La Danza delle Libellule

(TL;DR: a sweet fairytale of a fragrance with notes of realistic red apple, creamy vanilla, and cinnamon. Enchanting and comforting. Chases the blues away.) Reviewer youmeoui captured the essence of this fragrance perfectly when they described La Danza Delle Libellule as a perfume that evokes a beautiful fairytale land, filled with lush gardens, where gentle magical creatures roam. I agree completely. The fragrance opens with a burst of red apple. When you bite into a red cooking apple, it’s not the sweetest fruit, but it is refreshing. Baked into a pie, apples lose their fresh nature as they combine with the brown sugar and butter and soften in the cooking process. The apple in LDDL retains a sense of unbaked (but not too tart) apple crispness throughout the fragrance’s wear time. The apple is accompanied by warm cinnamon. The cinnamon is distinct, but LDDL is not a spicy fragrance per se, as cinnamon blends harmoniously into the other notes. I can't pick out the bergamot, but there is a sense of fresh citrus in the opening, which is very nice. As I don’t care for musk, I am relieved it is absent. I don’t get a specific cocoa note. The cedar is there, but quite sublimated, acting like an almost invisible scaffolding for the sweeter elements. Delightfully present throughout is a wonderful creamy richness, like a luxe vanilla custard, which comes into its own after an hour or so. La Danza Delle Libellule is not, despite the dessert-y descriptors, overwhelmingly sweet. It *is* sweet, but the apple staying fresh and the hints of citrus and cedar keep the fragrance from becoming cloying. There is also a realness, a genuine nature, to the composition. This is not an apple hard candy fragrance. You can tell the ingredients here are not the chemical additives that give apple hand soap from a big box store its scent, or that are added to apple fast food pastries to augment their flavor and smell. While I do enjoy apple in a fragrance, raspberry is my favorite fruit note. But as soon as I put a dab of the sample of La Danza Delle Libellule (from Luckyscent) on my arm, I fell in love. There was no question I would be ordering the largest size of this fragrance I could afford ASAP. This perfume is just so incredibly comforting. Nobile 1942 has created the best kind of gourmand: delicious and uplifting, but never fake-smelling, nor oppressively sweet. Fragrances inspire visual recollections, and bring back memories of nearly forgotten places and times from long ago. Or, as with what happened with me, a fragrance will make a connection with something out of the past. Right after this perfume’s molecules hit my nose, a scene from the book "A Wrinkle In Time" popped into my head. I had not thought about this book, a favorite from when I was a kid, in many years. La Danza Delle Libellule brought a memory from it right back. Protagonist Meg and her friend Calvin have been transported by Meg's scientist father across space, in order to escape from the conformist shadowed nightmare planet Camazotz. While making their escape, they have to pass through a field of dark energy that is surrounding Camazotz. This energy is, for lack of a better term, made out of pure evil. After their escape, the three materialize on an unknown planet. Meg has been damaged physically and spiritually by the passage through the dark energy. She is paralyzed, and almost frozen. Her father and Calvin are at a loss as to how to help her. Alien beings native to the strange planet approach. The atmosphere on their dimly lit world is opaque, so these entities communicate by non-visual means. To human eyes, the beings are shapeless, eyeless monsters. But they are an advanced race, and they sense the stricken stranger on their planet is badly hurt, and needs help. After introducing themselves, one of the creatures gently reaches out to Meg's cold, pain wracked body with furry gray tentacles. Meg is afraid of this alien. But she then senses the deep benevolence the creature is emitting as it tends to her. Her body had been stiff and icy cold, but she soon relaxes, soothed and warmed. The being picks Meg up to move her to a place where she can be healed. Comforted by the being’s embrace, knowing she is completely safe now, Meg sighs, and leans into the creature’s fur, which is described as sweet smelling. She falls asleep. This fragrance brought to mind the kind alien, identified in the book as “Aunt Beast.” Her soft comforting fur, I thought, must have smelled like La Danza Delle Libellule. I experience bouts of depression and anxiety and lately, there has been much to be anxious about. The aroma of this fragrance clears trouble from my mind and relaxes me. It conjures a protected realm of safety and of gentleness, where darkness has no power. I logged into Luckyscent right away, and ordered the half ounce size. I love this fragrance so much I try not to use it too often, though I would certainly like to. I noticed here on Fragrantica that La Danza Delle Libellule is being sold by Fragrance Net for a reduced price. I haven’t ordered from them before. I have heard they are a trusted vendor, so I think I will place an order with them when my supply of LDDL gets low. I want to never be without this utterly enchanting fragrance. If you are looking for a soft, sweet new scent for Spring, I would definitely order a sample of La Danza Delle Libellule. Each time I spray it, I am newly beguiled by its delicious soothing nature. The dry down is particularly yummy, as that is when the creamy vanilla, warmed by cinnamon, really shines. This stage is worth waiting for if you test it and don’t care for it at first. It is the “nose glued to arm” phase of the scent. This fragrance’s sillage is not huge; it stays fairly intimate during its wear time. It isn’t a weak fragrance. It’s just not a powerhouse room-filler. I find the best way to keep getting whiffs is to spray it on the décolletage, where body warmth helps keep it noticeable. And I always dispense a spray on the inside of my left arm, to keep this delightful scent handy for immediate sniffing. It is detectable for at least six hours. La Danza Delle Libellule's half ounce size comes in a no-frills plain glass cylinder with a stick-on label (it does have an excellent sprayer.) But that doesn’t matter to me one bit, as this fragrance inspires so much joy. I’m happy I found it. Edit: I did place an order for the half ounce size from Fragrance Net. It was shipped promptly, was packed well, and arrived intact. I made a careful comparison of the new La Danza Delle Libellule with the fragrance in my previous bottle. The new juice smells great, and is the real thing. I wanted to share my experience with Fragrance Net in case there are others like me who had never ordered from them. Best of all- I now have a fresh supply of this lovely stuff.

