Gaiac Flower

Light rose + wildflowers + Gaia’s, no tea flavor, no sourness, not so similar to Le Labo’s Black Tea 29. It’s very pleasant to the nose and on the skin, with no age or scene limitations. This is my favorite from the whole set of this brand.

Discovered it today and turns out it's the ultimate "my skin but better" scent. Took me by surprise because it's not something I usually gravitate towards but it's so creamy, soft and cozy I had to get it.

Last autumn, I had the pleasure of visiting Seoul and embarked on a quest to find the perfect souvenir in the form of a fragrance. My initial inclination was towards the Santal perfume, driven by my fascination with its key note. However, when I applied it to my skin, I found it failed to truly captivate me. On the contrary, the Gaic flower, with its harmonious blend of gaic wood, floral essence, and vanilla, utterly bewitched my senses. I couldn't resist obtaining a bottle for myself, though I ultimately settled for the 30 ml size. In hindsight, I ponder whether I should have indulged in the larger bottle. There's something about woody scents that exudes an intoxicating and sensual allure for me, surpassing even the most floral or vanilla-infused fragrances. As I contemplate my return to Seoul, I can't help but envision returning with a full-sized bottle of this irresistible concoction.

I am liking this more now that I've been playing around with it for a while. It seemed like nothing special at first because it is a very understated scent. I think it needs to be worn with the right mood to be appreciated. I wore this on a day off, after my morning shower. I just wanted to spray on something to complete my routine but was not in the mood for anything in particular. Gaiac Flower turned out to be the perfect scent for a laid back day at home. The opening is very weak but the heart slowly warms up to a soft, slightly effervescent vanilla. Reminds me of that whiff when you first open a can of vanilla cola. It's subtle and clean. A polite, inoffensive, clean non-fresh laundry kind of everyday smell. I think it's great to wear to bed too.

First impressions: this smells like honey with elderflowers in it. It is reminicsient of some soap I've smelled in the past for sure, I'm just not sure which one. There's also slight woodiness that is almost smoky. This is my first time smelling guaiac wood, which apparently can smell either smoky and leathery or sweet and balsamic. There's not too much smoke but when you smell this up close, you can notice it. Overall for a flower scent it's warm and kind of clean smelling but I wish the amber was stronger here. Seems to be a very uncomplicated and linear scent

At initial spray, I get the amber first. Then the gaiac comes in and smooths it out. Upon dry down, the floral comes out to play. It's all very subtle and blends together - I get the honey and tea comparison. To my nose, it's like hot tea with a spoonful of wildflower honey.

Woody, herbal, cinnamon notes, a bit of marshmallow. Drydown is very rose-y. Very wearable yet sophisticated. I love how light nonfiction perfumes are but in a way that makes you want to smell more.

I waned to love this. It smelt fantastic in-store, it remained fantastic on my arm. But after I bought it and took it home, it starts off beautifully warm and woody with enough vanilla and floral notes to keep things interesting... within an hour it starts smelling like a sweaty musky unwashed shirt that I can't get rid off. I've tried it in all kinds of temperatures (brisk autumn day, sunny summer noon) and it always fills me with regret - which is never an emotion you want when you're covered in that scent.

I'd hurriedly purchased this from the Nonfiction brick and mortar in Seoul (which at the time was quite crowded), figuring that it was nice-enough on paper, and remembering that I'd enjoyed my previous run-ins with guaiac wood x vanilla scents (Memoirs of a Trespasser by IA comes to mind). That was very much a mistake and my bad. This standalone iteration of guaiac wood just takes the tar-like aspect way off the deep end. I can't smell any of the intended supporting notes, only some kind of tire-y and rotten whisky barrel-like acridness. Maybe there's a hint of vanilla if I give it a good huff, but at that point, I'd be giving myself a headache. Just overall unbalanced and unfortunate.

pretty boring. the other nonfiction scents I tried have also been a let down. There's very little in the way of a good guaiac wood note- more like a slightly ambiguous haze of earthiness that feels more like a black tea. Towards the end it's just an ambery floral tea with a mild berry aroma. Nowhere near the quality of The Noir 29 but I see the references. After an hour it feels a bit soapy but in a rather cheap way like it's the leftover scent of a hand lotion.

The name is rather misleading.(I get absolutely no florals in this) There's something in this that makes me despise it on the skin, where the sillage is much better than sniffing the surface where you sprayed it. It's such a shame since it's so weak in terms of protection :(( Does get better with time but still quite a boring ambery & woody & unoriginal bark smell👎👎

i'm not a big fan of oriental/amber scents but this one was quite pleasant perhaps owing to the guaiac wood and vanilla !!

Tried this because ppl saying this is me labo dupe but the noir better

There is no honey note listed but this 100% smells like honey to me.
