Kalahari

I received a sample of Kalahari Extreme and fell in love with the scent but not the price tag from Noeme. Then I ran across a good deal on Kalahari and purchased a bottle thinking that it had almost the same notes as Kalahari Extreme. While some of the notes differ, Kalahari wears slightly lighter and is musky, whereas Kalahari Extreme is more fruity at the front, and spicy on the dry down. I love them both. I am not concerned about the lighter wear, since my husband thought Kalahari Extreme was too strong. For me, it lasts 3 to 6 hours on well-moisturized skin, and the projection is within 2-4 feet. Personally, I believe that both are very unisex. I also think that Kalahari would be great for layering, particularly in the cooler months. Update: I did a side by side comparison of Kalahari and Kalahari Extreme today. The differences are that Kalahari seem more dry and more musky. There is also a slight leathery touch in Kalahari, particularly in the dry down. And as mentioned above Kalahari is lighter wearing. Kalahari Extreme, on the other hand, is a bit sweeter from the pear and berries, but dries down with myrrh, more incense and woody notes. It reminds me of Christmas, which I love! I like both fragrances. They are different enough that I may have to get a bottle of Kalahari Extreme anyway. I prefer it slightly over Kalahari.

I want to give this perfume the review it deserves as the first thought I had was my signature Embers however I will have to do another side by side and add notes. Lots of resinous labdanum, warm spices (not really distinct cardamom though, that is usually far more aromatic, more of a pepper to my nose) and a lovely fireplace style incense and purring sweetness. Absolutely beautiful. Upon this try, my Embers is shining more on the drydown but I want to come back to this as I rarely compare my signature to anything. This one turns into a soft skin scent on me but I will be back with additional notes. Side to side with embers: this is far more tart almost sour. Today my embers on me is sweet and rummy alongside the fireplace woodsy spices and balsams. Amazing how Perfumes shift and shape as embers can also feel a touch "sour" but not today. I'm still totally in love with it. Also next to this kalahari smells more distinctly cardamom and less resinous and balmy than embers.

#1787 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Got this decant from scentpslit.com. Immediately reminded me of Ormonde Jayne’s “Kashmir” which is probably my favorite scent from that house. Kashmir is more floral and has an iris note that I love, but it’s also more feminine-leaning, so basically date wear only for me. This scent, as is often the case when you toss in ambrette, has more of a shaving cream vibe than Kashmir, and is more masculine and business appropriate for men, something I would wear to the office. Moderate performance and inoffensive in tight spaces. Very pleasant, but like every scent with a barbershop quality, a bit on the “dad juice” side. Price is not a bargain, but not horrible. soft white musk, along with incense, kind of dry, the similarities with mugler over the musk and le labo gaiac 10 are understandable, it's got the same vibe but the incense adds a more unique touch, but to categorize it, yes it is a clean musky scent that resembles thick face creams. other than that, it borderline smells like it has rice somewhere in the background.

Spicy warm cardamom. Not sweet. Little bit ambery. Cozy musk. Doesn't really project. Intimate sort of scent but makes me feel good whenever i apply this. Leans a bit fem. Good spicy musky scent. Can also serve as a signature scent. Not offensive. Might not buy a full bottle though. Kinda like meh. Bottle is gorgeous though.

Yummy spices: I can feel lots of Coca-cola-like cinnamon, cardamom and maybe pepper mixed with really nice vanilla and dark woods. Of course, the synthetic cashmeran backbone is quite prominent here, but I still like it a lot!!!

This is a heaven , I love the musk in the dry down , so sexy and elegant , Longevity is outstanding I sprayed it afternoon and woke up next day still smelling my wrist. Very different & unique so happy I got the 100ml bottle

I am disappointed today. I have two fragrances on that smell very good, but the performance is lackluster to say the least. The longevity on both of the fragrances lasted under one hour. In comparison, I tried Rabbit a couple of nights ago and it lasted all through the night into the next morning. Coming from an independent house that is a job well done. Today I have on Cèdre figue as well as noeme Kalahari. Both of them smell very good, but neither of them lasted. At this point in my collection, there is no way I'm going to spend almost $700 on fragrances that maybe last up to two hours before having to reapply. I wish I had something more positive to say. There is just too much competition and our current economy in the United States doesn't warrant us to be able to purchase multiple fragrances at one time. If you can afford to do so, I recommend you to try them both because the scent itself is very nice and I want to be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. One is very green with aspects of basil and spinach and the other one is a spicy woody sweet composition. They go very well together. However, I am very frustrated I have to reapply once again. My favorite thing about niche perfumery is that I can spray in the morning and still enjoy it in the late afternoon. Something a brand like Amouage is very good at. That is not happening here no matter how hard I try. From the perspective of a person who has to ask for assistance with every spray, it becomes a hindrance and therefore I cannot recommend with absolute honesty. It could be my own personal skin, I'm aware of that, but that doesn't change my reality. And it doesn't change the fact other brands do better.

got this as a free sample in a maxaroma order and im really glad i did! i get cardamom strong on the first spray - it's so so lovely. reminds me of drinking chair in the fall and winter. warm spice and soft musks dominate for the first ten minutes while the woods and incense are the star of the show in the dry down. i really enjoy that it is amber-less, just the cashmeran providing that warmth - makes it feel really clean. Not sickly sweet, since the florals and providing that, not some caramel accord or something. the only downside is it doesn't last or have strong projection - an intimate skin scent.

Lightly sweet spices that dry down to incense. Not offensive at all. I think this is a safe work fragrance and it is original too. I agree with others that the fragrance has very little projection. However it warms up nicely on skin and creates a cocoon for the wearer to enjoy throughout the wear time. You would need someone to hug you to catch a whiff of Kalahari. Longevity: Sprayed this at 5pm and it lingered close to the skin until 10pm. Now it is barely noticeable unless I push my nose into my arm.

I hate cashmeran, it smells damp mushrooms to me. I feel ambrette seeds, incense and CASHMERAN here... Overall I find it very unisex and a cosy autumn scent. Try before you buy!

Fresh, masculine clean scent. Kalahari is a distinctive musk/incense mixed with indistinguishable spicy notes. Overall the scent is pleasant, though it leans very synthetic.

I get the labdanum like in attack the sun from ELDO but this is giving me a wet moldy mop vibe rather than sweet. Like the tiled lobby floor mopped on a hot day but dried without the window open. If that is the kalahari then I won't be visiting.

Nice incense spice with a little sweet. Too bad it doesn’t last at all on my skin. 1-2 hrs, even on clothes, Very soft projection.
