Scent of Aurora

Arctic berry summer! The notes are sweet but not too sweet, as the berry, arctic raspberry. And I get a lot of black currant and a bit of tea too. In the heart and base it's berry cashmere woody, but the wood doesn't take over. I don't know how Eva does it but this honestly smells like my childhood summers in arctic part of Sweden and Finland. And this makes me think of the taste of cloudberry too. I haven't tried anything like it as I can remember. I love it, it really takes me back to the north somehow. I guess that's the difference between niche and designer made scents: It has soul!

A beautiful scent. Warm, a bit skinclose, superfemale'ish, come-and-hug-me-scent. Great mix of Black currant, Iris, Tea and Cashmere wood. After a few hours there is a sweet Cashmerenote hanging around. I have dry skin and I can smell it for over 10 hours. A keeper! En underbar doft. Varm, lite hudnära superkvinnlig kom-å-krama-mig-doft. Suverän mix av svarta vinbär, Iris, Te och Cashmereträ. Efter några timmar återstår en söt Cashmerenot som är hudnära men ändå tydlig. Jag har torr hud och på mig doftar den över 10 timmar. Ett måste!!

This is a delicate, close to the skin scent, but still with veeeery good longevity. Woodsy notes, iris, tea. A very fresh smelling, but also very natural and outdoorsy smelling scent. Not a iota of the "dreaded detergent" here, I am happy to report. Might be black currant in it, I can ́t tell, maybe I ́m anosmic of black currant, because I can ́t detect it in for example Hermes Amazone either? Something in this perfume makes me think of the scent of wet ground just after a rain... Absolutely delicious! I am very happy with my purchase!

My second bottle. A beautiful scent - safe for office. Very nice year around. Warm, female and sexycosy -with cashmere and tonka you can't go wrong. A come-and-hug-me-scent. Its not loud - and not skinclose neither. Min andra flaska. En underbar doft - helt ok för kontoret. Funkar fint året om att bära. Varm, kvinnlig och sexig - med cashmere och tonka kan det inte bli fel, liksom. En kom-å-krama-mig-doft. Den är varken skrikig, kraftig -inte heller hudnära.

I was a bit scared that this would be too powdery for me, but it's not. This feels like how I imagined and wished Byredo's summery scents would be (my skin will not cooperate with that brand, it's.. ugh). But this... This is gentle and not at all cloyingly powdery. The iris is prominent and light in the opening and then comes the sweetness of the berries and the tonka. When the cashmere peeks through after a while it's friendly and soft. It might be the white tea that balances everything out and makes this something more than just powdery and sweet. Youthful and light, but I can definitely wear this as a 40+ woman. The projection is stronger on my skin than The Pearl from the same collection, but I think it is my skin. Cashmere and powderyness usually sings off it (it can be a curse sometimes but not in this case). The drydown is cashmere, tonka and blackcurrant, which makes me feel warm and cozy. I still prefer The Pearl if I had to choose, but it's only because I prefer a less sweet scent when it comes to feminine fragrances. Edit: Wait, something exciting happens in the late drydown and I can't put my finger on it. I'm 4 hours in and I realise this one has something I haven't smelled before - it's a very addictive scent. If I breathe on my skin it becomes clearer. It's fruity in a unique way. I look forward to getting to know this fragrance better...

I had the luck of receiving a sample of the Scent of Aurora. On my skin, the fragrance opens with a cozy and powdery blend of iris and tonka bean. I can detect the fruity notes peeking through, allowing the scent to remain airy and clean smelling. In the drydown, the woody notes give it a warm and comforting feel, like wearing your favourite soft jumper! It is a great everyday fragrance, very wearable and relaxing.

A very nice and clean "I-just-got-out-of-the-shower" or "shampoo" scent. Starts out fruity and becomes more and more woodsy as time goes by. Very good longevity. I've been wearing this a lot lately and I really like how clean and fresh it makes me feel.

A beautiful and very comforting powdery fruity fragrance. Very rounded, quite close to the skin, but very pleasing. Here is a lot of musk.

With held breath I waited for my little sample in the post and it arrived earlier this morning. Of course I put it on immediately, what else? The sample came with a little red blob/dot at the bottom, very cutely representing the blackcurrant in the scent pyramid I guess. It's a lovely presentation, sadly the scent is really not my thing. I'll try and be objective, since the folks at NorraNorrland seem like a nice bunch, dedicated to their customers, I find the concept intriguing and I do appreciate this niche perfume, even though it's not up my alley. So the opening is indeed fresh, very ozonic smelling in the way that ice has/or in fact hasn't a smell. The blackcurrant is noticeable and... I think herein lies my problem: I expected it to fully smell like a Swedish northern forest. It doesn't. It smells like "nubbe" which is fragrant, spiced vodka that one drinks at festive dinners in Sweden. Specifically the nubbe spiced with blackthorn. And I swear there is, if not Jasmine, a cloying white flower in there somewhere. Alternatively a white musk base which I can't detect since I'm anosmic to certain musks. It's that-aluminium-at-the-back-of-the throat-accord that I don't tolerate. However, I can completely see this being a hit with some perfume heads in Sweden since this is the sort of scent that hits home with the crowd here. Fresh/metallic/bitter. If that's your thing, try it. Longevity and projection is very good, mid range priced.

I'm saving up for all of these by Norra Norland, after getting their Arctic Bird Cherry flower extrait. It's beautiful in the body cream and balm that I make. I was looking for a perfume with black locust flowers that I had when I lived in the US. My Norsk husband said to look for hegg, which is a beautiful smelling spring bush in Scandinavia. So here's where I ended up. They also have a multe,or cloudberry extract which is on my list. The other perfumes here sound beautiful but it's going to take awhile to get them all. So happy to see them here.

Quite pleasant! On first sniff I get the clean smell of a shower after getting out of an indoor swimmingpool. After about half an hour I get the smell of an airport tax-free makeup department, neat and high-end. Clean and cozy. I like it.
