Tero

An interesting take on a gourmand, albeit I think it's a tad misleading to think of this as 1. First spray it on and get a pastry-type sweetness in the air with some floral tones. Spices very noticeable on skin, overpowering the base notes for the first 15-20 minutes. To me, the caramel note is very prominent in that you notice this floating around as a dense sweet scent. Up close, once the spices fade off the top, the patchouli and oak start to dominate the top notes, making for a sweet-woody drydown. This was really good. This, along with Papilefiko, are 8.5s from Nishane's new TCC. I get the idea behind the comparison to Crush on Me by Unique'e which is also a caramel-patchouli, but Crush on Me is without a doubt masculine with the patchouli more dominating. In Tero, you get equal parts caramel-patchouli, if not more caramel than patchouli. Tero is also very much a unisex scent. The comparison to Black Phantom is a little bit so-and-so. I'll leave that one as it is. Best suited for fall and winter. Longevity I'd expect 10-12, sillage will be there for hours and definitely amps up if you give it heat. The value is alright - it's 50ml for €215 which basically prices it in-line with Kilian and I know Kilian as the so-called "King of Gourmands" does a better job with fall-winter scents, but at the same time, the profile here is only alternatively available via Unique'e at $339 for 100ml. Tero is less juice, but lower buy-in. This is one I'd wear when attending an event outside because it has great airiness to it. Edit: A month after this review, Tero was released in 100ml at a price lower than Crush on me (€315 for Tero vs. $339 for Crush on me). I'd purchase based on what I was looking for. More caramel/gourmand - Tero. More masculine/patchouli - Crush on me.

Initially I bought this fragrance because I loved New York nights but that was not in the budget. However when I scrolled down and saw that a fragrance called Tero that was extremely similar and I could pick up a 3.4 ounce on Jomashop I had to pick it up. I was thrilled for it to come in only to realize that it smelled nothing like New York nights. But I wasn’t disappointed! In the opening this fragrance opens with a blast of sweetness from the caramel with softer notes of the salt and the spicier notes of pepper. Also this stuff is nuclear. I. Usually a 4-6 sprayer on my fragrances but one spray straight to the neck does the trick all day and it projects like a boss. Anyways once it dries down you get a bit of the earthy freshness from the patchouli and vetiver that completely mellows down the fragrance. And this is probably just for me on my skin chemistry but after about 5 or 6 hours into the fragrance this smells very similar to pdm Layton which was a very pleasant surprise. Overall this fragrance is fantastic and I think the gourmand sweetness added with the earthy and fresh notes makes this an all year round fragrance. The presentation is amazing, the quality of the fragrance is fantastic, and the performance and longevity is stellar. For me this is a 9/10, but I could see how the patchouli might not mix well on certain people’s skin so I wouldn’t recommend blind buying unless you make horrible financial decisions like me. But this is definitely worth a sample.

I love this perfume, it's so contradicting, so interesting and it's not linear as someone mentioned here. It's opening like something green but still sweet, you get something spicy here, but not full blown pepper, it's smelling like gingerbread, but not overly sweet. On my skin I can get oak and vetiver but everything is so gentle and blended so good that I needed two days of over spraying myself with this gorgeous until I got all those notes from the pyramid separately. I absolutely love this one, the dry down is sweet caramel on my skin, which I can still smell from the day before. Projection is not that great, but longevity is good, it's not heavy but you still can overspray it, because the scent bublle is not big but dense. For two days I am using 4-5 sprays on my chest and some additional sprays on my forearm just to have easy access for my precious thing. I do not have a lot experience with Nishane house, I love Hacivat and B-612, but this is my first bottle from the house and I think it ticks all the checkboxes for a great perfume. Now temperature is from 10 to 17 Cenlius in the location where I live and it's just what I need now.

This was definitely a love at first sniff for me. It opens with a burst of pepper and spices and a few minutes in, the caramel comes through. The sweet kick from the caramel is balanced out by the spices, the dusty feel of patchouli and the woodsy notes at the base so it doesn’t go into the gourmand territory. It is quite unique and it will make you stand out from the crowd. Despite the sweetness from the caramel, this fragrance is more masculine leaning in my opinion but the ladies could well rock this. (For reference, I am female and I normally steer away from very masculine fragrances.) Suitable for all occasions but you may want to go easy on the trigger with this in the office or other enclosed environments. As with most Nishane fragrances, longevity is pretty amazing (a solid ten hours on my skin and days on my clothes) and projection is also good. I will definitely repurchase.