This arrived today and it is gorgeous. I was recommended to try Nobile 1942 by Sad Muppet (huge hat tip to SM for this - I bought this, Sandalo Nobile and Chypre 1942 and all three are bloody awesome). La Danza delle Libellule is a gourmand lovers' delight. The main notes on me are beautiful, fresh juicy apples, lightly dusted with cinnamon and creamy, musky vanilla. Cedar grounds this and prevents it becoming tooth-achingly-sugary-syrupy sweet. I tried and tried to smell the coconut - a note which normally stands out to me; I love fresh coconut, both to eat and smell, but it's definitely MIA from La Danza delle Libellule (The Dance of the Dragonflies - isn't that a lovely name?). I was puzzled by the missing coconut, particularly as I thought I could smell creamy milk chocolate (think Lindor - those wonderful chocolate spheres, filled with ganache), so I searched the internet for clues about where the coconut might be hiding. Always go to the source! I checked Nobile 1942 website and sure enough - I was right (huzzah and lashings of ginger beer!); there is no coconut in LDdL; here are the notes, cut and pasted from their website: "Apple and cedar smooth vanilla in this composition which starts with Nobile 1942’s distinctive bergamot. A pinch of cinnamon, cocoa to make the ensemble truly gourmand. The unavoidable musk keeps the graceful tone of the fragrance." Sillage and longevity are moderate - and I'd say this is a safe blind buy for any gourmand lover; it's such a delicious but subtle perfume I honestly can't believe that anyone would be offended by it. As at 28 July 2018, allbeauty.com in the UK have 75ml of LDdL for £49.95; they have a range of Nobile 1942 on special offer - definitely worth checking out. The site won online retailer of the year recently from Which?, the consumer's champion; their products are genuine and customer service is fantastic, too. ETA After wearing this overnight, I am revising my comments about longevity, as I can still smell this - on my dry, perfume-guzzling skin - well over eight hours later. The thing that keeps coming to mind wearing this is: Toffee apples!

