Nivea Sun

This one has just been stocked for the first time in the UK. Oh my god. This smells like a little bottle of nostalgia. Every time I get a whiff it puts a smile onto my face and I don’t realise I’m doing it. Opens up with an almost sweet sunscreen coconut smell, then after about 30 mins starts to smell more powdery and refined. Personally like the initial blast more than the dry down but still smells amazing. Unisex. Solid 2 hours of projection. 5 hour longevity which isn’t too bad for a toilette. Sunny summers days sort of fragrance. I’d personally only wear this on a nice summers day so that the nostalgic allure remains in the long run. Simply amazing well done Nivea

I think this is just a beautiful juice. And it is such a different approach in the creation of a fragrance in the traditional way. I'm a man btw; and im gonna rock this one.. it is definetly more "feminine" than it would be "masculine", but idc it smells like summer, thats it for me. Maybe im gonna layer it, if it turns out to be too powdery-floral. I am gonna give this one a ?/10 because it's super God-Tier, but i don't compare this with other Fragrances. this feels like a category of it's own.. the composition is not like something to philosophize about. but it's just a perfect blend of things that make it a Wonderful and Nostalgic Stuff.

Love love love! Clean, soft, powdery, fresh. It's a fascinating and nostalgic smell. I've shown it to family and friends, and everyone gets a bit....confused...and happy..? You can almost see how pictures of their childhood summers flashes before their eyes for a split second. The longevity is quite weak on me, but it's perfect for a fresh pick-me-up during the day. Kind of like putting Carmex on dry lips - it switches, softens and calms your mood. Even a guy I dated last year bought it. He's going to layer it with and tone down his signature scent, for a more summer/day/going-for-a-walk scent.

To me, this is more 'perfume' than sunscreen, although it clearly and defiantly shares the same DNA, so that is no criticism. It is more 'new family member'. Honestly, I swear by Nivea sun products, and I also really do love this scent! The opening is a full on, very loud, face full of 'this is AMAZING!!', and my only wish would be for it not to quieten down quite so much because if you don't also fabric spray it pretty much vanishes without trace. All Nivea fans, and actually anyone just looking for a sunny, feel good summer scent, could do worse than giving this one a try!

I have bought this on a very cold rainy November night and my goodness it has transported me back to lazy days on a Balearic beach! This has the DNA of Nivea sun lotion with a dash of Sunflowers and a warm woody skin scent dry down. I cannot stop sniffing my arm. Longevity is yet to be determined but considering this 30ml was less than £10 I’ll respray as much as needed. This is simple, fun and utterly joyous. Fragrance doesn’t have to be complex to be good and this is proof of it.

Holy wow, this smells EXACTLY like the sun cream, and it hit me with a huge spritz of nostalgia! I am instantly transported to a sunny day on holiday, on a beach, lazing on a sun lounger - I can even hear the waves. Amazing. If you love the scent of the sun cream, you will be smitten with this. I didn't think I'd be so obsessed, but I guess years of holiday deprivation due to a worldwide pandemic really heightens the nostalgia factor here. It seems to last ages as well!

This is glorious ! Yes this is the scent of a floral sunscreen. Not the coconutty one. It's difficult to explain but this is the closest to a sunscreen scent I've smelled in a fragrance so far. Love it. Refreshing and happy, perfect for this hot Summer. For Americans, Smallflower pharmacy (online for those out of Chicago) sells this one on their website. Directly imported from Germany.

Got this in a two for the price of one with the original Nivea fragrance. Wasn't expecting great things, but it's really rather lovely. Smells like summer rather than the beach - not obviously aquatic or coconutty, but a beautiful blend of notes that come together in a lovely soft, powdery whole. Longevity also impressive.

Amazing fragrance! Well done Nivea! This is definitely a feminine scent - not unisex. It smells same as Nivea's sunscreen line. I wear it and think I'm at the beach! I love that it does not smell boring, common coconut-this has no coconut and that's the wonderful thing about it. Truly unique scent! and no coconut!

This is summer in a bottle without coconut. Nostalgic scent, smells exactly like Nivea sunscreen the first 30 minutes. Dries down to a powdery floral, but still summery. After 3 hours it's stays close to the skin and smells musky. It's only an EDT so another application is necessary after 4-5 hours.

