vastly different than what I anticipated. It also does not resemble other fragrances I've come across — yet somehow it feels "modern" and "classic" at the same time. With Sultan Vetiver I detect a domineering spicy, lightly-smoked, leathery, peppery, anise and honeyed floral lemon ensemble sitting atop a bed of dusty hay. All the notes blend into a single magnificent and cohesive accord devoid of sharp edges. Neroli-forward fragrances always gives me an immediate headache, but not here. I'm really pleased with how smooth the neroli is and how well it amplifies the other notes. Another reviewer mentioned this, but initially I was reminded of a clean/fresh urinal cake (in a good way). We're talking about a "high-price boutique" urinal cake (if that's such a thing) that one might detect at a luxury hotel. Just to clarify, this in no way smells like urine or a dirty bathroom. This is one of those rare fragrances at the perfect intersection of high quality oils, excellent composition, excellent note choice, excellent performance and excellent price. This is not a safe blind buy, but is definitely FBW. I could easily see myself wearing this day or night during any season of the year. Additional Context: Late 30's male. I purchased a small 2 or 3 oz sample of Sultan Vetiver for $13 (I was super curious). At first I didnt really know what to think of it (still have trouble really wrapping my head around it), it's definately got a middle eastern flare to it, almost medicinal, but not an Oud fragrance. Initially Id found it a bit off-putting, but the more I spray some on my hand, and once or twice on my neck, Im really starting to understand what Nishane was really going for here. Sultan Vetiver is Uber Opulent, Majestic and quite "Sultan like", yet its not as "situational" as one might think. I love how EnsureESydney below me described this fragrance as "MORE, with less (real art)" as I believe that perfumer Jorge Lee created Sultan Vetiver as a love letter to Vetiver it's self, celebrating the complexities of, and the different styles of Vetiver, while only adding other notes which truñey only serve to "amplify" or to heighten our experience with the note of Vetiver. And I just love how this frag takes me for a ride as it changes and morphs through the opening to the far dry down and then some! Ive also done a complete 180, and plan on REALLY WEARING my lil' ol 3 oz decant for the rest of the week to make sure than (I am ready) for Sultan Vetiver before I invest in a full bottle. Also, a little goes a LOOONG way, so Im sure I can stretch that sample out for the entire week. But yeah, this is quickly becoming a LOVE whereas it was once a "head-scratcher" to me, lol. This is a love and hate story, if there ever was one. I wonder... Has this fragrance by any chance been reformulated? The first time I had the opportunity to experience it, it felt cold and dry, and I was very much drawn to it. The paper, on which I sprayed it, was lying on the table and the entire room was felt with this elegant, very dry vetiver smell. But then, it took me some time before I decided to buy it. Once I purchased the fragrance, I noticed that it becomes sweeter and sweeter with time, up to the point when it becomes very unpleasant, reminiscent of boiled honey (boiled honey can be really nauseating, if you have never experienced it). At first, I was surprised by people mentioning honey or animalic notes in their impressions of the fragrance, but now I know what they mean. This also seems to be highly dependent on the ambient temperature – it sometimes takes a long time and sometimes just a couple of minutes before the disturbing sweetness starts to develop. But it then disappears (after what seems like an eternity) and gives way to another round of vetiver delight, that seems to linger forever. A love and hate story, if there ever was one. It starts in heaven, takes a short stop and hell, only to arrive back in heaven after a couple of hours. My wish would be for Nishane to release a dryer version of that one, that would truly become my number one, forever.

I’m not even sure if there are other notes in the opening, because all I encounter is vetiver—raw and unfiltered. No bergamot, no sweetness. It feels like I’ve fallen into a green ocean... and even drowning feels peaceful. I struggle to break the scent into layers, because this perfume doesn’t seem designed to be deconstructed; it flows as one, seeping inward. Nishane didn’t just use vetiver as a main note here—they built the entire structure with it: the foundation, the walls, the roof, even the floors are made of vetiver. But it's never one-dimensional. Sometimes it's earthy, sometimes breezy, sometimes like the dryness of summer, sometimes mossy. In this perfume, vetiver doesn’t just smell—it moves like thought. When I compare it to Guerlain L’Homme L’Eau Boisée, the difference is stark. In the Guerlain, vetiver is just a supporting wheel—it doesn’t carry the message. It’s so “everyday” that it loses its distinctiveness. Aside from a nostalgic trace of spice, it doesn’t leave much behind. Sultan Vetiver, on the other hand, is deep, multilayered, and each layer feels translucent. Like something that reveals its soul over time. Sultan Vetiver isn’t defined by classification, but by experience. It’s not minimal. It’s not flashy. But it’s proudly green. Three words: Deep – Translucent – Green

