La Danza Delle Libellule Exceptional Edition

Gonna try and do this justice... Right out of the bottle, she’s sweet (and a hint tart) red apple, but in a warm way. Not an overly crisp, cold apple, but more like an apple that’s just been cut into after sitting on the counter and resting at room temperature. There’s a light creaminess to the apple at this opening stage, as well (vanilla). It must be the bergamot that twists in at the opening to weave a brightness into the sweetness that just...it creates such a waft of specialness. Can’t describe it better than this. The apple and bergamot continue to dance together as the minutes tick by, truly melding into one another to create a scent all its own; a sweet brightness that forces you to keep sniffing your arm. It’s non stop! The vanilla introduces a creaminess from the first spritz, and it continues to develop at each stage. That vanilla is a mainstay and is detectable, at varying levels, throughout the duration of the fragrance, which for me is about 8 hours. The cinnamon is very subtle, but adds to the overall dimension of the scent. But it’s the cedar, I think, that really grounds it and makes is something a bit different. Lastly, the cacao enters and this almost dusty chocolate is what I detect in the waning hours of wear. Fragrantica lists it as a coconut note, but this is a mistake. It actually should say cacao, not coconut. A look at the OG on the Nobile 1942 website confirms this. The overall composition of this fragrance is sweet, creamy, dreamy, slightly bright. She’s like nothing else I’ve ever smelled. I’m completely and totally taken by this one. She’s in a class all her own, and I’m in love 🦋

I'm reviewing the extrait, which is probably slightly different than this, but I really wanted to review this one because it has become one of my favorites. The apple in the extrait version lasts a really long time. Surprisingly long! And, it doesn't smell like a candle! It's light on the cinnamon and spices, which I think if they were more forward, would put it in candle territory. It is a creamy baked apple. I wouldn't say it's like apple pie, exactly. Maybe apple pie à la mode, because of the creamy vanilla and coconut. After several hours of wear, it is a sweet, lotion-y, slightly fruity skin scent that you will catch yourself sniffing again and again. Highly addictive! It leans autumnal, but could easily be worn year-round, day or night. It's sweet but not cloying. It's heavenly. I'm genuinely thrilled to have found an apple scent that lasts as long as it does. HUGE compliment getter, probably because it leans gourmand. You'll get so many "You smell amazing!" reactions, and people will track you down to find out what you're wearing. I can't believe how delicious and long-lasting this fragrance is. This has the presentation (such a beautiful box and bottle!) and performance of a niche that’s twice as expensive. I need to discover more from Nobile 1942.

I own the original and have tried this one, I have to say that I love both! They're not different enough to warrant owning both at the same time though, in my opinion. This one to me is the "fresher" version. The apple is turned up a bit more, vanilla is turned down. If you've tried Zoologist Cow, this gives me similar vibes. Cow is the "nature" and this is the "home" if that makes sense. Like running around the barn during the day is Cow and La Danza is baking in that evening. In terms of the original vs this one, it's like spring and summer (this) vs fall and winter (original). Both are well crafted and neither of them feel cheap or juvenile. I LIVED and BREATHED juvenile vanilla: Vanilla Bean Noel and Warm Vanilla Sugar were my jam! This isn't that. It just doesn't have any florals that so many people are used to associating with a "quality" fragrance. Also, side note, that coconut note is wrong, it's supposed to be cocoa!

This is the extract version, way thicker because of the higher concentration of ingredients than the regular dance of the dragonflies... The notes listed by Fragrantica are not correct...there is NO coconut....it’s Cocoa instead. Check on Nobile 1942 page.... Anyway this is a feel good scent. Very happy and lively. A blast of Bergamot & Apple that settles into cocoa & vanilla fairly quickly. The Cedar & Cinnamon prevents this from being a boring cheap girly fragrance. This is happy, but confident. If it was a women I would say Jessica Alba....the girl next door with a multimillion business. The Musky base linger for hours. The longevity is much much better than in the eau the parfum. They make the bottles red lately, but the cap is always wooden on the extract parfum. I love it and highly recommend it. Great for summer or murky days when you need a pick me up perfume.

Now THIS is what I am talking about as a niche fragrance! I am getting vanilla and that juicy apple with a whisper of cinnamon. I am not smelling the coconut directly, but this has a light creaminess I am guessing comes from the coconut. This is a perfect spring and fall scent, I will have to test more for summer, but this is exceptionally and beautifully unique, not like just another perfume. I love that it is clearly identifiable, not something the masses are likely to be wearing, and it is soft, nothing sharp about it. I am in love. This is a forever scent for me.

I have the extract version in a blue bottle with a wooden cap. The packaging is gorgeous. I wish the bottle was clear so the amount in the bottle was easier to determine. On first spray, it's a blast of apples that mellows into a creamy, musky vanilla with just little hints of cinnamon; it's sweet, but not childish. This is definitely meant for fall/spring, but I'll wear it in the summer, too. For reference, my friend calls this the, "marshmallow one."

I'm testing a sample of this one and I love it. The apple does fade pretty quickly on me, which is disappointing, but the strength and sillage is fabulous. I'm having allergy issues due to local wildfires right now and I can still smell the scent through severely congested sinuses. The overall vibe is "wealthy woman taking a stroll in an apple orchard." Going into fall, I can definitely see myself wearing this often.