This is an amazing fragance! my 2nd decant from Nobile 1942 and this one is crazy good, i usually hate apple but here is just amazing with everything else, you get at first sniff the fresh artificial green apple and bergamot, like a expensive perfume with Apple-cinamon Fabuloso, but is tricky, 1 minute after is a fresh green apple with warm creamy cinammon and the signature bergamot, and a suuuuper creamy vanilla givin a hug to everything with the warmess of the musk, and a cedar sprinkled with cocoa powder, but is not the tipical Gourmand that smells like food, cant believe it does not have flowers, definitely not a fragrance to do layering, but Nobile 1942 is like that, the fragances are so amazing that adding something else would just ruin it, this one makes me feel like a medieval fairy smelling a pay at the distance, so if you want to smell like a bakery, its not, La danza delle libellule and Nobile in general is more a scene in a tale more than a dessert, but yeah, it does smell like green apple pie haha but not like on first smell, is more like a "oh yeah, i feel some reminiscence to apple cinamon pay" and not so sweet, unlike most gourmands that just sofocate the sweet out of you, the musky vanilla is the only sweetness here and the cocoa, ant i would say sweet is like on the last on the list, but is a good one, totally feminine unless is for kids, wich would be like Rolls roys kids fragance haha but on a lady is just great, very youthful and nostalgic on grown ups

Ok I will start off by saying that this is not exactly what I expected it to be, but I nonetheless LOVE this perfume!❤️ So from the notes listed, I expected a thicker more coconutty and cinnamony apple pie fragrance. I expected a dense and heavy gourmand. But let me tell you this is opposite of heavy! It definitely is a delicious gourmand but it is an airy, fruity, and shampooey gourmand. I definitely smell the apple, but it is very crisp and sweet. Like a sweet and fruity apple shampoo or body wash. It smells like you showered with a sweet red apple shampoo and body wash, then applied a sweet vanilla body cream afterwards. 🍎🍦🧴 Even though this is a fruity and shampooey fragrance, it somehow manages to have a delicious creaminess to it. I can definitely smell alot of vanilla in it and it makes it so edible. If you are thinking cheap shampoo then this is not it! It’s a luxurious well blended shampooey smell, if there is such a thing lol. If I were to describe this in a few words it would be: a creamy and sweet apple and vanilla shampoo! Keep in mind, if you are expecting a dense apple pie then this might not be the one for you! There is zero cinnamon in this (Which I think would be crucial for a realistic apple pie scent). 🥧🍎 Also, it’s longevity and sillage are both great and its extremely potent. I adore it! Ps. It is similar to Casablanca and Ebhar, but this is much more fruity/ shampooey. I love the 2 mentioned but personally La Danza is my favourite.

Usually, it is normal to make a link between Italian fragrances with freshest aromas, citrus, of clear and natural aspect, as if it was impossible to produce beautiful floral, chypres or gourmands with this nationality. Here is a proof that this is possible. This beautiful fragrance is gourmand and liqueur! The official notes are: bergamot and apple, in the output; Cedar and cinnamon, in the heart; musk, vanilla and cocoa (not coconut, as stated in some websites) at the base. From the moment it touches the skin, it is possible to notice a slightly fruity aspect, in which the apple appears as a liquor, plus an appetizing vanilla. Although it was created for the female audience, I know many men who would love to wear this perfume, since it has an output of nuances very similar to the modern sweeter fragrances from nowadays, which have been marketed to men, like Black XS L’Excès or Diesel Only the Brave Tattoo, for example. And over time, its evolution doesn't lose in any aspect for some fragrances of exclusive lines from Guerlain, which are rich in vanilla and sold as unisex. Therefore, if you are man, fond of perfumes with vanilla and you don't care about labels, do not hesitate to meet this wonder. The relationship I make with the name given is the lightness of the Dragonfly over water, beyond their mating ritual, when the female and the male writhe and fit, forming a heart. A beautiful Eau de Parfum with huge projection and longevity.

This is my favorite fragrance, but I find it difficult to describe - more so than most. It's very sweet, but it's a fresh apple. Apples picked straight from the orchard. There's a caramel-apple-pie-creaminess there...but as though you're smelling that apple pie from a distance on a clear fall day while it cools in a window nearby. It's light, refreshing and not a heavy-handed gourmand. This really works with my skin chemistry because it smells in the bottle just like it does on my skin and it stays that way for several hours. Eventually, after about 8 hours (fragrances tend to last a longer time on my skin than most), I am left with the melted french vanilla ice cream you didn't quite finish with your slice of caramel apple pie and I'm not mad about that at all. I don't get much citrus, but I get a lot of cream - more so than most fragrances I've tried labeled 'lactonic' which, so far, rarely smell creamy or milky once they dry on me. I think this is due to the vanilla/coconut/musk base, but I definitely get a lot more vanilla and coconut and not a lot of musk. I am generally avoidant of musky scents, which do horrors to my nose and head, so this is not a heavy note here if that's a worry for you. Every time I wear it, I get actual compliments. For me, it's a good all-season perfume and my biggest 10/10 (along with Salome, it's complete counter really).

