Oliban

Beautiful Olibanum at a low price. One of my favorite affordable fragrances. It's the scent of an old wooden church, moments after mass, with frankincense resin smoke swirling around, mixed with the scent of wooden pews. The composition is livelier thanks to chamomile, patchouli, and citrus notes, which add depth to this fragrance. The sillage and longevity aren't impressive, but are still very decent for the price. Perfect for starting your incense journey. Similar to "Ences Roi - Histories de Parfums" and "Montale - Full Incense". Nou Oliban, while similar in scent, is shallow. If you're looking for greater depth, richness, and sillage , I recommend checking out the aforementioned siblings.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! To me, at first if smells like sitting in an old church made of pine wood during a mass where they used a lot of incense. Nostalgic and heavy. Later, it becomes a bit lighter while still retaining the benzoin smell. I love it after a few hours. The leather note really POPS then, the scent becomes very intimate. The leather works really well with the vanilla. It makes it sweet without being overwhelming. It's a surprising end to a scent like that but it also makes it even better. It's really not expensive but smells like it is. One of my best purchases in a WHILE

A cheapie bought because people were praising the scent and it was the profile I like, so the risk was low due to great price. It's pretty awesome, a bit churchy but not too much, slightly coniferous (even though not listed, my nose feels it this way), not too dry. A more modern take on meditative incense. Rather translucent, spatial, doesn't suffocate or overwhelm. Feels quite green and neutral - doesn't evoke any solemnity or sternness. The only issue is longevity, maybe 3-4 hours on skin, more on clothes. For the price I can happily reapply if needed.

It opens sour and astringent, shown as citrus and elemi in the list. Then it quickly evolves to scent centering smooth and cool olibanum, with other notes as light decorations. During the drydown it gets sweeter and softer. Projection intimate and longevity OK. Beside Avignon it's also close to Bentley absolute to my nose.

For those who adore olibanum incense mixed with some herbs – catholic church style. The composition is really close to CDG Avignon, these two share similar inspirations. Therefore NOU Oliban could cost twice as much or even more. The scent which transcends its price tag.

If you grew up in Slavic countries you know this smell by heart. This is an old church in a small village in a bottle. Also I can smell the chamomile note, which makes it even better.

first spray is SUPER almost peppery in a way, really strikes at the throat. the dry down is so good though, subtle and close to the skin but smells of wisdom and guilt. very churchy. only con is that it feels kind of flat, only really sense the frankincense. wish there was a little more base. definitely dry. for the price though it’s super unique and a great value.

Frankincense with no smoke. Smells like an open air space, not a closed church at all. Maybe a souk on a sunny day, drinking Karak Chai tea with evaporated milk. It's a light touch mood and can add a resin layer to florals or summery colognes. Frankincense all the way through with creamy support.

to me, this is a cheaper verson of Montale's Full Incense. while longevity and sillage are alright, for its price ($25), this is an amazing deal! great scent for any incense perfume lover to have in their repertoire just for that alone

Blind buy for me and what a wonderfull suprise. Same ballpark as Cardinal and Avignon but for the fraction of a price. Love it. Hidden gem for all those church incense lovers like myself.

Blind bought it. As the other reviews have already stated, this goes into the alley of the other usual suspects for churchy incenses. The closest fragrance would be Incenso delle Chiese di Roma by Essenzialmente Laura. There are differences however. In Oliban the incense note is not of the dry and clean kind, there is a sweet leather note that pervades the composition from start to dry down. At some point it becomes generically ambery, which is where the low price point shines through, I guess. However, for the price longevity and sillage are ok, as you get 2-3 hours of moderate projection.

Right after initial spray you get bold citruses. Although I am a big fan of citrus notes, this one is not very nice to my nose. It's like artificial lemon cake flavouring mixed wit artificial vanilla cake flavourin. You can smell olibanum in the background right in the beginning, and it gets bolder in time, but its dry, not burned yet one. And it is masculine, I can definitely see a man while smelling it. So for me It's rather a pass, I'm looking for something more dry(in term of non sweet). But maybe I'll try this on my husband skin and buy it for him.

I was very sceptic about this perfume but purchasing it blindly. What a pleasent surprise!!! Very churchy.. very, very orthodox or catolic churches vibe scent!!! It last about 6-7 hours. Very natural burned frankincense (olibanum) in a purest way - no vanille, no amber, no roses... no oriental vibe!!! Pure cold church incense in a perfect way!

If you like this, Montale Full Incense is the turbo boosted version. Excellent smooth and pure incense (i.e. no burning scent like with actual burnt incense), but unfortunately has pretty sad performance. More for personal enjoyment to spray for fun, but I highly doubt anyone will find this one offensive if you were to wear it into the office.

I love incense, unlit and smoking both, and church scents always invoke in me a pleasant nostalgia. This is beautiful for a friendly price.