I really love the smell but its not well quality for me .. the first 15-30 minutes are sooo good but after that it becomes powdery and synthetic. But i still love it because it reminds me of my summer childhood

YES this is smells like their sunscreen! now i need an EDP version of this and 100ml Bottle of it! because its not stays that long on my skin ..its like the longevity is only 1 hour :(

Unique summer scent. Love it! Wish it was more lasting though..It smells just like Nivea's sunscreen products. Only available in some EU countries..Need this in America too.

Exactly like the Nivea sunscreen. It is my favourite scent of all times, so as soon as I found this one I bought and used it throughout the summer!

This fragrance is great for the warmest days of the year. Often times I meet people who wear fragrances that are ill suited for hot weather and end up choking out everyone around them. Not with Nivea Sun! One thing to note is that it's an Eau de Toilette. Now, I know not everyone will fancy this but the softness and lightness is actually one of it's biggest strengths and the factor that makes it perfect for hot days. It doesn't matter if it gets humid or is a dry heat, Nivea Sun works. It doesn't overpower, its sillage is quite intimate which I think is very important in hot weather. It doesn't have the best staying power, yet if I get close and sniff my skin I can still smell it 8 hours later. No one else will be able to smell after about 3 or 4 hours of wearing though. The scent itself does smell like the sun lotion upon spraying. Over time it develops into a little more powdery, yet still sunny scent. No babywipes here! It's a perfect blend of notes as nothing really stands out or takes over the other notes. On top of that, this is the most perfect scent to put on top of sun cream! Sometimes fragrances would turn sour on me when I layered them over suncream, yet this one doesn't. Pricewise it's not the cheapest fragrance out of the collection in stores, yet it performs well for it's pricepoint. Definitely consider getting Nivea Sun if you're looking for a fragrance fit for those extremely hot days, it that will keep you smelling fresh and goes great with sun cream.

smells like literal sunscreen lotion, gives summery mood and sunbathing-at-the-beach vibes. it' s definitely pleasant and cheap but you might as well just use a real sunscreen and get this smell +actual sun protection. at the end of the day the performance of this , is very mid unfortunately, but i guess you can use it if you want a sunscreeny scent that lasts a little longer than the real thing. also i find the "pure sunscreen cream" vibe very simple and kinda monotonus, since there are other sunscreeny scents that smells more complex/interesting ( e.g. city of stars, neroli portofino, beach walk, any of their dupes etc) 6/10

Minimalist, mineral sunblock with a slight green sap note. Very much the feeling of laying in the grass in summer. If you want something a little summery that doesn't rely on Citrus, Coconut or deep greens (this a light green) I think this is lovely. I wouldn't sink a lot of money into buying this, but if you get it at a good price I think it's a nice pick-up.

Very pleasant powdery bubbly floral, i get a little bit of bubble gum in the beginning. Very comforting. There is cleanness, bot not soapiness. I see how this could be construed as "older", but i personally dont experience it that way. Like a kittens ear.

does smell like the iconic sun scent, which is what i wanted. doesnt last very long, and does require constant reapplication but it makes for a nice top layer if you want to add it with something else. reminds me of summer holidays at the beach as a kid.

Amazing! Brings back memories of childhood summers - thanks, Nivea! This is not really a complex perfume it is just a linear but very unique and recognizable smell to all who know their sunscreen products. Very fleeting but lovely nonetheless.

Smells exactly like sunscreen. I can only wear it in the summer because it makes me sad in other seasons when it's cold... I really like the smell, but sadly it doesn't last at all.

This smells like Nivea hand cream and a bit soapy.....but wait for it....after 30 minutes the solar notes and white floral cones out. The dry down is nice. It is a clean scent. I just took a shower feeling. Good scent for days after the gym, doing errands, house or yard work, daytime casual clean fragrance.

It does smell like Nivea Sun SPF, but it's not my absolute favourite as a perfume. It's stronger than the SPF in the intensity of the scent, though it is exactly the same as notes. I don't think that I will reach for this, but I might keep it until summer and see how I feel about it then.

Oh, why? I wanted summer memories and sunscreen, but I got instead a sweet, fruity bubblegum.

