Leather Privilege

This is missing some of the notes, from the sample I have the notes are listed as follows: Top Notes: Cardamom, saffron, lavender, pepper Heart Notes: Plum, rose, incense, amber Base Notes: Leather, patchouli, sandalwood, tonka bean Which makes more sense given that on my skin there is a strong lavender and rose note that melts with leather, saffron and pepper. All in all it is a very bold scent, heavily leans masculine in my opinion and I would love to smell this on a man. But sadly, not on myself, for the leather note really doesn't play well with my skin.

Heavy on the spicy and leather on me. I'd say the warmth mostly comes out in the dry down. It's a more traditionally masculine scent but I think it is perfectly wearable by women or non-binary people too. Gives off badass vibes, Very good longevity and moderate to strong silliage. Overall, it makes me think of an exclusive BDSM club foyer with a fancy leather couch.

The opening is lovely albeit a tad too scratchy, however it develops a nauseating sweetness that reminds me of cheap drugstore older-dad perfumes. Glad I got a sample of it, wouldn't purchase unfortunately.

Novellista Leather Privilege is one of those fragrances that makes a strong first impression, just not the kind you hope for. It opens with black pepper but very quickly the leather and plum take over and turn the whole composition into something thick, sour and strangely rubbery. Instead of smelling dark, spicy and luxurious, it reminds me of old leather soaked in melted gummy candy that has been sitting in the sun for far too long. I suspect the strange effect comes from the combination of plum and leather. The plum adds a thick, sticky fruitiness, while the leather feels old, sour and almost rubbery. Tonka bean tries to soften the composition, but instead of making it smoother, it only makes the whole thing feel heavier. This is an extremely dark, dense and heavy fragrance. It belongs exclusively to cold evenings, when the lower temperature might allow the notes to develop without suffocating everyone nearby. It is absolutely not a safe blind buy, and I would not recommend it to anyone just entering the fragrance world. This is for someone experienced enough to understand what the composition is trying to achieve, even if, in my opinion, it does not achieve it in a way most people would enjoy. There are much better leather fragrances and much better versions of this same dark fruity-leather combination. Nothing about the pyramid feels particularly original and many similar fragrances are smoother, more wearable and simply better executed. This is not a niche fragrance, but it certainly has a niche type of appeal, meaning a very small and specific audience might appreciate it. Leather Privilege has an appropriate name, though, because enjoying it genuinely feels like a privilege granted to those very few people.

A dark, masculine, sharp, strange, and highly unpleasant opening: a combination of peppery spices, plum, incense, and heavy leather treated with chemical polish. Over time, the leather note becomes more natural, while the overall fragrance turns sweeter, drier, and somewhat more pleasant. 3.5/10