What a great Vetiver fragrance, although I can see why it is so polarizing with many people. The opening indeed is very harsh - dry Dirty Earthy (think Soil), very pungent, dark, and dangerously close to being "old man smell". If you're turned off by the inkiness of the original/extreme Encre Noir - steer clear, Sultan Vetiver is the real royalty here. However give it 30 mins to settle, and Sultan Vetiver turns into rich, deep and sophisticated Vetiver scent with some hints of Woods and Leather. It is very layered and complex, certainly not a linear fragrance. As is the case with niche perfumes. The unique quality of Sultan Vetiver for me is that it only gets better with time - when most perfumes quickly lose top notes, and settle to middle and base notes, Sultan Vetiver evolves and shows it's real colours the longer it stays on skin. Multiple Vetivers take turns, and I can swear I pick out some Citrusy notes similar to TF Grey Vetiver later on - and this is hours after application. Performance is also good - moderately projects for a couple of hours, and lingers like an aura for the remainder of the day. Keep in mind the opening is very strong for about 30 minutes. Excellent scent for Vetiver lovers. Don't judge it by the opening only - let it win you over with time, like it won me.

I love vetiver so had to try Nishane. Ive seen it as a favorite alongside Guerlain's masterpiece. The opening you get the nutty smoky java vetiver with the bergamot and a definite bite of the pepper. The drydown the nuttiness fades and that rich earthy bourbon vetiver found in Guerlain, that unique smell that for me defines Vetiver comes out. You can smell the green sharpness of the haitian vetiver oi. Bourbon and haitian is such a beautiful combo. The neroli is subtle and to me, it always captures the orange citrus instead of sweet. I do not smell the tonka nor leather. Its a very linear Vetiver+ scent. Sultan Vetiver does not go into the smooth soapy territory as Guerlain does so elegantly. Completely different scent pathway and honestly, just as nice. Like going up the same mountain where both have the same foilage and grass but one has a citrus grove and the other fougere greens, both bringing you to same destination. I would say its as good as Guerlain but its different take. Guerlain evolves into a wonderful smooth soapy green accord, where Sultan Vetiver is the more citrus nutty with a hint of green. Sultan Vetiver is super versatile, all seasons. I may try a vetiver bomb and layer both at home before trying outside.

I bought it because I loved the package and especially the intricate rim drawing on it while lots of Turkish folks dressed in traditional garments :] I was curious about the brand and fell in love with the careful packaging first to be honest. I tested some on my fave shop and was mesmerized by some of them: FYF, Hacivat, Sultan. I went to the shop to try sultan since the bad reviews everywhere made me curious. What a surprise! It’s unique. Actually all their fragrances are unique. thanks god! European fragrance houses became as boring af... I don’t buy designer “perfumes” like for the past two decades no more. Only niche and Nishane is currently my fave brand. I enjoy the freshness and “forest like” flair of sultan a lot. It reminds me of the perfume of the soil after it rained. I think there is even a name for it :) can’t recall. It’s green and sharp at the opening. But suddenly I can smell this veiled sweetness that never reveals itself completely. And seldom on drydown, it depends on my mood and weather. The fragrance changes on my skin and that’s amazing. It’s strong and not for everyone. Women wearing it must have their sheet in place LOL it’s a statement.

Nose Note #898 Vetiver forward scents are not my cup of tea, but I really appreciate this one. This is the strongest vetiver scent I've had. More than "long-lasting" and projection is very good, but not crazy. If you only know Encre Noire and Terre d'Hermes, this is nothing like vetiver in them. Nothing like ELDO Fat Electrician or Vetiver Oriental by Serge Lutens, those two are more niche. This here is less niche and much much stronger stuff. Just uber masculine and I love this about it. But the scent itself though, I don't know. I have to spend a few more months with it I guess. It's so nicely cooling, but not in the least unfriendly and alienating like Encre Noire and Fat Electrician. This feels fairly warm. Actually, you know what, I'm changing the rating to "love" because I just feel very easy wearing this - it's an important factor for me. Just super cool stuff. So far Nishane has been good to me, but I'm still to discover most of their fragrances (too bad half of them seem to be dupes). The other two I have are Nefs and Wulong Cha - fantastic. 8.5/10, yeah, really nice and easy stuff. Fits my taste anyway