I have had a bottle of Tero that's been simmering for two years. Caramel, what? Not on this girl. Sweet? Nope. Not at all. If there is caramel, it's faint..When I read the descriptions, notes and reviews I thought maybe they mislabeled my bottle! It's a straight up spicy wonder! Pepper, patchouli, amber and vetiver...I get the cinnamon as well. WOW is it good. Nothing gourmand thank goodness.. How many bakery scents do we need? I find them becoming redundant. This is probably more suited to fall but the weather has been dreary here and this perfume is what I needed to feel comfy.. It's got great sillage and pretty good longevity. So good I bought another bottle, as these perfume houses can be capricious..you never know when a scent is discontinued. I will say- must love patchouli. Must love vetiver. Must love turning heads when you walk through the club..😁

Very simple review for a very simple, but exquisite, fragrance... caramel, caramel, and then, more caramel! It’s a vanillic and dark from the Caramel, it’s salty from the... you guessed it, from the Salt, it’s earthy from the Patchouli, and it’s spicy from both the Sichuan and the Black peppers... nothing more and nothing less, and it doesn’t really evolve throughout the duration. It is gourmand, it is exquisite, and it is a much needed new interpretation of the caramel/vanilla fragrances. The only drawback is performance, projection is faintly moderate for the first hour then it becomes intimate but present, longevity is good, it has been 6 hours and I can still smell myself. It is unisex and can be worn in any weather, with the only exception of very hot days, too sweet for those. A very unique caramel/vanilla perfume.

Fell in love immediately!!! I smelt it one time then i decided to test it two times to see longevity and how is performing and then bought it...! Very good smelling fragrance. I love it!!! It is gourmand salted caramel fragrance with earthy woody scent, so well balanced, so perfect blended and crafted from excellent materials that makes this fragrance so enjoyable....!!!! It lasts more than 12 hours with a good sillage. On my skin lasts about 20 - 24 hours. After 14-16 hours exists as a skin scent. I could say for the most people will be ok... Even for a blind buy i could recommend this. It's a little expensive but I think it's worth the money ...For this reason it will be wise to go and check it first before you buy it. Great perfumery at its best!!! I'll give it a 10/10...!!!

I think I am ready to sign up for Nishane fun club Another masterpiece with distinct Nishane DNA - beautifully blended spiciness, sweetness and refreshing woody notes The peppery opening is a little bit rough and manly, but really fleeting The sweetness is rather from patchouli than the caramel for me, keeping it balanced and unisex, not a gourmand Very distinct refreshing vetiver note, combined with amber makes it into a soft landing - meditative and pretty UPD: came back jut to say that the dry down on me is DELISH!! it's not supposed to have anything sweet judging by the notes, but it's distinctively, deliciously soft and sweet and lingering

This scent is airier than the other Nishane scents I have. In the air, I get the sweetness from the caramel with not much else but with my nose close to the area where it was applied, It is spicy and earthy at the same time and also has a soft powdery facet. While this is a scent I love, I wish it had more oomph! It's really light on my skin that I sometimes forget it's there till there's a gust of wind or something. It also doesn't last as long as Ani & Hacivat on my skin. Finally, if you tried Crush On Me but it was too scratchy for you, you might prefer this. Don't expect the monster sillage and longevity from this one though.

Been wearing this for about a month now, wow. Amazing spicy caramel with earthy notes hidden inside. The caramel isn't super sweet to me which I love. Most definitely a unique caramel, gourmand profile. This stuff is also eternal. One spray on my shirt survived a full days use, and the washing machine. Two sprays will have people smelling you, and you smelling yourself constantly through the day. Projection is solid, but really good within 3 feet for me. 10/10 underrated scent. I blind bought this based off the notes and accords, and it smelled exactly like I thought it would. $120 tester on Jomashop rn.

The fragrance opens with sweet caramel notes, soon enveloping the wearer in a lightly spicy aura that evokes hints of incense. This marriage of gourmand sweetness and resinous accords lasts for a very long time, with a pronounced sillage that beautifully wraps you in a comforting haze. In the base, as a skin scent, it becomes slightly drier. Despite the dominant caramel, the scent avoids the triviality of a typical dessert-like gourmand. It feels mature, elegant, and thoughtfully constructed. So far, my favorite from the house of Nishane.

