Anima Libera

I blind bought Anima Libera, hoping it would live up to the hype, and I’m glad it did. It’s a sweeter, airier, and more refined take on YSL La Nuit de L’Homme. The scent feels more layered, with a bit more cinnamon, a subtle touch of lavender, and the signature sweet cardamom taking center stage. It’s interesting that not all of the notes are officially listed, as there’s definitely more going on than the note breakdown suggests. Overall, it’s a versatile, inoffensive fragrance that’s perfect for everyday wear. Compared to La Nuit de L’Homme, it smells higher quality, more nuanced, and better blended. The only disappointment was the presentation. My order arrived with just the bottles—no paper cylinder packaging—only a linen pouch wrapped in plastic. As long as the fragrance itself is authentic and performs well, I can live with that. So far, I’m very happy with the purchase.

This review is for the EDP version which as at today is not on fragrantica. Anima Libera is a fantastic reimagination of a fresh, spicy but classy and alluring masculine gentleman’s fragrance. It reminds me of a discontinued beauty know as La Nuit de L’Homme Bleu Electrique which was a more lavender forward version of the Legendary original La Nuit de L’homme both created by YSL. In this version the spiciness from black pepper, pink pepper and star anise as well as the freshness from lavender are even more amped up and made more artistic with a touch of fruitiness but still very versatile and lively. High quality offering from a small independent niche fragrance house based in Italy. True class lives on in different iterations but never dies. Anima Libera has reawakened my love for this DNA.

Dope. This is a spicy warm blend that smells equal parts fresh ans seductive. Solidly unisex. Fruits blend perfectly with the other scents. Not like anything else you have smelled. Simple packaging and branding the money for this scent went towards scent development and man oh man I'm here for it! Signature scent worthy! Yes the reviewers on here are right. Longevity and sillage are spectacular and the price is good for 3.4 oz under $150. I don't think I've EVER given a fragrance a 5 but OMG I am leaning towards it here!!! Where oh where has this been all my life?! This scent is hereby dubbed office safe Date night approved Smash and dash catnip!!!! Yyyeeeezzzuuussss this is just good!

I bought this fragrance on a vacation in Italy. I think we were in Sienna. We walked down this street and this scent wafted from a small perfume shop. I literally followed it in and bought it on the spot. I tend to like light floral/rose forward scents, but this one...I couldn’t get enough of it. A bit citrusy, a bit spicy. Also, I’m a female, and I definitely think this is a unisex fragrance.

I can’t describe it like everyone else, but it’s amazing, sensual, fresh, elegant, and an Italian creation!