I love Sultan Vetiver, but to be completely honest, for an "Extrait-Vetiver Fragrance" its NOT as "Long Lasting" as folks claim it is. Im getting a good 6 maybe 7 hours (On Skin) even after moisturizing with a thin layer of Aquaphor beforehand which isnt bad at all, but it doesnt last no 10 to 12 hours on skin like many YouTube reviewers claim it does. As a matter of fact Im sure that my Encre Noire sticks to my skin EVEN LONGER than Sultan Vetiver does. Now does it project? Oh YES! 2 maybe 3 Spritzes and your golden for a good 6 hours and any more than 3 spritzes may be a bit much bc of the type of Bitter/Vetiver scent it is, but its just NOT all that long-Lasting on skin. Now on clothes its a different story, itll last all day, yet ecen the following day its pretty much gone from my shirts. Just an observation. And btw, if it were Encre Noire id still smell it clearly on my clothes the following day. Just wanted to touch on performance or lack thereof.. CHEERS!

Sultan Vetiver is correct name for this Nishane scent. Really gets your attention and can be overwhelming. A minty/menthol comes around which can be overwhelming, though it’s just all the powerful vetivers stacked amongst themselves. Very nice and calming on the dry-down. Hyper active at first then calming on the dry-down. A masterpiece! A great vetiver scent for me cleanses, refreshes, is protective and fosters concentration or focus in life endeavors. This elixir does this. Great bottle and will buy a full bottle. Definitely does the job. I also have full bottles of Guerlain and Tom Ford vetivers which I use when a need arises or when appropriate. They both give focus and protection throughout the day. Sultan Vetiver does the job. Sultan it is with the best. Great job Nishane. One, two or three sprays all that is necessary. Be careful. Situation, projection and necessity are very important with this elixir or concentrate. Wow!

This is really interesting. Not an immediate love, but very intriguing. Opens with a delicious medicinal camphor. I'm two hours into the dry-down and the camphor has yielded to a dry grass/dry soil scent. The leather has not yet appeared. Edit: After a few more wears, I don't think this one's for me. I don't pick up any of the bergamot or neroli. but the wet-then-dry soil note is dominant. I feel like a walking potted plant. Plus, there's an ashiness in the dry-down that reminds me of thick, plush 1970's carpet saturated with stale cigarette smoke. As mentioned, Sultan Vetiver is certainly interesting, just not something I'd want to smell like (or smell in general) on a regular basis. Having said that, if this one works for you, the longevity is very impressive. One spray lasted more than 12 hours. It's a also a good value if you can find it on discounters; I bought a sample, but Jomashop currently sells a 50ml for $90.

Sultan vetiver is vetiver with a green twist. Lots of vetiver lovers praise vetiver sensual, I haven't gotten my nose on that as yet. However Sultan Vetiver is King for me thus far. Complicated, eternal lasting fragrance. When I wear this with 2 sprays, I feel like im in the presence of greatness. The citrus adds a brightness to the different vetivers in this fragrance, giving it a two tier aroma, the mixture of citrus and vetiver gives off a very pungent earthy smell; boss fragrance. 8 hours into wearing SV and it still has an strong presence, if you dont like fragrances that last eternal skip sultan vetiver. Love at first sniff for me. I bought a sample and right after smelling it, i bought a full presentation. Not to mention the lovely packaging. Sultan Vetiver is one top notch fragrance; true beastmode; from Nishane. You will be complemented

This is a second review. In the first review I said this might be the best vetiver fragrance ever created. Update: This IS the best vetiver fragrance ever created. Ignore the opening, it's harsh for half an hour, then the magic begins, and that magic continues for a minimum of 8 hours. Please, please do not over spray it. This is classy, and it is meant to be worn in a subtle manner. This is your office companion, not your party companion. This goes along with you Allen Edmonds cap toes and your Brook Brothers suite. If you're under 25...avoid, you're better off with something sweet but if you're into vetiver and you're young, get Vetiver Sensual from Mancera, or Tom Ford Grey Vetiver (EDP) this one takes a lot discipline...seriously. BTW both the Mancera and the Tom Ford are also very good, but this one is just a GOAT vetiver creation.

