A sexy green and figgy fragrance. Not too sexy so I can wear this at work. Unique, alluring and perfect for spring and summer. Someone sell me a bottle of this shit!!

As far as fig fragrances go, this definitely starts as promised. A slightly bitter fig fragrance through and through. Green, unsweetened fruit, and an underlying velvety woodiness. The fig persists from top to mid, but sadly is nowhere to be found in the dry down. In fact, the dry down is a straight up vetiver, which is fine for vetiver lovers. I am not a vetiver lover yet tolerate the dry down well, whilst lamenting that juicy fig. Great and quality fragrance, just not for me to keep the full bottle.

Green, earthy, velvety, and so smooth! The softest, prettiest fig fragrance I've tried, makes me want to melt whenever I take a big inhale of it on my skin. Feels incredibly sophisticated and put-together without being typical or unsurprising. A very close second to Notes de Bas de Paje's Towede (which is still my favorite of the set), although Prolegomenes is definitely more suited for year-round wear! I could see myself wearing this and really enjoying it any time of day, in any weather

Gorgeous slightly fruity and drier woodsy take on a fig scent. A bit heavier on the green aspects - the apple is unsweetened and pretty well executed. I feel like I have a couple scents similar to this (notably - Ground by Gabar and a decant of bdk’s Gris Charnel) but this is just so good too. I’m enamored by the deeper and earthier qualities of this scent.

The keywords I take with me from previous reviews are: earthy, fig, vetiver, dry, bitter, green, fruity, unsweet. I would also like to add: tangy, sour-fruity. Prolégomènes is equally about vetiver, as it is about the fig. This is not a 'fig-people-pleaser' like Philosykos , Parisian Musc or Cèdre Figalia . It's not equally versatile, but more so, it gives off a very sophisticated, high-quality impression. The debut collection is small, but thoughtfully curated. In the end, I think this is quite a narrow fig-rendition, compared to the ones mentioned above. This is definitely a more niche alternative. It will not appeal to everyone. If you want a woody-fruity fig that is more easy to wear, I think Atelier Materi's Cèdre Figalia is perhaps a better option. If you are looking for something more singular- and personal, try Prolégomènes. Always sample and evaluate first. From my very subjective point of view, I think Towédé is the true star of the collection. It is something entirely else. I also liked Olatua , because of its carefree, yet very sophisticated take on the 'salty vacation beach coconut fragrance'. Prolégomènes is very nice, but does not really align with my preferences.
