When first sprayed, there's a gentle hint of sweetness—perhaps from benzoin or nutmeg—that quickly transitions into the main accords of patchouli and woods. This fragrance beautifully showcases the character of patchouli without the harsh medicinal or bitter edges that some may find intimidating. The addition of balsamic notes and cedarwood softens the scent, making it more wearable and versatile. There's also a subtle earthy nuance to it, reminiscent of damp soil or the wooden barrels of an underground wine cellar. Overall, it's a clean and distinctive patchouli-centered fragrance, perfect for cooler seasons and ideal for conveying a grounded, composed presence.

Very similar to Straight to Heaven, but without bozzy rum note and raisins. I consider that these two ingredients are key to StH, as this one is missing in a way that gleam and sweetness. To me it’s a bit to dry, but see it yourselves. Longevity and projection are okay.

What you see is what you get; patchouli and woods. Not getting anything else. I'm not getting any benzoin per se, but there's just a hint of something sweet and powdery to balance the earthy and woody notes of patchouli and cedar. Not bad, but lacks sparkle and originality. A pass.

Creamy blonde woods and patchouli benzoin Im really pleasantly surprised by Nissaba as a whole, to the point where I am inclined to place it as the best brand I sampled in 2025. Everything I tried from them is tastefully executed and comfortable to wear, regardless if some of their offerings don't speak to me on a personal level. Sulawesi is definitely an interesting one. It's going for a prominent dry yet dense woody feeling enveloped by chewy creamy benzoin. There is quite a bit of the distinct cedar element to it, opening up quite dry like smelling a newly oiled cedarwood box, before the fudgy density of the patchouli amber creamy base takes over and blends with the woodiness to create a kind a pleasantly balanced woody amber. Quite attractive over all. Some people may find it too modern, due to some Iso E peaking out at times and a touch of amberwood material thickening the base, but all feels within the realm of elegance. Not my personal favorite of the brand, but definitely something worth looking into.

I have a different experience with this fragrance than the note listing suggests. From the initial spray, I get a ripening almond and vanillic sweetness in the foreground. It retains this sweetness but shape-shifts into something more resinous and balsamic in the dry down. Patchouli, in the traditional sense, is largely absent. However, there is a green and naturalistic quality throughout the wear. I'm very intrigued by Nissaba and their 'eco-friendly' compositions. This ones an unfortunate miss for me though as performance is poor and I'd imagine it better suiting a home fragrance than being worn on skin.

A great neutral “woods” fragrance for plain white tee shirt days or as a base layer under another fragrance. Like a freshly crafted cedar chest dusted with nutmeg... This is the first patchouli fragrance I've ever liked! It was love upon first sniff and I purchased a full bottle immediately. Very woody (dry woods), earthy yet clean? It's always more masculine than I remember it. Definitely worth smelling especially if you've yet to find a patchouli fragrance that works for you. Uniquely cool and warm simultaneously.

Very smooth and elegant, pretty. The patchouli is divine. A gentle spice and woodiness. Reminds me of Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense, which I was obsessed with, but this has none of the screechiness or astringency. Unisex, maybe leans the slightest bit masculine, but only insofar as cedar, vetiver and somewhat patchouli are typically thought of as masculine. So lovely

This is an absolutely stunning, well crafted fragrance. I love woody scents, but this leans a little too masculine for me. Im going to try it again when the weather cools down and see how I feel because it’s truly beautiful.