I usually don't go for very likable, easy to wear fragrances. I usually like a twist on almost every genre. Usually, but Sultan Vetiver has broken through. It is so multi faceted that is impossible not to love it. Sometimes it gives you cologne vibes with that bergamote and neroli, sometimes it's green, sometimes it's really earthy, sometimes it's a little big honeyed, sometimes it gives you small leather whiffs and sometimes it's pure on vetiver assault. At some point they all come together absolutely beautifully and it's insatiable. I think it's an elegant vetiver fragrance, like TdH is but more grown up.This is a smart casual attire fragrance to my nose. I do consider it's a pretty safe blind buy but not if you dislike vetiver. Performance is great on all levels. Recommended for spring days and summer nights. Get it and enjoy !

At first I was not the largest fan and the first time I used it it was headache inducing (but that was because I was a vetiver noobie... Yea not the best idea with this fragrance). However, that very soon faded away and this fragrance has been becoming more and more addicting to me. To put this fragrance into a real picture personally, I see an old middle eastern royal room. I see all of the kings subordinates waiting for the king and as he enters 'sultan vetiver' radiates through the room as he's sitting down his throne for the serious occasion. I really like this fragrance. Its smooth, strong (so much so that its rough), mysterious, clean, and classy... I think this is the epitome of masculinity with a middle eastern font. It is for sure polarizing but I know even the people who don't like this fragrance could appreciate it.

Impression: I absolutely love Sultan Vetiver. I reach for it specifically when I desire a deep sense of grounding and stability. Effect: This fragrance embodies what is highly regarded in aromatherapy: profoundly grounding and calming properties. It helps to stabilize the mind, reduce mental clutter, and is perfect when preparing for deep work. Optimal Application: Less is more. I strongly recommend applying a maximum of two sprays to fully enjoy this fragrance and prevent it from becoming overwhelming. I find the best placement is one spray on the chest and one on the back of the neck. In my experience, this "max two sprays" rule applies to all Nishane fragrances. Using more than two sprays can easily lead to oversaturation and potentially cause you to dislike their otherwise beautiful creations.

If Roja vetiver parfum cologne somewhat reminded you of TF GV or Lunar vetiver by Amoroud, clean and grassy vetiver. If lalique encre noire reminded you of Channel Sycomore, dark, smokey or inky vetiver. While guerlain vetiver reminded you everything in between. Even Creen Original Vetiver reminded me of Mugler come together, that soapy neroli blend with vetiver, Well this my friend, this is league of its own. The best vetiver i ever smell so far. Worthy of its name, Sultan Vetiver. This is a masterpiece. Vetiver lover wet dream. Performance? it stick at your shirt even after washing, you still can get hint of the smell. Mesmerizing and addictive smell. That licorice like blend so well with multiple layer or facet of vetiver. While neroli rounds it up. This is regal, advangarde, this is an art.

Wow, what a difference a couple of weeks makes. After my first wear, I was ready to throw this in the trash. It was sour, moldy and earthy - unwearable. I put the bottle on the shelf and thought, I will never touch that again. Well, for some reason, today, I decided to give it one more chance to behave. I liberally applied the fragrance and just as I figured, I was met with that same sourness. I was about to wash it off, when all of a sudden I got a whiff and thought, wait, what’s that. This fragrance magically turned into a something wonderful. It still has a bit of the sour, but it’s now met with multiple vetiver scents and a hint of white florals. The amber and vanilla help sweeten up the hole concoction. The sillage is strong as shit. One of the best vetivers out there. Rating 8.5/10.

A really complex and dense fragrance with attar oil like mannerisms. A damp swamp full of vetiver roots, smoke coming from far, a hill full of resinous pine trees fifty feet away. A soft kiss from jasmine/tuberose/hedione marking it's territory. A tarry vetiver coming from the javanese type, a sweet floral sweet vetiverish acetate poses a stark contrast in the drydown punching it's way through the protective layer of generic fixatives. The rough edges can be felt but this is the full jungle experience not a touristy safari. Only the patient and melancholic among men will enjoy this. Others will try to shy away. Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Parfum is quite similar im style and structure. A bit pricey for what it brings to the table but definitely worth a try.

