Castelli Di Sabbia

#801 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a sample sprayette. I really like this scent. I think its underrated. Not much experience with dates in scents. Khamrah is the only one so far, though I do have decants of Atelier des Ors "Rouge Saray" and Liquides Imaginaires "Desert Suave" on hand for future trial. This smells more like Khamrah Qawah as it doesn't have the sharp bergamot note of original Khamrah, but this is in that wheelhouse, though the cypriol adds a green note those scents lack. The notes here are carefully balanced, and by that I mean I can pick them all out but any one is not dominant. Just smells nice and inoffensive. I think this is very wearable. Car pool, elevator, small office safe. Moderate longevity and good projection. BUT, I think you get the same general scent from Khamrah Qawah and Khamrah at half the cost of this scent and I have both on the shelf, so this probably won't be a bottle buy for me unless the ladies just go nuts for it. Update: After a three mile around the lake and an hour in the gym this stuff is still projecting. That's amazing. I'm gonna order a bottle after all.

Opens a little animalic/indolic and lightly rubbery (lasts 15-20 min). Mainly composed of spicy dates and cardamom, with a light backbone of musk. Slightly sweet, but in a very unisex way. There’s depth here, and it’s well blended so the composition feels smooth and unified. Not stunningly beautiful, but oddly enchanting and a little addictive. It’s a happy, warm, inviting scent perfect for men and women. 8.5/10

Sweet, warm and spicy, but very smooth, not the kind of spicy that makes you sneeze. Love the dates and the cardamom in here, they smell very natural to me. It’s a perfect fragrance for Fall, and can also be worn during Winter. Truly a beautiful unisex fragrance, really underrated.

Spicey, thick musk scent, beautiful and full bodied. The unisex composition smells and feels natural too. I’ve worn this before and forgot to review it. Once I put it on again.... memories came flooding back. More of a cool Fall day scent than spring. Love it.

A not particularly pleasant opening but after an hour or two becomes stunningly beautiful and one of the best from an already excellent house. Recommended

Aromatic, woody and earthy. Uplifting. Unisex. -

this one opens kind of odd, it's fruity, woody and a bit green. it smells like a rubbery bubblegum sort of. i guess it's the dates. after the opening phase it gets more green and less sweet, in fact it's slightly bitter now, or astringent. this one is certainly unique, but it is not for me. it's a bit too light and green for me right now, and would probably be better in warmer weather.

To my nose, this has a hint of an old wood in a musty basement. I am not a fan.

Dates and cardamon is an unusual accord my nose cannot identify, but it comes across pleasant and nice. I get vanilla extract and rubbery almonds (that could be cherries, especially in the opening), but that’s my lack of nose vocabulary.