soapy, shampoo green apple in the opening fades to a tart, red apple juice, light cinnamon dream, which then fades to an ethereal vanilla skin. the perfect summer scent; i love gourmands but i also love to smell clean and bubbly in this oppressive, 90 degree city heat. july in new york, i crave the long green grass and craggy orchards in the hills of san luis obispo, california. the whisper of cocoa-vanilla-cedar is creamy and grounding but never over-sweet. so fresh-cut, playful, and enchanting! uplifting and soft, it's not terribly ambitious or complex but i do love that slight spice from the cinnamon that's more cold cider-leaning than warm baked pie. truly a garden fairy scent. just really straight-forward and likable. i wore it to a party and someone said "who smells like vanilla? someone smells so good," which is always a good feeling. bonus: spraying this heavy onto skin and then layering on a modest half-spritz of bianco latte is just "eat me." like apple cream puff, bite-me delicious. how to smell simultaneously expensive and laughably girlish, like getting drunk underage on champagne. such a frivilously yummy combo! or, alternatively, add a bit of sol de janeiro 71 if you really want to evoke a warmer/autumnal, pastry scent. up to you :)

I tried this perfume at scent bar and have thought about it ever since. I had been telling the employee how much I enjoyed Lira and similar vanilla frags when he suggested La Danza delle Libellule. On the test strip the Apple top note was so unique and unlike any other apple scent I had tried before. Now I got myself a bottle and have fully tested the wear. I can’t seem to make up my mind if the fresh red apple at the top is photo realistic or synthetic - it’s just that bright and unique. It keeps you wanting to smell more. Some people said it reminds them of a sweet candle or green apple shampoo. But I think the longer and warmer it gets on the skin it loses those qualities. I can admit if you’re looking for it to be mildly soapy - you can find those qualities. But what stands out to me after dry down is the vanilla, and this is what makes the scent bubble so magical. It is a true Madagascar vanilla bean icecream melted with a tad touch of cinnamon, not enough cinnamon to be considered spicy or christmasy just the perfect amount to flavor the icecream. This is such a comforting and playful scent for daily wear and I really love it.

I've heard a lot of people raving about La danza delle Libellule. She caught my eyes in the middle of Galeries Lafayette, and I gave her a little sniff of curiosity. At first, I smelled a delicious, sweet and decadent strawberry shortcake. And then, I couldn't stop smelling it. It was addicting, to say the least. For some time, I was confused by the notes, since I couldn't smell the apples. I was not able find the courage to splurge on a bottle, but 2 months later I bought a 15ml because she was haunting my mind. Since then, I can recognize an sweet, caramelly and fuzzy apple. This perfume can last a while on me, and I receive compliments from many. It is a gourmand, and it is sweet (not my usual thing), but it is quite nice. How can I justify the price for La Danza delle Libellule instead of a random apple bodyspray from B&BW? Hard to say, maybe it is the lovely bottle, maybe it's the glorification that embodies this product... but I love it. I've got the 15ml 3 weeks ago and there's already a dent halfway through the bottle. When I'll empty it (because I will), I'll get the full size.

