Neuf IX77

Initially I couldn't even smell the vanilla and amber, just a overpowering benzoin, just like @hvnscnt described below me, which I didn't hate, but definitely felt disapointed. Then left untouched in my drawer for 2 weeks and BOOM, the smell completely changed. Rich vanilla and amber, the benzoin is 90% smoother and it's just a beautiful scent. Two months from the first spray, I think this one of the best cheap winter time fragrances. The presentation is also very beautiful and it comes with a pressurized atomizer. Based on the looks you can't say it's less than U$50. I don't consider this a beast mode fragrance, it has good longevity(8+ hours), but moderate projection if you spray little, so you can rock 6 - 8 sprays if you want that extra projection. Don't judge it completly on the first spray, wait and you will see the power of maceration.

An initial impression.... I enjoy Grand Soir but not enough to spend the money. I wanted a high quality clone to wear occasionally. This fragrance is an extrait, dence, deep, resinous, ambery Grand Soir vibes in the opening, it's strong potentially nauseating . It drys down to an inviting sweet ambery vanilla scent the fragrance takes time to round out. When sprayed on clothes it will last days. A rich extrait for £40 that gives me the feel of Grand Soir but less subtle. Moderate your sprays... don't spray your neck and wait for the dry down. A mature formal scent for cold weather. The bottle feels and looks high end... a shame about the cheap atomiser. The packaging looked great but it smelt disgusting, foul chemical smelling cardboard. A mixed bag 7.5/10

I just love Grand Soir and owned a bottle in the past. But for some reason it just didn't last on me at all. I tried Lataffa' Eternal Oud which is actually quite different from Grand Soir. But that fragrance didn't work too well for me. Smells cheap and has bad performance. Now Neuf IX on the other hand is great. It embodies the essence of the masterpiece Grand Soir perfectly, it's thick and lasts for a long time. It's a step down in quality ofcourse but not by much. For me it's a big step up in performance and I see myself reaching for this one a lot. I found myself a worthy replacement. Smell: 9/10 Performance: 9/10 Price: 10/10 Quality: 8/10 Highly recommended.

I first got this at the end of last year, just trying different things I saw on here and thought I would like. On first spray it was strange and I didn’t understand or really like it, but I noticed the card I sprayed lasted a long time...days..for the price it’s not worth trying to resell so I put it up. I just got some refills and picked this up to make room, and it’s way different! I like it now, on my skin it gives a vibe similar to SWY EDT but less sweet. This is one of few I’ve came access that really smells different on skin than on paper

I don't own the og, so i can't say how similar they are. But, I will review it as it is, a very exquisite scent profile, very sophisticated. Definetly masculine, suited for a gentleman, well dressed. I wouldn't wear this if you are under 25yo and skinny, it gives a very mature muscular man kind of vibes. At first spray it gave me the nostalgia of an old library, but after i left it to mature, it got so refined. I use it only for special ocasions. Performance is beast mode with this, 10h+ with 3-4h of good projection.

Delightfully sweet spicy open on this! It is potent, ussually one good spray is just right for me, and applied in advance of leaving the house to let it mellow before exposing others to it. I love the balsamic presence and the longest lasting part I catch is the slightly powdery dry down of the tonka note. Wonderful subtle wafts of this persist into the next day on fabric or hair. Really enjoying this one!

Received my bottle yesterday. No production dates on the box so I cannot comment on dates, batches etc. High quality and no harshness straight out of the box. Getting a cooked orange/orange rind in the opening. The benzoin is there but nothing harsh at all. The amber/vanilla/tonka/cedar drydown is perfectly blended. Stuck on my skin for quite some time.

I thought I got scammed at the initial spay... weird notes and off putting... after a month it definitly changed and improved a little, to the point that I start getting the hype of this scent profile and be comfortable wearing it... Good fragrance

I got this for $35, for that price it’s an amazing and complex Amber scent, it’s very heavy on the resins and isn’t pure vanilla, but it’s growing on me and I’m starting to love it

95% similar. Slightly more lavender and amber than Grand Soir. I got 7+ hours with moderate projection. Love grand soir so will be purchasing a full bottle of this