Nice! This fragrance has an earthy, dirty, musky, spicy and masculine scent, with just the right amount of sweetness from the caramel. Great silage. It smells fresh on the skin, and then matures at the drydown. The scent is long lasting, and every now and again, you get a waft of vetiver and patchouli. You only need 2-3 squirts, because this scent is persistent. This scent leans masculine but I’ll appreciate it on a woman too. I would wear it through all seasons. Arguably the best from the Time Capsule collection. Rating: 9/10

This is a new favorite for me. The initial blast of sweet salted caramel and some patchouli underneath is just amazing. Beautifully blended and addicting. To a small degree I get a bit of Straight to Heaven the way the patchouli peeks through the sweet fruit accord, the same thing happens here with the caramel. Not getting the l comparisons to the other Killian frags like black phantom. In any case, not a safe blind buy but it's damn good. What you see in the scent pyramid is what you get.

This fragrance is very attractive smelling to me. Opening is very invigorating and fresh spicy and really awakens your senses. Then it starts to become more gourmand and delicious smelling. I get a mix of like roasted coffee and burnt caramel, and sometimes in the air it makes me think of peanut butter. Overall a very good fragrance and very unisex. 10/10 and tero is the best and most unique fragrance from nishane time capsule collection. I immediately bought a bottle after I smelled it.

An absolute masterpiece from Nishane! Opens up with a blast of medicinal pepper which is not for everybody but I personally love it. The dry down is salted caramel and cinnamon heaven with some woody undertones and abit of vetiver. One of the best gourmands on the market and surprisingly not cloying whatsoever. 24 hour+ longevity and room filling sillage... Stands out from the other gourmands on the market ATM. 10/10.

Spicy salted caramel cinnamon fragrance with some freshness from the pepper...with a touch of funk underneath with the vetiver and patchouli. The pepper (I think Szechuan) makes the fragrance have some freshness and a little zing. The caramel is realistic too, not plasticky or candlelike. And it’s not cinnamon dominant but it’s there. This is a beautiful fragrance. Will get heavy run this fall and winter.

This is my favorite in the time capsule collection. It definitely has Black Phantom vibes, but if you take away the predominant gourmandish feel from BP and replace it with spices & peppers. Salty sweet goodness. This is the only one from the time capsule collection that's not overpriced for what it offers. Nishane fanboys will rejoice! Good work, Carlos Benaim!

someone below stated that the opening is a cumin + BO smell and to me that is pretty accurate. Slowly after that the caramel starts to become present in the scent. The caramel isn't sickly sweet but the earthy undertones make it a unique caramel scent. its freaking strong and projects really well. not a super winter scent but could pass this off in the fall too.

This stuff will have you smelling so good, and is definitely a compliment getter! I’m surprised it doesn’t have more ratings and reviews. I love the contrast between the caramel and salt/pepper notes. The caramel is done just right, and isn’t overpowering. A great smelling fragrance, and different from others. Very much unisex too.

Absolute 10/10 in terms of uniqueness, quality and longevity. It smells like a $500 caramel dessert you would absolutely enjoy to every bit. The ingredients are so well blended, a fully rounded fragrance. It is masculine leaning but it does perform beautifully on women too. The scent trail it leaves is just stunning.

Testing my sample; this is a salty caramel square covered with black pepper with a patchouli, amber, and what smells like a sandalwood center. Cool/cold weather only. Projects very strongly off my skin, lasts all day. I'd definitely consider a full bottle of this.

An unexpected love for me. I agree with other posters who recognise a slightly nutty, almond note that radiates through the caramel, it makes it less syrupy and sweet in my opinion. A very mature gourmand, I had to get the full bottle almost immediately!

Can’t see anyone hating this sweet spicy fresh opening hits you like a bomb with no sharp edges very smooth 10 hour plus performance, i would say it’s a different take on ani and I think it’s better . stays sweet on the dry down overall 9 out of 10

Really well done fragrance, very balanced dry down and very powerful. I love wearing it to the office where the temperature is constant and I can wear it any season, any day! I love this fragrance and is one of my favourite sweet fragrances.

Sweet but has character. The saltiness and patchouli and oak makes this more unique and dark. Perfect for a date or winter. The caramel is similar to the one in killians black phantom. My first impulse buy, bought it on the spot. Very lovely

Try it on a fragrance store yesterday and I love the smeel of it, also my arm where I try it on still has the smell of the perfume even after sleeping, It lasted approximately 15-16 hours, Very good quality for the cost of the bottle.

Salted caramel is the most proeminent note. It's very sweet and it's a pretty addicting scent, but i imagine that in the summertime, especially with excessive sprays, it can easily give headaches. 8/10

Caramel to the MAX! Amazing scent, this is caramel for grown ups. I love Bon Bon Pop by HoO and this has some similarities. The composition gets a bit harsh in the dry down, it has a unisex edge.