If this fragrance was a movie character, it would be Audrey Hepburn’s Holly Golightly. In the opening I get a crisp, fresh, juicy red delicious. The notes here changed to green apple at some point, but I disagree- instead, think the apple used to tempt Snow White. Not quite soapy enough to read as shampoo, but it’s definitely fresh. Next a frothy, fluffy cloud of vanilla takes over. The cocoa and cinnamon add body and warmth rather than distinct chocolate or spice. About 30 minutes in the vanilla seems to expand even more and take on a laconic quality. In the deep dry down the white musk adds back the freshness of the initial apple opening, now more of a whiff in the background. I don’t feel the cedar at all. There’s a warmth that reminds me of towels fresh from the dryer too. I think she’s stunning. Dainty. Playful. Freshly cut apple slices buried under mounds of sugary just-whipped cream and hand grated cinnamon, enjoyed sitting in a patch of sunlight. If La Danza was a color, I think she’d be the most pristine shade of Cinderella Blue. 🦋🍎🍭🥛🌤️🧚🏽🍦🩵

I first smelled this at La Jetee in Nashville and was obsessed. This was my favorite fragrance for many months. It's so good. I just remember smelling a realistic apple and vanilla and was in love with the apple note. The lady showing me around told me that Nobile 1942 was known for their realistic notes and that La Danza Delle Libuelle was known for its realistic apple note, and then it hit me, it really did smell like an actual apple. After leaving with like 11 Tester strips, I couldn't stop smelling this one, so I put it in my phone case so my phone would smell like it. I was that obsessed. Now I'm testing it again with my own sample and was immediately brought back to Nashville. I am definitely going to buy a full bottle when I visit my friend again. I get Apple. Vanilla and Cacao in the opening, and so far, that's where I'm at. I love it already. After the it begins to dry down, it turns into a sweet sweet vanilla that makes me think of Ani. I sprayed it nearly 24 hours ago and I can still smell it on my wrist and even on clothing. It's great.

As someone that lived and breathed juvenile vanilla scents (Vanilla Bean Noel anyone?) this is so not that! I own this one and tried the Exceptional Edition and bot are wonderful in terms of longevity and sillage but this one does tune down the apple a bit. If the vanilla and cocoa are too much for you in this one, if you want the "fresher" version, def check out Exceptional. This works so beautifully for me, I was so frustrated that I couldn't find a vanilla forward fragrance without florals! I wanted a "grown up" VBN or WVS, when I found this I was ecstatic. This is like the fall/winter counterpart to Zoologist Cow! On my skin, it's warm apple pie a la mode for sure but it's not cheap feeling. What you see in the notes is what you get EXCEPT that the coconut is a mistake, that is not in this at all. It's cocoa! If you like HoS Hufflepuff (kicking myself for not getting a FB) absolutely check these out.

Love from the first sniff. It is a creamy vanilla bomb mostly, then the apple, then everything else. The apple note is more prominent in the opening, but then becomes subtler. What I really like about this composition, that everything somehow 'knows its limits' (well, apart from vanilla). It is very sweet, yet it stops right before getting cloying. The cinnamon is here, but rather shy, because this note tends to be very overpowering when it is listed in many other perfumes. It is happy and light hearted, yet not juvenile. Someone pointed out that this smells like apple pie dough before you put it in the oven, and yes, I can agree with this :) Is it similar to Casablanca? Yes and no. It is a bit like if Casablanca and Toy2 had a very beautiful offsrping. I think it can be worn during spring and summer, because it is really sparkling.

Sweet, sweet, SWEET, but God, I really love this scent. It smells like a beautiful princess frolicking around an apple orchard in full bloom—strong green apple, almost overpowering at the start, but with vanilla and a hint of cocoa, it dries into a beautiful, coquettish gourmand. Once it dries, that apple actually turns into something that reminds me more of a NICE artificial strawberry. And with the vanilla? Yes, you have a delicious strawberry shortcake. It smells EXACTLY like strawberry shortcake to me. That being said, this is not for everyone. I can see that apple being a bit sickly sweet for some, as it really is the dominator in this scent. But as someone who gravitates to deeper, more caramelized scents, this one feels like a guilty pleasure. I feel like a pretty Italian pastry, and I. Like. It.

Totally surprised by falling head over heels for this after trying the sample set, and had to get a bottle. There’s something so incredibly nostalgic about it, tugging on the heartstrings from long ago, but why.....? Is it the apple in the lunch box that usually did the round trip back home? Is it some apple fragrance like Be Delicious that I shrugged off a couple of decades ago? People are saying shampoo, but I’d remember that, and always avoided heavily scented toiletries anyway. It’s also totally utterly different to anything I own, and I’ve gone full ham on all things fruity. So light, sweet, vanillic, and beautiful. I’m finding the performance really good too, and am almost shocked at what great value it is for niche in Australia. (Better not say too much.) A fresh sweet apple, a bright blue sky.