Fall apple-picking in the orchard, with a soft vanilla base. Much more sophisticated than Be Delicious, but the apple (my favorite part) fades pretty quickly, even though overall sillage and longevity of the vanilla pound cake is pretty decent. I got a smaple of this from LuckyScent, went through the whole thing fast, and am now contemplating a whole bottle...

A crisp red apple, freshly picked from the orchard. Or like a big, cold glass of apple cider with a splash of vanilla creamer. Cinnamon and apple tends to make me think of autumn, but this feels perfect for everyday regardless of season. I could wax poetic about how this fragrance makes me feel but I'll save my words and simply say - I think I'm in love

This is absolutely magical. So glad she's in my collection. She's elevated , indoubtly elegant and timeless. Soft , extremely strong as extrait. Unimaginable love ❤️ I do not get apple at all ( she's used sapiently). On me it's a buttery vanilla, with an elevated and subtle cedar and cacao anchor. She's sublime and well worth the bucks 😍

I can't get over how obsessed I am with her, since I own this masterpiece. She's phenomenal ❤️ I wanna cry when I smell her. It's pure femininity in a bottle. Incredibile and languid. So multi faceted. She never ever leaves. Lasts forever ♥️

Apples à la mode in a fragrance!!! For me, it smells a little more fresh with the apple in the opening but dries down into a really creamy, rich apple dessert almost as the vanilla comes out. DELISH!! perfect for the colder seasons.

this smells lovely! juicy apples and vanilla ice cream. it’s a fun fragrance and you will get compliments!! i like to layer her with guidance.

The store workers told me that they are selling this fragrance like hot cakes and it’s always out of stock. This is a unique creamy cacao fragrance, the juicy tart red apple note makes it so exiting. I bought a 10 ml sample size of it , but still not sure if I am going to put the full size in my wishlist or not. in spite of its uniqueness and deliciousness, this is a casual , daily, “every season friendly” kind of fragrance with moderate performance (longevity & projection) and it is on the pricey side , while there are many amazing more affordable options in the same category. But if you are a perfume collector this worth to be in your collection.

*From the Nobile 1942 website, the note is cocoa, not coconut.* I was unsure of the differences between this LDDL Exceptional Edition and the original LDDL, so I emailed Nobile 1942 for information. They got back to me, and their reply is as follows: “The only difference stays in concentration. The classic one is an eau de parfum, the exceptional edition is an Extrait de parfum. Same notes, different concentration.” So despite the different accords found on this page and that of the original, this Exceptional Edition is simply a more concentrated extrait version of the original LDDL.

Salty soapy apples. Lime, apples, & salt in a clean musk frame that makes this blend soapy. It has bits of cinnamon that doesn't make it obvious. The colder it goes the soapier, and muskier it gets. Fair. Edit (1 hour in) The drydown of this blend is just very amusing! it just turns quite balanced gourmand-ISH with that amazing mild sweetness with some salty note besides the apples. Impressive!

This is such an odd experience smelling. I feel like there are two very distinct components to this. The vanilla sits close to the skin and is warm and toffee like. The apple feels like a completely separate top "layer", and is very very fresh, like smelling an apple tree with a breeze floating by.

I have the extrait version but it is in a blue bottle. I do not have the EDP version. I was expecting a stronger fragrance and a stronger apple note. What I get is a musky vanilla with a pinch of vanilla and a hint of apple. It is pleasant and will be nice for fall, but I am not wowed.

I have and prefer the original. Comparatively, this is stronger apple note and also fresher, but the vanilla gets pushed into the background. Also heavier on the cocoa. However, I wish the cinnamon would have been amplified as well.

I find the “non-exceptional” edition too autumnal room spray/potpourri. I actually enjoy this enough to buy a FB. The apple is fresher; it’s still a little “potpourri” but in an enjoyable sense. It’s a very nice Fall seasonal scent.

Sono un appassionata di profumi gourmand e speziati. Ne ho provati ed avuti davvero molti. Il profumo è buonino.. lo trovo molto semplice e non si evolve in modo significativo. Trovo un retró chimico per i primi 15 minuti con alcune folate di vaniglia. Per essere un estratto.... Lo trovo davvero debole e troppo costoso. Probabilmente con una base più solida e variegata poteva essere migliore.

Very clean apples. I get a hint of spice, yet the overall vibe is very soapy. Not unpleasant, but nothing special here in my opinion.

It smells really fresh to me. Not like a candied apple like I thought it would. It's okay, nothing special. just okay.

If you like the original, you will love this one. This is heavenly compared to the standard / original release. Warmer vanilla, and clear quality difference. That said, BOTH smell like Yankee Candle on my skin. I want so badly to like these. I have ordered the samples twice before and thrown them out both times. Just ordered again, hoping the fall weather would change my mind. Nope. So jealous of people this smells good on.

I can’t ever find an occasion to wear this at. It’s kind of an awkward perfume in my collection, I don’t know when I’d want to smell like very crisp apples with a hint of sweetness. The apple note is very strong. Maybe the overwhelming apple note isn’t for me in general.

I get the resembelance to winter candy apple- but this is SO GOOD. it is fresh yummy juicy apple. I love to layer this with woody or musc scents for added complexity but it is very delicious

Creamier apple compared to the original that I sold because it was too sweet. I like this version. Bee careful wearing this outdoors!

This smells more like candy necklaces from my childhood than it does the og. Not enough apple and too sweet for my personal taste.

This perfume is STRONG . It’s different then what I expected but not in a bad way . I’ve never smelled anything like it
