Shamal

Well, this is a little oddball isn't it? I wanted to try it since I already have Rudis and Malia, both excellent perfumes. And though I'm not a bottle and packaging fetishist, how can you not fall in love with these bottles and boxes? My first impression spraying my sample after a few minutes is certainly not unpleasant but unlike anything I've smelled before. The sweetness of dried dates or figs mingled with something sharper that has to be the smoke but could also be taken for a leather note. Something else too, like a pleasant smell wafting from an old cupboard or chest. It's not jarring, if I smelled it somewhere it would leave me wondering: what is that? I might really come to like this one, but oh my wallet in that case... My two others were purchased when our niche perfumery closed, so not as harmful for my funds :0) Also in there: something of the sea on a cool breeze mingled with the previously mentioned exoticness. Very strange, but I do like it! Edit: In the meantime I own a full bottle and a backup that arrived yesterday as it was selling for a ridiculous price. I'm hooked by now and it's a solid love. It's still one of the oddest perfumes I own, but a beautiful thing. It reminds me of the desert and brings the Tuareg to mind. Something in it says indigo blue just like the color of the veils they're wearing. And if you were to tell me this is a perfume from 2000 years ago I could easily believe it. The inside of a pirateship filled with exotic wooden chests with countless perfumed riches inside is also an image coming to mind. Perfume has to make you dream, this one delivers.

When I spray it, I clearly smell very sweet dates and a fruity accord—but not apple. There’s also something smoky and dry, with a hint of soapiness. Imagine being lost in the middle of the desert, exhausted and longing for water. Suddenly, you spot a structure made of sticks, wood, and carpets in an oriental style. You walk inside and find an Arab man, smoking so heavily that you can barely see through the haze. He sells Eastern delights—from sweet dried fruits (dates) to cigars and alcohol. That’s what this perfume captures in a bottle—Shamal by Nobile 1942.

This is a very unique frag. This scent reminds me of something from childhood, I have no idea what exactly (!), maybe some velvet-amber things. I would not say there is a dominant apple or intense. It starts with good dates -amber notes smoothly go into a velvet vibe, then some intense green apples appear. It is a really interesting and well-balanced mix, unisex. I consider to get a full bottle and I think it is a blind-safe buy for most. BTW Rudis red bottle of Nobile 1942 is kinda same DNA but a beautifully fruity one. I would get both!

As a fan of all things Nobile 1942, I bought this one blind, and I'm sad to say that I regret it. It was impersonal and wrong on me. Don't get me wrong - it isn't *bad* - with Nobile 1942 I've found that even if you don't like something, it will certainly be made well - but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Also it completely disappeared on me. This happens, right? The main notes that I smelled before it "disappeared" were apple, smoke, wood and pepper - definitely not "perfumey" enough for my liking. So it's going to make a really lovely gift for my mother in law who I think will like it very much. To me (and again, I could be wrong!) it had more of a subtle cologne quality. A bit too woodsy for my tastes, but suited for a quieter disposition, I think. Also I think this would be very nice on a man. I'm looking forward to reading other people's reviews of this. Update: I just layered it with Nobile 1942 Chypre and the combination is out-of-this-world divine. Mother in law might not be getting this after all. ;)

OK I'm reviewing this for a second time! AND I am so far the only person who seems to be reviewing this! So anyway, review 2 of this, is that my husband tried it, and on him it is GORGEOUS! Sophisticated. Unusual. Not in-your-face at all. The dry down is a warm mix of apple, smoke, dates, and vanilla. It is really very special. On me, terrible. But on him, wow. So it's his now. And even though he claims to not be a "perfume person", he's already grown quite chatty about it. His words: "This is what you wear to something important or official". Also I would add that if you were just to smell this on a strip of paper, it wouldn't do it justice at all. This really needs to evolve on the skin.

I definitely get green apple. Actually, the closest scent association I get with this is a comment made by another online reviewer. They said it smells like that neon green apple scented dish soap. I fully agree. It is fresher than I was expecting. There is also incense present that smells cool and unburnt. Nothing smoky at all for me. Maybe I could describe it as an antiques store that has just been mopped with green soap. Turns a bit more vanillic on the drydown which I find to be a more boring stage than the opening. Pleasant, easy to wear. Nothing mind blowing. If you want a fresh mild incense with soapy apple this is worth a try. Best worn in spring and fall. 7.6/10

The scent opens up very pleasantly and somehow dirty in a good way. I’d guess it’s due to some natural ingredients, which makes it even more interesting. Unfortunately, after about half an hour, it becomes much less pleasant. Ironically, just as I was thinking about its natural vibe, a slightly synthetic, maybe powdery, or cheap-soapy note starts to come through. Longevity and sillage are average. The pseudo-antique bottle also looks a bit artificial and cheap.