While it’s true that it contains the same fragrant fragments as the real Nivea sunscreen, which btw is truly addictive in its sunny-ness, as a bottled thing somehow it just doesn’t work for me. Maybe it’s just too much of the good thing 🤔😂. To have the same charm it would have to be toned down a little.

Okay, let's be honest. This was disgusting.. I imagined a sunscreen scent, the typical NIVEA sunscreen scent but NO. This smells like an old lady's bodylotion.. It's not for me, not for the younger age.. I'm sorry guys, but if you wanna smell like an old lady at the nursing home. Use this :') 0/10....

One of the Best Summer Fragrance ever.

In terms of fragrances that capture the vibe of summer, that laid back, relaxed feeling that one gets when enjoying beautiful warm weather, they exist on a spectrum. To me, the best do this by creating the distinct impression of summer, the vibe so to speak. The best at this, in my opinion are Bronze Goddess and Coccobello. At the other end of the spectrum are very literal, one-note, photorealistic fragrances like Demeter's Suntan Lotion. In the middle are fragrances that are more direct, such as Beach by Bobbi Brow or Sun by Jil Sander, but they still create an overall image or impression rather than replicate a singular scent. Nivea Sun is right in the middle of that spectrum. It reminds one of suntan lotion without smelling exactly like suntan lotion. It does this with fresh green top notes, middle notes that are very vague, creating the impression of sun and flowers, on a creamy, powdery base. Unfortunately its not widely available in the US, you have to get it a specialty pharmacies that import European products. This hikes up the price considerably for what should be a cheap and cheerful fragrance (I paid $68 for 30ml that and that pre all the tariff nonsense). So while I would repurchase if I was on holiday somewhere, as long as I'm living in the US I would instead replenish other easier to purchase fragrance favourites in my summer wardrobe.

Childhood, sunsets at the beach, endless boat days and happy memories. This is a gorgeous scent. I have their sunscreen here and it’s honestly identical. If you love Nivea’s spf 50+ sunscreen-smell (blue bottle) this one is for you! Further in the drydown I’m aaaalmost getting something a little «toasty» as well. Like a hint of something woody. Not a lot, but that’s the only difference I can recognize here. And this is a scent that I grew up with. I’m so glad I grabbed a bottle. It’s definitely gonna help me hold on to summer just a little bit longer into the fall this year, and I imagine a spritz of this on a sunny day in spring, or even wintertime, is gonna be like a sprayable anti-depressant haha. Well over 12 hours wearying and projection. Which is honestly amazing for an eau de toilette. Recommend highly. Especially to anyone that grew up with this scent it’s gonna be nostalgic.

Absolutely besotted with this. It really does smell exactly like the sun cream - or at least it does in the opening and for the first 20-30 minutes. After that it becomes more of a generic solar floral scent, though still very lovely. If you’ve been searching for that perfect sun cream scent, look no further!

Just loved your review Tamago37, I'm that middleaged European (not yet grandma) on the beach!! Orderd inmidiately a bottle on the internet, it's true, smells exactly like the original sun lotion. Has not so great longevity, but hey, I can reapply it and I'm back on the beach!!

A good, affordable summer scent or one that will remind you of summer all year long. If you’ve ever used Nivea Sun SPF, you already know what this is. Fair longevity and sillage, stays in the air for 2-3 hours, then it fades. Good for layering!

This was a bit too strong for me though I can see the nostalgic allure for people who grew up with the sunscreen. Smells like a European grandmother, in a one-piece, wearing a big hat, reading a saucy book on a beach chair...

Lucky i didnt blind buy it, I love nivea sunscreen but this one just doesnt seem to work on me. I only get the chemical flowery smell nothing that reminds me of a beautiful summer day on the beach.

Exactly the mineral refreshing sunscreen smell, powdery, the cold lavender little touch and the ultra clean musky base. It doesn’t last on me, but it’s so good, I reapply 2 or 3 times and swoon.

Very powdery, a bit fresh and sunny. Not my cup of tea, but fans of the brand won’t be disappointed. It’s relaxing and soft. Good for a lazy summer or fall day.

@Matheya, there is no 100ml flacon for this edition at the market as I know. It is a limited edition launched on German market and available as a 30ml EDT.

We tested this one in Nivea shop in Berlin, it reminded us of the Nivea suntan lotion. Pretty scent, safe for blind buy.