This fragrance is so beautiful. It smells like the juiciest red caramel apple. A gourmand lovers dream. I usually don't like fragrances that smell like caramel because they're either too sweet or they smell like burned sugar, but this fragrance is so well blended & soft. To my nose this isn't too sweet & it's not offensive, but the dry down does get sweeter once the apple goes away a little. I've had it on my wrist for about an hour and it's dry down smells like sweet vanilla with the apple still present. This fragrance deserves all the hype. Although it's a fruity gourmand, I probably wouldn't want to wear it in warmer months. One thing to note is the atomizer on this bottle is so nice. Probably the nicest atomizer I have. The mist is fine but full and it does half sprays very easily, which I love.

A bright and diaphanous fruity floral with impeccably good manners and classic style. Nobile 1942 are so good at creating vivid illusions rooted in the past but with always enough of a modern twist to make you sniff twice and pause for a moment before letting the luminous beauty of the materials wrap around you like a warm, loving embrace. The bright opening is balanced by hints of dark chocolate and cinnamon evolving via warm woody notes, creamy vanilla and the gentlest of musks to a gorgeously wholesome and magically resolved finale. I could wear this all the time and anywhere. One of the House’s finest creations. I love it!

Wow!! I first bought La Danza about a year ago and when I first wore it it gave me more of a fresh, apple shampoo vibe and I was not impressed (I love gourmands). So I thought I would give it another try last night and oh my goodness! I was pleasantly surprised! I actually got the sweet apple with the creamy vanilla and a touch of cinnamon!! No more shampoo smell! I am in love! I was even considering decluttering this one and I am SO glad I didn't! La Danza lasted about six hours or so on me and after the first hour or so it was a more intimate scent bubble. Very enjoyable and I can't wait to wear it more in the coming fall!

This is something magical... this is a fairytale. A nostalgic place in your childhood, maybe not one you’ve physically been to, but an enchanting land you dreamt up. The land inhabited by gentle creatures, unicorns, fairies, and dragonflies. Filled with mystical secret gardens and flowers. You pull down an apple from a beautiful tree, and start eating it as you sit beneath, being shaded by its branches. It’s the sweetest apple, and as you take a bite, the wind blows the tree above you and from its branches fall a sugary-cinnamon-cocoa powder into the air. It’s sweet, playful, innocent, and quite enchanting.

Absolutely to die for. I was worried about the cinnamon note because although I like spice in fragrances, there's something about the combination of apples and cinnamon that I've never really been a fan of even to taste. But thankfully it really takes a back seat here and the apple and vanilla are the shining stars. This and Akro Bake are the only two gourmands I've tried that are actually good for warmer seasons as well. Apple and vanilla may not sound all that interesting but trust me, it's absolutely stunning and classy.

Oh my god, I LOVE this. When I first sampled it, I expected something more gourmand, but it has a beautiful airiness that makes it very palatable and wearable. The caramel is delicate and sweet, and it blends wonderfully with the crispest, juiciest apple note. This literally smells like eating a caramel apple on a chilly fall day- edible, yet breezy and light. If you enjoy sweeter notes but find a lot of gourmands to be too cloying or spicy, this is perfect for you. La Danza has very quickly become an autumn ride-or-die!

Starts as a very juicy fresh airy apple and then the spiciness from the cinnamon peeks through (making it smell a little bit like apple pie) until it settles down into the most beautiful musky vanilla. I love it beginning to end. The apple really stays on my skin for hours and the vanilla it leaves behind is to die for. The sillage is quite weak but the longevity is crazy, it’s been almost 12h and it’s still very much present on my skin. Maybe the Exceptional Edition has a better performance, I’ll have to try it too.

I don't understand why this fragrance isn't viral in the fragrance community on TikTok or Youtube. It is so wonderful, vanilla, apple, cinnamon and woody base notes in the best way possible. Beautiful, feminine, doesn't smell like a cheap apple perfume. It is one of the most beautiful gourmand fragrances I have ever known. I got my bottle in 2019 and I still have it because I use it very sparingly. I would say Dama Bianca reminds me of it in base notes - but without apple. It's the same type of sweet.