#838 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is a scent for women. Very fruity. Strong apple and dates notes that hint of a caramel candy apple. Light and fun, but not sexy. This will go to a female friend.

هوک چپ و راست با امبرکسان و سیب سبز انفجاری چندش آور و سنگین و مسموم با بوی برف شادی .. شامال نوبیل ... هیچوقته خدا نتونستم با این برند ارتباط دوستی بگیرم . هیچوقت فضای عطرهاش برام جذاب و زیبا نبوده . ماحصل این حجم از تبلیغات و شوآف بکار گیری از متخصصین امور هنری و متریال با روشها و متد سنتی و بسته بندی و بازاریابی میشه این عطرها ؟؟؟ من مصرف کننده دنبال این مزخرفات نیستم . دنبال عطر هستم !!! استفاده از متریال نامرغوب یا بدور از روش های مدرن استحصال اسنشیال اویل ها تو عطرسازی برند نوبیل . فضای عطرهاش رو به دور از طبیعت نت های مذکور نمایش میده . شامال هم ی ترکیبی بشدت مشمئز کننده و سنگین از امبرکسان و نت سیب سبز و آکورد اروماتیک هست که خیلی شیرینه . ی مگاماره شیرین شده . درای داون عطر تقریبا یاد آور بوی بلک ایکس اس پاکارابن میشه که امبرکسانی شده . پخش بو و ماندگاری وحشتناک بالاست . شامال ماهیت بشدت سنتتیک و سنگین و کلافه کننده داره که با هیچ یک از ادعات برند مبنی بر بکار گیری از متریال نچرال و تکنیکهای کلاسیک همخوانی نداره . با همه این نقد و نظر ها که شامال ابدا عطر من نیست . بسیار امروزی و مترادف با نیاز مارکت طراحی و ساخته شده حداقل از نظر تیپ رایحه . باکس و باتل که ماورای داغونه فضای کلی امبرکسانی و اروماتیک داره که نت سیب سبز تونسته حس شاد و پویا و فرحبخشی رو بهش بده که تو سرتاسر بوی عطر احساس میشه و نت خرما که اینم جزو مسخره بازی های دنیای عطرسازیه نیش بحساب میاد حس بوی شیرین رو بشدت تقویت کرده . خرما آخه بو داره ؟ بطور کلی می‌تونه رایحه عامه پسندی داشته باشه . به شرطی که اهل استفاده از این حجم از فضای سنتتیک و انتزاعی باشید کریس موریس دقیقا اومده همون حالت عطرهای سنگین و اقرار آمیز تو عطری سوسپیرو رو اینجا هم پیاده کرده . و ی موضوع خنده دار اینکه نوبیل اومده این عطر با این کیفیت داغون رو از لاینی بنام پریمیوم پرزنت کرده . تنها چیزی که می‌تونه روش مانور بده اکستریت بودن عطره . که بازم با این تگ قیمتی ارزش خرید نداره بنظرم .

Its like a melancholic song of memories deeply bedded in one's chest.Its a place where emotions generates,a time in which the love bonds develop and a person to which our heart talks. Its the aura of rusted nails,where the successor stands after losing before his heart,its the worn out table where apple pies have been served,its the photo album we collected during our school time,its the nuance of the old books we rotted and its the memory of our mothers velvety dupatta where we wiped out our sobs. The beautiful blue bottle with the artistically designed name plate,the dry woody cap and the vintage feeling leathery box along with a story card of the pearl fisherman, all adding to this ultra niche perfume. Its very hard to describe in words our memories that forms the foundation of our emotions. The nostalgia of Shamal will remain with me for a very brief period of time,as i said its the essence of time,place or a person that has lost contact. This is not perfumery,this is poetry with the nose.

Beautiful scent. That's my first thought... A dainty apple rendered through aldehydes -- C9 comes to mind, but it's been YEARS since I used it -- with a mild musk and some fruity dates. The 'velvet' is clearly that C9esque aldehyde, which adds body to the apple, it's weird to smell it in such a heavy volume, it's done quite well, but deep down, this is not something I would normally wear. But still damn nice...

As the reviewers said below. It’s well blended and the notes all mingle nicely. Sweetness with a hint of incense. The apple is nice done and crisp and the vanilla supports nicely. Very versatile fragrance and smells quality. The dna could be designer, but the quality and execution is niche quality.

The most “generic” from the brand. But it will meet the tastes of the general public. Cmon, everybody’s gotta pay the bills, right? It’s utilitarian, pedestrian, but EXTREMELY well blended. Not what I’m looking for at this point, but certainly a pleasant wear. Cuddly.

This is very unique scent with dark frankincense and slight sour and sweet fruity undertones. Really bold and extravagant perfume, but smells good. I could imagine wearing it for like wine tasting or some evening event. My ig: scent.guide