Review #2. Male 37. Vetiver is my favorite note. I have 10+ vetiver perfumes. This vetiver is intense. Haven't smelled another like it. Something about Nishane perfumes that kind of make you kinda go "ew +😁". I did not like this at first. I refused to wear it, even at home. Smells like a smokers casino. Smells like a chain smokers vacation room with the A/C on 50 degrees. Reminiscent of a bowling ally as a child. Kind of like when you first smell a chimney on a cold day and it reminds you of Christmas time. Occasion wise this is a difficult ask. I wore it to work today, but get the feeling my co-workers that share an office with me might get pissed off. I am half their age. The dry down is fantastic 😍. This is some strong shit. LOVE IT

I like vetiver. But I like it only when it's not the focal point of the fragrance to the point that it destroys everything else. This is the first vetiver centric fragrance that I actually really enjoy. This is so masterfully crafted. It smells as if vetiver got its rough edges cut off, it's doesn't have that "rotten herbs" smell that some vetiver fragrances can have. The opening is a bit rough, but it smoothes out pretty quickly. Extremely well made, good job Nishane. EDIT : after a year trying this sample, I can say that for me it is the best vetiver on the market. I never thought I'd be so into a vetiver fragrance, but this goes on the wish list. For a formal/work setup this is absolutely perfect. 10/10 fragrance.

Vetiver was a very special note in my house growing up. My dad used to splash some on me on Sundays before going to church. So for me, it's not a polarizing note at all. In fact, it's kind of nostalgic. But to each their own. Personally, I love this scent. It takes me on a journey that morphs throughout the life of the fragrance. Each time I wear it I feel like I get to discover another tiny corner of the scent profile. On my skin, it projects VERY nicely, and actually DOES last all day for me. Even longer on clothes. You don't need many sprays, which means a 50ml bottle will last you a long time. Just remember, you can adjust more or less sprays depending on the season or the occasion, indoor / outdoor, you know...

One of the finest vetiver fragrances out there. Surely unique. For me what struck was the voluminous nature of it - call it "depth" (I agree!) , volume or '3-Dimensional'...this scent is a construct that amplifies that sense of MORE, with less (real art). It does this (I presume) via multiple types of vetiver and complimentary accents (bergamot, anise, leather). I also love the way it begins with dark, earthy, then proceeds into the light and soapy. These elements, and its character...its presence in the air, and longevity, make for a truly wonderful experience for those that appreciate it. It's centred, it's focused and it won't let you down. Surprisingly good too, in the warmer, particularly humid, weather.

Sultan Vetiver has vetiver in abundance, both in terms of quality, quantity and selection. I will describe what I smell without using the word vetiver: Opening - earth, gasoline, greenery, dark liqueur and deep flowery zest Heart - wet soil, tree resin, flowered honey, fired clay, smoke, sueded leather, caramelised nuts Dry down - warm soil, hay, roasted nuts, dry woods Overall, Sultan Vetiver is a great study of vetiver with very good performance. The opening can be challenging, being quite intense and complex. The dry down has depth, and showcases the vetiver in a more straight forward manner. A must try for vetiver fans. This is the highest quality vetiver scent I've come across so far.

There are a handful of fragrances that project confidence and competency, and this is one of the best of those. I reach for this one before important meetings or business deals, and it helps me feel focused and in control. It's astute, but also can be enjoyable to wear on weekends and evenings. This is my go to "get shit done" fragrance that I will always have in my collection. Over the years I've sold every other Nishane , but I will always keep and cherish this one. My bottle is around 7 years old and has aged beautifully. Very strong, only need 2 sprays. Absolute VETIVER PERFECTION! A study on Vetiver for the Vetiver lover. Had a hard time wraping my head around the medicinal quality in the opening (at first) with my sample vial, but after wearing it a few more times.. I just couldn't picture myself without having this "Vetiver must have". Super clean, intriguing, super unique, sophisticated, more for formal occasions, but can be worn casually if ya want. Last a very long time on skin and especially on clothes. I also find it quite smooth and versitile although I probably wouldn't wear it to just run arrands around town or something. A 10 outta 10 masterpiece! Im getting my full bottle via U.P.S TODAY! WHOOT!🫠

I do not understand how there's so many negative reviews on this masterpiece, the opening is this beautiful grassy neroli with a touch of bergamot which later dries down do a really addictive and really well blended vetiver. Also smell some leather in the drydown. It reminds me of the smell of walking barefoot on the warm grass while being on vacation while still being kind of dark. If that makes any sense😭 Anyways this is such a well made, smooth, natural beautiful vetiver fragrance that I can't get enough of. Could be worn pretty much all year round, especially on a summer night or cool spring day. 10/10 probably my favourite nishane of all time

Perfect masculine fragrance strong projecting clean dirty sweet earthy bitter vetiver.Omg this is good so image an elevated extrait version of Geurlians seminal vetiver which I own.This screens power it has all facets of vetiver accented by citrus(bergamot)spice(pepper) and sweet notes(tonka,amber) robust but clean leather. This is a true alpha male conquering olfactory experience for any man 25 up who has his ish together or aspires to.Any reason any season aside from dates unless you know the woman.As whilst clean and sexy it may come across to stern and formal she will likely be intimidated rather than seduced🤣

