Hypnotic Oud Quinze XV

A great work here. I always appreciate those who dare to take risks, and North Stag has dared considerably with this one. Hypnotic Oud: a fitting name, without a doubt. This is a fragrance with a powerful, animalic character. It is fundamentally spicy, sensual, and wild. It opens with a note of grapefruit zest, darkened immensely by saffron, which also lends a metallic edge to the already resinous, almost medicinal opening. The evolution is rather rapid, with cardamom and labdanum, aided by the pungent, slightly sweet heat of cinnamon, anticipating the arrival of the 'leather'. But it is in the dry-down where Cypriol oil, with its unmistakable earthy, vetiver-root scent and animalic character, reinforces the labdanum and oud, pushing the fragrance into its most primal territory. The performance is on par with its character: excellent longevity on the skin and an enveloping sillage that follows you for hours, dense with spices, tobacco, and leather. Hypnotic Oud is a total olfactory experience. It merges the bitter brilliance of a dark citrus opening, the comforting warmth of spices and tobacco, and the primitive depth of oud, leather, and animalic notes. It is far more intriguing and complex than its note pyramid might suggest.

Smell and vibes of a fragrance someone who made a fortune in something like the lumberjack industry (not a tech CEO) would wear while driving around town in an Aston Martin old-timer. With very good performance as well. Paris Corner did a phenomenal job on this one and probably the best compliment I can give them is that this easily could've been a 300 dollar fragrance from the house The Spirit of Dubai. Scent: 9.7/10 Performance: 9/10 Presentation: 9.5/10 (great sprayer as well!) Price: 11/10 (35 Euros for 100ml for a fragrance that at least borders on niche-level stuff)

Beautiful, rich, and heavy scent. It opens with a spicy, woody, leathery oud, with a slightly animalic touch in the background. It is a very complex fragrance, so I think you need an experienced nose to fully appreciate it. The quality is excellent, and the ingredients smell very natural. Nothing feels harsh, cheap, or synthetic. For the price, the performance and quality are really impressive. Unfortunately, I don’t own Meydan by The Spirit of Dubai and I have never smelled it, so I can’t compare them. But on its own, this is an amazing scent.

This one right here, gentlemen. To my nose, it smells like a mix of the aromatic, floral nature of Penhaligon's Halfeti and the leather used in Afnan's Tobacco Rush, with a more nuanced and dense, woody tone. There is an animalic side to it that unfolds as the scent dries down. And what a blend that is. Sexy, masculine, mysterious, niche-level fragrance, with a beautiful bottle and presentation as well as pressurized sprayer. With eternal performance as well.

This really punches the leather. The dark smokey tobacco sits right behind it too. Wood notes float around in there in a pleasant way. I don't detect any of the listed top notes, but wow the bang of that leather/tobacco is huge and has some serious staying power. Possibly not an easy wear for many people, so YMMV. If your wearing leather, or working on machinery, this is a blokes scent for cool weather. Personally, I really like it. The partner doesn't.

Complex clean oud, super long lasting, moderate sillage. It's great. No barnyards, scat, piss, stank. Oud malaki with a green twist on steroids. Edit: 30 pufs on a denim jacket.. dear people... This isn't long lasting. It's eternal. After 2 days the projection is 1-2 meters. It's not oud malaki. This has some stank but not necessarily in a bad way. Maybe there is a little bit of real oud in this..

Quite complex. I can smell leather, tobacco, grapefruit, oud, cardamom, musc, saffron. To my nose it is mainley leather, tobacco, grapefruit. I love it. Very special perfume. I am a woman and I wear it. But keep in mind that it leans masculine.

It is strong and complex. The perfect introduction to leather-oud and animalic fragrances, as it has so many softened facets that none of them become overpowering. It’s a little sweet, a little green, a little balsamic, with a hint of tobacco. It’s certainly not for beginners, but with a bit of experience in fragrance, it’s elegant, sophisticated and original enough not to smell like everyone else. The presentation is niche-level, the longevity is well above average, and the scent is enchanting (an acquired taste). Whilst it’s not a favourite for going out, I do enjoy it immensely for personal use or on very cold nights, worn in an elegant yet casual style.

The reviewer below is either trying to boost other brands or reviewing the wrong fragrance. This is INSANELY strong. Go light on the sprays because it projects and lasts days. BEAST MODE performer. This is actually pretty similar to Amouage Interlude Man. It's a quality scent but I can't get down with this one or Interlude because they both have a note that reminds me of dipping tobacco (probably the leather). Used to dip but the smell makes me want to puke now! Objectively 8.5/10. But for me: 4/10.

I am sooo sorry, but this smells really bad to me. I mainly get some kind of woody notes. If you sniff very up close you can get more notes like dry fruitiness and after some time also a bit of sweetness. The thing is, together it smells exactly like rotten carrots to me. And still, that is not my main problem. My main problem is, this smells just like my poop on some days, I am not even joking. This replicates my shit perfectly. For this reason alone I cannot bear wearing it.

Not a bad scent, BUT performance and longevity are absolute TRASH!!! Another disappointing fragrance from Paris Corner. I’ll stick with Fragrance World, Lattafa, and Al Haramain for my UAE dupes. 😉

Extremly masculine, dry, spicy, woody and leather scent. Without a doubt the leather is the main focus of this fragrance. Best for colder weather, or chilly summer evenings. A rough scentprofile, not in terms of blend, but in terms of character because its a very niche scent. I think this is another of those scents that if you didn't know the price tag or the brand and smelled it blindly, you would think its alot more expensive and artisanal then it is. Reminds me of the two Memo Irish Leather clones i have tested, namely Lattafa Ana Abyedh Leather and Autobiography Rich Leather. Its the same type of dry, dark, herbal leather...but i wouldn't call it animalic tho, it doesn't make me think of a raw hide but it is far from a friendly designer style leather so be aware. Worth getting if you want a bold masculine scent. This wouldn't work on a woman at all, not even on a "tomboy". A well dressed man 40 years or older with a thick but well groomed beard, a serious but calm attitude and a mysterious allure paired with this fragrance is a match made in heaven. You also get a stellar presentation. My only negative would be, as the reviewer below me also noted, that many of the mentioned notes are absent to me. Notes like cinnamon, cardamom, amber, grapefruit, tonka that would otherwise add sweetness to the composition aren't there for better or worse.

This is not a woody, spicy fragrance but leather and tobacco mainly. The accord pyramid should be as follows: Leather, tobacco, warm spicy, oud, amber, woody. As a leather fragrance, it's nice but if you consider this as a woody fragrance, then the leather is overdone. Gents scents mentioned it smells similar to Oud Wood, Carved wood or Versace oud noir. That is not true, it's significantly different from those. I get more of an Ombre leather vibes.