I swear I smell sandalwood in here. In any case, it's woody, spicy, and oh so perfectly sweet. We don't see many masculine fragrances running sweet and imo this one pulls it off beautifully.

This is what I wanted Black Phantom to smell like. Black Phantom is just too masculine for me but this is perfectly unisex. Delicious caramel scent with lots of spices 😋

The opening is amazing, addictive, delicious. Mid— cumin funk, bo Drydown... GLORIOUS! Softly spiced, deeply sweetened, unique and beautifully blended. Just glorious!

Spicy salted caramel from the first sniff to the end. I think of this as a gourmand scent. Winter and autumn are his time and appropriately unisex. 4.2/5

big opening with the pepper I get a lot of that nice on the caramel. Not for the summer as for the reat of the year go for it.

Beautifully patchuli based caramelly-cinnamon fragrance. It reminds me of Intoxicated but this is more easy to wear.

This is so nice! Sweet, a little salty and fruity, light, very peppery. It smells addicting, i want a full bottle!

Heavy pepper opening with a light salted caramel finish great fragrance all year except summer or hot days.

It is a masculine salted caramel scent, quite ambery in the dry down. Not very spicy tho.

Unisex scent, heavy on the sweetness. Not my style; pm me if you’d like it for $80USD.

This one snuck up on me a bit. When I first smelled it, repulsed would be a strong word, but I did not like it. It gets points for originality. I've never smelled anything like it before or since. Don't let the notes fool you--this is not a sweet scent, despite the caramel. It's quite dry in my opinion. If you've ever smelled good quality pepper, freshly cracked and aromatic, you can get a sense of a main pillar of this scent. I remember times, especially in fine dining, where a small plate of warm bread with freshly cracked pepper, mineralic sea salt, and rich butter, actually made the dish smell like something. This is not too far away from that. You might think, who wants to smell like salt, pepper, and butter? But of course there's more to it than that, in the same way that other gourmands might evoke smells like baked goods but no one actually smells like a piece of cake. At the end of the day this is not an easy scent. It smells mature. It smells like the 21st century version of mature scents my father would wear (think something dry, woody, and perhaps rum-or-whiskey-like). But that's kind of what I like about it. I feel bold and confident when I wear it. Sample first!

A sharp burst of greenness to start things off with some underlying sweetness. Smelt so familiar at first, which must be the vetiver note, as I have a fair few vetiver-forward fragrances. Quickly morphs into what I'd describe as a roughed-up caramel. It's sweet, but has a punchy, musky earthiness to it. For the first 30 minutes, before even checking the notes, it gave me the feeling of getting some pepper in the nose - that prickly tickling feeling. This is more of a textural facet though, rather than one which influences the smell. Surprised nobody has already said this, but the drydown screams YSL Tuxedo. Like, really really similar. A slighty spicy, slightly sweet, soft & clean patchouli. They perform similarly on me too - decent projection for the first hour or so, before quickly becoming much softer.

Very interesting perfume. At the very beginning it opens as a fresh salty caramel (yes, it turns out that there is such a thing :) but then it nicely balances between warm (provided by the cinnamon and caramel) and fresh. I love the noticeable notes of pepper. Yesterday I thought that it is more male, today - more female, so it is clearly unisex. I think it fits every season and every time of the day, though for me it definitely would not be a perfume I would wear everyday. I think it will be an accessories to a specific mood. What mood? Still to be discovered.

A definite spicy salted caramel on top, then pretty quickly it turns into a woodsy patchouli with some caramel dripping from it. A classy masculine gourmand and I love seeing the caramel play throughout. I enjoyed my experience with you Tero but I can’t see myself buying a full bottle. In theory, I love a spicy sweet profile when I’m tasting it. Maybe not as much when I’m smelling it on myself. Overall, it smells pretty good and can see it being worn in many occasions. Longevity and Sillage is great too, fit for a sweet and spicy person at heart.

Very nice indeed. Salted caramel & light black pepper with patchouli sneaking in later on. That’s what I get. It sounds like it’d be sweet, but it’s more of a diet gourmand perfume which is a new category I just created: all the same delicious notes but none of the sugar. The late dry down is heavenly. Tero reminds me of Carbonara by Lorenzo Pazzaglia. It does not smell the same, but it has the same creamy, peppery vibe throughout the wearing which I love. Since this covers a similar turf, I no longer need to order a new bottle of that one.