Sweet vanilla with a citrus backdrop. It’s as if the design brief was “what does a very fresh, fruity, and citrusy vanilla smell like. A day time, summer time vanilla. Has big time cream soda vibes. Reminds me of Green Lover but without the noticeable orange note and more of a ‘general citrus and fruit’ feel. The vanilla stays the same all the way through to the dry down, but the fruity/citrusy dies out after an hour or so. The final vanilla is simple and smooth, reminiscent of the dry down of Lira.

Hope that a couple of you have not forgotten this beauty by 2026! This is just a perfect sweet fruity vanilla for summer! The apple is crisp and juicy, and the vanilla is not too cloying or heavy. It just shines in spring and early summer! I know that a lot of people love this for fall, but somehow La Danza Delle Libellule has always been a spring scent. I really love this one. It's strong on the apple but it also has a shampoo vibe to it.. in the best way. It smells clean, airy, fruity and juicy! This is what I want to wear on days when it's a jeans and white t-shirt kind of day. The vanilla is there rounding it all out. And it's sweet but not a dense, gourmand sweet. It's almost sparkling if that makes sense. It just makes me feel happy when I wear it. I definitely want to try the Exceptional Edition now.

Absolutely fantastic! This perfume is worth all the money it costs. Vanilla, cinnamon and apple are the sweetest juicy protagonists there. Cedar and musk balance the sweetness with a little bit of balsamic flavour and cocunut brings melody back into the sweet world. You can smell the huge gap of quality between this jewel and the mass market products out there. "La danza delle libellule" is the Italian for the "The dragonflies dance". Magic. Give it a try!

I was afraid this would be too reminiscent of an apple candle or air freshener. But I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this is a creamy “melt in your mouth” type of scent. To me, this is a Dutch apple pie with thinly sliced apples, still slightly crisp after baking. You know the syrupy goodness inside that’s a mix of apples, vanilla, flour, cinnamon, butter, and sugar? THAT’S what this smells like. Easily one of my top ten fragrances.

I looooove the scent but the perfume quality leaves much to be desired for it's price. The sillage and longevity in particular. The scent is like a sweet cinnamony vanilla (like if you mixed vanilla essence with a bit of cinnamon in a cup) and then there's hints of apple (the apple is like a kid apple shampoo scent). I don't particularly care for the apple note but the vanilla is so good. It's not spicy at all. It's just sweet and delicious.

Y'all!!! I wore this on my first day at Dragon Con and let me tell you..!! It is a strong, heavy gourmand ok!! It smells like an apple pastry drizzled in vanilla cream. Heavy on the pastry though. I wore it for about 7 hours and it was strong. Sillage is quite large if you overspray. Similar to Ebhar, however this is more sweet and less apple focused tbh I have no choice but to stan. I will definitely repurchase when I run out

Smells like apple cider donuts with warm coconut milk. One of best thing I've ever smelled! On my skin, the coconut milk smell was a bit more dominant, but it still smelled really warm and cozy. Maybe like a coconut milk steamed drink with a pump or two of apple cider syrup in it? I loved this and it performed really well for me, smelling just as great for 8+ hours! This is definitely going on my wishlist for a full bottle!

this is SUCH a beautiful perfume. coming from someone sceptical of vanilla/sweet gourmands in general, this smells like nothing i've ever tried before. delightfully sweet and warm, yet still carrying the crisp juiciness of a real red apple. it's very sweet, but somehow at the same time not overpoweringly/sickeningly so. gorgeous for autumn and winter and honestly one of if not my favourite perfume of all time

I never want to be without this. This is the holy grail fragrance I’ve been searching for my whole life. This and the exceptional version (heavier apple on that one) are everything A disney princess would wear this A juicy sweet red apple coated in a vanilla shell, with a hint of the cinnamon This is an all year scent. It can even be worn in summer and I mean that Longevity is fantastic Sillage is moderate

This is the perfume that I want my children to remember me by. It smells like a freshly baked apple pie in the best possible way. It is comforting, fun, wholesome and nurturing. This is a warm embrace. This is love in olfactory form. I think this would be a perfect Mother's Day gift for a sophisticated, young mom. But anyone can wear this and feel special and happy. It's perfection!