Great dupe for Grand Soir. I'd say it's about 90% close. Great performance and high quality bottle. The smell it's really close but someone said in a review down below that he finds Grand Soir a little rougher in the opening than this. For me is the exact opposite. On my skin and in the air, Neuf has a harsh and synthetic opening, one that I really disliked when I first sprayed it and I was kinda scared because I thought it will stay like this, also I didn't find that at all in Grand soir. For me, GS it's a warm amber bomb right from the start. However, after about 20 minutes, in the dry down the harsh and synthetic feel is gone and you're left with same warm creamy amber and vanilla smell as in the original GS, that will lasts you for hours, easy 8 hours on my skin and I could still feel it, maybe it would have stayed even more but I took a shower. I will let this one macerate for a couple of weeks and hope I can get rid of that harsh opening, as I've experienced with other clones/dupes, most of them benefit from macerating. Very good frag for winter and cold autumn nights, really warms you up. Bang for the buck at this price and really in the air you would not know the difference between this and original, also the performance is really close too, maybe GS has a slightly better projection and is a bit richer/denser on its lifespan but not by much. Would definitely recommend and maybe I'll come back with an update after maceration and some full wears in the colder weather.

Very much similar to Grand Soir. This has a smoother opening than my example of GS, though this has a lot more Labdanum coming through, it's also got more lavender or something at the beginning to counteract and it and smooth it out more. I find GS a little rougher in the opening, I'm not sure which note causes this but it carries on into drydown. Neuf develops this roughness later on in the drydown, maybe 30-60 minutes later; where you start picking up the Paris corner 'house smell' from their vanilla accord, which has a nearly tobacco roughness to it. The roughness keeps both fragrances interesting, and adds some maturity. Neither fragrance smells cheap to me but Grand soir undoubtedly smells like the more expensive of the two. Both overall have this softness about them with the rough edge up close, and more performance than you expect. I'd say they're 85-90% similar. I'll stick to having a small decant of Grand soir at all times, and a full bottle of this at all times to use without a care. I just can't handle the sheer cost of a bnib MFK fragrance yet. I easily get 12 hours or more from both fragrances. Overall I honestly think I prefer the Neuf IX......

Significantly richer and darker than Barakkat Ambre Eve. Scent-wise, both are just as good, but this one is better reserved for winter, whereas Barakkat Ambre Eve is usable even on cool summer nights I think. Both are beautiful scents. Side note--my bottle was leaking and I lost about 5ml of juice prior to unboxing. It's still leaking extremely slowly. I'm guessing I'll lose about 20ml per year just from evaporation/leaking. Update: MFK Grand Soir is slightly brighter than Neuf, and slightly darker than Barakkat Ambre Eve. I have all three, though only a sample of Grand Soir. Out in public, people won't notice the difference between either clones and Grand Soir. I ultimately prefer Barakkat Ambre Eve over Neuf because it's brighter than Neuf; but I also prefer Gentle Fluidity Gold over Grand Soir because it's brighter than Grand Soir; so it's no surprise. (Gentle Fluidity Gold is truly just a brighter Grand Soir and maybe a tiny bit more creamy.)

Having tried both, this scent is identical to and a rebottling of Paris Corners Amber Grand Pendora, also in the DB here so just get one or the other if exploring GS dupes. This one has the nicer bottle and overall packaging presentation by far, so if that matters I’d get this. Lacks the heady amber effect that Grand Soir has, leaning more in the direction of benzoin vanilla, as apposed to being amber heavy. Also not as linear as GS, this has something of an evolution throughout the wear. Still really nice juice though and very enjoyable in its own right and long lasting too

The opening reminds me of burberry london with vanilla amber background. The benzoin also quite intense here. Update after i purchase grandsoir: is it similar like Grandsoir? Perhaps the combination of vanilla and benzoin shares alike similarity in between. The difference: neuf stag is no lavender and cinnamon vibes on it, the vanilla was different (of course), and more harsh benzoin. I prefer mfk in overall.

@amateurnose, I have tried both and yes they are identical smelling and in how they both wear in full length, so you are correct.

Maybe just a bit harsh off the opening but overall its a good scent.

labdanum is strong i usually appreciate labdanum but when its this noticable it smells like a harsh leather after dry down its phenomenal and in the sprayer its the best smell ive ever smelt maybe after maceration it will be good but tbh its not as sweet as i hoped it would be mostly leathery amber instead of sweet if you know what the og smells like and that doesnt align well dont get it but this is the 2nd day ive got it ill let it sit for a month and update

it is much better already smells great in the air upclose still not my type of thing though but i get how others like it