Smells like royalty. The vetiver oils used here are top notch quality, undergirded by the anise, delivering a smooth and sultry, powdery effect to the whole profile. Dries down to a gorgeous vetiver leather scent. Just a luxurious and masculine scent. Received four compliments on the first wearing, which is rare. This is a masterpiece and Jorge Lee has really defined vetiver mastery with this. Disregard all the bad reviews here. I can only assume they're noobs or they bought their bottle from Wish, or both. I've never met a Sultan, but I bet he doesn't smell this good. Love it. ✌️

A green, minty alcohol transitions into a honeyed, peated vetiver. Neroli fades in and out as the vetivers develop, from boozy to smokey, and sweet. Dries down beautifully. Rounded, slightly floral and honeyed. There are green facets to the scent, but they are more implied than stated. Quite camphorous as well, which is somewhat rare since most houses seem to prefer more refined/fractionated vetiver materials. Made me feel somewhat sentimental. After spending some time with it, I realised it reminded me of the aerosol beeswax my grandmother used to polish her table.

This is a throwback to the nostalgic fragrances from the days of yore, yet has a nice modern twist to it. It has an impressive blend of vetiver without being overpowering. The spices and fruit give it a fresh, crisp “good morning” feel, with promises of a bright day ahead. The leather strain is subtle, and kind, which moves its scale from masculine to unisex It is inadvisable to smell it right out of the bottle. Let it rest a while and then prepare to be rewarded. Dry grass! That earthy hay smell after the grass has been cut and dried in the Sun. A bunch of that give you this earthy, sunny, and sometimes sweet scent that to me is what vetiver smells like! I adore it! Sultan Vetiver Extrait de Parfum by Nishane gives you this rich earthy hay scent of vetiver. It may be very potent to some noses, so 1 or 2 sprays is enough for the day. I put it on before I left the house this morning. While driving, I kept smelling whiffs of vetiver, reminiscent of the Tatami mats in my childhood house! LOVE!

I am in laughter. The way that i hate vetiver is so real, yet this, the most overpowering vetiver ive ever smelled - smells amazing. Upclose, to me, it smells really repulsive - yet, in the air, this smells incredibly intriguing, delicious, herbaceous and even sweet and nostalgic to a degree. First minutes looks a bit butch with the leather but then it all integrates on skin. Goes beyond gender 100%. Something about it makes me think of real chamomille tea - guess thats why i love it.

Your mileage might varied depend on how much you like Vetiver. This thing is a vetiver bomb, smoky, grassy, and not clean at all. For me, this is a very dirty version of Vetiver which I prefer but this is not a safe blind buy, it is loud, bold, and will take time to appreciate it for what it is. Disregard all other note because like its name, if you like vetiver, then this is a fine addition to your collection, if not, steer clear and buy a sample if you really want to try it!

Sultan Vetiver after all those years is still most decadent luxurious vetiver masterpiece by Jorge Lee, altho he created many masterpieces for Nishane. Its rustic and modern complexity with intense scent profile is still leader in its own category. Essential Parfums Mon Vetiver from excellent Bruno Jobanović is another beautiful vetiver, more airy, aldehydic, transparent but still complex. For vetiver connoisseurs.

This perfume is AMAZING. I first smelt it in a discovery set of 21 perfumes I bought from nishane & it was my favorite out of all of them. I used to enjoy using my husband’s creed original vetiver before I discovered this it’s better in every way such great performance so complex & beautiful. I find that if I wear it after a shower in the morning it has a refreshing feel & when I wear it to bed at night it feels soothing & comforting. Highly recommend

I know chemistry rather well and I can understand that all fragrances cannot be beasts and good smelling at the same time depending on their ingredients... Nishanes "Sultan Vetiver" is how all "perfumes" should be, performance and smellwise (the smell is objective/relative ofc). If you like this kind of scents you wont be disappointed, you might get some headache initially but damn this perfume lingers and make you feel good!

Admittedly, I'm not much into Vetiver - but the combination of multiple vetivers intrigued me enough to sample. This stuff is excellent. And this even earned one of the highest compliments out there - my wife liked it. She's a little like Mikey from the 1974 Life Cereal commercial - she doesn't like hardly any fragrance, but she really likes this one. Scent = 8/10 Longevity = 9/10 Projection = 10/10 Value = 9/10