Obsessed is an understatement. This is the freshest, apple and cinnamon scented light gourmand! It reminds me of some of the autumn scents at B&BW but obviously more sophisticated and chic. Moderate to light sillage and projection but lasts all day on my skin- esp when layered with a vanilla scented oil (e.g., vanilla bean by kuumba made). I need a full bottle asap!!

I cannot tell you how much I love this perfume. To my nose she opens with the sweet apple note and dries down to a vanilla like no other. Perfectly balanced, not overly sweet or cloying. Soft femininity at it's best. The way that the notes play so well together keeps this on my top shelf. Fyi: I am not a huge fan of vanilla, this one is special.

La Danza delle libellule is absolutely beautiful. It’s quickly climbing to the top of my list. A crisp red apple strudel with vanilla and musk. I don’t smell much of the cinnamon or cedar notes. So if you’re not into gourmands this might not be the one for you. This also lasts pretty well on my clothes once it dried down to a soft vanilla.

I blindbought this, based on reviews and the certainty I would love it based on the notes. I was extremely disappointed in the first 20 minutes, then the top notes softened, leaving in its wake a gorgeous, fluffy, fruity vanilla cloud. The drydown is stunning. I am convinced this is what heaven smells like. A bewitching scent that uplifts.

Mouthwateringly good, musky juicy apple & vanilla. It's heaven to my nose, not too gourmand but still the apple is so prominent. Like others mentioned, this gives shampoo and cleanliness, but also leaves that warm vanilla feeling. So simple yet so complex. Really really nice. Longevity unfortunately poor, but I wouldn't mind reapplying.

I loved this fragrance but it's very sweet and very intense. Definitely because of vanilla and cinnamon combo. That combo is super strong and is not for everybody. It's very gourmand, fruity, sweet just like an apple pie, very fall-inspired and I would love to say that even though it is not a pumpkin spice, it has a similar vibe to it.

OMG, this is a very lovely perfume for every day wear, every ocassion. I can get mostly the vanille and apple, so I adore it! It has a 6-8 hours longevity and good performance in the first 4 hours. Not too complicate but good quality. It makes me always happy! I received it from my Husband, so I think man can love this in a woman.

Love at first sniff!!! I get a very vivid picture of freshly cut, crisp green apples dipped in vanilla cream when I smell this! It is photorealistic imo, so much so I'm fact that it makes my mouth water and my stomach growl in hunger! And I received an unsolicited compliment from my husband and my son, which always makes my day 😁

omg sooo good its like a straight up juicy apple its amazing. Like other people have said i dont get much cedar or spice but just a tasty creamy apple scent. EDIT: after wearing for 4ish hours the apple scent has disappeared and has left a super lactonic vanilla-y which is still nice but not as stunning as its opening

Wowowow I’ve never smelled apple done in such a delicate, creamy way. Absolutely beautiful. I can kind of understand how people might compare this to a candle, however it is a very subtle, unlit soy candle or in my opinion more lipsticky- definitely not some super intense yankee candle at the dentists office.

the freshest red apples, picked from an orchard, enveloped in sweet marshmallows. very vanilla and comforting musk forward as the apples fade over time, and the woody cinnamon adds depth to the sweetness. sillage is moderate, and lasts about 4-5 hrs on skin but much longer on clothes (6-8 hrs)

this perfume smells like you’re sitting outside at a cafe in that idealized version of paris that exists only in your mind on a brisk day in the middle of october. i feel like a little coconut cream puff when i wear this. guys seem to like this one, but i’m a lesbian and i don’t care.

Fantastic, light and airy gourmand. Apple and vanilla. Sweet but not cloying or syrupy. Just a very pleasant and soothing scent. Completely unique to my nose. This probably does lean a bit feminine, but less so then say Lira or Bouquet Ideale. I think anyone can pull it off.

A gorgeous vanilla and cocoa with mildly sweet fruity-ness frag. Mass appealing and unisex. Reminds me of Ani and Fan Your Flames but with some fruityness. Dries down to a warm amber frag. I get 12hours of longevity, projection is better than average but not overwhelming.
